  2. None of those options! Ah well I guess number three played a minor role but it wasn't the main reason. For me it was actually the feeling that lego was putting out large special pieces that was kind of killing a lot of the fun and creativity of building whatever you wanted with the bricks. I can almost still feel the dissapointment I felt when, after I laid eyes on the super-duper-mega-cool pirateship (Black Seas Barracuda I belive it was), opened the "flipup" to checkout the pieces and realized that the ship hull consisted of a very few huge pieces. In my mind that event marks a turningpoint that ultimately led to me turning my back on LEGO. Now that I'm older I guess I've come to terms with it. Because it doesn't bother me as much as it used to do.
  3. To be successfull with snotting you need to know the dimension of the LEGO brick. A stud is 2.5 plates in width. Two studs is 5 plates in width. So therefore 5 2 x 2 plates stacked on each other form a perfect cube. And because this "snotbrick" is 3 plates high, half a plate higher than a stud is wide, you need to add two plates to get the correct distanse, 2.5 plates, between the side studs. If you need the grip of every stud attached you could use this bracket, wich ofcourse is 5 plates high. However it has the disadvantage of sticking out half a plate on the side.
  4. Yes, I realize that. What I meant was that we should enlighten Vestas on the fact that there is indeed a potential market for their product in a LEGO-version and that they can make money on a public release. Sure they have a former LEGO employee as a CEO but I believe he's unaware about the buzz this set has caused.
  5. I don't think it's that easy. Vestas has most likely paid a lot of cash for this exklusive so I don't think that they're so keen on letting LEGO make a public release of it just like that. So I guess it's time we start mass-mailing Vestas instead of LEGO.
  6. Hehe it's hard to miss when you get it dumped in your knee by the organizer behind last years brickfilmfestival. Not sure if I'm up to plan for some massive turnup of AFOLS. I've had a kind of breakthrough in the MOC I'm building so right now all spare time is all about building. :) And also I'm not even going. :( I have to choose between this festival and three-four months of LEGO purchases. :(
  7. Last year there were a brickfilm festival in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. This year the festival is "absorbed" by Uppsala International shortfilm festival. There will be a 90 minute long program that will be shown twice. 24 October it will be shown at "Grand" and 25 October it will be shown at "Filmstaden". A little tip if you are in or near Uppsala, Sweden that weekend. Or just very exited by brickfilms!
  8. Sure we need more than one Good wizard! How else are we going to be able to sell it to the Americans, who didn't get it at all, for overprices?
  9. Nice! It seems like they're all there but some seems to be hard to find. E.g: that tan 1x6x5 panel seems to only be found by selecting "Yellow" in the "Color family" dropdown.
  10. The situation is the same here in north of sweden it seems. In one of the toystores I visit frequently they've overflown that yellow "impulsestand" onto a whole shelf... However it seems like Troll Warrior has replaced the good wizard. Because that wizard is nowere to be found. Other than on S@H.
  11. So I'm guessing that this is the new story driven theme that the creator of bionicles are working on. Therefore it's no suprise that there is large, kind of "overmolded", pieces... And thoose orange mudguards look like something I could use. Just unfortunate that they seem to come quite expensively since I'm not that interested in the lime pieces... :(

(I think you got it by now )
  13. Here's the picture with "improved lighting": I just hope that it's not as much of an unposeable single piece mold as it looks...
  14. I'm afraid you lost me there... Exchange rates hasent changed *that* dramatically over the last three months, has they? I don't think that DKK has dropped by some 30% recently. Or am I totaly missreading you here. Buiness economics aren't directly my strong side. ;) And as far as I remember the european price on the 10188 skyrocketed becasue of an information misstake as the set was actually larger (piecewise/minifigcount) when released than was originally planned. So I'm wondering if this set was originally planned to be bigger than it is... The point I was trying to make is that it seems like the people at LEGO responsible for the European pricing doesn't seem to be 100% on top of things. And are wondering if we will continue to see sets that are released with suprisingly high/low prices that changes whitin a few days.
  15. It seems like there's been a few misshaps in European pricings lately... First there's the 10188 Death Star that goes up by almost 20% and now this set dropping 30% i price. Both whitin the first five days after "release" on S@H. Ok, two misshaps in three months isn't that much but, after all, this is two quite spectacular changes in price. I guess it could be that the latest change is a result of poor sales in combination with the pricebashing in this forum. But still the original price was extremely high for a non-licensed set.
  16. It's kind of funny to see Americans talk about how expensive it is and then go to S@H and find that it in sweden it's insanely cheap with a pricetag as low as $157.921 USD. It's so overpriced one can only wonder if there are a license buried in there somewhere. I would expect this price on a Star Wars set not one of "their own" sets... I'm not going to buy that set at that price, period! However there seems to be a trend that the factory sets start out expensive and then get cheaper. Take the Creator Space sets for instance. If I remember the launch price correctly their prices has dropped by about $37 since then. I expect that this set will go the same way. I might buy the set if it drops to about the same pricelevel as the factory space sets has now...
  17. Since this is a factory set does that mean that we will see an update to PaB soon?
  18. Yes they were posted a few days ago here and has been discussed both in that thread and in the other power miners thread from this post and on. As I commented in one of the other threads I think the colorscheme looks a little too <insert that tiresome argument> with the bright green and bright red/orange and light blue helmets. But if that green is sand green I'll buy loads of it. Can't say much about the actual designs though as the pics are in too bad quality to really tell. But some of them seems to look good and some don't. But I really need to see better pics before I can tell for sure.
  19. Hehe! I guess this is LEGO giving back for the "overprices" they charge in Europe. Now we can get some of the money back by selling this set expensive to the americans...
  20. I think the color scheme feels kind of <insert that tiresome argument>. I'm really hoping that that light green color is sand green but from what I've in sets seen lately I really think it's going to be lime. :(
  21. Is it one set of windows (one wide window with two smaller windows above) that is to be ten studs wide or is it both?
  22. OOooOOooOOH magic!! But your'e right the article is now corrected. Somehow the meaning of the article is still wrong though. Or am I wrong? I thought most of those characters were turned into minifigs due to retrieved licenses... ;)
  23. Yes I thought the same too first. But no, that is what it really says... Here is a complete translation of the article: "Being a moviestar with classic roles in the bagage isn't only red carpets and tabloid headlines. If you are lucky you'll also end up as a minifig. It's the LEGO company celebrating it's 30th birthday by adding some movie heroes and heroinnes to it's assortment of minifigs. Amongst others Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones and Han Solo, Christian Bale's Batman and Christina Ricci's Trixie are some of the characters that are honored with their own minifig"
  24. According to this article (in swedish) posted today in the swedish newspaper "Aftonbladet" TLC is celebrating 30 years (Yes the company!!) by turning some well known moviecharacters like Christian Bale's Batman and Harrison Ford's Han Solo & Indiana Jones into minifigs. Intresting news that seems to have passed me by completely! So I guess a happy 30 Years LEGO is in place!
