Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

I swapped out the head for the one from the Mario Gotze (German soccer player) minifig. It’s perfect. I haven’t found an alternative for the hair though. He has a buzz cut in the movies but they gave him an Afro piece. I’d love to hear any suggestions for alternatives. -

It only cost me $5 plus shipping for the entire minifig that it comes with but when I just checked eBay for it the part alone is going for $19.95 plus shipping. -

A perfect but expensive solution that I also decided to go with for Kingsley. It’s a $20 piece but I love that minifig so much that I had to get it. -

Nope. Watch the video. In the Frozen set alone, you get: a large printed oval cover piece a printed lock plate 3x printed window shields a printed rug tile a printed painting of a ship tile the printed piano piece 2x printed decorative gold tiles and I’m probably missing a few. Yes, I’m sure there will be a sheet of optional stickers to decorate with and a few elements will have to be stickers, but LEGO is really good about printing essential pieces in the sets for their younger audience. -

Not necessarily. Sets designed for a younger audience tend to only include a few decorative stickers and LOADS of printed elements. Take a look at some of the LEGO Disney Princess Books reviews. They are mostly printed elements with a few stickers here and there for decoration. -

I think this exactly right. One side of the book will be the classroom, the other side will be the dorm or common room. It’s actually a really neat concept. And as it’s targeted to a younger audience, I think we are likely to get some great printed pieces in addition to the stickers. Also, important to note that all of the LEGO Disney Princess Books feature two distinct rooms on each side of the central build. Take a look at this example from Disney’s Frozen: -

I’m pretty sure both the Hufflepuff and Slytherin books contain their respective house “dorm” or “common room”. The Hufflepuff book description says it includes two beds - but could these be flower beds? The Slytherin book describes a couch or armchair - I imagine this will be the green leather sofa that Malfoy sits on when Harry and Ron (as Crabbe and Goyle) try to find out who the heir of Slytherin is. Is anyone else interpreting this the same way? -

Wow! This is unexpected news, but now we know what the HP-4 code was for and I assume this is where the Monster Book of Monsters rumor originated as well. I think that the fact that these sets are all based on Hogwarts interiors also points to what many have been speculating - we probably will not be getting another big Hogwarts castle set next year. Especially if the Hufflepuff and Slytherin common are included here. I will probably just take out the interiors and try to build some MOCs that connect to the Room of Requirement and run along the back of my current Hogwarts display. The books themselves will look great as book end pieces on my shelves. -

Could this be a possibility? There is the reality of the HP-4 set code to consider as well as the rumor of the Monster Book of Monsters set... -

I agree. I think the ship build won’t be nearly as long as the Pirates ships because the Durmstrang ship is really a tall ship with a big ship castle. I disagree with the minifig lineup though. I doubt Ron and Hermione or little miss Delaceour will be included. I imagine the set will only feature: Harry (gills and fins) Cedric (bubble head) Fleur (bubble head) Krum (shark head) Karkaroff Durmstrang student Rita Skeeter Mermaid Gryndilows x2 -

This looks amazing! The buildings will need several tall wonky chimneys, but I imagine that’s hard to realize in a microscale sketch. I can totally see a set like this costing less than Diagon Alley. Maybe $300 - $350. Throw in the Shrieking Shack as a separate $70 release with an exclusive werewolf Lupin minifig and I’m sold. I think most fans who have been to the Wizarding World at Universal Studios would definitely want this. And, as others have said, fans of the Christmas Village series. Who knows - maybe we will get two D2Cs in a row if Diagon Alley sells like hot cakes! -

Me too! If we eventually get a D2C Hogsmeade set, I can definitely see Katie being one of the minifigs included. Hopefully she will come with the cursed necklace from Borgin & Burke’s and a floating / possessed action feature -

Has anyone figured out how to watch LEGO Jurassic World Double Trouble yet? I’m in the US and it’s not on the Nickelodeon app or even the Apple TV Shows for purchase feature. Can’t find it anywhere on the web either. -

Here’s the official LEGO concept sketch for the interior of the canceled Malfoy Manor set from 2011: Good point. Maybe LEGO will be generous and give us the Year 2 version of the Chamber and let us make our own basilisk skeleton for the DH scene. I would love a big badass Basilisk build, Fawkes with open wings, and Harry, Ginny, Lockhart, and Tom Riddle minifigs. -

There’s actually an official LEGO sketch of a Malfoy Manor set that was supposed to come out in 2011 - I will look for it but it basically features a facade of the Manor (which is technically just the famous Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire with some scary pointy turrets on top of it) and an interior great room space with a chandelier, Narcissa, Bellatrix, our heroes, and a little battle scene. Edit: Here is a link to a killer MoC someone made back in 2011. Still looking for the official LEGO concept sketch. If anyone else has it, could you please share? -

