  1. No worries. I just need it on PaB anyway
  2. That would be great! But I don't see them...
  3. Perhaps I glanced over it but I don't see anyone yet mentioning part 11455 in Red, at the front corner of the Ferrari FXX K.
  4. My guess: https://rebrickable.com/parts/1994/brick-round-2-x-2-d-tube-with-rotation-joint-ball-half/
  5. What's that? Edit: First Lego League? Okay so that's an event, not any set it seems...
  6. Also coming in Tan. It might take a while before we get this technic connector in a non-botanical color... Source
  7. Very very impressive! Loving the write-up too, thanks for sharing!
  8. In the old days, this would simply be achieved by meshing gears. For example, in set 8448, one can insert the piston engine in the front or in the back. The engine assembly has a gear that meshes with a gear in the chassis. https://rebrickable.com/sets/8448-1/super-street-sensation/
  9. Awesome to see you brought it back to Bright Light Orange! I'm sure we'd all love to see more closeups of your mods, especially the transition from headlight to wheel arch.

  11. ... and some people complain TLG has too many cars in their lineup!
  12. Ah yes, I know that feeling! I recognize everything you said. I knew what I was getting into so I didn't even bother spending money on the full set. I just got the generic parts (like gear shifters and A-pillars) and then simply reused my Red inventory. I enjoyed building the gearbox; my first experience with the new shifter parts. Then I made cosmetic fixes (including front and seats) until I ran out of steam. (Modifications on Rebrickable and photos on Bricksafe.) I'm a huge supercar fan -- obviously -- but somehow I can't wait to disassemble this one again. The model just doesn't really seem to have that wow-factor. The Huayra had the "exploded" view, the Daytona SP3 had a gorgeous engine. I loved having them close and glancing at them made me happy. The real McLaren P1 is a pretty car indeed, but it just doesn't have that extra thing that makes its translation into a Lego model special... Very personal opinion of course!
  13. This one was added as a solution for panels 2395 and 2403 missing in Red. Just build the rear cover as per the original instructions. Again, these are added as part of Red solutions for panels exclusive in BLO. Just follow original instructions in these places. This is the reverse case. There are some places where a 13L liftarm fits but wasn't used. Just revert to the original solution. Same for the +O liftarm. These should be cheap from PaB. Yeah I had this one lying around. Just try incorporating the original exhaust. :)
  14. Okay people, here you go: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-202865/astyanax/extra-pimped-mclaren-p1 Up for download are my PDF instructions as well as the virtual model (LDraw). More photos of my build here: https://bricksafe.com/pages/astyanax/42172_rb Here's a closer look at my headlight solution:
  15. Yep, had it lying around. It's used in Bruno's P1 as well, it looks great, and fitted perfectly on the Lego model too. Look, my model is just a bunch of mods that I liked personally, using parts from my personal inventory. Feel free to dig around and cherry-pick what you like. In a few days I'll publish both the PDF and the virtual model (LDraw). That's just my replacement for mudguard 4427, which isn't available in Red. When building in BLO, you can build the rear cover as per the instructions of set 42172.
  16. I used the Daytona rims too. The white pins with clip I found among my daughter's Lego haha, so that's why I even considered them in the first place. But I like them, because the clip profile is very thin, so you barely notice them holding the headlight outline in place.
  17. Alright y'all, I finished my Red version, and I'm very happy with it! Headlights might look a bit "angry" now, but at least not cartoonish. Among other things, I implemented more engine details, tilted steering wheel, new rearview & side mirrors, contrasting seats, coherent splitter, front extended by 1L, ... This weekend I should be able to make & share photos (but go back one page to see 2 renders), as well as hit "publish" on the Rebrickable entry with PDF instructions. For now, all I have to share is the inventory: https://rebrickable.com/users/astyanax/lists/401835/ Big shout-out to @jb70 for the amazing groundwork! Both in terms of smooth functionally and the virtual model...
  18. Lots of studded pullback motors exist: https://rebrickable.com/parts/mechanical/
  19. Yep, I was wondering as well whether to hold off until the "better" panels were released in red. But that might take another half year before they're actually available individually. And we'd still be missing the inner mudguard sections. I'm sufficiently satisfied with the workarounds that I felt like building now. We'll see later if anyone feels like reverting modifications.
  20. I'm still building, just finished the gearbox module. But here's a sneak peek of what my Red version will look like. With a wink to my friend Bruno for the headlights and exhaust... Inventory-wise, it's more of a mod of the Ferrari Daytona SP3... I couldn't be bothered to buy the official set -- I just don't care for that light orange. I do care for glow-in-the-dark headlights! Draft building instructions are ready. But not yet verified, as I'm still building. Currently debating myself whether or not to release said draft instructions already for feedback?
  21. Awwwww that's the cutest thing anyone has ever called me But y'all keep talking of "piles"..... come join the #SortingTrayMasterRace! (Ofc all the above is tongue-in-cheek. I know these are just "lifestyle" photos. I guess the message they're trying to convey is to "do as you please", which fits the "adults welcome" slogan, which too is trying to convince people to just indulge, to carve out your own happy space/time, regardless of what others might think.)
  22. Ugh I can't stand those messy building photos!
  23. Ugh, I've always hated TLG for including unequal numbers of left and right parts in sets. Not just Technic panels but also in regular sets we often get unmatched wedge bricks and wing plates. I wish TLG would adopt a policy of matching left-right parts by adding spares.
