....yes Well, I think we both know we just had a genius idea, we'll just say that perhaps? That's fine, I'd love to see that, sounds great. And I'd be glad to help, thanks Batbrick Away!

This would also let you put the trees elsewhere on the display! Batbrick Away!

The way Morrison is going I'd say he IS the mystery villain in his latest run It is a great novel, Jeph Loeb has done some great stuff, I thought Hush was okay, but TLH and Dark Victory are brilliant. Oh, yes.... Though I do plan to make a Lego Batman film when I get back into animating. Oh of course, you think you're The Master of Dr.Who knowledge! Maybe she wasn't the main character then, as I'm pretty sure it got cancelled. I think this definitely shows that she needs a bit more showing. I like it, I was hoping that Nolan woludn't go too "realistic" with the scarring, but it looks like a good, slightly uneven, but still split burn from what I can tell. I also like the short clip of Joker burning the mob's money. Good! The Alien/Predator comic crossovers are really just strange, but can be fun. Paul Dini on Detectives? He had a good run last time I believe, though I disliked how Riddler conveniently forgot hoe Bruce Wayne was Batman. You seem to be all over the place, I can barely afford Batman right now, my idea is to shape up a good Batman novel collection then expand to Superman. Though Superman will be harder, I want to collect the best stories but it's hard to find anything truly iconic like Bats except The Death of Superman. I'm a graphic novel guy, I prefer not to collect many issues. I wouldn't know much of Marvel though as I rarely read their stuff, it can be great mind you, but I'm a DC fanboy at heart. That and, from what I've read, Spiderman is going very strange as of recent, didn't his wife get retconned or something? Luckily for me, my mum's university has a far cheaper outlet for ordering Graphic Novels, and she gets them cheaper as she goes there, so instead of 50 dollars for Dark Victory it cost me 35! I swear I read something with Alex Ross art, what else has he done? I didn't think Resurrection was all that great so far, who's writing? I think Ra's is overused of recent, he should be Batman's most powerful enemy, but not turning up every darn issue! Plus the Lazarus pits are getting stale... And of course All-Star is just hilarious, Black Canary's origin is so random! Curious he was never a major Supes Rogue till that movie, Zodd was so cool. Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Dark Victory Oh I've already read it! I just want to buy it now! Though the art was fantastic I'd say the letdown was the Joker himself, he looked like he was diseased or something with all those lines on his face and non-existent red lips. Apart from that it's great, I love the part where Bruce poisons himself to see how the Joker thinks. It was also nice to see Joker started off as more of a hateful revenge being, and following that story become a much.....happier fellow Was his art good in it? Tim Sale is my favourite, so I have to have that and Haunted Knight. Batbrick Away!

Mmmm, Canary.......... And I don't need a pm, I can your quote! Batbrick Away!

Thanks BB1 (oh dear I just realised your self appointed nickname was straight out of Bananas in Pajamas! ), I'm glad you like it. Batty is fine, just don't taunt me....I can be very....persuasive.... As for us having the idea, of course great AFOL Geeky Batman comic nerd fanboys with hight test scores think alike, but this time YOU copied ME! Thanks dragonator, don't worry, the organ music was just for suspense. Yes, the barrel was very convenient, or he placed it there And byy gosh, speaking of Bamtan organ music, check out near the end of this BTAS clip! The Man Who Killed Batman Batbrick Away!

