  4. Hehe nice! Thanks for joining the mini-contest and have fun building the Space Slug.
  5. I agree with your assessment. One thing I'd like to add though. When I was young, I was totally unaware that a set had new parts. They were just....parts. Point being; I am not sure how aware kids are of new parts and how much it matters.
  6. Thanks you sir That was a collateral benefit
  7. Well, it was a combination of things. Siegfried had mentioned he was interested in doing the reviews and at the end of last year I was pressed for time (more or less like I am now). Somehow, I am always quite busy at the end of the year. I have been doing the reviews since there's generally not much interest among other staffers or RA teachers. It's not that I am entitled to the reviews or something. I just have been lucky to be the one in the right place at the right time.
  8. Actually, I expected the review offer already, but I haven't seen it yet. Sidenote; I am really pressed for time at the moment, so if we get the sets, @Milan will most likely be the one to review them.
  9. Some interesting insights, but don't expect to get loads of new information.
  10. Hehe, nothing wrong with a good discussion. As long as we stay nice to each other. We're cool no worries.
  11. Exactly. A Technic car needs to stand out in stores, so bright vibrant colors with flashy stickers. Grannie, mom or dad won't know this car doesn't have extra functions. They will buy it, because kids love cars and this car looks cool. And when the kid looks at the model in stores he will definitely not say "I like this car, but it doesn't have a lot of functions, so I will skip this one". This car has the functions a kid would expect this car to have. No more...no less. Admittedly, I am looking at it from a business point of view, instead of an AFOL point of view. I was disappointed that the 300 euro Porsche didn't have flexible drive height or rear wheel steering. On a 300 euro model, you expect some extra features.
  12. However....don't get me wrong....I would have loved the rally car to have an extra feature. But I can easily accept the fact that this is just a rally car.
  13. For us it might seem as a rehash, for most kids this is new. They will get one or two cars during their active Technic period. So the functions in this car are adequate. When you want more functionality, get an Excavator or Crane Truck or something. Even the Sailing Yacht has some cool functions. I really don't think that kids wanting this car will be disappointed by the lack of functions. They just want this cool looking rally car. And that's just what this is. Looking at Technic cars over time, they didn't have a lot more functions than the current (non-flagship) cars. Mostly suspension and steering. Occasionally there's a winch or something, but that's about it.
  14. You are seriously comparing the 42077 with the 42037?! I get that some of you want it to be a supercar or something, but this is what it is. A cool looking rally car with basic functionality. That is, driving, steering, suspension, opening hood, trunk and that's about it. I fail to see why this is a problem. This thing will probably sell like hot cakes! No need for more than these functions.
  15. I am working on the Creator Expert interview as we speak. I am using software to assist me with transcribing. Works really well, although it is still quite time consuming. However, semi-automated is better than fully manual. The software is quite remarkable, but every now and then you need to change "U.S.'s nose Peter" to "UCS Snow Speeader", but I can live with that When I am done, I need to send the interview to TLG for approval. But it won't be long now
  16. Gearbox....no gearbox....I absolutely LOVE this car. Yes, it's simple...but I could not care less.
  17. Great review for a great set. I love the demonstration videos, especially the ones showing the rollar coaster system. Well done.

    TOO OLD?

Hi @ShayanK65 I has come to our attention that your posting behavior is not what we expect here on EB. And now you are even threatening another member. While we were happy to give you advice and ignore the fact that you are under-aged, I must tell you that you can't go on like this. So, either you shape up and act maturely or we will suspend your account.
  19. Eurobricks member Jeroen Ottens has created yet another this wonderful model packed with functions.Click on this link or on the image to visit the topic.
  20. It does indeed look a lot lighter in these pictures.
  21. That's not what he meant. He means that the 41999 can be built in Medium Blue or Dark Azure, depending on the color of the Rally Car.
  22. I will seriously try to go through the audiofiles. The question has been haunting me in a Creator Expert topic as well. Time to get it off my list.
  23. I will ask him about it. From what I have heard he has been way too busy with dozens of LEGO and non-LEGO related stuff. I will ask him if he can make some time to go through the audio files and transcribe them, before it's yesterdays news.
  24. That's indeed totally different than the one I posted?! It's new-ish for Technic (in Red, been used in the 42070 6x6 and the Ultralight Helicopter) and it has been used in one set in Ninjago in 2012.
