So, I'm late to the party on the brick sketches, but I've seen the designers sketch MOCs before, so it's nice they're making a theme out of it. Batman and Joker make sense, but why didn't they do Vader and Luke for the Star Wars debut? Sure, maybe we'll get more down the line, but did they really have to start with a FO Stormie and BB-8? An OT Stormie and R2 would've been better, but I digress... Also, since the mosiacs are going to be pretty large with 1x1 tiles, does anyone worry about a tedious experience? I sometimes have trouble focusing, so greebling and stuff can be challenging (especially things like the Y-Wing's details). I know that's not everyone, but essentially thousands of little pieces (and virtually all tiles) might be hell to assemble. It's an interesting concept, to be certain, so I hope they figure out a way to mix it up, even if it's just differently shaped tiles/studs/whatever.

"T2-B Over" - Rebel Tank Commander Even though it's not the version I'm most fond of (#notmyt2b ), this is really well done. The best thing is that only the turret is really different, so if someone was to do a legends version, they could rework the cannon (if this was a set, of course). But this is beautiful. The rounded sides, the engines, and even the top gun are all remarkably detailed. You would make a fine designer, my friend. Also, I'm happy my various T2-B rants produced this beautiful MOC, it's not a vehicle you see often in LEGO.

Yeah. The NRS I figure at least has a shot given the new game (it's featured on the cover art), UT-AT as most of the larger vehicles have been made lately (Though I suppose an AT-TE could replace it), and the Endor Bunker because, hey, we need it right? And now, some major predictions for this year's August exclusive (one of these has to be right ) We've heard predictions about Maul's Gauntlet, a 501st Y-Wing, or even a Resistance B-Wing. But, I propose to you (one of the following): TIE Bomber: Admiral Ozzel, TIE Fighter Pilot, Stormtrooper, Darth Vader ARC-170: Odd Ball, Clone Pilot, Red R2-Unit, Shaak Ti/Any Jedi Z-95 Headhunter: Same figures I posited above. (Ani, 501st Pilot or Hawk, 501st Trooper) Really out there guess, but: Home One Briefing: Admiral Ackbar, Mon Mothma, Crix Madine, Lando Calrissian, Rebel Commando Also, is anyone afraid we might not get 332nd Troopers due to ? I mean, we finally got a 501st Battle Pack, so maybe not, but I'm hazarding a guess that's why most of the major legions are missing (21st, 327th, Cody). Speaking of other legions, I'd like to eventually see the Iron Legion (from Fallen Order) make it into a battle pack. Alongside the 442nd, but that's a topic for another day.

What irritates me most about that is that we waited like 19 years for an updated Biggs figure, just for them to make a terrible helmet and retire the mold after one use anyway.

To be fair, I don't see what's wrong with a build that uses "basic" techniques. Barracuda Bay does what it's supposed to, remake and update a classic. If you don't like it, that's fine, but that doesn't make it a fail or a bad set.

Duel on Mandalore ($19.99): Ahsoka, Darth Maul. Imperial Troop Transport ($29.99): The Mandalorian, Moff Gideon, 2x Stormtroopers. AT-ST ($49.99): AT-ST Driver, Snowtrooper, Hoth Rebel Trooper B-Wing Starfighter ($69.99): B-Wing Pilot (Human), Rebel Commando (Lt. Blount), Rebel Mechanic. ARC-170 ($79.99): Clone Pilot Odd Ball, Clone Pilot, Astromech Droid, Shaak Ti Hate to say it, but it's almost impossible Lego will give us 6 clone wars sets in January. Some thoughts on your list in particular: - Unlike Clones, I don't think they'll do two Mandalorian BPs back-to-back, especially not a 2v2 (those didn't do so hot anyway). Maybe a fusion of Clones and Mandos could work though, (332nd, Nite Owl, and DW Loyalist) - I personally find the idea of a mix-n-match legion pack off-putting, since it's better to group similar forces together (like the 501st set this year). Maybe limiting the Siege Troopers to Shinies and 212th alone could work, though. - I do like the Endor Speeder Chase, and the Snowtroopers, and I think they're highly likely. The Tank Droid is also a strong possibility, even if I doubt Cody or the Super-Tactical Droid will get figures next year (but fingers crossed) - Still hoping this year's exclusive is either a Blue Y-Wing or the Nightbrother, so I think those are very possible.