I think there are quite a few more missing from that list, which is what makes this such an exciting and potentially long-lived series in my eyes. In addition to the missing minifigs you mentioned - and just off the top of my head: - Lee Jordan - Colin Creevey - Angelina Johnson - Cormac McLaggen - Justin Finch-Fletchley - Bem (Black boy with several lines in POA - talks about the Grim) - Borgin - Daedalus Diggle - Narcissa Malfoy - Rufus Scrimgeour - Percy Weasley - Bill Weasley - Katie Bell - Madam Rosmerta - Tom the Innkeeper - the Ravenclaw ghost - Mrs. Figg - several minor Goblin characters - Firenze - the Hogwarts Knights - Xenophilous Lovegood - Elphias Dodge - Bathilda Bagshot - KREACHER - Mundungus - several random Ministry wizards and witches - several random Death Eaters And these are all just minifigs - imagine if you start adding missing creatures to this list. I have a strong feeling that this series is going to become one of the permanent pillars of LEGO. -

As much as folks really want another large Hogwarts modular set, the reality of the situation is that (unless something changes) we will only be getting 6-8 sets next year. And two of those sets will probably be for Fantastic Beasts 3. With as many iconic scenes and locations still left to produce, the Bell Towers - which even diehard Harry Potter fans struggle to identify - just doesn’t make sense as a $100+ set. My prediction is that we will get: - Gringott’s Bank - $100+ - Durmstrang Ship - $99 - Malfoy Manor - $60 - Chamber of Secrets (DH2) - $50 - FB3 Niffler Creature Build - $40 - Viaduct Final Battle - $30 - Forest of Dean - $20 - Small Fantastic Beasts 3 Set - $20 -

I’ve said it before, but I am also really doubtful that we will get another big Hogwarts expansion set. There are so many other big $100+ sets we could get next year that are more iconic than the Bell Towers. Gringott’s will be at least $100 and I have a strong feeling we will be getting a $100 version of the Durmstrang ship, which was included in “toy” form in this years Advent Calendar. I do think we will probably get another small Hogwarts expansion set - maybe the size of the Whomping Willow or the Room of Requirement set. My money is on us getting a WW size Chamber of Secrets with the Basilisk skeleton and a small turret with the girl’s bathroom and maybe Slytherin dorm. Maybe another small set with the Hufflepuff dorm and a different version of the RoR Someone on here had the brilliant idea of us getting sets based on the horcruxes which I think makes a lot of sense. So Gringott’s where the Hufflepuff horcrux is found, the Ministry where the Slytherin horcrux is found, the lake where the Slytherin horcrux is destroyed, the Chamber of Secrets where the Hufflepuff horcrux (and Tom Riddles diary) is destroyed, the Room off Requirement where the Ravenclaw horcrux is found and destroyed, and the Viaduct / Courtyard where Nagini is killed. Don’t get me wrong - I would love to get a Bell Tower set (even though I don’t know where I would connect or display it) but I sadly think the Astronomy Tower is the last of the big Hogwarts expansions until they start redoing iconic locations like the Great Hall. -

I just came across some interesting news which we must have missed last week in the excitement around the Diagon Alley set’s release. WB has officially confirmed that it will resume filming for Fantastic Beasts 3 next month in the UK and continue through February 2021. As of right now, it doesn’t look they will be filming in Brazil after all. The film is still slated for a November 12, 2021 release, which means we will almost definitely be getting a few Fantastic Beasts sets as part of next year’s Wizarding World wave. I’m curious to hear what sets folks think we could be getting. Obviously, we don’t know any details about the movie’s plot, but I could see a set from the last film being included. Maybe the Circus Arcana with the Chinese Zowwu or the LeStrange Mausoleum with the blue fire dragon or the British or French Ministry of Magic? https://screenrant.com/fantastic-beasts-3-filming-start-date-october/ -

Also - Page 666! My lucky number Maybe we will get some dark sided news today. Fingers crossed it’s that HP-4 is Borgin and Burke’s and it’s coming out as a Christmas surprise lol. And I forget who said this about the Chamber of Secrets not being possible because it’s an underground set - but I couldn’t disagree more. LEGO could easily make a Room or Requirement sized set where the ground floor is the Chamber and there is a small turret that represents the girls bathroom and has a little trap door so your minifigs can fall down into the Chamber. It could even have another turret that is the Slytherin dorm. LEGO has shown that the interiors of the castle are very very loosely based on what is actually supposed to be inside them. I see no problem with making the Chamber a ground floor set but still giving it the feeling of being under the girls bathroom. Someone else on here has actually done an excellent mock-up of a small modular set that features the Chamber as well as the girls bathroom and the Slytherin dorm. Whoever that was - do you mind sharing your mock-up again? Hahahah yesss! -

The “official” LEGO setup now has the Clocktower attached to the back left of the Great Hall, which is movie accurate but looks terrible in my opinion. I display it in the center, because I like how the sets look in one long linear display. I think if we do eventually get the Bell Towers, we will have to see a shift in how LEGO suggests you connect the sets. I’m imagining more or a circle or semicircle display (kind of like how the castle is depicted on the Marauders Map). But I’m still not ? sold on the idea that we will get another big section of the castle though... I can maybe see another Whomping Willow size set - hopefully the Chamber of Secrets as it appears in DH2 with a girls bathroom and Slytherin common room.
