Don't start discussions about copycat products here. Why are we posting these videos?! -

You can build a non-vehicle transformer -

I was not thinking about two different contests, but two different categories within this contest. We can do two different contests, but I am afraid that an animal contest won't generate too much interest. Maybe this one should be a "non-vehicle and non-animal" contest. -

Animal contest will fit the non-vehicle contest. The thing I am contemplating is making two categories: Animal Non-animal (or non biological) -

Maybe it's time for the long overdue NON VEHICLE CONTEST -
Okay cool. Thanks for the insights.

Basically a C-model contest. We have done that in the past and it was fun. -
Okay cool! That’s good to know. Did you use Patreon?

I love that idea. Who is going to count the parts? This is the reason we usually do bounding box limitations (size vs parts). -
Thanks! Yes, that is what we are talking about. I need to look into some sort of Patreon, because there are quite a few people willing to donate a couple of bucks per month/year to remove the ads. And let me be clear; we don't need much. Doesn't cost a fortune to run the site and we don't want to make money. We just want to break even.

You did read my mind...or kinda. I was also thinking about something festive...related to the Holidays. Design a Technic Winter Village set :D Or Technic Christmas set or something like that. -

Lol, we just had a [TC26] 49.5 x 20 Tire Vehicle Contest I don't mind limiting the scope, but I do feel that the Holiday/Winter contest should not be that limiting. -

That is very specific and subjective. -

I like the idea, but I do think it's a bit too niche for a Holiday contest. -

It's very quiet in here. I was expecting lots of questions about the next contest, with the Holidays coming up My plan was to have something running in November, but by now, you know how most of my plans work out But I do think we still need to start something to have you guys building during these cold winter months. -
That would absolutely be helpful! Thanks. If you can provide a screenshot, that would be great. I only see the header at the top and footer at the bottom.
-
Okay I will check it out. We don’t want Ads that make the site unusable. Thanks for pointing it out.
-
I can't find this particular experiment, but I have turned off some settings in Google Adsense. Let me know if you still see those ads.
-
Ahhh sorry, that's what you mean by slide up from the bottom. Let me check...
-
Do we have these btw? The reason I ask is that Google sometimes turns on experimental features that we sometimes know nothing about.
-
We need those Ads to pay the bills. That is the bottom line. We have been thinking about Patreon and other solutions. We need to invest some time to come up with a proper solution, because we don't like the banners either. I can tell you that we will be moving to a new hosting environment next year. We will move to a cheaper solution which will save us money on our monthly bill. Maybe we can turn off the Ads. But we do need to look into a yearly donation of some sort to make sure we can hide these Ads. So, we are working on a solution, but the upgrade to the new platform will take some time.
