  1. Haha I thought I knew exactly what was on S@H but it turns out to be just a minor form of megalomania. Oh well... I'm gonna buy it as the 50-years-celebration-set it is and keep it as MISB as it's not even close to being woth buying for the minifigs. Specially since I could get a bunch of that red spacemen, with the true vintage feel, for the same money as a single one of theese sets on bricklink. Even if I bought the most expensive ones with the thin chinstrap in mint condition...
  2. So I was on S@H in a totaly different errand and stumbled over this. I didn't find any post about this. Sorry if it is posted already... Anyhow... As was expected this minifig pack doesn't come cheap. Still a bit sad about the not-so-vintage-vintage-spaceman. :/ But I'll still buy a couple of it anyway.
  3. Not really. I already know what set it's from. ;) It's from 7886 The Batcycle™: Harley Quinn’s Hammer Truck
  4. I don't think anyone missed the sudden increase in the Price for the 10188 Death Star set on the European and Australian market. While other sets, like the two factory space sets, have actually become cheaper. What's the reasons behind theese shifts in prices. Should we be expecting sudden priceadjustments like this or is it something temporary?
  5. I believe that this was a planned thing. If it was a misstake we would have seen this in one or two countries. Not every country. And even if it was a misstake they wont be able to later on come and demand more money. At least in Sweden I think it's considered to be a contract as soon as you submit your order. A contract that applies to both parties. And for lego to charge extra because of a misstake they've done I beleave would be illegal. At least it would generate a whole lot of "badwill". Guessing it has to do with VAT, cheaper transports, low wages, tougher competion on the toy market, etc.. I don't think that there really is a simple answer to that question...
  6. Swedens S@H has also increased the price on the Death Star set. Not by quite as much as in UK. But it's still a lot cheaper for the britts though... :(
  7. I always thought that that grey thing on top of the rocket was some kind of satelite... I had this set as a kid and I don't think there was a technic axle inside that rocket, but if I remember correctly some of the later CS rockets did.
  8. Oh I forgot that the US folks are so "spoiled" when it comes to Lego set Prices. It'll probably go for $90 - $94 USD "over there" if not for even less.
  9. Didn't see this posted anywhere else but I just saw that the awaited Mars Mission MT-201 Ultra-Drill Walker set is released in Europe. Unfortunatly price is pretty steep, its 949 SEK, about $156 USD, for 759 pieces in swedish S@H. So since I have so much other LEGO I need to buy I'll probably let this one slip. :(
  10. Oh man! My wishlist is sooooooo long... I want: - 3 x 3 macaronies. - Macaroni plates - Macaroni Tiles - Macaroni bricks with a "cut out" in the size of a 1x1 brick at one end. To radically simplyfy connectiong a makaroni built bend to another structure. - Wedgeplates, like this one, whitout the corners cut. - Just about every piece in the brick wishlist group on flickr. - "platinum blonde" hairpieces. But I guess thats more of a colorwish than a mold wish. - A half length lightsabre blade. (2 studs long instead of 4) - A 2 x 1 Brick with hollow studs that you can put a lightsabre blade, antenna, etc all the way through. - A long technic pin with a stud on one side. - A half version of this piece. - A 2x2 cone with a hollow stud wich you can actually get a Fibreoptic cable through. - A powerfunctions IR reciever where the actual reciever is attached throuh a cable so the rest of that BURB (Big Ugly Reciever Brick) can be hidden inside the structure. A smaller IR Brick will do to... - I want cutlery for my restaurant MOC!! ... And lots and lots of more pieces...
  11. Nathan Sawaya is the man! He is responsible for a lot of the cool Lego Art out there. Like the yellow man ripping himself up, the blue guy buildning himself from lego pieces, the Lego-iphone, the Master Chief bust as well as being one of the Lego Master Model Builders who built a life size Volvo XC90. And yes he always glues his sculptures.
  12. You know that we Europeans can say exactly the same about you Americans. ;) Not only do you get some sets long before we do. You also get sets that we won't get at all(!) and to add to that you get your LEGO much cheaper than we do.
  13. As stated above the collectors Catalogue is more of a set reference and this book is a summary, I think, of the LEGObricks history.
  14. So there's a new 63 page book available on S@H titled "50 Years of the Lego Brick". It includes a copy of the patent from 1958, reprints of 1963 and 1969 System catalogues, six red 2 x 4 bricks, golden brick stickers. Looks intresting and is probably a perfect conversationstarter. "Oh I remember how fun I had with LEGO as a kid...". One complaint though is that I would have preffered real golden bricks, even if it's only one, instead of golden brick stickers and six red bricks.
  15. Yes there were some instructions way back that did this. Amongst others the instructions for 6054 Forestmen's Hideout used this.
  16. I don't own the actual brick so I dont know it's length or strength but why not make a house with a working elevator? Or kind of working since it'll always go to the top floor. ;)
  17. Yes thats the one And thanks for the info on the cargo plane.
  18. That 4x4x3 (If my eyemeasurment works as it should) curved slope in the center of the convertible front looks new or has it been used elsewere? It looks to be a new angle on it too.
  19. It seems like its only available in US and Canada right now. I guess we Europeans will have to wait for it a while longer. :(
  20. While waiting for my turn at my local bank office.
  21. Theese sets has been available in swedish S@H for about week or two. I think they popped up about the same time as the other may releases.
  22. It's a shame if the classic-space minifig has the newer helmet. Since that wouldn't make it an authentic classic-space minifig. If I remember correctly when they replaced the helmets they also redesigned the whole minifig giving us the futuron minifig. If it is a classic helmet I'll try to get a bunch of theese before it sells out. Otherwise I'll most likely only buy one or two, depending on the price, and keep them as MISB.
  23. I kind of like the set. As said it has a very cartoonish style to it so I'm guessing the kids are going to love it. And as a parent I'll love it if the construction isn't to fragile. ;) I'll probably be getting a few for myself but only as parts pack. Yeah and it's all over this years releases. From what I've seen so far it's found in: racers, Speed Racers, Mars Mission and Exo-Force sets. I just wish that instead of a 2x1 plate with an exhaustpipe in each end they would have made it an 1x1 plate with a single exhaust. That would have been a lot more useful.
  24. In one of the movies in a swedish series of coupmovies called "Jönssonligan" they use a remote controlled Lego robot in a heist. If I remember correctly it was used to disable an alarmsystem or something like that. Amongst other things it could climb a staircase.
  25. The piece is new for this year and is available in at least seven sets in theese four colors: white, light bley, dark bley and red. And I think they'll rather complement click hinges than replace them. Since where click-hinges offer strength theese offer poseability.
