  1. Hi, you mean the 75218 ? regarding the y-wing, i will try to get the 75249 and the 75172 if i can and keep both or mod one, I don't know yet, because one has a great body while the other has a better shaped cockpit I'm waiting for black friday to check prices
  2. Hi, I am realizing that collecting Lego SW sets is an expensive hobby but also it takes too much space... I am currently selling my UCS ships (X-Wing, Snowspeeder and Y-Wing) (btw, if anyone interested, please let me know, the first 2 ones are built, the Y-wing is still MISB). Snowspeeder I will not replace it because i am happy with the minifig-sized one from the anniversary and had the size I was looking for next to the AT-AT. I am thinking of replacing the X-Wing and Y-Wing by smaller ones, minifig-sized. any advice ? - y-wing: 75249 or 75172 ? - x-wing: resistance 75149 or wait for Q1 2021 set ? thanks a lot
  3. Depends on how much you are willing to spend or how detailed you want it to be, I was asking the same question a few weeks ago and ended up buying a 75153 AT-ST. Pretty happy with it. AT-ST MOCs, I would have spend at least 150 euros. Here 35 euros + some extra pieces I have replaced because discolored over time + extra pieces to mod it to accommodate 2 pilots, so around 40 euros in total
  4. I finally ordered helmets because cutting them won't give a good result I was asking because bricklink is as a cheap as you believe... i needed several helmets and there is no a lot of stores having the number of helmets needed... Some are used, others are new. Plus shipping... like for example from Germany to France or italy to France, shipping is extremely expensive especially if the seller charges handling fees. I am trying to optimize and reduce my costs as much as I can. Just to give you an example: I just bought 4 snowtroopers backpack printed tiles 1x1, they costed me 0.99 euro, but handling and shipping: almost 3 euros... unfortunately minifigs and SW accessories are not available for sale on lego.com otherwise I wouldn't have struggling with this...
  5. thanks for your feedback. As there is a tolerance for manufacturing those click hinges, the situation might happen for some people, be discreet for others or not happen at all. I have tried to replace my click hinges yesterday by older ones, but as it is impossible for me to measure the clutch power, I cannot rely on my touch and feel. And I definitely don't want to walk into the room one day and see my AT-AT on the ground or at least down on the shelf, so I will be keeping my mod. Anyway, try to put your AT-AT in other walking positions and leave it that way for a while to see if it moves.
  6. I need snowtroopers without the backpack attached to the helmet but I only have those with it originally molded. Would it look bad if it cut the backpack with a sharp knife ?
  7. i still don't understand why there is only 1 pair of click hinges at these locations on the AT-AT while the AT-DP and AT-ST got 2
  8. very impressive yes, sharing or selling the instructions would be nice
  9. Hi, Not at home for a few days, so I cannot make new pics, but it doesn't add up more space at this location, or at least it doesn't compromise the design in my humble opinion but i'll leave it to you to determine if you should go this way or not. My priority was to secure the walker and prevent it from falling off so i modded all the legs and didn't simply try to replace new click hinges by the older ones. I actually don't know if replacing them would be enough because we discussed about this with 75054 AT-AT owners and on this previous set, the hinges were placed vertically and aligned with the legs, while on the 75288, they are already folded at 90°, which already reduces their strength compared to if they were placed flat at 180° on the 75054. Anyway, could you give it a try and let me know if replacing hinges would be enough ? If so, this means that the mod is not necessary and I would revert back to the original set design when I have time. So far, my walker fell off in any position except when the legs were totally straight so i did what i could as quickly as possible to prevent it.
  10. do you think Lego will release the Bespin Duel outside North America ? in the past, did they release regional sets only or did they release a set in a region first before the rest of the world later ?
  11. Hi could you please let me know the part number of the black spring used for the cannon ? thanks
  12. I owned speederbikes with snowtroopers and just purchased and received scout troopers to replace snowtroopers I felt like it was a better fit with scout than snowtroopers which i will re-use for the Hoth battle and populate the AT-AT (which has 5 seats)
  13. Hi everyone, following our recent discussion on the general topic, i finally received the pieces to mod my AT-AT 75288. I found out that the rotating parts at the hips and knees (Lego only put 1 set flex joints instead of 2 on the AT-ST and AT-DP), so it was easier for them to turn on this set. As a result, by itself, the AT-AT started sliding down depending on how it put the legs. I was really afraid it would crash down if i didn't put its legs straight and even tho, it didn't feel very stable. Owners of previous sets didn't encounter this issue because Lego change the orientation of the flex joint attached to the body... Someone found out that Lego changed one of the part between older sets and this one There is a theory about the decrease of clutch power with the new part. I can only confirm through my touch and feel that older parts were stronger than the new ones. So I doubled the number of flex joints for each leg and removed some original pieces to insert the modded legs so that the hips do not look larger. I also added bigger inverted radars so that the top of the legs look stronger/bigger than the bottom under the knees (Lego originally put the same size of inverted radars). To be done later... reinforcing the inside of the thighs so that the AT-AT stops having skinny legs ;) thanks again for your responses and advices in the general topics which helped me a lot modding this AT-AT. It is much stronger now original parts removed:
  14. Hi, how's the size of your MOC compared to the UCS set ?
  15. Will do that from now on thanks ? I checked this morning my past orders on BL, except special pieces that are not available on the lego store or minifigs, I could have saved around 200 euros this year if I had done that (so it would have covered the equivalent of a 75288 AT-AT and one other small set) moreover, my kylo ren command shuttle could have been nicer too as it is fully black with brand new pieces instead of used pieces :( Lesson learned, i'll use lego.com for ordering pieces when i'll build Starbricks' bomber
  16. clearly the best MOC of gunship so far but for the cannons/engines, a bit too bricky/angular if you could mod them like brickvault, the ship would be awesome are the instructions available somewhere ?
  17. stupid me... spent a fortune on several stores to build some MOCs, believing that this kind of marketplace would be cheaper than Lego itself I will definitely spend more time comparing both before placing an order next time I could have saved a lot of money over a year if i have done this before
  18. I needed some parts and I was browsing BL, i ended up having carts from different stores I tried making the same list on lego.com and finally got a better price for brand new pieces than on BL... So except for special pieces, is lego.com always the cheapest way to buy pieces ?
  19. i'm not familiar with stud.io so could you please let me know how to mod the front of the cockpit to put the red trans tiles ? thanks
  20. you can still cancel your bid (as long as you don't do that too often it won't harm your ebay rating)
  21. actually i mentioned the knees but the back hips as you call it is also an issue, i am trying to fix both, so actually the whole leg without having an impact on the design especially having larger hips i had to dismantle the legs of my AT-ST and AT-DP to make some tests, I had enough parts to try only one leg so far but it seems to be working I shared the same discussion on another forum and someone found out that Lego changed the part number of one piece, so same design but different piece compared to previous AT-ATs (the clutch power might have changed - to be confirmed). I have ordered the pieces this weekend so I should be able to complete the mods by the middle of the coming week
  22. nice build back to 1993 when I was playing the game X-Wing on my computer, the B-Wing was one of my favorite ship... until i saw the Resistance Bomber I have built your Kylo Ren Command Shuttle (for which i failed to install the stick for the wings) and I love it. As usual, nice work !
