  1. We will surely go forward with the contest. Not entirely sure about the rules, since I have little knowledge of GBC. But I will check my PM’s because we were already planning something a while ago.
  2. While your objections and issues are very valid, I do tend to agree with @howitzer. For this contest, there's no real need to have the modules connected and be 100% compliant. It's about having some fun times with GBC's and maybe pull a couple of members out of their comfort zone.
  3. Great Brick Contraptions?! The concept is called Great Ball Contraptions, so let's use Balls.
  4. Don't worry about the balls. We won't be strict about the use of "official balls".
  5. That's not entirely true. Lots of cool GBC contraptions can be made as C-models. (and yes, maybe they do need assistance, but that still makes them worth building) A lot of cool stuff can be found here: https://pv-productions.com/product-category/building-instructions/
  6. As you can see there were 4 contests before we started using the [TC] tag, so we started at [TC5].
  7. These balls will be allowed: https://pv-productions.com/product/lego-gbc-balls/
  8. So the title of the contest who be "Who has the balls....to join this contest?!"
  9. In the Index there is a list with all contests. You can find the link to the entry topic there. Or simply google “Eurobricks TC19 entry topic”
  10. For me the potential number of participants is more important. We all like to look at GBC, so there will be enough interest to check out the contraptions. But having 100 people looking at 2 entries isn't what I'm aiming at.
  11. I haven't really thought about the pratical implications. And I am most definitely not a GBC expert. Alternatively, we could do a GBC theme month or something.
  12. Since 20 points and old F1 style are neck and neck, it's not likely that we will change the voting scheme. At the end of the day, the top-3, or top-5, or top-10 will probably the same. 20 points tends to be more friendly for the lower ranked entries. I'm not opposed to trying it out one day, but I do need to alter the tally software for that.
  13. We still haven't fixed the poll, but I will give it a try. For those of you interested, fill out the elaborate poll
  14. To be honest; I am not sure whether GBC will generate enough interest, so I have started a topic to see who would join.
  15. There have been requests for a GBC contest, but I am not sure whether it will generate enough interest. So here's my question; Who will join a GBC contest if we start one?
  16. Well, I am thinking about something with four wheels. Something I have been pondering over for a while now. But I need to run it by @Milan and maybe some other members to check how we can proceed. (this will not be an off-road truck competition, but we do something like that in the future) We also had done some preparations for a GBC contest. We can continue with that, but I would like someone else (@Milan?) to take the lead in organizing it (creating the topics, arranging the prizes we had prepared etc)
  17. @MajklSpajkl is probably the first member to win all three different medals.

  19. I will close the voting shortly (or at least try to do that). There will be no second stage this time.
  20. This is absolutely brilliant!! Such a compact build. Well deserved frontpage!
