  1. Police comes every single year. Fire comes three years apart actually. Yeah....but other than those, we don't see other exciting jobs. Hopefully in 2020, we'll see some more. Except sky police. That was a step in the wrong direction. It was basically something we see in every police theme; helicopters and planes. Maybe except for the drone chase, that subtheme wasn't needed. My nephews agree there and they're only 6 and 9. City seems to be doing a new thing this year with its system. The recent sets seem to be targeted towards an older audience now, looking at the space and fire waves. City is just one of those that caters to older audiences more than younger audiences. The average young audiences being no younger than...what....10? I have a marketing degree and study things like this. Children in their single digits are likely to play with Duplo or Creator 3in1s - or do small MOCs than something more challenging like City, Star Wars or Creator Expert.
  2. I recommended that once. People argue that it would cost too much. Not if you make it a spin off theme though. Like LEGO City Explorers or LEGO City Police. A garbage subtheme would definately surprise me. Another one I would want to see is a subtheme centered around the bus system because I really love the buses that City releases and buses are also popular among children. I also want to see a subtheme centered around pizza delivery. My theory is that the reason they do certain things is because they're just easier to advertise without showing someone in the Lego universe getting hurt along with the fact that they are popular enough. But considering that TLG has just recently done a bait and switch on City by making sets 7+ and that City's goal is to teach children about the different jobs one can have, shouldn't the target audience be old enough to know that in a real work environment, injury is possible!!!! Heck! You're more likely to get hurt on the job then to make it back unscathed.
  3. That looks like these. https://www.google.com/search?q=red+express+coaches&tbm=isch&prmd=insv&hl=en&ved=2ahUKEwips5DYw-nkAhWGl-AKHeSGAzIQrNwCegUIARChAQ&biw=360&bih=560#imgrc=d8Zgap
  4. Yeah! It seems like Lego almost exclusively pushes out police, explosives/discovery and great vehicles these days. Along with the occasional side side sets and fire sets. Its not that I don't care about children. But there are other jobs that children love and children do get bored of seeing the same thing every year. It doesn't really matter whether the police is in a new environment. Its still the same storyline. Catch the cook off stealing the gold and kick him or her up. We just remembered when City surprised us like from 2006 to 2010. They were still doing well. With the police, great vehicles and explorers system every year, you kinda expect things. Where is the fun in that? Now a modular police station, I won't disapprove of because that's something we've never seen before.
  5. I honestly think the Town division of Lego spends too much time with police stations. Better yet, police sets. From what I've seen on here though, people on Eurobricks seem to love the sets so much that I am known for starting arguments on this forum over there being too many. Take note: Eurobricks is the only forum where I can't critique City without being looked at as a criminal. No pun intended.
  6. This would be the time when Lego should take advantage of that.
  7. Opportunity for some re-releases anyone?
  8. Look on the brightside. It'll be an amazing opportunity to sell more buildings. I hope they make that pizza place that I saw in the background in a clip. @Lyichir I KNEW IT!!!!! The houses from Creator are cannon to City. LOOK!!!!
  9. Fyi, I said I had once recommended it. Not that I do recommend. That doesn't always mean I'm still holding on to that. But I do hold on to them shifting 3in1 buildings to City. Like this one. Considering that recent City sets have become 7+ sets, I see fit for a merger. They'll probably have to add a robbery scene or something to it, if they were to release a grocery store under City though.
  10. I see you're a fan of the spin off sets. That's what I call the special police and explorers sets. Though I think leisure activities are reserved for Friends. As for that public transport set, that vehicle pack was amazing. I actually saw hope in thinking that it would start a trend of vehicle packs for City. It's a shame I didnt get it when it was out. But what is your view on the pizza, mail, news, paramedics and Outback theme ideas?
  11. Yeah! Then we'll have the chance of seeing vehicles that we've never seen before. I don't think they're likely to do that for City.
