  1. M-18 Fershwitz Boran was strong, as all Orcs were. Though not skilled fighters there was not a man alive who could beat an Orc in pure strength terms. It was this strength that allowed Fershwitz to remove the ropes that bound him while the Crown soldiers scattered to and fro. He was scared for his life, and was waiting for an opportune moment, and so held the rope around him still tightly, giving the appearance that he was still tied up. He was just ready to make his move when he spotted out the corner of his eye a skeleton movement...
  2. This is probably the truth, it's also a great way to instantly see that one is a great builder, a sort of term of respect. It's why I love the tag, I can look up their brickshelf or flickr and see their awesome creations. What I don't understand is this new Fabuland tag. I don't know, no disrespect to anyone, I just don't see the necessity in it. If there is a fabuland tag, people will be wondering where the heck the castle builders tag is, or the bionicle builders tag, or Adventurers builders tag. I'm not saying this because I'm jealous or don't own fabuland btw, just curious as to why especially that theme? Batbrick Away!
  3. No! That oft-faced problem of dragonator and mine heads! How could you! Batbrick Away!
  4. Oh, damn. Since they're rarely on tv here that kind of makes me, I don't know..murderous. I'll just have to watch them on the net for awhile then. Ah, that's good memory for ya'. That squawk was great, amusingly enough it was actually a rather faithful take on the character. Poetry is hard, I don't try it often. Not to boast, but I'm pretty happy with my writing skills, my war story essay was given top marks and the teacher and others are now using it as an example of high achievement for other classes (win! ). So that made me happy, I hope my "The Creature" war story goes just as good. Good idea actually, unfortunately doesn't work for my English classmates. "Can you read this please and make suggestions?" "You've lost me at the second paragraph Thomas"! It's meant to be four days actually due to the ANZAC holiday, but Tuesday is my birthday so no way am I going to do work (Or have work) on that day. Yeah, it's good fun. Plus, I love building and taking pictures of all the stuff I do, people go "Did you REALLY make that!?" which is fun. As you say, they won't actually just start playing with it, but they give you a bit of respect for having your own thing. The problem is when you get to black kryptonite, since their have been multiple times when that's done different things Which reminds me (Don't know how), how is that Bat Goody Bag part 3 coming along? Batbrick Away!
  5. Indeed, they're not exactly aiming for subtlety with that pose are they? Damn, I tried looking for another Babs picture for you but I can't find any! What is it with people these days! Batbrick Away!
  6. Still, that's a long way off, still have to get the entire Castle, Batman and Agents line this year. I really wish I could only get a couple of the Agents sets, but I love them all, why couldn't have TLC just kept it a bad theme! Good going, I got a lot of free Lego from my sister's friend, lots of pirate stuff and space. That was a while ago, my auntie has a massive box of classic stuff that I really want, just got to think of a way to obtain it. She doesn't even use it, maybe she'll have to see my collection first Batbrick Away!
  7. It wasn't exactly the mark of subtlety was it? Yesterday was my brother's birthday, I gave him a 15 dollar voucher and a pack of 10 lemonade cans. We didn't really do anything, but he had a great time. Now my birthday's coming up! Batbrick Away!
  8. I love it. Sure it doesn't look entirely "castley" but it does look very much like something a troll would wear, and it is very useful for space or post-apoc mocs too. Batbrick Away!
  9. Oh yeah, get them, every season of the DCAU is fantastic. The Justice league series has a lot of fantastic eps. Too bad I have to order most of 'em... How did you get free Lego? I like your moc too btw. Sorting is something i'm having trouble with, I compensate by building giant mocs to get rid of some bricks in the meantime. Batbrick Away!
  10. That's why the movie is so funny (excluding the shark and hard-to-get-rid-of bomb), the whole villain teamup. I really must buy that series one day, I love Frank Gorshin's Riddler and The Penguin (forgot the actor's name, was it Burgess Meredith perhaps?) It's funny to watch a later season ep when the budget started to drip, the sets get cheaper and cheaper... I love writing, though I prefer a non-comic-like approach. I tend to try non-linear storytelling, plot twists, themes and abnormal writing styles. I also am really good at essays. I'm a bit like you in that I'm rather good at maths in addition ( I can do puns too). I can do poetry as well, though I have to focus, as poetry borders a thin line between normal narrative and a song. Your project sounds interesting, it's good to have friends who will do that for you, back when i made stop-motion animations with Lego my friends provided the voices which was great. , I nearly made a comment on that! Interesting, right now it is 1:30 in the morning! That's okay for me though, as I get a looong weekend off (five days). Just trying to figure out if you are trying to tell your friends all the stuff you waste this year or all the stuff you want this year , I'll pick the latter. I do that with my brother a lot, who listens to me. He is a nut, does trampolining, breakdancing and flippy things that would break my back! Mine is also easily the most expensive hobby, but it's worth it, isn't it? Plus people think you are weird when collecting Lego, but when a collection grows big enough, they think it's awesome. Thanks, my friend gets me in a headlock if I talk to him about DC too much. I made a comment about his speedy retrieval to class after missing half the lesson, drawing an analogy with the "speed force", and promptly was told to shut up... I'll second that, thanks whung, much appreciated there. Batbrick Away!
