  1. I just need to get one more of Series 4 (gnome), then I'll be anxiously awaiting Series 5. The Dwarf will be great for my Kingdom (I doubt I'll get enough to make a separate faction, I might use them like an elite guard for the other dwarves). The Mobster/Mafia Guy is one figure I never thought Lego would make, and they did it pretty well, especially the 'violin' case. The Boxer, I believe, marks 2 milestones: First Double-sided head on a collectible minifigure, and first Minifigure to have pieces in substitute of hands. I also am hoping to see lots of Godzilla vs King Kong (S3 Gorilla suit) MOCs. Overall, I think it's a very good series, with some figures I've been wanting since Series 1.
  2. I actually like this wave better than the first, mainly because most of them would fit in with my medieval Kingdom. The Earth and Lightning dragons for obvious reasons, the Mountain Shrine (with some tweaking) could be turned into a troll camp/outpost, etc. . As for the next wave, I think they may add in a new ninja, just to keep things fresh. Then they could give him a dragon too. They could also expand Nya's character, turn her into a proper lady ninja (feminine-ja? ) and give her a dragon. I also wonder if there will be new villains, to replace skeletons. Samurai-based ones could be cool, but the lizard-people that people have theorized would be great!
  3. I was wondering, is it possible to order Pick A Brick from the online Lego Store by phone? Has anyone done this before? If so, did you just list the pieces you wanted, or what? Sorry if there's already a topic for this.
  4. Wow, that looks great! I hope Lego uses the license to make some cool wallpapers like this.
  5. Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I though he was one of my better ones, very simple, too. The head/hair combo went surprisingly well together. Anyway, I'll try to have a new batch up tomorrow. UPDATE: I'm having some problems with my computer, I was aiming to get a new batch up today, but I couldn't manage to. I have a family thing going on tomorrow, so I might not be able to post the new batch 'till Friday.
  6. This is my first post in the Star Wars forum, so I haven't got to say how much of a Star Wars fan I am yet. I've been waiting for a new TIE since Darth Vader's TIE Advanced came out in 2009, I just hope we'll get an Interceptor and Bomber to follow. I know we'll be getting more Episode 1 sets too, what with the 3D release. It will be good if they do the same for AoTC for it's 3D release (maybe some new sandpeople Tusken raiders). Anyway, I seem to remember it being around August/September when the more accurate rumors for the January wave started appearing last year, so we shouldn't have long to wait.
  7. As you can probably tell from my avatar, I'm a big Transformers fan. My favorite series would have to be the old 80's G1 show (even though I wasn't around at the time, I have lots on DVD). As for the Bay movies, definitely not my favorite movies, but I don't hate them as much as some people do. Also, what do people here think of the Armada series (or the rest of the Unicron trilogy)? I usually don't really like the Japanese animation style, but I actually thought Armada was very good.
  8. Well, in the official announcement it said 'construction sets, minifigures and buildable figures', and apart from Batman (and maybe X-men) , there's not really many sets/vehicles they can make for the other heroes. Anyway, I'm sure a line of individual minifigures would be very popular, and they would never run out of ones to make.
  9. His body (and legs), come from the King from the 2007-2009 Castle theme. But only in the later sets (This and This, to be precise). Thanks for the comment.
  10. Thank you both for your comments. Yes, my original idea for this was a showcase for the minifigures I put in MOCs, but I don't currently have enough pieces as I need for the things I had in mind . But I have got some small MOC's/diorama's that I have been working on, and I'll try to post them as soon as I can (hopefully once my aforementioned Photo Studio arrives).