  12. That was a vehicle pack. Ptine example. I wanna see more of those. I'd also like to see another bus 3 pack someday soon with a transit bus, school bus and a two story bus. I'd definitely pick that one up.
  13. I wanna see 4 stud wide civilian automobiles in all colors of the rainbow. That would really appeal to me. Blue. Green. Yellow. Orange. Red. Purple. I also have some other ideas for vehicle packs including a power crew vehicle pack and a hazard squad vehicle pack. The latter of which I'm still questioning on why the recent fire wave lacked such a set.
  14. One I would've wanted to see was a civilian vehicle pack. No rescue vehicles, public service vehicles are big equipment. Just plain civilian automobiles. That's one I'd definitely buy. Make'em four studs wide because I don't really care for the six stud wide cars.
  15. Yeah. But sets with more than two vehicles are mostly seen in either buildings or mega sets and those aren't even that big. I mean vehicle packs with 4 or 5 four or six stud wide vehicles. Unless we're speaking of something like a motorcycle or ATV gang Pack. Great vehicles are good and all, but they don't really interest me like they used to. Every year, it seems like only one or two are interesting. The other ones, are pretty much the same thing every year such as an aircraft, a boat, a buggy, some type of industrial vehicle or some type of hauler. You pretty much expect those every year to where it becomes boring after a while. I love it when City surprises me. Like that pizza van from 2017 or that heavy duty tow truck from 2014. That grand prix truck from 2013 was awesome as I never thought City would revert back to race cars. To me, it seems like a great idea. That garage set from 2012 had a building. I'm talking about just vehicles, a sign or something. No buildings. More than three at a time. A formula 1 race car vehicle pack for example. The cars could be in different colors. Like the ones from the early 90s.
  16. I think it would be a great idea. For those of you out there who may be confused, vehicle packs would basically be like people packs. Only with vehicles. We know that certain sets help keep City relevant not necessarily because of the buildings themselves, but because of the vehicles that complement the building. Even though some people may think the idea is stupid and pointless, I think it would be fun and interesting. It's fun to take things that child Legonfans love and exploit it to it's full advantage. So without further ado. Do you think vehicle packs are good for Lego City? Sound off in the comments.
  17. Oh yes. In addition to my statement about City going along with the times. While Lego was going through a hard time back then, Town didn't suffer surprisingly. This was because town sets are just that Lego theme that adjusts according to the times. The reason they had a bigger variety of buildings was because that was during the time when children and innocence went hand and hand. They could play pretend in a positive way while learning about everyday life in a town like post offices, bus stations, hospitals and even small restaurants. They had one police station and that was all they needed to survive back then. Today, we live in a society where children unfortunately cannot play pretend unless there is conflict or danger. Thus why police, rescue and explorers sets basically run the City theme. I am less cavalier. Though I don't agree with the system TLG uses for the City theme (ahem police ahem), you can't deny that the City theme makes its living off of sets centered practically around danger and conflict. I personally think there could be better ways to make a profit. I guess the reason why people defend the system on Eurobricks is because the way they're doing it now is probably the only safe way to do it. I hope that clears things up.
  18. Another bus I have yet to see that I always wanted to see was a Police Bus. That would be two popular subjects in one. Why? Because two of the top 5 things that sell well amongst City fans are police cars and buses. I keep writing TLG and telling them that they need to do a prison bus. Considering that all Winter 2020 sets haven't be revealed yet, I wonder if that's one of the classic police sets for next year.
  19. Truthfully speaking, little things like a school bus great vehicle, don't really need action. Lego has made City sets that haven't had action. If they did have action, they would've had mini movies dedicated to them. ....and as for the arctic. Its not just action. But children also love to make discoveries too. Exactly. Only they'll have to make it 6 stud wide. That's 8 stud wide.
  20. Great.. more police sets. Next it'll be Area 51 police.
  21. News and Pizza are my two subthemes that can tie into anything City related themes tbh. TV 6+ is City's news company btw.
