  1. Good point. But what if we make the (big) assumption that LEGO will base these four sets on seasons 1-3 of Camp Cretaceous? What four sets based on that show would be the most plausible with the facts we have? Other than the LEGO Jurassic special “Double Trouble,” there is no new Jurassic content to base these on. I guess if the made-up sets with the rando blue vehicles are working, why change the formula, but I feel like LEGO would be smarter if they monetized the success of the new Jurassic TV show. Or they could go back to content from the previous Jurassic movies. It’s an interesting situation that I don’t think any other LEGO license is dealing with right now.
  2. Oh really? Darn. I thought it sounded too good to be true. Thanks for clarifying. I’d still be interested to know what other folks think these four sets could be based on the facts that we have? Prices, piece counts, no new species, past releases, etc.
  3. Thanks. Based on the info we have from @lego_guyon02 and the additional info he shared that we won’t be getting any new species, I figured they were fair theories. My major assumption is that LEGO uses Camp Cretaceous as its source material this year. Could just be random sets again. I just remembered that one set name we do have is for the 4+ set: 76939 - 129 pieces - 4+ / Juniors - $39.99 - Outbreak of T Rex and Triceratops As has already been mentioned, the super generic name gives us no clue as to what the set really includes other than a T Rex and a Triceratops (and some awesome printed pieces which is why I like 4+ sets). So I doubt any of the other four sets will include a T Rex or a Triceratops based on this, which means my Dino Hunters prediction is probably wrong, but I suppose it’s possible. I’d be interested to know what other folks think these four sets could be based on the facts that we have? Prices, piece counts, no new species, past releases, etc. LOL
  4. Thanks @lego_guyon02 ! The biggest question remaining for me is, will LEGO be taking advantage of the Camp Cretaceous show this year. I know we had a baby Bumpy last year, but that felt almost like a wink to the show - not a direct reference. These are probably way off, but If I had to wager a guess on these based on pricing and piece counts and the assumption that LEGO will wisely draw some inspo from Camp Cretaceous, I would say: 76940 - 198 pieces - $29.99 - Baryonyx Escape - includes recolored Baryonyx, dino cage, and CC minifigs from the scene where they free the trapped Baryonyx 76941 - 240 pieces - $49.99 - Dino Hunters - includes recolored Triceratops, tents, Jeep, and CC minifigs from scene where big-game hunters are foiled in their plot to hunt dinos 76942 - 308 pieces - $79.99 - Carnotaurus Attack - includes recolored (possibly remolded) Carnotaurus Toro, build representing the CC Tree House, and CC minifigs
  5. No LOL He is just wish listing again as usual. If folks don’t have legit info like @lego_guyon02 please don’t try to pass off rumors “from your friends” as anything other than your personal wishlist. I know news is slow to come on this series and I am frustrated as much as anyone else about it, but there are legit things we can discuss. For example, we do have pricing and piece counts - right? Could someone please remind me what those are? I’d be interested to hear what folks are theorizing the sets could be based on pricing and piece counts.
  6. And I just gotta say, I hate it. EuroBricks is not a political forum. Red MAGA hats and other hate symbols have no place on a kids’ toy forum. Let’s stick to LEGO please.
  7. @Textorix this is AMAZING! I keep zooming in to check out all the details. And I’m so happy you’ve come around on the new sets! Can’t wait to see how you incorporate the rest of the new elements here. Thanks for sharing.
