Agents Review 8636 Deep Sea Quest ~ Photo Review
Batbrick replied to ReZourceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for that info, I will definitely try anyway when I get the set, see if I can't loosen up a few dark blue bricks at the same time! Ah, thanks for that info, I see that they are more different than I thought now. I hope the slime looks good when I get him! Batbrick Away! -
Agents Review - 8637 Volcano Base - Mission 8

Oh, that's too bad, I was hoping he would look better the other way. Well, I'm going to probably make him a custom gun then! How many did you order? I know i can only afford one, but just wondering if you are working on a mega volcano? Batbrick Away! -
I thought it was a very good show with good character development. By no means perfect of course, I found some episodes dragged tremendously while other plotline were rushed in and then gone just as quick. Katara after spending a long time doing very little with her power suddenly was a master of it too quickly as well. That said, while it has certain faults, it is one of the few standout shows as of recent, and it is great to watch and enjoy. Batbrick Away!

Agents Review - 8637 Volcano Base - Mission 8

Thanks for the excellent review svelte-corps of this fantastic set. I'm really glad I ordered it and can't wait for it to get here. The whole thing is wonderful, like the brown burps and chocolate brown slopes. Little touches like the monorail and fire pit really sell it for me. I love the figs too, especially Claw Dette, it's good to get a female villain with a new torso. One thing about Fire Arm though, it seems you have put the gun on him wrong, the scope part of the blaster is meant to be on his arm, thus it shouldn't look as ridiculously huge I certainly can't wait to mod the interior as well, I'll be sure to add all sorts of villainous 007 style things! Thanks again for the review, this set looks to be one of the best of the year to me. Batbrick Away! -
I'll go ahead with Scarecrow, such an awesome fig all round I reckon. Batbrick Away!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh my goodness, that was the funniest thing I've read today, oh dear. Yes, I agree with Sandy, look it up and be afraid A question regarding my sig. Is it okay to have this advert for KDog's comic up? I asked his permission so he could get more readers, just wondering if it is okay. Batbrick Away!

I forgot to comment on this review! Great job ReZourceman, like svelte-corps said your pics really show off the set and what there is to it. I just ordered this and the volcano base off S@h and I can't wait for them to come, so I'll comment on these reviews I forgot about I love the Inferno boat, as you say in your review it looks very heavy duty and ready to take on the Agents. The sub I quite like from the look of it, though there is the problem of too little space I will try and correct that. The dark blue is especially good. And I love Slime Face, his torso is very cool. Wow, thanks for that little mention Is it impossible or just very hard to mod? The octopus sounds great, thanks for that, is he meant to be on any side? I'm guessing he's a mutant Inferno creature. About Slime Face, is his head much different to the Joker bombs? I know he has slime marks on his head, are they very apparent? Thanks again for the review! Batbrick Away! -
Great job getting the Tygurah set KDog, I got it a couple of months ago and did a review, it really is fun. It does fit perfectly here too. As always Scouse is hilarious, I especially love the last line. The crystal skull cameo is a very nice touch too. And one other thing, the lighting is absolutely spectacular here, probably your best yey I'd say, it really gives the jungle its own atmosphere Batbrick Away!

Thanks guys, I agree it was awesome of course, I'm seeing it again on Wednesday with another friend. Batbrick Away!

Oh fair enough, his character was fairly compelling as Bruce's biggest mistake though in Knightfall. Oh I already know that! I think Catwoman: When In Rome followed by The Man Who laughs will be up next. I'm really excited to be building up the years in it, do you often re read oyur comics? I do, I read Year One the other day and am now halfway through TLH. Yes I loved that part, there was also one I believe that refers to another episode too, I'll have to check to see which one. You enjoying them so far? Sometimes its honestly better once you've seen them all to just go back and watch the good ones, I know that rotters often leave sour memories. The third season is my favourite though, an almost seamless run of eps with the intro of Ras Al Ghul as well. My friend just saw it and sent a text saying: "The Dark Knight is one of the best movies ever." Thing is, I can't disagree with him, I'm seeing it a second time on Wednesday with my good friend who I'm reeling into the batmythos! No! He's really dead? Eh, he'll be back no doubt, he is a great character though. I was never into the "crises" of any time to be honest, but it is always good to hear updates too though thanks. And how's your Bat Goody Bag 4 coming? My fifth one is already prepped to go! But now i'm building the Iceberg Lounge on a 48x48 baseplate, I really enjoy making the biggies. EDIT: Read this, entitled "What if Micheal Bay directed The Dark Knight (no spoilers) http://my.spill.com/profiles/blog/show?id=...BlogPost:355506 Batbrick Away!