  11. Sonic Shriek Away! , comics can be a very strange thing can't they? Oh well, not much of a fan of the art style here, now the characters, that's another story... Batbrick Away!
  12. Great stuff here Brainbox, I love how you've updated the Uplink. Mow i know you love DC, but even I find the "All Star" tag a bit of a stretch (Speaking of which, I started reading the All Star Batman last month and couldn't stop laughing). Back on topic, you've done a great job of rebuilding it, you're a better builder than you give yourself credit for. The shoulder pads are very clever and so is the flamethrower ( ), you've odne a good job of updating it, looks like it would go great alongside the River Dragon. Can't wait to see more, thanks for sharing! Batbrick Away!
  13. That's great, the 60's Batman was a great show, I hate it when people look down upon it for its campiness, that campiness is what makes it so great! I went a similar way with BTAS, going on to comics and such. I had a dark age with comics not long ago, which would explain a few things I've had to read up on, I normally have a great memory and such, seems being a Batfan and being a work geek goes hand in hand That's good, no one likes to many exams. Where I go we don't get many, more "evaluation" pieces like my english war essay (top marks, woo! ) and short war story i wrote, they were both evaluation pieces. BTW, a bit off topic, but what time is it over there? I've started that too, I've saved the Batcopter, Battank, Arkham, UCE Batmobile so far. Excluding the Batman boxes, I only keep the front cover which I cut off boxes, and cut out the minifig sheet found on the boxes side if i ever need them. I love that too, leg printing is fantastic. The Dark Wizard and Good Wizard are great examples of this. The Batfigs are not toys to me, they are art! And we're loving it! I really must get that advent calender, 2008 is just overfeeding us with goodness so far, all those new elements are just so exciting that I am ashamed to admit I get a bit giddy thinking about them all Oh, and thanks for chatting with me btw, it feels really good to be able to talk about my favourite character to someone who is actually willing to listen, thanks. Batbrick Away!
  14. EDIT: Nevermind. Thanks TheRiddler, I can't wait for these either, they're great aren't they? Batbrick Away!
  15. Yes. The style changed from (I like this better) the handrawn, 40's dark deco style to a more sleek one. I love both versions but ultimately BTAS sticks out like a sor thumb, but in a good way. So I consider Volum4 (which should actually be call Gotham Knights anyway) onto Batman Beyond and Justice League a new continuity. Plus Gotham has nit proper night in vol 4, just red sky, which is a bit silly... And yes, though the Superman series was the one with most crossovers, there's an absolutely fantastic Darkseid arc form STAS to Justice League too. If oyu ever want to see a few eps on youtube or something, I can give a link Yes. I love the idea of Gotham Knight but i'd love to see a new, feature length story featuring Batman in an epic story, one made up, I would rather a classic new story over an adaptation, but either is wonderful. After all, Batman is the best superhero EVER in any comic 'verse at adapting to different mediums. Batbrick Away!
  16. Fine then, but back away form Black Canary, she's mine then: (You're the guy who's about to get one bruised face ) Oh dear, sometimes I worry about you Brainbox... Batbrick Away!
  17. Thanks, and that's understandable. I grew up watching BTAS, it's like the comics but in animaiton to me. When I got back into batman this is what brought me back, after seeing some BTAS eps on youtube, so I owe the show a lot for how I came to be the comic geek I am today That's perfectly understandable, although you seem to have an awful lot of exams. Of course, as stated many times, this year is my "catchup" year, I know i definietly won't spend this much next year on Lego (fingers crossed anyway). It'll probably end up in the bin for me, I need that hairpiece for cool mocs. As you say, either way is good, I have two Robins so I already have two of the older hairpiece. Batman boxart is great, too bad I only kept half of them. The comics are great too, I love the Bane one, heres hoping he gets another set. , never get sick of her. I can't believe how well they've done her, she looks evil but not overly so, and has a streak of mischievousnesses to her, and a tiny touch of innocence as well. Great to see that the designers are really paying tribute to the mythos instead of just releasing figs of how they think they should be done. Heck, I'd take that great detailing of the comics with only a couple of new figs each wave over a lot of new figs anyday! Yes, but Mutt's is brown, while this is black. The Agents sets also look to be contributing some great hairpieces too. Batbrick Away!
