This builder had the same question, they started with 'normal' brown decks but they looked too bright so they switched to dark brown later in the thread, and I think the deck looked much better and more fitting. Hope that helps.

Awesome! The whole stern section is great. Just watched the movie yesterday--I like how you included the clergyman tied to the mainmast. Are the sails really just cut out of paper? You did an awesome job on them, I thought they were official TLG for a while.

@Doc: Come back from your rage quit already, just play a fresh 20 like the rest of us. If you're looking to straight out farm (it's extremely boring, I wouldn't recommend it, even for quick Ammys): ~Never drink a HP/MP/Stat Pot unless you drop it on the ground first ~Never use your ability ~Never kill an enemy ~Do shoot once at a tutorial turret. Don't miss! Then go and sit in a godlands train until your fame reaches 230, and then suicide--it'll probably take one to two hours, depending how good the train is. All the (6) fame bonuses from doing the above will take you to 522 fame. Repeat this process 22 times, and you have an Ammy! If you're going to play that character, but want some fame bonuses, I'd go for: ~Accurate (25% accuracy--if you don't naturally have that, leave your character at a tutorial turret for 20 minutes) ~Enemy of the Gods (10% god kills) ~Explorer (1,000,000 tiles uncovered, this is basically just dependent on how long your character manages to stay alive)

Thanks for the review! I'm not at all the LSW fanatic that I used to be, but I have to say that this set looks fantastic. If not for the price tag, this would be my first SW set in over four years--maybe they should make a midi-scale R2-D2 for us cheapskates that want an R2-D2 to display, but can't fork out $180?

Awesome junk! Like the others have said, the sails and cannons are done really well. It would be awesome if you made one of these to go with this ship. Will Bjornu's 'story' be taking him here soon?

I suggest Mystic, then you can do events like Cubes and Skulls more easily. On the subject of Cubes, my Rogue got two of them last night. He ended up dying, which was sad because he was +24 and I lost four def in equips, but: I don't have the right style to play Rogue though (too undisciplined), so I think I'm going to sell my Ammy and max a huntress 3/8 + a bit of speed. @ Costy:

Yeah. If you hop on right now, I can add you. I'm waiting in the EUNorth2 Nexus, let me know here when you come on and I'll find you. :stalker: Never mind, looks like you're gone. I might be on later tonight, I'll try to find you then.

Awesome little lighthouse! The whole thing is spectacular, but one thing that really struck me was how realistic the transitions between deep sea, froth, wet sand, etc were. The 'crenellations' on the tower top look really cool as well.

It's a nice start! However it looks somewhat plain and simple right now--part of it is the dark and blurry pictures, but also I think a black wall on a baseplate isn't very interesting visually. I believe the Coldstream Guard is famous for it's defense of the Hougomont farmhouse: this reminded me of a great Bayonets at Dawn entry, DanMov's Battle of La Haye Sainte, from which you might be able to draw some inspiration on how to vary the structure so it's not 'simply' a wall. Just some suggestions.

I'm writing a paper on the Crusades now, so to see them realized in LEGO form is awesome. Like all of your MOC's, it has a really nice cinematic quality, which is great, and I love the way you made arrows embedded in the ground.

Congrats, Costy! Awesome. Welcome back Hasenklein! Did you return just because I left? And Doc, I'll take all nine of the Dspheres, along with the Magus. I think I can get on around 11 PM EST, would that work for you? If not, I'll PM you the login details of one of my mules.

Nice to know I'm loved. I watched SlugKing's video of the new Oryx, and it looks awesome. Old Oryx was getting rather boring. Although the new one looks like it'll take some taking used to when I return, so I'll probably just stick with Wizzy and spellbomb the Megablocks out of Oryx from afar. Is 8/8 really worth it? Were I the one maxing I'd consider def, spd, atk, and dex to be the only 'necessary' ones: unless you're totally pro vit/mana/life just isn't worth the cost IMO, I'd save the pots to buy better equips/have some left to begin maxing the next char after you (eventually) die. My experience from the times I maxed speed and dex together 'on the go' that when you die and have to play as a fresh level 20 you feel really sluggish, and dodging is extremely hard. Though of course, if you do get those three character slots it's not a problem.

