Checked two Targets. Didn’t have anything but had the prices up for the new sets

What time do sets typically get announced? If I remember the past few months correctly, I believe it was around 9AM PST.

Oh nice! I’ll have to check it out sometime. I’m 5 minutes away from the store in Glendale, so as long as they have curbside pickup Ill just grab it there. Think there’s another in Westfield Topanga as well - pretty fortunate to be in LA

Unfortunately I think they’re doing curbside pick up only right now (Los Angeles is still closed down). Hoping they will open up before September 1st...

Does anywhere on DA sell Butterbeer?

Damn, I'm really not a huge minifigure person, but some of these will look mighty good in Diagon Alley. The butterbeers make me want a D2C Hogsmeade next

How the hell have we not had an official CMF reveal as they are being found in the US - even before this year’s sets! You would think once the leak and everything came out they would go ahead and do it. Maybe they have its reveal alongside DA in some kind of Harry Potter celebration.

I think if there were going to be delays for D2C we would have experienced it with the NES and Mickey/Minnie. Regardless, I don't even mind waiting a bit as long as I can see it. I just want to know it exists lol

Anyone else think the wait would be much easier if they just showed the damn thing lol doesn't help that I've been stuck at home for the last 6 months. Also, don't know if it means anything, but the 2018 Hogwarts Lego Designer Video Review came out on August 11, 2018

When do they typically announce GWP’s? And is there always a new one every month?

Fair enough, I’m putting words in their mouth, but with how they have been treating their sets lately with all the details and accuracy, I could see how they would approach the set wanting it to be as definitive as possible. Like I said earlier, if they let us know on the DA reveal that an massively detailed Gringotts is coming next year as you’re describing, I wouldn’t be totally upset. I’m just worried a set focusing on “Escape from Gringotts” will focus more on the playability of a roller coaster and a dragon more than the exterior/interior of a Gringotts to put with DA. I would imagine more of a Battle of Hoth scenario where we get a small outline of the base with a bunch of disconnected pieces. If they made a $200 UCS Gringotts next year to go with a 5000 piece Shoppes of DA then sure sign me up! I just don’t think we’ll get that. Also, you act like Gringott’s being added is some insane “magical” thing if the stickers didn’t leak I don’t think anyone here would assume Gringotts wouldn’t be included! Or maybe someone questioned it early on who knows, but I would say still it’s more likely in than out.

Exactly my thoughts. Honestly, if they officially reveal DA and it doesn’t have Gringotts, I don’t know how they will be able to keep a straight face while explaining how it’s the definitive DA set. And yea, to charge people $400 just to tell them they have an incomplete set is not a great look. And for anyone mentioning 2018 Hogwarts not being complete, I think everyone is aware that having an entire Hogwarts is unfathomable given the size.

Anticipate the D2C Gringotts of course! Good to hear other’s were having the same issues, I was hesitating visiting the site since Safari was very adamant that it was unsafe - thought maybe came and delivered the DA leaks! Lol

I rediscovered Lego and found this forum because of Covid. Started with the Lego Treehouse and now back to Harry Potter :) thank you all for helping me pass the time and hyping me up for potentially the best Lego set of all time! just to make sure, are we 100% sure on the September 1st release date? Want to make sure I am prepared for all scenarios.

That would actually be so cool! Though personally I think they’re going to go the one sided street route. I think the best set that captures the liveliness of a street or city is the Ninjago City D2C. I know that structure is different, but I LOVE how busy it feels. Hoping this one feels the same :)

The same reason 2018 Hogwarts doesn’t look like every other Hogwarts preceding it. The Lego designers with this line understand that adults want accurate sets, and a $400 set is most definitely catering to an older audience.

I’m putting my money down on August 18th for the announcement date. Hope it’s earlier but 2 weeks in between sounds reasonable

Looks like the latest leak is bringing out the whole gang nice to see so many new faces! I am going to be ok without Gringotts IF, and that’s a big if, there is a set next year that has a highly detailed Gringotts. Not a play set, like a legit D2C style in the same detail as the buildings in this set. If it’s just a one sided exterior with a dragon chase theme then I would rather separate that entirely from what this set is - a show piece. Still though, knowing that we would have to wait yet another year to finish what we thought we would be getting on September 1st is definitely a bit of a hype deflator. Best case scenario imo is that this set is like 5500 pieces and we just get everything so everyone is happy :) I doubt we will get a full sized Leaky Cauldron though that seems to be the first to go.

If a Gringotts set came out alongside DA, now THAT would be something best of both worlds except for those who have $400 but not $500 lol

Man I kind of wished the sticker sheet didn’t leak now because this conversation isn’t fun. Don’t think we’re going to be able to celebrate the set until it is officially revealed and we can all come to terms with the result if they for some ridiculous reason dont Include it, they better let us know immediately that we can expect one soon. I don’t need a year with no official statement from Lego. Also, if we do get Gringotts next year, I don’t see how a $100 set is going to get us anything that is more detailed than what we would Already get in this set. I don’t really need the dragon personally.

The only problem with that is that the sticker sheets are labeled A,B,C, and D. If Olivander’s had more stickers, I think it would be on the A sheet? Also, what is the sticker about his store name? I can’t seem to figure it out but it looks like a potential box.
