Generic Contest Discussion
Jim replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I know we are all eager for a new contest, but I hardly see any voting going on. I won't be doing another contest if we don't have enough members who are willing to vote. Hosting and participating in contests needs to cut both ways. Please vote! -

I think I have that covered for the contest later this year :D -
Amazing work! What I even find more amazing is this... "By drakmin, July 15, 2012" It's over ten years now since you started this project and the project is still alive

https://www.nkubate.com/concept-car/ This but in a slightly smaller scale. I do have something else in mind for the contest later this year, but I do like this idea. -

This has been on my mind (and on my list) for quite some time. -

Yup, feels like a different contest to me. -

Technically this doesn't matter if there is not part count limit. Of course, it get's more interesting if the number of left-over parts is as small as possible for each set. Then we need some sort of rule. Either way, this will be a complicated contest. Designing one model is hard, two is even harder and designing four might be too much for lots of builders. Interesting idea though. -

I am probably with you on this one. -

Maybe just a bounding box limit? That's a difficult one. -

We did have some contests during Spring and Summer, so it's no problem. I am trying to figure out what kind of contest would fit Spring and/or Summer. -

Lol. It will be easy to see, even with bright sunlight. I'm trying to figure out if there is a lot of interest to have an active contest during the Summer. I do think I will save my idea for the end of the year. So we can do the shrink contest in the Summer. -

It will be something which is very easy to enter. Just some (easy to implement) color restrictions. -

That is on my shortlist, but it feels like a small contest to squeeze in at some point. Not one for an entire summer. But if you all think otherwise, I am okay with it. -

Since the current contest is about to end, I have been thinking about a new one. I know there are some popular smaller ideas to keep us busy. I also have an idea for something to keep us busy during the summer months. This contest can run a bit longer, since we all have lots of other stuff to do during the summer period. What are your thoughts on building during the summer period? Do you still build a lot? -

Agreed. Still of my favorites. -
That would be helpful, but I do think the rules are pretty much the same for all fan media. I do have a meeting planned with someone from TLG during the event to talk about EB and related stuff. The second hand store? I think some of us visited it last time. Not sure if it's good or not.