It'd be awesome if he was REALLY the true villain of TDK: "That Joker? He's just a pawn, soon Gotham will fear the power of.....THE KILLER MOTH! For the pistol whipping Two-Face bit? There's a scene in it that made me go giddy when Two-Face beats up Joker following a threat, saying something along the lines of (tying in with TLC) "Who did you think you were dealing with?" *smack!* "Some second rate loser who'd let a maniac beat him up in his own house?" *whop!* "In front of his own wife?" *crunch!* "This is TWO_FACE you're dealing with!" Joker: "Errr" *collapses* Now THAT, is badass Oh woops! I left out a word in the old post, it was meant to say "Like the new series more for some reason" Yes, the little I have seen the show I didn't like the whole romance angle with each, I miss the days of the sidekicks who were good friends, like in the original Dalek eps when he had two accomplices. I don't pretend to have an innate knowledge of the Doctor of course, but I do know more than I let on Did it get cancelled? That might be it if it was. Have you spotted Two-Face, in the car scene with the revolver, pause, you can see a faint part of his burnt flesh on his other side Me neither, but I'll swap them for comics accuracy, you of all people should know that! Now hurry up and post that Bat Goody Part three, I'm waiting to post my dragster already! Oh, and just to engage in a bit more comics talk and off topic banter, what series/comics,novels are you into now? I'm currently obsessed with Batman's early years. Having finally got Year One for my shelf recently, I've turned to collecting Matt Wagner's Dark Moon Rising duology (set during and a tad after Year One), Man Who Laughs (Joker first story directly after Year One, woo!), and Tim Sale's Haunted Knight and Catwoman:When in Rome chronicling her journey during Dark Victory (apparently it has his best artwork, and his - along with Brian Bolland - are my favourite artists). New Indiana Jones KotCS Trailer Released!
Batbrick replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Not sure on this one, I'd thought they would put more effort into making it "old school"... Batbrick Away! -
Great work TinyPiesRUs, your photography is excellent and I laughed at the knight riding the dog! Quite a comical approach to Castle I also loved the Orc school bullies. Batbrick Away!

Thanks everyone! Thanks iamded! I was actually going to give him a flaming torch at first but decided against it when I realised he might kill him, when Batma- er, The Dark Knight doesn't kill , now that's just funny! Thanks....I think.... Much appreciated TinyPiesRUs, I'm glad you like it. I'm very happy that the tan logs worked too. The part out front is supposed to be wheat, in retrospect I should've just put a small dirt line or gate there And I hope to make more! Thanks The Bricksmith, again, I'm happy the log pieces work. I do plan to make more Bat-Castle moc, but I doubt they'll all be in by Castle Month end Thanks The Penguin for commenting, glad you like it. Thanks Whitefang, I'm glad you liked the original too. , I think I might just keep it restricted to vigs this time! Batbrick Away!
-
That's what I hope, we can get a few maniacal laughs out of him. Unless he's more like the BB:ROTJ Joker, who laughs occasionally, but when he did, woah.... Can anyone spot a portion of Two-Face in the trailer, I can! Batbrick Away!
-
Holy moly! I didn't see that coming.... On another note, I love the police boat cameo! Batbrick Away!

Good point there, that creativity can also be done in limits, I like that. Maybe that's also why I like post-apoc, some themes inspire creativity from all themes, some inspire creativity by improvisation. I used a bad analogy there. I merely meant that asking why someone would want to build a post-apoc creation is alike to asking anyone why they would build a town, space or castle creation. So while you may not understand why some people build a deliberately "junky" (but still well made) moc, others might question the use of sleek, clean construction on other creations. It's a matter of taste really. I'd definitely agree that there seems to be a draw, but I wouldn't be so quick to point out just youth. Many, many older people have been writing rather somber stories for ages, heck, even Mary Shelley's Frankenstein has quite a melancholic ending. That said, while I love a good (or bad ) downer ending, I can also love the uplifting ones. Who doesn't get a warm feeling inside at the end of the Shawshank Redemption? That said, perhaps a reason that more people are drawn to more depressing literature/films is because of the world we live in today, one can only look at where we are now and guess where it's all going. Like you, this is just my observation. I'm not really into zombies either, though I have no problem including them in my creations. I am sorry, but what do you mean by "one more challenge"? Are you saying that it is one challenge too many? As for me, post-apoc can fit into more macabre and gothic settings in my eyes, as post-apoc is essentially showing man's problems, weaknesses, strengths and consequences of today, but just exaggerated. Thankyou TheBrickster, it's nice to know you can respect something despite not being a fan of it. Would you ever consider trying ot make something post-apoc, or something alike, just as a one-off shot? I think the problem with it right now is that it has become more of a fad than a thought out idea, I would like to see more people try and put real effort into a totally original setting like iamded did. Ye, destroyed is a very hard thing to do and post-apoc building helped me with that. If nothing else for the critic, it does provide excellent examples of how to make a "ruined" looking creation, while still being actually good (a bit like the Orc siege tower this year, but one more). Of course Post-apoc can fit into a horror subject, I recall a rather gothic tale of a world gone mad with but a few still sane, stalked across the earth, included some suspenseful stuff that I had previously never thought was achievable within the realms of post-apoc. Thankyou, and I am sorry for my part in this. I can only hope sir that you are found to be innocent, and that the real enemy is found

Hello folks! Some of you may remember all that way back to my previous Batman Castlefied vig, Here. Now is a new one I've cooked up, The Dark Knight versus the Strawman! After the brewer of fear escaped from Arkham Dungeon, The Dark Knight set out to hunt him down: Following a trail into the wheatfields, he finds some Jack'O'Lanterns containing the Strawman's fear witchcraft: As the night is dark, the evil Strawman prepares to strike the Dark Knight with his scythe! Will the Dark Knight remain triumphant? Comments appreciated, especially on my using tan log pieces for wheat fields Batbrick Away!