  11. Firstly, I would like to say that this is the first time I've ever shared any of my own Lego creations on the internet, so any tips on how to improve my layout are welcome. Also, these figures (current and future) will be Purist. So no Brickarms/forge and no painting or anything like that. Acknowledgements: This was partially inspired by This and This. I will try to update this at least weekly, and I have a new Photo Studio arriving soon, so the photos should look better in later weeks. Well, onto the first one! The Ex-Jester: Description/Back-story: He used to be the Royal Jester for the Crown Kingdom, but one day people stopped laughing, his act had gotten old. The King hired a new jester, and he was thrown out, onto the streets, homeless and penniless. His outfit is now torn and losing it's colour, but one day he'll get his revenge... The Armour Salesman: Description/Back-story: This man is the owner of the only Armour stall in the Market Village, an expert on armour, he knows what's right for what job. He is also in direct competition with the Blacksmith of the village, who also supplies armour. The Crown Assassin: (sorry for the blurry pictures for this one, I'll be making more of them soon anyway) Description/Back-story: Sometimes when an army is too unnecessary (or weak) to kill someone, the King sends in his private assassins. The citizens of the kingdom don't know about them, and that's probably for the best... The Crown Lord/Earl/Duke: Description/Back-story: One of the high-up titles in the Crown Kingdom, and a close friend of the King. He is the Lord/Earl/Duke (anyone know which is the most appropriate?) of the part of the kingdom furthest away from the Barren Wasteland (The Evil Wizard's territory), and doesn't like getting caught up in war matters . Generic Peasants : Description/Back-story: Not much to say about these guys, really, but no kingdom is complete without them. And that's all for this batch. Like I said before, I'll try to update this at least weekly, with batches about this size. I've got a big supply of figures I've already made to use up, including some which are a lot better than these ones, in my opinion. So keep checking back! Constructive criticism is completely welcome.
  12. Thanks a lot for your extremely helpful comments, def + Peppermint M. I did think that Year One was the best looking of the three, but I think it's the quality of the story, not the art, that makes a good graphic novel. I've taken note of all of your suggestions , and the website you linked to, def, looks like it should be very useful. Thanks again!
  13. Sorry to bump an old topic, but I couldn't find a more recent one of this subject. Like I've mentioned in some other topics, I've only recently got in to the whole Superhero/Comics thing. Batman is my favorite, so I recently got what I think are the 3 most famous/highly acclaimed Batman graphic novels: Year One, Dark Knight Returns, and The Killing Joke. Is there anyone here who has read any of them? If so, what do you think of them, and which others would you recommend?
  14. In short, I think this theme has a lot of potential. Even before I signed up, I read this forum nearly every day, but this news came up just around my birthday, the first days in a while I hadn't got to check the site. So I was extremely surprised and excited when I learned of this a few days later. I've only recently got into the whole Superhero thing (for some reason, I never liked them as a kid), and now this! It's also reassuring to hear that they may be sold as individual minifigures, so they shouldn't be too expensive (but it is licensed, so I may be wrong ). As for the possibility of a Video Game, if the theme is successful, I'd say it's a near certainty.
  15. You could start a topic in the Technic Forum, I noticed you said you were having similar trouble with your Medieval Water Mill. It's still a great MOC, though!
  16. Welcome to Eurobricks, GhostFan! That is definitely the most interesting (and painful) way I've ever heard anyone come out of their Dark Age! I was also reading the boards for a while before I finally decided to join a few days ago. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
  17. I saw The Green Hornet on DVD recently, and I actually really liked it. I really don't understand all the bad reviews it got, I thought the acting was especially realistic. I also saw Transformers: DOTM, a few weeks ago, overall a good movie, but it still suffered from some of the problems of the second one.
  18. I've just finished reading the 2nd (and final) book in the Dirk Gently series by Douglas Adams. I actually liked them more than his Hitch-Hiker series. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who likes the Hitch-Hiker's Guide. They are really great books, possibly my favorite ones ever, and have a perfect mix of humor and thought-provoking philosophy.
  19. Nice review This wouldn't look out of place in my Kingdom. If I did some minor tweaking, it could easily pass for a troll camp.
  20. That's a nice looking barn, chongcheng. I do think it looks better with the dark tan floor. Also, do you have the barn from the new Kingdoms set (Mill Village Raid)? I'd love to see them next to each other.
  21. Thanks to both of you!
  22. I see, and your very welcome. Also out of interest, can the top part turn 360-degrees (all the way around)?
  23. Thanks a lot! I hope to be sharing pictures soon.
  24. I can't enter the file name without using the backslash key ( / ) It even shows them in the first post: There's no weird symbols in the words of the file name, I can't think what else it could be. EDIT: I've just realized, there's an apostrophe, that's probably it. Sorry for wasting your time EDIT 2: Yep, I changed the file name and it works now, apologies once again
  25. Sorry to bump a very old topic. But I'm having a problem with my Brickshelf. I've just created an account, but whenever I try to upload a picture, it comes up with this: There was an error with your input. Permissible characters are [A-Z][a-z][0-9][-][_][@][.][ ]. Please go back and try agian Any advice? It probably something really obvious, but I've never had an account on any kind of photo site, so it's all new to me.
