Eurobricks 2025 Event Billund - General Discussion First of all, sorry the late announcement. But as you probably experience yourself, life get's in the way sometimes. Or we simply prioritize incorrectly lol. Let me repeat the opening line in the last event's topic "Better late than never" I will add more information to this topic, but let me start by stating the most obvious....when is it taking place? Wednesday the 30th of April 2025 - Sunday May the 4th 2025. Wednesday and Sunday will be travel days, so we will try to plan the activities on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I have created a Sign-up topic and Accomodation topic. For those of you who are new; what do we usually do at an Eurobricks event? Well, depending on the location, this is more or less what you can expect... A visit to LEGOLAND A visit to The LEGO House Lots of fun activities like building contests (with prizes!) Lots of fun and laughter Annual rat spitting competition Optionally a visit to Lalandia for bowling, swimming, mini golf whatever And then some...

And how is that different from a rollercoaster?

Cool. No rush. In the past we purposely avoided this on the forum since we want engagement and not just likes, but maybe the time is right to investigate this option.

Well, there is a "social" option in the forum. We have been testing it. But apparently it's only for the topic, so not posts. Could be wrong though. @aFrInaTi0n might know more about it. Let's find out what he has to say.

That is in fact really stupid. Because I learned when I was 12 years old that you never write these kind of words with double L instead it actually means that something is full. I have seldomly made that mistake since then, but you still caught me. Thanks for pointing it out. Apart from me being stupid, the poll indeed does seem to be working, which is great! I reckon you are not old enough hehe. You will learn to appreciate it. Jokes aside; which buttons do you mean? That was one of the extra goals of moving to a new hosting partner. We are looking into doing something like Patreon, because the existing Ads don't cover the hosting costs. I agree with you on this one. The posts are not clearly separated. We will look into this. I don't think we really need a border between the avatar and the post itself. But we can consider this of course. @aFrInaTi0n Let's see if we can find a screenshot of a page with posts in it. I forgot to make that one, but I'm sure we can access the site on the old server.

Those are the Ads we have been running for years. And those are the ones we really need to generate some sort of revenue. But those Ads weren't enough to pay the bill for the old hosting, so we turned on the Auto Ads in AdSense (Well, Google did that for us automatically). Those Ads showed up at the top and bottom of the site blocking some of the content. They were really nasty and we got rid of them since the update yesterday. But we will still keep the on at the bottom and the two on the sides, because they are not intrusive and they generate a baseline of income for hosting. Maybe the Ad blocker doesn't recognize them anymore. Not sure how your blocker works. But I'm sure you will find out. Which ones did it break? We had some anomalies when it comes to uploaded content or content hosted in different folder. Let us know which ones you are missing and we will check it out.

As you have probably seen, we have upgraded the board and fixed some long lasting issues...hopefull. Let's see if the poll works. Let me know if you run into any issues.

Are you referring to when you are making a new post or editing an existing one? You can simply paste the image url and it will show up as an image. Not sure if that helps. That's interesting. Wasn't aware of the either lol

We are not going Ad-less. That is not possible. But we went back to the footer Ad and the two on the sides (the ones we have been showing for years). We have removed the intrusive Banner and Footer Ads which Google Adsense placed automatically. Which Ads are you still seeing?

So we have upgraded to the new server. And as promised I have turned off the pesky ads. This might take some time to propagate, but they should be gone in a bit. Let me know if they are indeed gone in a couple of days.

Great work on the upgrade!! I'm sure there will be things to iron out, but so far it's looking phenomenal