  8. For anyone who still doesn’t believe that the new Hogwarts system was designed to be a series of interlocking interior focused play sets (cough @Textorix cough) take a look at LEGO’s marketing images on their S@H site. The 2018-2020 sets all feature an exterior castle image for their thumbnails. When you click through to look at the product, all the photos of kids playing with the sets and the photos that feature the sets on display focus on exterior shots. Compare that to the new 2021 Hogwarts anniversary system - the main thumbnail image for the biggest set in the new series is an interior image. They have even arranged the interior “backwards” so that the tower is on the right to make it more reminiscent of the Great Hall / Grand Staircase Tower silhouette. Also all of the photos of kids playing with the sets feature interior shots only. My point being - the 2021 sets are neither worse nor better than the 2018-2020 sets. Obviously, we all love the original reboot sets - that’s why we’re here. They featured gorgeous (mostly) screen accurate exteriors that allowed you to recreate your own Hogwarts for display. The 2021 sets are not that. Instead we are getting beautiful highly detailed interiors that are both playable and displayable. It’s something different. Something that feels a bit younger. Something nostalgic... I for one can’t wait to get my hands on the Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets set, as well as the Polyjuice Potion set and the Forbidden Corridor set so I can put them all together and relive a bit of childhood magic. I’m also ridiculously excited over those tiny printed Chocolate Frog tiles... Gimmick or no, they got me hook line and sinker. The whole concept gives me a major Mini Brands vibe and I love it. For those that don’t know - Mini Brands are super popular mystery toys in the US where you collect tiny versions of your favorite branded items - from itsy bitsy Cheerios boxes to little bottles of Hershey’s chocolate syrup. Gotta collect em all.
  9. Has anyone else noticed that the Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets set (aka Frogwarts) is designed to feature the Grand Staircase Tower on the right-hand side only when the set is turned around facing the inside? The only time the tower is on the right for the exterior is on the cover art and the pieces are not connected. I assume this is to help make the building (Great Hall and Tower) recognizable from the front) on the box art. This drives home the point for me that this new series was designed to be displayed with the beautiful interiors facing out, unlike the 2018-2020 sets that were designed to be displayed with the exteriors facing out. It’s fun to start unraveling the mysteries of this new series of LEGO HP sets and the thought process behind their design now that they’ve been officially revealed!
  10. I can’t stop looking at the interior of the Frogwarts Chamber of Secrets set... It really is spectacular. Did someone say that there are seven frogs in it?? I can only count five - three chocolate frogs, one pink frog, and one white frog.
  11. All I can say is WOW. They did it. They really did it. LEGO achieved what many of us thought was impossible after the initial blurry leaks and disappointing warnings. The new Harry Potter sets are all at once playable, displayable, collectible, and in some inexplicable way they manage to fill me with a warm sense of nostalgia that feels like I just took a swig of Madam Rosmerta’s famous fire whiskey. In order of my most favorite to least favorite: 1. Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets (AKA Frogwarts - the designer must really like frogs - I counted at least three!) 2. Hogsmeade Village Visit 3. Hogwarts Fluffy Encounter 4. Hogwarts Polyjuice Potion Mistake 5. Hogwarts Wizard’s Chess 6. Hogwarts Flying Lesson 7. Fawkes, Dumbledore’s Phoenix 8. Harry and Hermione Buildable Figures
  12. THIS. Exactly the point I was trying to make but you’ve articulated it much better. Thanks @Metanoios91.
  13. I’m still not convinced. “Hogwarts Icons” sounds like the perfect name for the set of brick built Harry and Hermione figures. Harry and Hermione are literally Hogwarts Icons. The term Icons usually refers to people (e.g., Hollywood Icons, Sports Icons, etc). “Hogwarts Icons Collection” could also imply that there will be more iconic characters added to this new line in years to come. I am still holding out hope that the $250 D2C will not be a random assortment of brick built knick knacks from Dumbledore’s office: the sword of Gryffindor, a snitch, and (🤢) the sorting hat 💩. @Guyon2002 have you or anyone you know actually seen the D2C yet? Or is the name all you can confirm? Because there has already been some confusion over which set is the D2C - originally the leaks were that it was the chess set. Perhaps this could just be a similar situation?
  14. EuroBricks won’t let photo links embed anymore, but here is the link since the official LEGO Instagram just published it: https://www.instagram.com/p/CNSW6Lcr_mS/?igshid=15xha0asmedt7
  15. As @Guyon2002 already pointed out, Harry, Ron, and Hermione are the faces of this franchise. If we ever get another CMF and these three are not include, I will be the one eating my hat. Besides, there are lots of variants of the golden trio that we still have not received. I literally can’t even with this comment... Like... what? “How do we teach boys to hit on girls?” Certainly not with a rapey cartoon skunk from 1945 called Pepe La Pew. How about men have meaningful conversations with boys about dating and relationships and the concept of consent? And how is this even an appropriate comment in the LEGO Harry Potter 2021 thread? Maybe you can start a new forum for LEGO Looney Tunes and talk about your love of La Pew there. Back to topic please.