I love how particular that sounds. Like on the Monkey Island Games with skull rock: "Arrr, there be skull rock!" (Guy looks at the rock which looks more like a rabbit) "It looks more like a rabbit" "Arr but she looks like a skull if you turn your head!" (Guy turns his head and sees the rabbit ears becoms a duck beak) "Now it looks like a duck" "Arr well it looks like a skull if you turn your head and squint a little!" Good luck then. They are the first two for me now, I just ordered them after saving up some money (stupid Tumbler and not being out yet!) Really looking forward to getting them both, I think these sets will be up on display for a looooong time! Ah, thanks, sounds still good though. I might make a Batpod with a similar design. , sounds quite big, but like you I'll forgive it for the bonnet missiles. Funny thing, with the two sets alone I ordered I get Break Jaw, Slime Face, Fire Arm, Claw Dette and Dr inferno! Hmm, seems I get Bat everything before you! I hope to get two of the Jetpack set due to the sheer awesomeness of the figs, especially the Saw Fist bits. Batbrick Away!

I feel so bad now! No seriously, this is fantastic, absolutely wonderful, I love that we get such a pathetic and yet hilarious villain. Mad Hatter looks perfect in Lego too, I really, really hope we get him in real life next year. Love their abilities too. How many more characters are to go then? I'm still hoping for Ra's. Yes, keep note of the golf game conversation in "field test" which gets later importance. Luckily they are still standalone which means I can slap on the DVD and watch an ep for the small time of 13 minutes. Yes it is! But all Batgeeks think alike, and this show is another one of those "geek" things, fans call themselves Browncoats and if you watch it you'll see why! He was important to Knightfall though which is a great arc. Yuo haven't read it yet though ( ) Say, I'm trying to find out the continuity of the Batverse, you wouldn't happen to know any sights where I could find out which Novel comes after which would you? I'm trying to get the early years, so next up for me so far are Haunted Knight, Catwoman: When In Rome, Matt Wagner duology and The Man Who Laughs. I thought that was an issue of Swamp Thing? excellent quote though. Yes, Adam West was perfect for that role, and the villain is hilarious (that was Bruce Timm btw). Now I'm no huge Transformers fan, but even I loved that Cullen returned Damn! I want them! Good job though, that one has some of the best eps: Perchance to Dream, The Man Who Killed Batman, Almost Got 'im, The Laughing Fish and others I forget. On a related note, I saw The Dark Knight on the 16th! Booyah! You will NOT be disappointed, the only gripe i have (and the movie is so good that while usually this gripe would destroy the movie for me it now is just making it short of perfect) is the late dismissal of a character. You'll know who it is when you see it. The Joker is hilarious though, you can see my spoiler free (and totally unbiased ) review on the movie thread. Batbrick Away!

THE DARK KNIGHT! Oh. My. Goodness. This is definitely the best summer flick of the year BAR NONE! I saw it last night on opening day, and gosh I can't stop thinking about it. Heath Ledger was simply perfect as the Joker, a menacing villain completely opposite to Batman who is both charismatic, hilarious, crazy and yet totally scary. His plan is amazingly evil, topping Ra's one in BB as he is not simply destroying a city, but turning it rotten. No seriuosly, this is easily one of the best movie villains ever, a billion times better than Jack Nicholson playing Jack Nicholson in the 89 movie. Aaron Eckhart is brilliant as District Attorney Harvey Dent, who is both very likeable and admirable, yet still succeeds in having a three dimensional character. His turn near the end is one of the saddest things. Christian Bale has improved upon his Batman since BB, he still manages to be the main character in the film, a torn man who must come to realise his presence will inspire good, but also evil. Gary Oldman reprises his role as Gordon, one that is far more challenged this time around with shocking events surrounding him. Maggie Gyllaenhaal is far better than Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes, this time around her character is given far more depth and sadness. Morgan Freeman also comes back as techno wiz Lucius Fox and Cillian Murphy reprises the Scarecrow in a brief scene that may just be one of my favourite cameos ever. As for the story, I plan on this review being spoiler free, but let me just say this movie is DARK. No seriously, if you thought BB was dark you were wrong, TDK makes that movie look like Alvin and the Chipmunks. Do NOT take young kids to see this film, there are moments with so much tension and suspense that even I found it hard to look at the screen. This is no Spiderman, this is almost no Superhero film, as Nolan the director has stated this is an epic crime drama like the comics, with metaphors, foreshadowing and themes present throughout. Not just the Joker is dark either, but Harvey Dent's story (the TRUE backbone of the film) ends in a very nasty place. The action has stepped up too, with brilliant camera work that is much easier to see now. The Batpod chase sequence is superb, with so many wonderful toys and tricks up both Batman's and the Joker's sleeves. But the real best part in terms of epicness and sheer heroism is the final confrontation with the Joker as thousands of lives hang in the balance, with a very cruel and ironic play from the Joker to fool the police. Overall this movie may well be my favourite of the year, a fantastic look into why we need heroes and if we need them at all, and a dark and amazing journey and change in the lives of all characters involved. I give it 5/5, not only the best superhero movie ever, but a mesmerising one against all mediums. Batbrick Away!

