I wonder if this happened last year with the patronus... I must say I’m staggered! -

It's actually really interesting learning about this coming from someone who's relatively new to this. I didn't even know Lego leaks existed until recently. This. -

Well, this angle gives a much clearer picture than the otter ones -

The fact that they look similar because they are from the same source material... But let's say you're right about Buckbeak and it's a hint. But the fact there's the owl with wings spread out and Hermione's debunks that more than proves your point - there's no way they'd hint about something like that almost 2 years in advance. Let's just move back to current Lego Harry Potter leaks, there's nothing more to say here anyway... -

If anyone's interested: 0:41 Buckbeak, owl 1:25 Hermione's patronus 1:33 Buckbeak again But I still fail to believe these mean anything. As Guyon2002 said. It's no different to the Lego Ideas T-Rex Rampage controversy - Harry Potter is a licenced theme and there are bound to be some similarities, especially as these things are obvious things to include in the Harry Potter universe (especially Buckbeak). Just because there's Hogsmeade at 1:08 doesn't mean we're getting Hogsmeade - it's just because Hogsmeade is important in Harry Potter, and they thought they'd add the Winter Toy Shop Christmas Tree. But if we do get a Hogsmeade set, that doesn't mean it was hinted at in a 2018 sticker book - it just means that they drew on the same source material. Furthermore, you can see all these are artwork, rather than renders of existing Lego sets (like there are scattered throughout the book). Because the people who made these books are... artists... and they drew what they thought a Lego buckbeak probably looks like in lego form. And unsurprisingly, it looks fairly similar to the actual Lego because they both had the same old Buckbeak to draw off of and it's pretty easy to predict what a Lego Buckbeak looks like. -

And so are the Lego Harry Potter games, but no-one is suggesting that every minifig and every scene in those is going to be a future Lego set... -

Yeah I know, I’ve edited my post to make this clear now. I’ve said what you just said to people who are believing this “rumour”, that there’s no evidence to suggest this exists and it hasn’t been verified by others. I was just saying it’d be cool :) -

Yeah, it would be a really cool medium-sized set. The Lego game has a really nice interpretation of it as well. It would be cool to have the fireplaces and then the fountain, and then could you imagine an awesome brick-built fiery snake from the duel! Edit: But it appearing in this book doesn't mean anything. -

My point is, I don't think it appearing in a book of ideas meant anything. -

Well I guess the otter patronus leak is the new Hedwig leak, and all we'll be getting for the next week is a new angle of the otter each day -

It would definitely cost by today's standards but don't think it would have cost double. I'd imagine $200 at the most - $25 extra for inflation and $25 for ~300 pieces' worth of extra detail. That's without significantly changing the build (so obviosuly not making Gringotts gigantic). But yeah, it's gonna be exciting! -

I don’t think anyone expected not to get Privet Drive or Diagon Alley though... I feel like you’re connecting dots that don’t exist. As much as I’d love the Chamber of Secrets and the Forbidden Corridor, there’s not been any indication of these yet so I don’t see it happening yet. I’d be happily proven wrong. -

Fluffy isn’t in the Chamber of Secrets. I’m not sure how the Build your own adventure book is relevant, it’s just random ideas on how you could expand the line. -

I used to use LDD until I discovered Studio. Now I'm not sure of what benefit LDD provides compared to it apart from if you prefer the UI. From what I remember, Studio seems to have more parts, be less finnicky when placing stuff, more customisation options with e.g. instructions, and the ability to upload your parts list to Bricklink. What benefit does LDD have? I wouldn't be surprised to see Ginny out of the D2C, simply because she's a main character and a lot of people would be annoyed if she was locked behind such a high price. It's the Lego Harry Potter Build Your Own Adventure book. Can be bought most places e.g. Amazon. It also contains an exclusive sorting hat/fireplace build with Harry. It has lots of MOC ideas that are fairly simple since it's mostly aimed at kids, but good starting points. There's also some actually pretty cool builds in there. They do this for lots of themes. Edit: Jedi's review and flickthrough - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-Ndo3SqLRE Just2Good's review - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpudD5T9zks I agree. They'll probably stick to film-only stuff, which I'm happy with - we can interpret our own of the others. QQS has a moderate chance. I'd be happy with unprinted titles for F&B - I'd rather it look full than each and every item have lots of detail but there not be many of them. Good point with the Leaky Cauldron. I've been an advocate for including it, but on second thoughts, just the brick wall would do. No shops are confirmed. I would like B&B but I know others aren't keen and would rather it be as a separate set, as they're more likely to have that as its own set rather than a DA building. Which makes sense actually. Yes, WWW must be super detailed if it's included! They can go so far with that shop. That's a good point with Olivanders. I'm kinda hoping they have a similar aesthetic to how I described F&B too. Lol there'e been endless discussion about Gringotts underground and the Ironbelly. That's another thing that could well be its own set, we'll have to see. -

