LandShark's Castle Minifigures
LandShark replied to LandShark's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Thank, like I said, he one of my favorites too. Also, I may not be able to do a big update this week, I'm going to be very busy. But everyone feel free to comment and make suggestions/requests! -
Hmm... I'm 19253. Nothing for the whole number, but if I take away the first number I get: Nothing if I take away the last number, or for the three middle numbers. But still, I got a nice, simple set. I'm not going to ask for anything more.

WW Category 3: The Casual Settler
LandShark replied to KyleJohnson11's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I really like this! As a purist myself, I really admire the use of only official minifigure parts and weapons. The head/beard work really well with the hat and shirt combination. The vig' itself is very nice and simple too, and the cones as stilts under the building work well. Overall a very good entry! -
I'd love to see Lego release more baseplates. I've found the current ones very useful (for play and display ), but new ones would be perfect. There's so many colours and sizes they could do, and it would really inspire creativity to think what different one could be used for. But, I suppose there are reasons for not doing them, as Aanchir said. But if they did, I would welcome them in open arms.

REVIEW: 2254 Mountain Shrine
LandShark replied to Velika314's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm pretty sure that's just his Dragon Riding outfit (called 'Kai DX'), he's like that in the Fire Temple and one of the first wave sets, I believe. But yes, he does look great like that. -
Hmm... , I think what Rockertbilly said seems pretty likely: Also, what colour are the Snake staffs? (I feel bad about adding to all the questions your being asked, but I'm just curious )

This has a very classic feel to it, and the hinged wall makes it look like a real set from back in the early days of Lego... I hope your kids enjoy it!
-
That would look pretty good... Is anyone else wondering how the snake men will fit on the spinners?

That's a pretty accurate representation of a car from some of my favorite movies. I think that you picked a pretty good scale to make it in, minifigure scale would have made it harder to be accurate to the movies. One bit of constructive criticism though, some grey cheese slopes on the front winscreen frame would make it look less blocky.

I really hope they make a hat like that in a future Collectible Minifigures series. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing how your 'figs turn out.

Nice MOC! I has a very retro feel to it. Are you planning on making any more of Squid Squadron? I'd love to see other ships in this colour scheme.
-
That a really nice looking temple! The way you include the caves and gave it an interior really adds something to the MOC. And as 'Cecile' said, you did the snow really well, and the whole thing just looks great.

This actually sounds really good! The Police and Fire themes both needed a good variation, instead of the same sets every few years. There not a single one of these I don't like the sound of, I can't wait to see pictures.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
LandShark replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Wow, now the figure is one of my favorites. That body just looks great on it, but I wonder what the other body came from... Also, the alien's new trans-green 3L bar would be great for Yoda's lightsaber. -
Just finished it. Shorter than I expected, but I always like this kind of thing.

An Old Vagabond Ambushed By Ninjas MOC
LandShark replied to Captain BeerBeard's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That's a nice looking little MOC, 'BeerBeard. I like the use of the Toy Story Army men bases as bases for the trees, and the Pirates of the Caribbean sword holster. The details like the frog and snake are good too. Are you planing to to more MOCs in this style? -
I thought I was the only one! Me and my dad both share a love of watching those kinds of movie. In fact, I'm still waiting to watch Mega Python vs Gatoroid with him. Might I also recommend Dinocroc Vs Supergator, too may hilariously stupid/ironic moment to list. Also, is just one hilarious WTF-ery after the other.

LandShark's Castle Minifigures
LandShark replied to LandShark's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
A bit later than I said, but still, here I am with batch 2! Thanks everyone for the comments so far, let's get started! Dwarven Lumberjack: Description/Back-story: Hailing from the Dwarven lands, the King hired him to tend to the trees of his Kingdom. He has frequently been offered faster ways to cut down trees, but he always insists that his plain old axe works just fine. Drunk Knight: Description/Back-story: Rarely seen in battle, always seen by the tavern. The only reason the king hasn't fired him is because he is the tavern best customer, and the owner of the tavern thinks having a man in uniform as his regular would be good for their image. And the King is very fond of that tavern... Female Civilian: Description/Back-story: A civilian of the Kingdom, and I haven't decided on anything else about her. She may own a stall in the market village, she may be related to the Crown Lord/Earl, what do you think she should be? Troll Guardian: Description/Back-story: Probably the figure I'm most proud of. He could be a very elderly troll, who has been guarding something for many years. Or a mutated troll who, because of his unusual strength and long life expectancy , was assigned to guard a very important place. All we know is, your not getting past him... And that all for this batch, I'll hopefully update within a week this time. Any constructive criticism or suggestion are welcome. -
The UK S@H has all of the second wave Hero Factory sets on sale. They also have the new Ninjago, Star Wars, Harry Potter and Hero Factory sets available to order.

Damn, I loved that game! It still works on my computer, and whenever I play it, it always bring back fond memories... Something about it just seemed so... right. I do agree that we need a new Lego racing game, imagine if it had graphics like other modern Lego Games, and included lots of recent themes.
-
Glad to see someone shares my opinion! I didn't like Energon either, and by Cybertron I had just stopped watching.. RID was pretty good too, I don't remember much about it, but I have some moments and characters indented in my memory... I'm also curios about Transformers: Prime, but I can't find it anywhere in the UK (on TV or Internet, no DVDs either).

I don't know how they'll pull of Garmadon turning to the good side, but the Snake Men sound great. I wonder if they'll have normal legs, or something similar to the Collectible Minifigures S6 Genie. This could be good, wasn't there something like that in the Lego Battles Game? Damn , that was the main thing I disliked about the first wave. There's only 1 vehicle in the current wave, so I thought they were moving away from that. I'll wait and see though, I might be surprised (how will they do the Snake Men's vehicles?). A green Ninja would be cool, but I don't know about the 'evolving' thing. I would say, if that is the case, kids will treat him as a new ninja anyway. Overall, it sound like it could have potential, but I'll wait until there's pictures to judge...

Good to see you've got more plans. I actually thought the Heroica weapons worked very well with the figures, but I'll wait and see...

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
LandShark replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
This series is looking great so far. The ones that really stand out for me are the 'Lady Liberty' and the Minotaur. I wonder if there could be more statues (a Greek Marble statue 'fig would be great) and Mythological creatures in later series... so many possibilities . The Gray is slightly disappointing though, especially since I've been wishing for a proper one since the S3 alien. Can't wait to find out what the rest of the series is. -
I've been waiting for someone to do something like this! Good call using the actual Heroica weapons, they go well with the figures. Are you planning on making any of the goblins (you could use the Castle troll head)? Also, just a suggestion, could you post comparison pictures of the microfigs?