I mean, classic stuff is classic for a reason. I personally never grew up with Classic Space, Pirates, Castle, etc., but I look at the brickset entries and appreciate those sets for what they are. I feel that people want moreso the idea of the classic themes conveyed (not straight up rehashes), so modern techniques infused with the curiosity of space exploration, the daring nature of piracy, or the valor of knighthood. I for one would love to see classic themes given a new design, a sort of neo-classic design. As for this new 18+ thing, as long as I don't get carded for buying a Lego set, I'm fine. It's not like it's contraband or something mature, so I don't get why some are acting like it is. I do understand that the idea of something marked "18+" is risky, but not risque. I would be lying if I said I didn't want them to do something a bit more mature set-wise (nothing quite Game of Thrones or GTA), like something military related (even if it's just a Jet or Humvee), but Lego does have values that it upholds and that is commendable. Seriously though, a Haunted House is really kiddish (and yes, I know there are more mature ones), so I think that kinda shows where Lego's mind is at with this rating system. It's the price and piece count, nothing more, nothing less.

That's fair, and of course, I wouldn't expect Lego to outright make sets like The Outrider, Eclipse, or even figures like Kyle Katarn or Jacen & Jaina Solo. But like a battle pack with a vehicle that looks suspiciously like an AT-PT, or a T2-B () would be sufficient. Give us 3-4 Stormies or Rebels and call it a day. At this point, I'd love for them to make an Imperial Legion set like the new 501st one, with an ITT (full interior and cabin), 2x Imperial Combat Drivers, 4 Stormtroopers, 2 Rebel Troopers (Commando Gear). Legends has it's fans, and most sets that Lego could make, they don't. We've needed Padme's Royal Starships, SPHA-Ts, Numerous Trade Federation and CIS vehicles, and not to mention the various craft of the Rebellion (talking fleet-wise). To be fair, smaller sets don't have a lot of options, hence so many Speeders of various designs, but digging deep into old games and whatnot could work. Even just doing EU stuff in general would be nice, and I mean the comics specifically. Might not lead to more ground vehicles, but different craft in general. Tl;dr, at least Legends sets are better than stuff like Yoda Chronicles and Freemakers! (E-Wing excluded) As for that First Order set, I had to look up that AT-AT. Disney really gave no cares. It's one of those funny things about Star Wars, in 20 years we go from Venators and ARC-170s to ISDs and X-Wings (actually more like 5 years in-universe), but the X-Wing design has been in service for like 35 years, and Y-Wing for like 50. Legends did the same thing (X-Wings were around for like, ever ) but at least we got E-Wings, K-Wings, Various cruiser types and so on. It just makes Lego-life harder because for our OT sets (and ST sets for the discerning), we'll only get the same old designs, most of which have been perfected recently. PT sets may get some love, but Lego's very shy about taking risks. Which is fine, if not a little boring. Hopefully break out sets like the 501st Battle Pack will sell well enough to let them know to make more niche sets (even though everyone loves the 501st). Ideally, now with the movies out of the way, we can go back to previous movie-less times (2006-2015) where everyone got a little love.

Like I've said before, the sequels really screwed us vehicle wise. No battles to really replicate (sans Crait) except for micro scale (Starkiller Base, D'Qar), and even then it's damn near impossible (Exegol), because we have nothing but starfighters (and random non-com ships to boot). And the ground vehicles we do get are either repeats of OT models (AT-M6), or a camera on legs (Scout Walker). Rogue One had some killer concept art when it was first announced, and it was exciting to see Alliance Special Forces, in the rain, running out to meet their foes. As much as I like Rogue One, I do wish it was more "boots on the ground". The hovertank is nice, but again, where are the Rebel vehicles? In the old EU they had the T2-B for instance, which remains one of my favorite ground vehicles for the rebels, and the MPTL-2a, which is essentially a Juggernaut for the Alliance. You really can't fight a war with fighters alone. And I know that canonically the Rebels stole a bunch of equipment, but they obviously got supplied goods of their own, otherwise they'd look even less organized. Long story short, lore-wise Disney doesn't provide much when it comes to ground combat. But, Lego's given us random vehicles from Legends before (Sandspeeder most notably, but other non-canon craft as well), so ideally, they should do a random set like that every year or so. Especially now that there aren't any more movies or tv shows coming out (with few exceptions). So instead of tying sets to the movies/tv shows, they should do like a generic "Star Wars" set. Throw in some Rebels and some Stormtroopers and call it good. Probably will never ever happen, but hey, one can dream right?

These are good ideas. I'd also maybe throw in a T2-B for the Rebels, given how Lego's not opposed to using Legends vehicles. Also replace Cad Bane with Asajj Ventress. I for one have always loved the ground battles moreso than the space ones (I know, sacrilege.), so it bums me out that Lego-wise there are so many starfighters and not a lot of ground vehicles. But speeders and random craft aplenty.