Good move, I couldn't stand that sig. That said, I always thought the 18+ limit a little bit lean. Not a criticism, just my opinion, but I understand the thought behind it. That said again, no doubt I will mention one day not getting a good job, and mention someone else wanting a share on the computer or a restriction put on my Lego. BUT, I'll do it maturely, in the "what did I do today thread" or as an explanation as to why I must leave a conversation and to just let others know more about me, that's the difference I find. Another great comic, the lighting was much better in this on and I loved the Lost parody. The hambibble quote was also amusing. And please don't take my previous comment offensively KDog, I didn't mean to sound rude, I just thought the background was not bright enough for paradise Batbrick Away!

First, sorry to ask, but which number is which? Second, are they TRU though? We don't have one down here. Batbrick Away!

Okay, not really, but it is the weakest, so just make sure when you watch it to not let it leave a sour taste in your mouth. If so, watch again without that first story and it is great. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Killer Croc has very short screentime, one fight, and it is very chaotic, so his design works in a monstrous way. His exit is pretty cool too, and his monstosity is cleverly explained as being a test subject for many of Crane's experiments. Scarecrow is also fantastic, much better. Seriously, the design works so well in this segment, and his dialog is great. Like Croc he doesn't appear a lot, but he gets more screentime still than the former. Again I'll repeat, his design rocks in this segment, I was blown away by how well it meshed. Deadshot is the epitome of perfection. Seriously, I like this guy's style better than his comics cousin. His fascination with guns and expert in them is really well established, and his story is the best. It was written by Alan Burnett, so it had to be. There is also Sal Maroni who is pretty cool in two stories, and a mobster called the Russian who comes from a large continent that is very cold. Did you check it out? because at the risk of sounding like a broken record, you'd love it. The only major two that were major were Black Canary ( ) and Steph Brown, and even she isn't THAT famous. You missed a really important one out though: Jean Paul Valley. Very nice, reminds me of that Legion of Doom comic where Trickster reveals that when villains want to scare each other, "They tell Joker stories" Oh yes, understandable. Which is why Gotham Knight I like a lot, they only have 12 odd minutes! Yes, but is it really that bad? Yes, he likes to cameo occasionally. On Mask of the Phantasm you can see a newspaper saying "Radomski to press: I'm innocent", Eric Radomski was a producer of the DCAU. Didn't know you loved Croc that much, I'll take Harley then Because I don't know. The animation on him in part 2 is great though. Batbrick Away!

I thought you'd like that one. Well done, Gold Tooth looks to be an awesome henchman. Also you got a standard henchman which is cool, I plan to make a couple of doubles (second and third Breakjaw, second Gold Tooth) torso's for generic henchmen as you only get two in the whole lineup. Is the little boat cool or just plain small? I'm asking my parents if I can order the Volcano Base and Deep Sea Quest today, as those two won't make it to stores here. I have nearly enough money, work helps. Do you plan on those two? I have to ask, is the motorcycle in Swamp Raid good? What about the ATV in Gold Hunt, is that good too? Of course I plan on all the Agents sets, they have overtaken the castle sets as my priority this year What do you plan on next? Batbrick Away!
