  1. I don't know about the Batman ones specifically but I know that for the PotC game the ships were designed in LEGO first--Derfel Cardarn linked the Flying Dutchman, and some people on EB have reconstructed the Black Pearl (can't remember who though). So, even though I haven't looked at the Batman games at all, I'd guess that you should be able to translate the models from the game to plastic. Edit: I type too slowly, I see Doc beat me.
  2. Megablocks, how many Imperial Flagships do you guys own?! Brickworld looks awesome, wish I could go. Awesome display, really enjoyed looking through the flickr gallery because there's always another funny detail/scene that I missed before. The dark red building on the waterfront (Governor's mansion?) is one of my favorite buildings, along with the temple. Congrats on the win!
  3. Ouch. He must've had a ton of fame though (~1500?), our Guild Fame is up to nearly 53,000! Just 47,000 to go! : I'm going on vacation starting tomorrow, so if you don't see me, I haven't ragequit. Be back in a week. I'll miss you, K-nut! Possibly
  4. Cuz I iz angry. I might not, I don't know--I'm going out of town in a couple days, and I really want to get my Vikings review finished before then, so . . .
  5. Wow, awesome that you're getting to display it in public! Really cool to look closely at the MOC, and see how all the bricks fit together to make the roofs, windows, etc. while still being really smooth.
  6. Seeing this MOC, I had to go read A Sound of Thunder. Brilliant adaptation, the path is exactly as I imagine it, and the T-Rex looks amazing there, I love the depression that it makes in the grass. Awesome.
  7. I got a black screen when trying to get into a Sprite World, and couldn't connect because of a 'load error' for a couple hours afterwards to see if my character was still alive. I only just managed to connect, and my Cwand + Divine Tome Priest was dead, to a Djinn who apparently killed me as Sprite World was loading. I quit.
  8. I decided to play again today, and got an Archer to level 20 with a Fey, Gquiver, Hippo, and Para HP. He was doing well, earned a couple Def in just half an hour. I went to get a drink, so I paused him in the middle of the Godlands. Came back, and unpaused right when some guy ran past trailing a Slime God.
  9. Thanks for the review. I've already gotten the general sense of the set through the LEGO.com video, but it's nice to have some larger, still images to look at. About the pictures: you need to grab the URL of the picture itself, not of the flickr page that it's displayed on. When you get to the page with the options for different sizes (640 x 480, 800 x 600, etc), control-click on the picture and select "copy image URL," and use that in your EB post. Hope that helps.
  10. Welcome to EB Haplo! I really like the MOC you showed in the Pirates forum. Indeed it's very hard to build up a collection of the old pirates sets, similiarly to you I only have the Black Seas Barracuda and Imperial Trading Post so far. Trying to get the Eldorado next. Looking forward to more MOCs.
  11. I've said for a while that someone should build our guild hall, I just don't have the skillz. I also tried for a while to build a MOC of a rogue attacking a cube, but, again, my collection/posing skills fail me. The pics in that thread aren't loading for me though . . . can someone deeplink one for me?
  12. Sure, it's somewhat different from the movie Helm's Deep . . . but that was only Peter Jackson's interpretation. Personally I like how this one looks, in addition to being somewhat worn like it's been through a lot of battles, it looks like a part of the mountain, so that overall it just has a really ancient, monolithic look which I really like. Some of the interiors are strange though.
  13. Very nice, looks a bit like a buffed 6263 Imperial Outpost. Lost of nice little humorous touches too. I hope you make more classic-pirates MOC's like this, I love them. Edit: I'm a knight! D: I totally forgot I was getting near 500 posts. =P
  14. Nice, people are modding this set already! Looks very nice, much more formidable. Only thing I will say is that I think you're stretching it in the wrong way; the keep is now far too fat compared to the movie version, if anything the original set should be stretched vertically.