I think the only way we'll get good army builders (not just for the Republic), is if we get more troopers per set. Instead of like 1 Stormtrooper in a set that costs $100, make it 2. Simply put. My Ideal Army of the Republic set: ($299.99): Republic Dropship, AT-TE, AV-7, Command Center. Commander Cody, 4x 212th Troopers, 2x Airborne Troopers, 2x Clone Pilots, 2x Clone Gunners (I'm a huge 212th fan) Mix it up for different battalions (AT-OT for 327th, UT-AT for Nova Corps, A6 for Kashyyyk), mod some vehicles for different factions (AT-AT and AT-ST for Empire, Rebel fighters, various large droids for the CIS). Honestly, any way to army build figures for less than 10 per $100 on bricklink is fine by me. And, new idea for this summer's retail exclusive:

I remember "Destroy Malevolence" now that you mention it. But even so, it's pretty unlikely that it's TCW related, as the one in 2010 was from Lair of Grievous (with Vebb and the doctor droid). I've noticed that some TCW sets followed a pattern of Movie-Show-Movie (AT-TE, LAAT, Juggernaut, etc.) so I assume that will be the case with Soulless One.

Was it in "Lair of Grievous"? I might have to rewatch that episode. I never finished the story reels, so I guess there's that. Either way, it's still ROTS, unless Anakin's the third figure... I know. I meant EU as in Legends/Disney comics/books.

Dang, that's a nice solution. I personally use a black lightsaber hilt with the 4L light bluish gray bar (picked it up from someone on here years ago) on mine, but harpoons are a clever alternative.

Well, given that the Soulless One has never appeared (to my knowledge) outside of ROTS or EU sources, it's got to be a ROTS set. We also know from Stonewars that it's (a) a clone, (b) a colored clone, And we know from @Hoth Rebel that it's not Commander Cody. Leaving us with either a normal 212th, or an Airborne Trooper. Also, Also also, I don't know about anyone else, but Grievous has always looked more tan than white to me (especially ROTS Grievous). He was white in the 2003 Clone Wars, but turned out more tan in the movie.

I swear if Lego releases a First Order one before remaking the original, I give up.

At first the helicarrier looked really off-putting to me, but on second consideration, I actually like it. Avengers Tower is clearly a 4+ set, for what that's worth But yeah, great figures (especially the amount we get), MODOK does nothing for me (not a fan of brick-built figures), but I might pick this one up.

And yet, despite financial numbers, we love ROTJ and ROTS more. Imo, I don't judge performance by money, I judge it by reception. Sure, I met plenty of people who said "It was great!" right after release, but overall, the general consensus (and long time fans) has determined that the movie was not great (and in my opinion, terrible). Diamond Select, a company that produces busts recently said that the demand is not there for ST merchandise. People like to think it is, but if there was, we'd have more of it. Lego was the only company to give TROS a dedicated wave of toys. Hasbro gave us a couple figures here and there and called it quits (unlike TLJ and TFA), most other companies just produced final figures of Rey and the Sith Troopers, and maybe Kylo with scorched helmet. Lego does a lot of stupid things, financially suicidal things. A Duel on Exegol for more than $30-$50 would be the epitome of stupid. I want Palpatine in all his Sith glory as much as anyone, but I don't want to shell out ludicrous amounts of money for him. However, in that same interview with Diamond Select, they did tell us what merch people are wanting: Clone Wars and The Mandalorian. And of course the original six films. Rogue One probably has a spot in there somewhere too. In conclusion, let the past (the Sequels) die. It's what Kylo would want. Long have I waited... for Lego to release another ARC-170. But I will probably wait even longer. Both Return of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith are fan favorites (right next to ESB), so it makes sense that they receive tons of merchandise. Compared to Attack of the Clones, which is much more derivative among fans, even moreso than Phantom Menace. (anyone like sand?) ROTS and TPM have had more sets in single years than AOTC has had in 2 decades. So fan reception has power. Clone Wars got more sets and as a sub-theme lasted longer than Rebels, Empire pretty much dwarfs all other OT movies in number of sets. There's a reason for that.

And instead of enlightening us by elaborating on this point, you just say "It's Nazi colors" multiple times. You could just let it go. In any case, I think it's clearly established that the colors fit the build. Or maybe I'm just color-blind. Then again, instead of the cross it could be replaced by an Imperial cog, and all this would finally settle.
