Because 2018 D2C was announced on July 25th and not a week before it came out
-
You gave me a small heart attack not gonna lie lol
-
At Target? Where at the store do you typically find them? Are they always near the Lego aisle?
-
That’s hyping up the small active fan base on a place like Eurobricks, though. I’m talking about the average person who doesn’t follow Lego as deeply - they will see “New $400 Harry Potter set” on mainstream sites, the same way the Lego NES reached out to an audience outside of Lego. I remember hearing about 2018 Hogwarts on a gaming forum, I wasn’t following Lego at the time. The big licensed sets make the rounds on the internet once they are officially revealed.
-
Why does Lego insist on making this reveal as un-hype as possible. Another company has been doing that this year, Nintendo. They just Shadow drop game announcements on Twitter instead of hyping up a Nintendo Direct or announcement. It’s like they don’t want us to look forward to anything.
-
You can’t build hype if no one knows the thing exists in the first place we are an extremely small subset of fans that pay attention to leaks and future Lego sets
-
They’ll all have multiple floors to be consistent but not all will have content on the second floor. Man so much has happened this week I don’t even know if I’m going to be able to fully enjoy DA this week :( I really wish we weren’t in the world state we are in currently
-
Oh for the full reveal yea. I include an event announcement or teaser as well - anything that gives us proof this thing exists.
-
Just wanted to put it out there that I predicted August 18th reveal a couple months ago, so tomorrow’s the big day
-
At this rate someone is going to find Diagon Alley at a Home Depot
-
Seriously, I’ve been dying to hear more about the Harry Potter game, which was supposed to be revealed during E3. I’m afraid that they’re scared to announce it given how woke the game industry is and how we’re not allowed to support such a transphobic franchise anymore lmao Anyways, we don’t need to go through that rabbit hole again.
-
Nah don’t worry, all your favorite characters will come in future year D2C’s, this set is to flesh out the alley
-
As long as it’s not as flat and straight as the pop-up book someone posted earlier. I don’t need like extreme crookedness, but the street needs to have character!
-
Who leaked the sticker sheet? Imagine how we would feel without mini_legogo saving us from this void of information
-
Aghhhh, well at least it was Harry Potter related this time. A good sign that this is the week if any.
-
Hoping to wake up tomorrow to some good news! Fingers crossed ?
-
I would put $200 down on it happening within the next 5 days. Not enough consistency in releases to predict which day it will be, but I could see a teaser/Q&A announcement tomorrow with a reveal on Wednesday or Friday
-
Hasn’t been the best weekend for me, but hey at least life distracted me enough that next week starts tomorrow. DA will hopefully brighten up life this week :)
-
It’s way too easy to take the information we know and make a realistic word document. Also, love how they took the picture at an angle, a real “leak” move hahaha
-
Is this an “I open at the close” riddle
-
@sebastian666 I really hope there aren’t too many doubles. It’ll be hard to display the set the way I’m imagining if it’s split timelines. Do we know anyone in the series who’s connected to Scribbulus? I have no idea If it’s even mentioned in the books or movies
-
The way Lego has been handling the Ninjago D2C’s makes me confident that they will handle DA just as well :)
-
That’s true, though with the description basically being confirmed as real, I think that is pretty damning evidence of no Gringotts, especially as it goes out of its way to explain how you could use every building. But I agree, the discussion feels a little premature without all the answers
-
Also a good point! I think this debate will be more productive once we have all the details. I do sincerely enjoy having debates like this though. People having strong enough opinions to make their case is always a fun exercise.
-
To be fair, he did make the point that many people who can’t afford the DA set still want a piece of it, so Lego is actually helping out the “consumer”. We here are a different breed than the average Lego consumer. I’m not really arguing that, I just want Gringotts in DA because I’m selfish and want what’s ideal for me Doesn’t mean we don’t understand whatever their decision is. I don’t like the feeling of condescension though, intentional or not.
