  1. I love the mini heads as rear lights! Great build, good luck building it in real bricks!
  2. I suppose, but it kind of seems wrong to me. Besides, I enjoy the challenge of trying to get things to fit how they are. Either way, they are definitely versatile parts, as demonstrated in this wonderful MOC!
  3. I’m too much of a purist for that! Nevertheless I will be ordering a whole load of hoses in my next order
  4. There are quite a few licenses that both LEGO and MB have done, sometimes with MB doing them first - Pirates of the Caribbean, SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Cars, Marvel / Spider-Man, and perhaps others I’m overlooking. If we expand it beyond just a Mega Bloks to all competing makers of construction toys, there are even more licenses that LEGO has done for which they’re not the only company that has. Heck, even LEGO mainstay Star Wars has had construction toys from other companies before (though more of the nuts-and-bolts steel girder Meccano / Erector style than interlocking plastic bricks). If it were a requirement for a LEGO license that no competing toymaker had previously held the construction toy license for that property, there’d be a lot fewer LEGO licenses. Ah, I was not aware of all of these. Most of them don’t interest me and I didn’t get back into LEGO until fairly recently, so I don’t know too much about them. It is interesting to see, though, how many companies have made deals with mega bloks and then changed to TLG. I wonder what made them choose megabloks first?
  5. I suspect that they’ll use normal legs with a custom torso/ head piece. Seems a very TLG thing to do (so basically just Spongebob again.) But I hope I’m wrong... Does anyone have any idea when the sets will be revealed?
  6. I don’t really see what people have against minions, but with any license, there will always be people who like it and people who don’t. TLG will have done their market research and found financial reasons for the theme. Still, I do agree that it’s just another one of those ‘middle themes’ like Toy Story which probably does alright but is by no means a bestseller.
  7. I will have to buy a set just for the minions. Then we need a Lego Minion emoji here on Eurobricks! I am a little surprised though, considering that Mega Bloks previously held the license...
  8. Surely though, unless @Frostbricks decides to resubmit his project, can’t he now sell his instructions since it’s no longer a potential set? This was a great idea and I was really looking forward to building them, so I’d love to get hold of the instructions if @Frostbricks does decide to release them...
  9. No problem! Good luck with your build!
  10. Nice job! I'd really like a minifig scale ship and this would be ideal - supported on LEGO Ideas
  11. As @SylvainLS said, there are essentially two different types of 2x2 window combinations: The key difference between them is that some have one hole at the bottom of the frame and some have two. You just need to take a look at the bottom of the glass if your ever not sure: Or you can just use @SylvainLS' guide and type the element IDs into the search box. I hope that helps - good luck with what you're building!
  12. Another brilliant series, @Robert8! My personal favourite is definitely the ‘Shower-Time Guy’
  13. Thank you! I'm thinking of using them for the roof, but they might have to wait for another build (I still can't decide, plus, I'm still designing the lower floors.) Thanks again for your suggestion
  14. Nice design @Bob De Quatre I love the colour scheme and the detail of the cheese slopes on the wings!
  15. Thanks for the inspiration, @tafkatb Unfortunately I couldn't get it to look quite right, but I will be including hanging baskets elsewhere in the build! Thanks for your opinion @Bludchylde - I came up with a solution that is very similar to how it was, just a bit smoother, so thanks for the inspiration. In terms of a gargoyle, I didn't want the put another minifig on as there's already one just below - but I've already had a good idea as to how I could fit it somewhere else in the MOC... Below is the solution that I eventually settled with by the way Thanks again for all your advice!
  16. So simple yet so effective Hoses are so versatile but I have so few in my collection that I rarely get to use them to their full potential. Time to order some from BL!!
  17. Thanks for your suggestions @Peppermint_M! I've tried a shield and it didn't quite fit aesthetically, there's a statue on the lower floor. I'll try a 'historic sign' of some sort when I get a chance, but I'm not sure it would quite work with the aesthetics of the building. Do you think it would look OK without anything (just what's shown above) ? Thanks again for your suggestions
  18. Nice MOC - the trees are great! I don't know how you've built that roof on the tower, but I LOVE it!
  19. Hi everyone, I’ve recently been building a modular building MOC on LDD and have been left with an awkward corner to fill. I’ve come up with a solution which I am very pleased with, but it requires one stud to be exposed on the outside. I’ve been thinking over what to put on this corner for a couple of days now. BB has the clock and FB and GE both feature flags, but what else can I put there? A shop sign wouldn’t really work and I don’t want to repeat the flag or clock from the official sets. Does anyone have any suggestions? I’ve also attached an image below of the corner I’m working with: Many thanks, TheL390Man

    Hot Dogs!

Nice SNOT techniques That sausage is a little thin though... As do I!
  21. Great MOC! If this was an official set, I'd buy it straight away (if my wallet let me, that is! ). I can't decide whether my favourite bit is the building above the pharmacy or the giant chocolate bar sign!!! Can't wait for your next one!
  22. I love it! I particularly like the combination of angled roof and the curved sections. Some great subtle details, too - I like the ladder pieces up the right hand side of the tan building.
  23. What a surprise! Are banks ever fun? (Except Brick Bank) They could make ‘No Fun at the Bank’
  24. I mean, that’s a pretty random thought to have... In all seriousness, it actually is a really good build, I especially love the penguin waiter
  25. I guess I missed this the first time, but what a great city, I’m jealous! I particularly love the foliage by the tracks, it adds a lot of character.