Rage quit! My two-day dying streak of twenty characters (and corresponding loss of five life) is just too much. Makes me realize how much time I waste on this game. And the real-life work is piling up anyways - SATs, exams, crew, etc. . . It's been fun, guildies, I'll be back in the summer.

Congrats to all the winners! Awesome contest. Quite honestly I think a lot of them look much more appealing than the TLG ones - much less bland in terms of building choices, not to mention awesome execution, I think I learned some new techniques just looking at the winners here.

I think you'd find getting pots much easier if you ditched your beloved Pally for a long-ranged class. As far as I'm concerned, it takes a ton of skill to dodge the god's shots with melee classes, let alone hit them: there's so little reaction time when you're just a swordslength away. And if you choose to play wizard, there's a huge advantage when you're a n00b XP new to the godlands: you can spam your spell to instantly kill the 'harder' gods - ie the Leviathan, or even just Slime and Ent gods. And if you're looking for Oryx drops but don't want to get too close, you can just hit him with a couple spells during the Artifacts phase, and you've more than qualified for a soulbound. Since I switched back to my Wizzy a day ago, I've gotten drops from 2/2 Oryx's, together worth about 5 def.

Eurobrick's 4th LDD RCB
Skipper replied to Piratedave84's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Whoa, that LDD file nearly crashed my computer. Great job everyone, and thanks to PirateDave for hosting! Beyond basic colorscheme/minifigures, the two aren't really comparable. If I remember correctly the largest Pirates fortification, the ITP, has just over 600 pieces, whereas this clocks in at 5200. And the RCB has (I think) 19 minifigurers, whereas the ITP has nine. -
Lost my EP earlier. Needed the last push to crack a crystal, so I went inside and I guess I lagged just as it cracked or something, and got massively shotgunned. And then I lost my Covert. I was leveling in an UDL with a mob, when, guess what, I lagged and died right after reaching 20. Good times.

I said I would do it already! Stop pressuring me! Anyone else here use Muledump? I'm interested to see what you all have. Here's mine, which I'm pretty proud of, although it's miniscule compared to these.

I was just about to post and say that although the day was terrible, I finished it with a well equipped Huntress with above-average stats. Then i decided to go in for one last spin, and died. Doc, which classes have you reached 400 fame with? For me it's only Archer and Wizard, I've been trying for a while to get Huntress but somehow I just can't seem to break the 250 fame mark.

Great ship already! I agree with Horry on everything but the curve; I think it's perfect, not to big at all if you compare it to plans of say the HMS Speedy. I'm only not sure if she needs such a large tumblehome (although part of it is that she's too tall and thus looks like a larger ship thus needing tumblehome): and I would build a more curved front, I don't think ships this small had a head. Hope that helps.

Welcome to the guild, Calanon! I've opened up my Ammy selling thread here, if any of you want to buy it go ahead.

Awesome classic galleon! The whole stern section with the white arches is really pretty. Looking forward to seeing her updated rig.
-
Yeah, that's probably it; I usually lose one ~200 fame character a day. Any suggestions on what I should ask for when I open a selling topic in the Wildshadow Forums? Ideally I would want about 180 pure def, but as an unknown noob player it'll be hard for me to convince people that I'm trustworthy. Thus I'm thinking to do it just in one trade. Which of the T12's is easiest to sell (I'm not going to go running around with a Covert and Hydra, given my death rate )? Or should I just name my price and ask for offers?

Those mobs are amazing for leveling up. You can obliterate huge groups of them in a second if you have a good trap. In other news, I'm only around 200 fame away from buying an Ammy now. I guess that proves my addiction, an Ammy in two months! Unfortunately I"m away on my sister's college tours, and the internet speed (and thus the game) at the hotel is slooooww, so it'll have to wait.
