  1. Thankyou, I've long learned since not to boast after seeing some truly wonderful creations here, thanks a lot. Thankyou, I agree the legs are a tad thin at the hips, I wish I could've made them a bit bigger. I also agree the hands are a bit clumsy, sure they are appropriate for a digging mech, but with a few more pieces they'd be better. Thanks again, you have no idea how helpful these hints are to me Wow! Thanks iamded, I really wish you a truly happy birthday! Glad you like the SNOT, I tried to keep it studless while making it look 'rough' if that makes any sense I'm glad you like the road barricade piece too, I found it in my yellow collection and thought it'd be perfect. Thanks for your comments a heap, naturally you being the star of this one your opinion was very valuable, so thanks for all the "Wubs" Have a great time following your birthday and remember to be careful with your new toy! Batbrick Away!
  2. I bought mine at Birchalls, so I'm not sure. Batbrick Away!
  3. You FOOL! I will destroy you with your own superior logic! Nah, fair enough, I was only stirring you though, no offense taken I hope And I watched Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade with my father, we love that movie. He fell asleep in the last ten minutes though! Batbrick Away!
  4. Great job! If I find any other great mocs I'll post them, thanks! Batbrick Away!
  5. Er........ Vote: Hinckley I have a feeling this dog is trying t turn us against each other, so for now, the people he listed are not under my suspicion.
  6. Thanks Exobuilder mate! Glad you like it, and don't worry, I'll make you something later Wow, thankyou, I'm really flattered, I am. I'm really glad it looks a lot like iamded too, thanks. And I probably worded the blue collection bit badly, I should've said "Blue slopes" collection, as I had totally run out of any blue sloped in this thing which is why the blue arm has that flat studless piece on it. Thankyou Stauder, I'm happy to please. Thankyou Tacticus, this is my 4th ever mech, so I'm glad people are liking it, I've developed a real love of them and making them all unique. Thanks as always Asuka, I'm happy it's original. The thin hips leading up to a wide frame in particular was extremely hard and fun, so thanks. , yes, it is a bit like that contest insn't it? Thanks for the comment. Thankyou for your kind comments Grevious mate, I liked building a minig mech, and I'm VERY happy you like the greebles and bulkiness, I was afraid it had become silly looking. Thanks LuxorV friend, It's nice to hear it retained RR qualities. Thanks for the comment about my being nice too, but it isn't true, I owed it to him, iamded is a great guy. Can a humble mech builder please have a few questions from a god of mech building please? Did the legs turn out good, as well as the arms? I've been trying to improve and cover up the joints as much as I can while keeping mobility. Is the main body okay? I was afraid it was to chunky. I mean, it IS a sturdy mining mech but still, I just hope the design is good. I am happy with the rock raider torso resemblance though. And one last question, do you think it is unique enough? I was hoping to make something fairly different while still bipedal. Thanks for your comments LuxorV, you are very kind to an amateur like me Batbrick Away!
