The WWW size doesn’t bother me as much. What would bother me is if we don’t get a Gringotts that towers over the street. Like I mentioned earlier, I think these buildings were designed to fit with each other back to back, that is Olivander’s/Scribbulus joining with F&B/FF and QQS connecting behind WWW. For this reason QQS has this awkward shape that I think is bothering a few people. It’s also probably why WWW isn’t as tall as it could be. Personally, as someone who doesn’t care about the open backs, I wish we took out the extra QQS floor and put it onto WWW, but either way I’m so excited!

Yea I read that in the full transcript, but is top 7 or 8 worth the evergreen title? I certainly hope so, it’s the only other line I buy from excluding Lego Ideas/Creator Expert! Also, never thought I would make it to my birthday without an official reveal for Diagon Alley! Gonna celebrate today with Hogwarts Express :)

I looked up the 2019 Financial results and they list the top selling themes as Lego City, Lego Marvel Super Heroes, Lego Friends, Lego Classic, Lego Star Wars, and Lego Technic. Is anyone else worried that 2021 might be the last year for this Harry Potter run? I only say that because it will be containing the last two movies. That’s also why I was asking about Lego theme sales yesterday - I’m hoping HP does well enough to justify a permanent-ish spot in Lego’s arsenal like Star Wars

The one rendered picture with all the buildings separate makes it look more like hot pink, but if you check the video clip with the Weasley twin actors, it definitely looks more like the salmon pink. Definitely would hold complete judgement until Monday! It really doesn’t bother me anymore, I just love the set so much and can’t wait to have it!

I agree that the new Harry Potter line in general has tried to cater to a more broad audience, but I don’t really see QQS being part of that mindset. I truly believe the set is Just going for 100% movie accuracy. And not to say girls don’t have a historical bias towards pink, but I really don’t think the pink color is any more enticing to girls than a red/gold color. Diagon Alley is pretty universally loved.

Does anyone know why previous Diagon Alley builds didn’t have QQS as a pink building? I think part of the reason everyone was a bit surprised was because until now, QQS has been considered red and gold (look at micro scale DA). Also, anyone in LA have any luck finding CMF #2?

Yea makes sense. Lego doesn’t really have competition, so there’s really no reason to share that kind of info. Still, would be super interesting to see how different themes perform.

Just because it’s not the GWP for September doesn’t mean it won’t be a GWP down the line. My money is still on it being a GWP for November.

Looks great! I wonder how easy this will be to do without ruining the interior, however. I find it annoying that this shape of the building had to happen so it can connect with WWW. I’m sure the majority of people getting this set want to display it horizontally with the interiors stick out in the back.

Yea, I’m probably one of the few people here who really don’t mind small minifigure inconsistencies or having original prints, but the trio’s clothes are pretty underwhelming. It helps a lot knowing we will be getting the outfits that will fit better (PS Harry), but if that wasn’t known I would be a bit upset that we don’t have more specific and unique options.

I feel a bit bad about the leaks now that we see the creators asking for us not to spoil anything. :( Hope he doesn’t read this forum otherwise he’ll see a lot of nitpicking. Hope he knows how much we appreciate him!

Yea I got that impression as well when I reached out to him. Glad he was involved - I love all of his work! And I feel DA has some similar builds to the Disney sets.

Hmmm, well maybe I’m wrong. Wish Lego gave out sales numbers. Regardless, I think Diagon Alley is going to be a smash hit. And hopefully that’s true so they continue to invest in it! When did we figure out that that GWP was coming? Olivander was leaked early but not sure when the connection between the two became clear

I personally disagree, and I was the main audience for the Ideas Piano! 1. If price is an issue, the person won’t get either set. If they are willing to pay 350, then they are willing to pay 400. 2. The piano is VERY expensive for what you get in lost people’s lives yes. DA is pretty easily justified with what you’re getting. 3. Not an HP fan =/= piano fan. Both are specific markets, but piano isn’t even more niche

Pretty disappointed if those are the GWP’s. Would rather have what we were predicting (Dirty Harry with brick wall). Though if people were remembering correctly, the micro scale DA GWP didn’t come until November or so?

That’s not necessarily confirmed, just one employee at a random Lego store said. I’m sure a lot of them will have more than 4, but I guess who knows at this point.

Nice edits! None of those colors are working for me, though. I think a consistent red is the only thing I could consider changing it too. Does anyone know the street order of the other side? Are there enough well-known buildings to make another D2C? Besides Gringotts that is.

The alternate face is the same, but the torso on the leaked one is from PS, the one in the set is CoS Harry.