I am at odds that people are accusing me of not being a proper fisherman when my job is just part of this mere game.....of our lives. Still, I would ask that you trust me friends, as though I am sad to have voted for men to be killed, I and most others have been entirely rational about this all. TinyPiesRUs and Hinckley have gone beyond paranoia, twisting each other's words and backstabbing, I say we should be suspicious of both of them, but still think rationally unlike they.
-
Iron Man sounds good then, I look forward to it. I never liked the Spiderman films much, problems with the script for me, but this sounds great, I hope it is Marvel's Bamtna Begins, or better! Though I won't accept any praises of it being "flawless" Batbrick Away!

I understand that, but the question was not of that nature, it was discussing why builders like the theme. I don't build it because of attention, goodness knows I'll have to end my interactive game soon before people think it's stale. I think my creations are good, not as good as the ones you posted, but I think they are original and rather well made, to say that I put a bit of effort into them would be the understatement of the century. No offense taken of course, but I find your views a little odd, why take a stance to a theme like that just because it receives more attention? Granted I agree that you're Halo moc is not nearly your best work (joints were far too exposed ), but if it is of interest than I say it should receive as much attention as possible. The problem is when people start calling it your masterpiece Batbrick Away!
-
What's that supposed to mean? That its builders aren't doing anything "worthy"? Batbrick Away!

I am sorry, Vote: TinyPiesRUs But know this Hinckley, if this man is indeed a government member, then I will vote for you next

I would very much agree with this. Post-Apoc is a great "theme" because each builder has their own unique style and vision of the dreary future, using a far greater imagination and allowing you to create far more of your own world than almost any other theme. Not to mention post-apoc has a deeper meaning in most cases, it reflects the mistakes of this decade/century having a negative impact on our future. Also, there is that "junky" feel as you mentioned, which provides a terrific challenge for those wishing to make a moc that looks good but isn't all sleek and shiny. I make post-apoc because more than any theme I have ever built with, it by far demands the most creativity, thinking and style. Adventurer mocs require thinking and creativity, but not nearly on the scale post-apoc offers, which demands that you create and shape an entire world while combining aspects of past, present, future, fiction and more. Thanks for the comment on my creations too MicVash, have you seen the latest part? As I said before, I would disagree here. Hardcore post-apoc builder, such as myself and others, throw themselves deeply into the world they have created, post-apoc is so open that the scenarios are limitless. Unlike other themes it also can use elemnts from just about any theme ever, I could have castle weapons and viking torsos with and indy hat, and it makes an effective resistance fighter. Because some people love the idea of something that isn't all sunshine and rainbows. I could ask you why you like building Gravestone or Jungle and it would be the same. Lego is widely accepted among AFOLs as an art form when it comes to building, and art isn't restricted to bounderies. Some of the best films, literature and stories ever contained much hardship and downer endings. The zombie concept I would say has been around far before those movies. I'm not sure where zombies fit into post-apoc, but isn't that what makes it great? The fact that I can't give a proper definition of what a post-apoc moc must contain shows just how endless the building opportunities are. Btw, I hope I haven't offended you with this TheBrickster, I mean none, I was just sharing my opinion Now this thing was hard to get looking "junky", I love those log pieces: Batbrick Away!

The Green Mile, a simply beautiful film, the end literally had me at tears when he was to be killed by the electric chair: "Don't put that thing on me! It's dark, I'm afraid of the dark!" Batbrick Away!

Oh dear, we seem to be at odds with each other men. Though Atom Dweller was a traitor I still am uncomfortable around death, but atleast he was not of our great government.... Perhaps, though extremely suspicious, TinyPiesRUs is innocent? I cannot be certain, but he seems more like a fowl man to me, but not a traitor. I will reserve my judgment for now. And sorry men, but no luck of any fish last night!
