Can anyone here tell me how many studs wide does the Midi Scale Y-Wing look like in the uncoming 75365 Yavin 4 base? I am thinking about doing other ships in scale to that for the base. I counted around 14 studs wide, does that sound right? -
No clone troopers are included in 75333, the Republic LAAT Gunship requires no extra pieces on top of the set. Instructions are on Rebrickable. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-150294/Wurger Bricks/midi-republic-laat-gunship-alternate-build-of-75333-obi-wans-starfighter/#details The availability angled technic connectors and pin hole plates made it possible to rebuild this set into the shape of the Republic LAAT Gunship with its slanted wings and slopped back ramp. The 75333 is widely available in Australia and is often on sale. This compact gunship can seat 2 clone troopers in the cockpit, and 2 standing in the cargo bay. The main cockpit bubble canopy that allows 2 clones to sit inside the stepped cockpit formed the core of the gunship, with the rest of model extending from it. The two 1x12 white plates were perfect for the top frame of the model. The back side panels are attached onto two brackets on each side, not the strongest of connections, please hold the model along the cargo bar opening. The engine design of the Delta-7 was carried over to represent the missile launchers with a technic axle pin sticking out, not ideal but close enough in terms of looks. The angled technic connectors allowed for the slanted wings, with 4x4 modified white tiles covering up the connections inside the wings. I really enjoyed designing and building this Midi Republic Gunship from just pieces from 75333, it’s very budget friendly and hopefully provide clone army builders with a bunch of gunships! Eta-2 Actis Jedi Interceptor is the replacement for the Delta-7, I thought it's appropriate to use pieces from the 75333 Delta-7 to build the Eta-2. I used the 75281 Anakin's Jedi Interceptor as the reference to design the wings, white wedge pieces are used to represent the S-Foils. The back of the cockpit is based on the official set and the same engine pods were used. Unfortunately, no pieces are available to build the laser cannons, but the 2 lightsaber hilts are used for ion cannons on the wings. Instructions are available on rebrickable. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-149806/Wurger Bricks/eta-2-actis-interceptor-alternate-build-of-75333-obi-wans-starfighter/#details Eta-2 Actis Jedi Interceptor - Alternate Build of 75333 Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Starfighter by Richard Yao, on Flickr Eta-2 Actis Jedi Interceptor - Alternate Build of 75333 Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Starfighter by Richard Yao, on Flickr Eta-2 Actis Jedi Interceptor - Alternate Build of 75333 Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Starfighter by Richard Yao, on Flickr Eta-2 Actis Jedi Interceptor - Alternate Build of 75333 Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Starfighter by Richard Yao, on Flickr Eta-2 Actis Jedi Interceptor - Alternate Build of 75333 Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Starfighter by Richard Yao, on Flickr

Once you see the gaps between the cockpit and the wing struts, it cannot be unseen. I had to close them up, let me know how it worked out in comments please? I did 2 versions, one with 1x2 slopes on the top and bottom of cockpit sides, and the original with curved slopes. For the Fang Fighter, I just moved the locations of the laser cannons. With its sleek arrowhead shape, streamlined cockpit, and massive twin engines, the A-wing starfighter suggests raw speed even when parked within Alliance hangar bays. Faster than even the TIE interceptor, the A-wing is well suited for lightning strikes. It sports a pair of pivoting laser cannons on each wingtip. Using 2 x 75344 Boba Fett’s starship, dark red wedges create the outline of the ship and its twin engines. Double wing screen pieces used for the canopy, it can fit Boba without his jetpack, dark green round corner tiles are used for cockpit walls and stabilizers. [M4-23 - Imperial Ship] Imperial LAAT Gunship

Ah, I actually didn't know that, after googling, is it the police patrol ship? LAAT/le patrol gunship? Thank you for the feeback, I tried to keep all the good LEGO design ideas and improve upon them. -

Hi, here is my entry to the contest.
-
The Imperial Gunship is very industrial looking with sharp edges and pointy corners, a bulky angular armored ship devoid of the organic curved looks of the Republic Gunship with bubble canopies and round fuselage. Like the Republic Gunship, the crew sits in tandem, with the co-pilot/ sitting behind and above the pilot. The stepped design replaced the double bubble canopy design of the Republic era. It has three chin-mounted laser cannons at the nose of the ship, one dorsal-mounted twin-barreled laser cannon turret between the two engines. Two missile launchers are mounted in front of the engine pods, they could fire a variety of missiles. When in landing configuration, its wings would fold up like Lambda class shuttles to save space, and it has four side ramps and one back ramp for disembark access. The ship can fit a speeder bike and six minifigures inside. This model is an alternate build using only pieces from 2x75338 set. I was quite buoyed by the reception on my Tie Advanced MOC, gave me the energy to put in the time to design and build this Imperial LAAT Gunship from two 75338 Mobile Tac-Pods.The Imperial Gunship is very industrial looking with sharp edges and pointy corners, a bulky angular armored ship devoid of the organic curved looks of the Republic Gunship with bubble canopies and round fuselage.LAAT_2 by Richard Yao, on FlickrLike the Republic Gunship, the crew sits in tandem, with the co-pilot/ sitting behind and above the pilot. IMG_3790 by Richard Yao, on FlickrLAAT_4 by Richard Yao, on FlickrThe design of the Tac-Pod’s angular ship is marvelous from LEGO, so I was standing on the shoulder of giants when I was doing this alternate build. The spacing on technic arms and space needed to put in pins created a bit of problems for me initially, had to pull apart and rebuild a few times. The length of the ship is decided by combining a pair of 1x14 technic bricks and a pair 1x10 technic bricks as the spine of the ship, this allows for another pair of those two bricks to form the dorsal of the ship. I moved the technic columns as forward as possible to have space to fit a speeder bike inside. The outrigger of the speeder is wider than normal as they need to fit around the two technic columns. IMG_3791 by Richard Yao, on Flickr Wedge plates are used to has as little gaps between the canopy and fuselage, the wings enlarged to 8-studs wide at the roots to 5-studs wide at the tip, when the wings folded up, I reminds me of the Phantom II used by the Ghost crew in Rebels animated series. The single long barreled laser cannon was replaced by my twin-barreled version, I used a shorter barrel to balance out the design. I had to use claws and bars to create the chin-mounted laser cannon look, they do have good field of movement but the connections aren’t not the strongest. After finishing building the model, I had to swap out a few light bluish grey plates for bright light orange ones to break up the bulky monotonous grey sidewalls. thank you, will play around with different turrent designs to see how it fits with over hull. Definitely need larger and longer wings, as the ship is taller and longer; wings have been designed, at the bottom of the pics.
