  1. Cheers and yeah I should have used compensate not acknowledge
  2. I'm very new to the whole CADA blocks thing so i was just wondering on a few things from people more in the know. In peoples opinion, if not buying Lego is CADA the best alternative? I've heard their sets are not so much straight copies like some of the others out there and they acknowledge the designers. Is this true? Obviously the upcoming AMG ONE has got my attention, does anyone know a release date for it?
  3. The only news I've seen (true or otherwise) is that the advertised price of $680 has changed to $699
  4. Not sure why the release of the same set in a different colour. In saying that, if I see it at a good price on sale I'll most likely buy it so I have the matching set :)
  5. The Peugeot 9X8 looks great I think. Hope the headlights are the glow-in-the-dark pieces too just to give it that extra touch
  6. For any cricket fans out there, if you can work out the maths required for revised targets after rain delays, you can work out the maths for the Lego pricing system :) To state the obvious though, piece count + weight + royalties + unique parts + packaging + inflation + shipping (did I miss anything?) = Price Not that I care for the crane, I am interested to see the contents as to what justifies the cost as it will probably be a precursor to future sets that I will be interested in
  7. I totally agree with this statement, one of the best examples of this would have to be the corvette in my opinion. The corvette itself doesn't look that good, I do really like the B model also but the moc that was made of the skull was awesome. I bought another one just to build that.
  8. While a percentage of the adult fans and more traditional fans of Lego and Lego Technic may complain about the current trends in design and lack of variety in sets being released, I think we can all agree that their sets would be driven by the market. Add to that the lure of a supercar or something along those lines that the average person may aspire to own would draw in the casual/non-lego enthusiast as well.
  9. If the Lambo is the same size as the Corvette, McLaren and Bugatti I'm going to need to rebuild my car transporter :)
  10. If they get the scale right, this would be another use for the Mclaren F1 wheel covers
  11. I saw somewhere where someone had made a Peugeot 9x8 and it looked really good but i'm pretty sure it was made out of standard bricks and not technic So in summary, this probably doesn't help :)
  12. I think this is the first time I've really noticed things being this quiet regarding the upcoming wave of sets. Is it a case of there's just a lack of new info? And is that normal for this time of year? Or is it a lack of general enthusiasm for the sets to come?
  13. There's no word on the livery of the Camaro at this stage so this may not even be an issue
  14. Looking forward to the Peugeot if for nothing more than a shelf queen next to the rest of cars. It could also serve as a nice update to the 42039 LeMans car. Hopefully they stick with the grey and bright green highlights
  15. I'd assume those that don't like applying stickers are probably not going to like the Nascar :)
  16. While the prices are definitely a blow, I won't say it's out of my budget but it definitely makes me more prudent when buying sets and looking for bargains. Much like in the past, if a set is what "I consider too much" then I just wait for sales
  17. Does anyone in Australia know when the Ferrari Daytona is going to hit the regular retailers? I see the Optimus Prime set is available today but no sign of the Daytona or other Technic Aug 1 sets
  18. Not to be critical, as it's better than what I could do, they look better from a far. Need to find a way to get a sharper edge to the silver
  19. Let me know when they do. I'm yet to see a good deal on Amazon in Australia for anything that i've wanted
  20. Because we always seem to get screwed in Australia that's why :) I can't see the value in the price hike either except for maybe it's a "Ferrari". With freight costs these days we should be thankful it's under $1000
  21. That Pagani is a beast. I wouldn't know where to start to build something like that, let alone have enough pieces to do it. If Lego released this set I would buy it in a second as it would sit perfectly with the other 4 supercars
  22. How you can pick that from a promo photo, where they are generally made to look their best, is beyond me. You may very well be right but i'm happy to wait and see
  23. That's fine as long as you throw out everything else inside the Lambo box
  24. I know the functions are what separate technic from some of the other lego themes but I'll be honest, I really like the supercar series, I have all three so far and they make great shelf queens. So as far as that goes, I love it, I think it looks great and it's going to sit well with the rest. Having said that, I will be waiting for the discounts before I purchase one :)
