  1. Wow, I love the bow and the fish decorations! It reminds me that I also want to tear it down for some mocs but could not yet because I feel afraid of never finding the pieces all together... Making a MOC only of the pieces available is a good idea though! I have seen already 2 others, a crazy windmill: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-24737/nobsta/old-mill-by-the-sea/#comments and a nice modular like store: https://www.1000steine.de/de/gemeinschaft/forum/?entry=1&id=436865 Even if these are off topic in this subforum...
  2. Lovely, for me this reminds me of kids imagination. I would say that for me as a child all the Lego-sets looked like this in my imagination even if they just had a 1x2 as a table and only 1 cup as accessorys... At that time we did not need so much pieces and the sets looked as good as this example!
  3. Its a nice fort indeed, 24000 bricks? Its not looking that big, even the ship is quite small... As @SteamSewnEmpire said the ship could be improved. At least I would correct the turbulent winds around the 2nd mast I think we should be aware that it had to fit in a glas box to show off in the Lego Store, that could be the reason for the "tiny but bulky" boat.
  4. Awesome pirate crews around here! @Captain Baker nice to see a female crew, have to catch some of the new cmf, too! My Black Pearl has no crew left over because they sail on my Dutchman Ideas Project, I created a small Skeleton Crew to set sail to Isla de las muertas! Take a closer look: Figbarf Black Pearl´s Skeleton Crew in Battle by Captain Störtebricker Figbarf Black Pearl´s Skeleton Crew by Captain Störtebricker My fav is the blue one!
  5. @AlexSam, looks nice, very good in compressing a large ship on this small size. Can you tell what kind of part is the top of the bow+stern hull in black? I know it only in brown/red for the big hull parts: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=2557&name=Boat Hull Large Bow 12 x 16 x 5 1/3, Top&category=[Boat]#T=C Probably I would change the colour of the gallery windows to fit those ones at the stern.
  6. Wow thats a nice monastery, I especially like the portals and the front fascade, are there more pics showing the central cloister? Even more it fits so well on a lonely island because monks tend to find silent places...
  7. Wow, really nice, havent seen @kurigan´s creations yet, really nice technique. Have to try this myself!
  8. Nice for sharing it here, I think I already supported but now I have read the information that it will have cloth sails which is even better, because I dont like the technic sails that much!
  9. Thank you @Mister Phes! I have now a picture of the crew: Flying Dutchman Crew by Captain Störtebricker, auf Flickr I am thinking of adding Pintel and Ragetti but I nearly only have figures with yellow hea... Please let me know some suggestions which would you like to see or who is missing in the POTC-LEGO-Universe and who should I include! I have also build an alternative for the lights in not damaged state: Different light design by Captain Störtebricker, auf Flickr What is better damaged or non damaged Version?
  10. Thats what I like about it, too: "clean lines", the houses are with "normal" brick up boulding techniques (except some pieces in the chimneys) because a lot of people go for very detailed walls with bricks in all directions... The cariibean clipper is not modiefied, right?
  11. @Elusys Ra Arwal, you have build like a mod of the now arrived "Pirates of Barracuda Bay" even before its release! :D Crazy! I first wanted to tell you that the prices will drop for the yellow arch now because it is used in the new barracuda or that you can start by buing the set for the pieces you need. Now when I finished reading I had to realize thats the original post is old and its already build in real! Even better!
  12. Hey @blackdeathgr, thanks! I have made a small new video showing how the functions work, you can take a look here: Is there a section somewhere in the forums where they have some tips on video and photography? Ships are quite big and so it is difficult to catch them in the right light...
  13. Hi everybody, I am a bit late here but here is my introduction: My name is Adrian and I am all into Pirates :D so you will meet me in the pirates sub forum but I have also some western and adventurers around. its an awesome website to stumble upon so many great builds, could take years to catch up! When i am not building with bricks I like to sail real waters, meet with friends, playing board- or pc-games. I can update this when I have some more interesting ideas to tell... Greetings from Hamburg, Germany! Adrian
  14. Thanks a lot, @Mister Phes! I have seen that in some other topics but could not figure it out untill now! ;) I am also working on some minor improvements/changes which I can share here soon!
  15. Ahoy, seamates! I have started my LEGO-Ideas Project 2-3 months ago and now I want to present it to the specific lego pirates community! Would be nice to get your suppport but even more I am looking for some advice what I can improve on it. SUPPORT NOW Please take a look on the ideas website or at my flickr https://flic.kr/s/aHsmMnLn6a for more fotos! Here is the text from ideas: Welcome on board of The Rolling Dutchman! Since I have been a child I always wanted to control my LEGO Red Beard Runner without pushing it around and now my dream has come true. I have build a motorized Version of the famous Flying Dutchman which is my favorite pirate ship, too. I have seen the original swedish Vasa which has given the idea for the Dutchman with its marvelous bow and stern. So I managed to combine them with my own creative ideas into this "rolling" Dutchman! Please have a look at the features in the video and the pictures! Video: Update 2: Thanks for your 1k supports so far! I have worked on the main picture a bit and now added a picture of the crew and one showing the functions as well. Update 1: New rotten Sails! (Picture 7+8+Video still with the first sails) Motorized Features: Rolling movement caused by waves (1. M-Motor) Two motorized triple-barrelled chasers in the bow (1. M-Motor) Motorized steering with simoultaneously rotating ship´s wheel, rudder and steering mechanism (S-Motor) Motorized movement for- and backward (L-Motor) Motorized sail trim with turning capstan and changing sail position of all square sails (M-Motor) All features can be controlled by rc-control via 4 channels and two receivers All features use the Power-Function System but could easily be adapted to the new Control+ System which can lead to advanced handling of the functions The battery box can slide out easily to switch on/off and change batteries General Features: Minifigures: Davy Jones, Jack Sparrow, Elizabeth, Bill Turner, Barbossa and more. (I am not familiar with the movies in english so I would like to ask you to tell me the names in the comments section!) Two decks with cannons (one side the lower deck is closed to store the motors) The two tripple-barreld chasers can manually slide backwards and then the gun ports can be closed Removable deck at the stern to take out the steering wheel Removable lower balcony´s on both sides Handmade sails Two functional anchors Upper cabin minifigure size with Jack stealing the heart (illuminated) Lower cabin with Davy Jones organ (illuminated) Two torches at the stern (illuminated) The capstan can be removed The ship is based on the sturdy hull parts, the complete 2 lower rows of bricks can be removed with the steering and driving wheels to use it as "normal" push forward ship or display model The main mast and the mizzen are both slightly tilted backwards Correct rigging and sails due to the movies The ropes between the masts can be removed easily to take them apart for transport It would be an honor to receive your support. Aye! I have to thank my friend J-H to help me with some motorization problems and a special thanks to my girlfriend for not freaking out! Thanks, yours Störtebricker from Hamburg, Germany SUPPORT NOW