  16. I was thinking the exact same thing... Hopefully the 2022 sets prove us wrong. When he was just a designer and not a manager, Marcos created sets like the Ewok Village 10236 and the Disney Castle 71040 - arguably two of the greatest LEGO sets of the last decade (maybe of all time). Maybe he will be the design master tasked with giving us Gringott’s in 2022 if we don’t get it this year. I would be over the moon.
  17. No, not new. Marcos was in charge of the LEGO Harry Potter relaunch in 2018 and oversaw the 2019 series, the 2020 series, and the controversial 2021 anniversary series. He is a flawless designer, but I also sensed something was off with this year’s process. While I’m sure the sets won’t be as bad as we have been led to believe, what we’ve seen and heard rumors about so far seems so bizarre and disjointed. You can almost feel the tension that there must have been within the team and with LEGO management in these sets.
  18. In case anyone missed the news today, Marcos Bessa (who is the design manager of the LEGO Harry Potter line) announced that he is stepping aside from his role as a LEGO Design Manager and taking on an exciting new role as a LEGO Design Master. He posted a very thoughtful essay on Instagram about why he and the LEGO management made this decision, which is an interesting read if you have some time. Ultimately, it sounds like he did not enjoy the responsibility of managing a team last year (notably the team that produced this polarizing LEGO Harry Potter 20th Anniversary series) and will now be focused on builds and creative design. I really do hope Marcos still gets to work on the LEGO Harry Potter line in the future... He is hands down my favorite LEGO designer. If anyone here has any more insight on the role of a Design Master, I’d be interested to learn more. Here is the link to his announcement: https://www.instagram.com/p/CNH9xQhJ1vH/?igshid=1tqxg20g83suj
  19. Cho wears a jacket this color when she sees Harry on the Hogwarts Express for the first time in Goblet of Fire. “Two pumpkin pasties please.” But it’s a jacket not a sweater... Unless this is the back of the jacket? If these are in fact real, I definitely don’t think Cho and Hermione are from the same set.
  20. A new Cho Chang has supposedly leaked too. She’s in a lilac sweater. In a little individual baggie with the alleged new Hermione from Deathly Hallows.
  21. This is the set that @Falconfan1414 hinted was a brick built version of Neville’s Rememberall. Yes you read that right. He said it was a Rememberall. Not a Golden Snitch. Not a Quaffle nor a Bludger. A Rememberall.
  22. I will just underline the fact that - from a marketing and sales perspective- a Gringott’s release this year makes much more sense than waiting until next year. LEGO will want to maximize revenue from the folks who bought Diagon Alley last year by selling them the (highly-demanded) expansion set as soon as possible. Also, they will want to still have Diagon Alley for sale for the folks who buy Gringott’s first and then decide they want to purchase the rest of Diagon Alley. The longer LEGO waits to release Gringott’s, the more potential revenue it loses - not least of which is in terms of cross-product pollination and cross-product marketing potential.
  23. @Falconfan1414 and @Guyon2002 have both stated that they do not yet not know what the D2C is. When falcon said he would “eat his hat” again after the recent news, he made it clear that it was based on his own speculation. That doesn’t mean anyone on here has the right to be rude to them or to call them and @Brick Clicker liars or anything like that. They are under no obligation to share the information they do have with us. We are lucky to have them otherwise this whole leak season would have been unbearable. Let’s show a little civility.
  24. ⬆️ this was my post after watching Marcos Bessa’s interview last weekend, and these were Falconfan and Guyon’s responses ⬇️. Falconfan, I’m praying I have an opportunity to prove you wrong but I’ll be sending you one of those chocolate sorting hats cuz I still have love for you Guyon, this response made me scratch my head because I read “well...” as: Guyon has more info on Gringott’s that will be coming out eventually... Is it true? Did you have an idea that the chances for Gringott’s were still there? I know it’s still not confirmed, but I am keeping the faith as I said originally. Gringott’s 2021.
  25. It has to be Gringott’s! It’s the one set that almost everyone can agree we want and need. Keep the faith folks! I knew Marcos wouldn’t let us down!