  18. :Insert Drool Emote Here: Oh my....I'm starting to understand this Babs obsession of yours now This is definitely the money shot here, Babs SO doesn't look suggestive or anything Oh n, I think I might be joining you.... o Batbrick Away! (reluctantly, just look at those superhotties!)
  19. SAubzero isn't bad, but for a great batman story MOTP all the way. The Batman I've gotten a little used to, but I can't forgive them for resetting Penguin (who had only just finally got rid of the mutant stereotype), Mr.Freeze and Joker to some of the worst portrayals ever. Still, there are some good stories to be found. I'm planning, once i have all 4 volujes of BTAS, to do a series of vignettes, one or two of my favourite scenes from each ep, which would be fun. Its worth it, trust me. Even if you rake in poor cash like I am it builds up real quick. I expected to have to get the final Indy set - Temple Escape - for my birthday but I got it at the end of march thanks to work, and now I have the mach 5! Good job mate, looks like you were right after all. I love these touches by TLC, they really lift the sets appeal and stays true to Joker's personality. I like that new hair, cool to have it in black. Of course I'd still prefer the other one, but this is a great substitute. Thanks for the link too, I really look forward to expanding Penguin's water fleet Batbrick Away!
  20. Yeah, good point actually. Either way, I think you'll like them, unlike the new The Batman show the creators are huge comic geeks (and writers: Paul Dini), so you see lots of great references like all the Batcave stuff, adapted stories, more 40's detective stories and such. Have you seen much of it? , yes, despite the odd title I really look forward to Quantum of Solace, and Wall E is a must (see it!) Not that interested in Harry Potter, I found the movies harder to care for than the books, which is no easy feat for me seeing as it was riddled with so many annoying devices. No offense btw, I just don't like them, that's fine if you do. Yes, something TLC needs to work on, more suits.... But since my birthday is on the 29th I'll have a lot more cash to spend, I think I'll be able to scoop up the entire castle line when it arrives. Despite not enjoying it, part-time work really pays off. Batbrick Away!
  21. Oh no, you HAVE to get it for the Two-Face two parter along, it still is a fantastic show, I was just saying that later seasons were far better. Volume 4 is when the style changed, i consider volume 4 and onward a different continuity as it is a lot different. Still great though, Paul Dini's Mad Love is a great ep. It is good, it is a two=parter called "the Demon's Quest" with the first part essentially an almost word-for-word adaptation of "Daughter of the Demon", great ep again, I love Ra's voice. There are a number of great comic adaptations in the series, Appointment in Crime Alley (there is no hope in crime alley as a comic) and The Laughing fish are two of them. That said, i hope we can get a "normal" batfilm as well one day, as in, one long epic story. How (pardon the language here) freaking cool would that be? Batbrick Away!
  22. , smae here! I'll have to get onto that bag idea fast now... I really want this set too, but it'll probably be the last castle set for me as it most likely will have to be ordered. Batbrick Away!
  23. Oh don't get me wrong, that set really amps up the drool factor for me, I REALLY hope to get it this year. I was talking more along the lines of unnecessary technic, like in last years catapult defence. That's my problem too, but hopefully... Batbrick Away!
  24. Me too, thanks for that info iamded, happy to see that it balances. I'm jealous btw. Plus getting rid of that handle means dome nice spare pieces hopefully. , good point actually! Batbrick Away!
  25. Lucky, Aus only has volume 1, I had to order volume 2 in from America for my birthday next week. If you ever feel like it there are a few episodes on the net anyway. Yes, I'll be seeing TDK (no, really? ), Iton Man, possibly Speed Racer, possibly the Incredible Hulk (don't want ot be let down like last time), Indy 4 definitely, Quantum of solace (Bond movie is a must), and definitely Wall E, I love Pixar and that robot nearly killed me with its cuteness Hehe, a win for Batbrick. I really like the head though, the wrinkle under the eyeballs are a great blend of the BTAS black pits and the normal comics look. I don't have a green cape unfortunately so I'll have to order one. Thanks too, though seeing as TLC doesn't release many suit torsos, I'll be hard pressed to find a good torso for him.. Its certainly getting that way... BB Away!