  7. Hello all, I don't believe there has been a review of this set yet, so I wanted to take this opportunity. Up for review today is 8160 Cruncher Block and Racer X as part of Batbrick and iamded reviews: Here is the box, I have to say I love the art on it. It's very colourful and makes the truck look a lot less crap than it does on the box. Plus, you have to love the "Missile launching action" bit right, am I right? Why are you all staring at me? And here is the back. Pretty generic, but shows some nice details and so forth. Oh dear! In turning around the box have I killed myself AND iamded!? Okay (not ok-ey) dokey, up first is the best part of the entire set: the minifigs! Racer X is wonderful, though coming with a boring Bruce Wayne face. But it is Cruncher Block, his lady Driver Taejo that really shine. Look at those awesome suits! The cool faces! Taejo has a ripped shirt! Now up is the first building part of the set, with me and iamded looking rather slick in X's car. While I'm not a big fan of yellow, it is very nice, and slopes in an underused colour is better than no slopes at all: Front view, the new windshields are fantastic: While a very cool car, it is rather silly of TLC to give us the exact same one we got in the smaller set. I didn't get the smaller set with this car, so I'm still happy, but it is a bad marketing move: Sorry iamded, I know it's your birthday, but......VROOM! Now for the second part of the build and my favourite, the front of the truck: Annoyingly enough, this part opens up to shoot a pointless rubber projectile: To do this, you open the roof (a nice detail btw) and pull back the mechanism, here: Thus blowing the front part open and launching it.....well, not far really The wheels and covers are pretty cool, and the front is nicely designed, the red looks good and the rear vision mirrors are a great touch. And now for the most disappointing part - step three, the trailer: (Note - Clicky joint piece not part of set, just used to hold it up!) That's right, almost the entire thing is open, even the "filled in" side has holes! I'd certainly be cared to be back there, one bumpy hill and back you go! I didn't put the lame computer stickers on, and the control area is pretty lame in general. Not to mention Taejo (who is depicted on the boxart as standing at the desk, would most likely just be sucked out the back at those speeds! There are some pluses too though, like the ridiculously awesome minifig paintings I'll be using for Wayne Manor. Also note the "control" on Cruncher's desk that when turned, turns the gun at the bottom. It's an alright feature: Here is an example, I've shot iamded on his birthday. What? It's a love ray! Haven't you seen the Care Bears? And though I'm not a massive fan of stickers, this is just too cool. The little aquarium is very simple but very clever, using a printed piece between two clear windows to create the illusion of a tank: It looks much better in real life, trust me, and here is a side view to better explain: Now, to connect the two is a good thing, I like the way a simple technic piece assumes the job. Oh, and behold my hand! :skull: The completed truck, which, while a mixed bag, still doesn't look too bad (I guess): Now the completed set, which, despite its unbelievable large flaws, still looks cool. (Warning, the kickass iamded and Batbrick figures do not come with this set): More pics here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=3147324 All in all: Minifigs: 5/5 - Racer X is beautiful, Cruncher Block and the Driver too, and Taejo has a ripped shirt, damn! Design: 2/5 - Pretty poor considering the best part is available in a cheaper set, and only the front part of the truck looks cool, but still not truly awful. Build: 3/5 - Despite having a bad trailer, it was a fun build and sometimes you need something that doesn't take ages to make. Price: 2/5 - Overpriced easily, but Rogue Shadow is worse! Fun: 3/5 - The mere concept of such an open truck kept me playing with this baby for hours! Total: 15/25, not as bad as it would seem. Overall I'm really glad I bought it as the minifigs are fantastic and the paintings and fish tank are cool. It's fun, stupid and downright ridiculous, but while not a great set by any means, certainly isn't as bad in the brick as it looks in photos. Until next time, Batbrick Away!
  8. Oh my goodness, that's beautiful I love these lines: "Yeah, and she was totally hitting on me!" "No...She was hot!" "...Her sexy gaze and siren like voice turned me into a bumbling idiot!" Gotta love Shwartz, but the part that really had me laughing my seat was the cat, I never noticed it in the background drinking there. Very clever and great work, this one has terrific lighting and the virtual game at the start was nice too. Keep 'em coming! A question too, should you get the Star Justice or Space Skulls will you incorporate them into the comic one day, as an official set? I ask this as I was reminded of them when I added up my 08 cost list, and found it to be way too high, I unfortunately can't get them...yet. Batbrick Away!
  9. Now THIS made me laugh! If the spiderman movies (particularly the horrid third one) were comics accurate Gwen Stacy would have come before Mary Jane and be killed by goblin at the bridge, Sandman wouldn't be able to fly, Venom would refer to himself as "we" and wouldn't die in ten minutes, and Doc Ock would be naturally evil instead of being controlled by his robot arms Not to say they aren't great movies (with the exception of 3 of course, that was bad), and I do enjoy watching them. Recently I watched "Robots", it's alright but suffers from major plothole syndrome and formula standard. Batbrick Away!
