  1. TLG has moved the embargo on the 42159 set at the last moment. But not everybody got the memo. TLG being TLG.
  2. The balance will be somewhere in the middle. It's not all about how much you can scale down. It's about staying true to the original as well. Scaling down to a "10 euro set size" will probably not result in a winning entry.
  3. It sure is generating a lot of interest More than I expected tbh
  4. This. It seems to be a simple adapter. Outlet to USB. But we can dream, can't we
  5. Now that I am on a desktop, I see the links in your signature. They weren't visible on mobile. You indeed know the answer
  6. It’s TC25. You probably know the rules by now. So you know best. I’m just looking at a picture without additional information
  7. Yeah sure. Those kind of modifications are definitely okay.
  8. Original sticker sheets are definitely okay. Let’s stick (pun intended) to those.
  9. Let's not do Bionicle, Slizers, Roboriders etc. It's not what we are looking for in this contest.
  10. Read the rules Read the rules Exactly. This is how we have done it in the past if I am not mistaken.
  11. O wow, already a lot of WIP topics. That is so cool.
  12. OMG here we go again I will make it easy for everyone and for myself (sorry @JoKo); NO electronics, NO lights, NO leds, NO lightbricks. @JoKo Let me know if you already ordered ten lightbricks for your build
  13. It is probably inevitable, so there are no limitations for choosing the same set.
  14. I'm afraid we need to disqualify your TC21 entry I'm okay with using that technique.
  15. Be careful with quoting an entire post. I have edited your comment. Thanks!
  16. I know you are good at recreating sets, so we will watch your career with great interest (insert Palpatine voice).
  17. That's a difficult one, but since I don't want to open up a can of worms, let's stick to the Technic theme.
  18. Yeah of course. You can add some details here and there, no problem. But like I mentioned, it's not a "make it into a better model contest".
  19. A bit of modernizing is okay (this makes sense when you turn a studded set into a studless set), but I would be careful with adding panels and turning it into a paneled version when the original didn't have panels. This is what we are looking for. Otherwise it will be a "Make an old studded set better" contest.
  20. This is exactly what I am looking for. Changing powered functions to manual functions will definitely NOT lose points. It is one of the reasons we don't allow electronics, to be creative in making manual functions. 1) We don't have set rules, so I can't answer that question properly. 2) I am defintely fine with swapping pneumatics for manual functions (just like swapping electronics to manual functions). This won't affect your score. 3) I would be careful adding stuff that wasn't on the original. The contest is not about making a better version. The contest is about shrinking the original. I would not add a winch if the original doesn't have a winch (for example). If you have a specific thing in mind and you are still hesitant, let me know.