Yeah that's what I do. I'm not super familiar with all the parts available though, so often struggle to get anywhere with projects or end up overcomplicating stuff! I guess practice makes perfect. -

Wow I love it, really cool! The colour scheme is great as well. Once DA comes out I've considered making some MOCs too if I have the time but I'll have to get some pieces lol -

Ah yes. I guess I was being kinda silly thinking she only had one outfit. Reduces the buyer's remorse slightly lol, although the Bricktober figs are still super cool and I'm happy I've got them. Lego is really going all out on giving us a variety of minifigs this time. Roughly 37% of all the Harry Potter minifigs released are from the last 2 years! I hope they don't use those skirt cloth pieces for figures like Umbridge. I know you don't have to have them, but to me they're just kinda weird. -

Lol. I kinda wonder this about Umbridge and Slughorn from the Bricktober set, as well as Ollivander from the GWP as I was saying above. I guess Slughorn has many different outfits, but Umbridge and Ollivander I'm not so sure what they'd do. -

Good idea with the D2C castle figures. I may do the same one day. That specific figure will almost definitely be exclusive. They may make a Chamber of Secrets set sometime (who knows) so the character may not be. It looks like a pretty coo, book so I'll probably end up picking it up. On a related note, Diagon Alley will need to have Ollivander. I was wondering, how will they make him different to the one in the microscale DA GWP? Oh did they reuse an "exclusive" minifigure? I take it back then. -

I am the same lol. I am the worst when it comes to FOMO! I'm happy to wait for a sale though. It's not just Lego with me - I've ended up collecting joy con colours and now have more controllers for my Switch than I can even connect to the thing On second thoughts, I wasn't really thinking straight. If there was a GWP to celebrate the release of it, it's not going to be specific to that set, it'll be with a purchase of £80 or something. So I'd probably just get something else Lego Shop-exclusive if that was the case and wait on DA. It's not like it'll be going anywhere, and I'll have other non-exclusive Harry potter sets (that will go on sale) to keep me occupied until a good deal/double VIP points comes! -

I would love to get some Jurassic Park sets but the Jurassic World ones don't bother me for some reason. I've considered getting the Raptor Escape set but then don't know if it's worth it as the scenes really are very small. I'd love to get the T-Rex Rampage set but I've already got lots of big brick-built Creator dinosaurs from when they used to do that, and one of my favourite parts of setting up Lego is setting up all what the minifigs are doing, and that's not exactly easy with that (especially as the scenes are behind the gate) - I feel I'd rather have a more minifig-orientated and slightly cheaper set like the Ideas Treehouse/Pirates of Barracuda Bay. I'm a massive Mario fan too, so I'm actually glad the direction they're going doesn't interest me, as I'm already spending enough on Harry Potter! Harry Potter-wise (back on topic lol), I considered skipping the Hungarian Horntail (I really don't like the dragon build, especially the legs) and the Beauxbaton's Carriage. But the minifigs in both are awesome and I think ultimately I'd regret it one day, so I'll probably get them when they're at least 30% off. I probably won't bother with the polybag or the Build your Own Adventure, or Newt's Case (as cool as it is I don't feel it'd fit). Oh and the microscale Hogwarts has the same thought process as the T-Rex Rampage. I wasn't gonna get the advent calendar but have been convinced otherwise by this thread lol. I've still got to get the Whomping Willow, Knight Bus, Hagrid's Hut and the Clock Tower - but I've got 4 unbuilt HP sets sitting at home so I'm gonna build those first, unless those sets go for >30% off! This wave's going to be expensive... But at least it won't be like it is now, where I am trying to collect both the 2018 and 2019 waves at once. In fact I just checked Brickset - the most expensive sets I have are RRP £90 (Winter Village Cottage (which is also the largest in pieces) and Hogwarts Great Hall), so Diagon Alley's gonna be a shock to the system... but it will also be absolutely awesome. I totally cannot wait - if there's a GWP I may consider getting it day 1, as it'll be a long while before it's sold by other retailers and then even longer before they have a discount. So excited for this year - like you I hope they release pictures soon!