  15. Hmm . . . a lot, actually. Most recently would be the Fantasy Castle line. I was into Star Wars back then, little did I know how much I missed out on. The Crownie figs are of course, amazing, and then there are sets like the Knight's Catapult and Final Joust, which would've been awesome armybuilders at very low prices (10 and 8 USD, respectively), now go for around five times their original price on Ebay. But the one I really regret is not having been born 1.5 decades or so earlier for the launch of the LEGO Pirates line. So many great sets in just the first wave alone! I've only managed to get the BSB and Imperial Trading Post so far, and, with so many awesome new themes that I want (LOTR, for example), I'm torn between capturing all these old sets before they disappear and getting the new products. EDIT: forgot to mention the entire Classic Castle line.
  16. Ah, the balcony looks much better in these photos. I knew they curved out a bit in real life, but (due to the angle of the last shot in the previous set, I think) it looked too protrusive the MOC. From a more aerial view it does look good though. As for the 'stepped' comment, I just find that the 'staircase' method you have for building the galleries makes for an angular cabin interior, which I don't quite like--however in the bottom-right picture of the recent collage, when integrated into the ship, the exterior of the design looks really really good. So yeah, please ignore everything I said. Looking forward to more updates.
  17. Ugh. I come back after my ragequit and start leveling a Necro. Hop into a Manor at level 19, a minion drops a Bone Dagger ( ) . . . and then I die when a crowd of bats corners me and I forget I don't have maxed def. Quitting again for a couple days, which I guess is good anyways. Exam week FTW.
  18. What's happening with the Titan Initiative? The war in Europe's already over! =P

  19. Looks awesome! The interior's always one of my favorite parts of a MOC, so I'm glad you're able to include it in this fantastic ship. On the stern itself--my only criticisms are that I think the balconies were usually recessed as opposed to protruding, and also that the 'stepped' construction of the stern looks odd to me (I prefer Blackmoor's solution). Anyways, keep it up!
  20. This is embarassing. And that's why I shouldn't play on ancient, laggy laptops. RIP my first 4/8. And Darth's 3/8 as well.
  21. I remember seeing an article on CC a while ago on modifying a horse body to make a centaur that involved taking it apart, let me see if I can find it . . . here! Maybe that'll give you some ideas on how to attach the body.
  22. Hmm, why am I so interested in every topic you make? I guess we have the same classical fixation when it comes to LEGO. My favorite is the Lion Knight's castle, something about it looks really epic. It's my desktop now. A project to recreate all of these would be awesome, unfortunately my Classic Castle colleciton is sadly still at 0--I haven't even managed to collect 1/10 of the Classic Pirates sets yet. Thanks for the pics!
  23. Wow, thanks for the review! Just an awesome set, can't wait until I get one. Keep could be a little taller, but that's my only complaint.
  24. Ah yes, this set, I've been meaning to review it for a while. Unfortunately it's a bit dilapidated, and I'm too lazy to go scrounge up the pieces needed for the sails/rig it. Overall I never really liked the set, it looked way too pixellated--even though that gives it a bit of classic LEGO charm, I think it's just downright ugly in some places. In the absence of a better review, I'll post my pics anyways: (Pics of the real ship are not mine, but scrounged from around the internet.) Prow: Obviously, the colors do not match up--however, ship's colorschemes were in fact quite subject to change, so perhaps the designer was just trying to capture the Constellation from a different era. The thing that really bugs me is how fat and inelegant everything is compared to the sleekness of the real ship, but considering that this thing is almost twice as old as I am, it's not too bad. Stern: Again, the old-fashioned techniques don't really look that great. The LEGO version also doesn't capture the roundness of the real one. However if you look at it in a historical context the modern-day USS Constellation's hull may be much more rounded than it was at inception, if it was modified to keep with developments in shipbuilding that favored a more rounded bow/stern for structural stiffness. I have no idea though. Cabin: This angle looks quite nice. Though not accurate the curved bricks up top help the model look much smoother. Bell and 'Hole': Couldn't find any good comparison pics for this section. Why are the decks red? No idea. Wheel and Capstan: In this pic you can clearly see how the cannons are mounted. Too bad they aren't flick-fire. You might also be able to see how the masts are connected to the hull, but if not, it's shown in the next picture: Mast Connection:
  25. 11) Cara: 2 points 31) Roguegang: 2 points 13) Mikel Kalores: 1 point Fantastic entries all around, these three just stood out the most to me, the settings were just captured sooo well.