  10. Bring it on! Batbrick Away!
  11. I bought two of them because I love sand blue so much, and so I could make the wizard's apprentice. Does anyone know if they are selling well? I'd like to think these things could continue next year and beyond. Batbrick Away!
  12. Thanks for the pics metalandi, I simply love that calender and must get it! The peasant torso looks wonderful, and the jester is fantastic, hopefully we'll be able to see what parts are in it soon Batbrick Away!

  15. Happy birthday bud! I hope you had a great one and a great time, sorry i didn't make you anything, I didn't realise it was so soon! Batbrick Away!
  16. Happy birthday iamded, here's a little thing I cooked up for you last week over a number of days. I wanted to improve my mech building skills, and I wanted to incorporate your favourite theme (Rock Raiders) and the look of oyur sigfig for a good b-day present. So, without further ado, I give you the Iamded Rockraider Mech Special! As you can see it has iamded's robot arm, but also the look of a rock raider torso and digging implements on the arms: The back was very hard, but I'm pretty happy with it, considering my poor amount of blue: Your robot arm iamded! Here you are in the cockpit: And here's how you get in: Inside: Sigfig compare, but just imagine you with the rockraider torso: In action, showing off its great balance and digging capabilities: "Why are you doing this? I made this for you!" "Oh, thanks!" I'm really happy with the arms and legs in particular: Last look: More pics here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=317750 Hope you liked it bud! I enjoyed building it for you, hope you have a great birthday! Comments and criticism welcome! Batbrick Away!
  17. Have a great day mate, hope you get all the stuff you want and have a spectacular day. I'll be uploading my birthday present to you soon, look out for it in the space forum! Batbrick Away!
  18. I found all the sets at my Birchalls today, yippee! I bought the three smaller ones, they are all fantastic, my favourite is the Jungle cutter, to me it has the most useful elements and best design. Batbrick Away!
  19. You HAVE to let it slide, Watchmen is amazing, and Rorshach is great, so blakv and white. Batbrick Away!
  20. Yes a darker game than I imagined actually! I love the coin flip too, if there's a single character they've nailed, its him! And yes, Scarecrow fighting with his chat is funny, do you think he'll have fear gas still? Batbrick Away!
  21. *sigh* now what? Read through this: http://www.empireonline.com/trailer/breakd...t.asp?NID=22514 There was another article that confirmed this but I couldn't find it, sorry. Yeah, but it is a nice angle I think, but I'm still annoyed about the whole "I was in a coma so forgot your secret identity" thing Haha, good point, but sometimes I really think the readers could do a better job. Oh, I thought you had, you suggested it for a tale of Black Mask. Wait a moment, that was "War Crimes" wasn't it? How was that then? Who else could it be? You'll never guess what though, but I am slowly transforming my friend into a batfan. He didn't know a thing about him but at my birthday sleepover loved BTAS, and now wants to see BB. He also wants to see a bit more of my comics, muhahAHAHAHA! :skull: Well, now that we have our own thread (pretty much), do you think we can still chat about the Lego? Because I'm dying to tell about all the things I want to do with the new Indy sets, but that would require me to explain a lot of comics nonsense that'll clatter up the other thread Batbrick Away!
  22. Great work here, Solomon was always a good story, and you have done a mighty fine job of making his God's and his temples. Good how you've also made Solomon's temple grander, just like in the big book itself. Batbrick Away!
  23. You have gotta be kidding me! Batbrick Away!
  24. Great work, considering Batman actually HAS a cave, I'd say this is very appropriate. Nice wing design too! Batbrick Away!
  25. Yes, perhaps I was a bit too over-the-top, so my apologies. But if you were to move some of our conversation, I would've expected you to be a bit more understanding as well, considering that we were basically keeping a topic that would've been dead anyway. Fair enough though, you realise I see your logic of course, I was just caught out of the blue. Again my apologies there, perhaps we could both learn form this little encounter? Well atleast we get our own thread to run wild in eh? Yes, I do believe the Tumbler is massively oversized, I will resort to making one like Wetwires for a second, better scaled one I think. Batbrick Away!
