Wrebbit-3D actually did something like this. They released a small 3D puzzle a few years back that included tiny versions of most of the shops (but missing the bank). Then last year they released 3 puzzles in a Diagon Alley series each with two shops - Madam Malkin’s and Florean Fortescue’s, Ollivander’s and Scribbulus, and Quality Quidditch Supplies and Slug & Jiggers Apothecary. I’d definitely be interested if they continued the line so it’s a sound strategy for Lego to copy(especially if they give us a stocked Eylops). The big difference is the price (Lego sets are going to be a price point or two more than a foam 3D puzzle) and the minifigure lineups, which could get tricky after awhile if Lego doesn’t want to start using background extras. I still have my Burrow set from back then and really, Bellatrix was the best designed minifigure of that wave. The designers did an amazing job with her hairpiece, so while I’m not really a fan of villains, she’s the one Death Eater I’m excited to see the redesign for.

I didn’t mean a literal repeat of the Clocktower, but a repeat of the idea of using a section of castle facade iconic to one movie and filling it with a scene from another. And given how tall and thin the Astronomy Tower is I could definitely see Lego doing the ground floor wider and deeper than the rest to add stability. On the matter of Diagon Alley - I think Gringott’s Bank, Weasley’s Wizarding Wheezes and Borgin and Burke’s have the best chance of being made into separate sets, with the rest of the Alley more likely to come as a D2C. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, even if Bricktober is back there’s no word on if there’d be a Harry Potter pack this year.

I definitely don’t see Lego going back to fill in the gaps yet, and I wouldn’t want them to either. I’d much rather they move forward and finally do proper waves of OotP, HBP and Deathly Hallows. To me getting characters and sets that were skipped over entirely the first time around is more important than getting updated versions of old sets. I also think it’s worth noting that we’re almost certainly getting more than just the four sets, it’s happened the last two years after all. I think the Infiri Cave, Grawp, Grimmauld Place and the Astronomy Tower are all good guesses - although I personally suspect we’ve got a good chance of seeing a repeat of the Clocktower and getting the Room of Requirement in the Astronomy Tower. I’d also bump the Grawp set up a price point (unless Lego does us dirty and doesn’t take the opportunity to give us centaurs). I’d also suggest the possibility of Borgin and Burke’s, since it would be a nice medium set they could fill with Death Eaters, and set wise a good analogue for this year’s Beauxbatons Carriage.

That’s stretching it a ways too far I think. Baby Groot is a lot mor chunky and humanoid than a bowtruckle, plus Picket has rather big leaves on his head. It just wouldn’t work and I doubt the legalities of licensing issues would allow them to anyway.

Yeah, Hogwarts Mystery would probably go over better as a console game with more varied gameplay and without the microtransactions. The story and characters are pretty compelling in themselves after all. I still think Charlie has a shot at sneaking into a CMF, since it would be hard to consider a spot used for a Weasley as wasted, and most fans will recognize who he is without having played the game. All the characters introduced exclusively in game I don’t hold out much hope for.
-
There are some characters that I think you could purist MOC pretty easily - like Ben Copper and Jae Kim. And there are some characters that I’d love to see made, like Penny Haywood or Badea Ali, just because the new hair molds would be fun. Realistically, the character with the best chance of making it to a polybag or even a cmf would be Charlie, since his appearance in the game is the closest thing he has to ‘canon’ as he was cut from the movies. And people who’ve only watched the movies/read the books wouldn’t care much about the game exclusive characters, but any chance to have a full Weasley siblings line up would be cause for excitement, even if they aren’t familiar with the game his appearance comes from.

Theoretically, you’ve got her Yule Ball dress, but fingers crossed that Lego saves that for a future advent calendar. I also wouldn’t put it past Lego to do her in Quidditch gear, like they did with Malfoy in series 1.

Yeah, the mountain bike in series 19 is much smaller than a horse. I could see Lego doing centaur legs (since they’d have to be considerably smaller than the regular horse’s to scale with a minifigure torso) but if you hold up a horse to the current packaging you can see that it would be too tight a squeeze.
-
That would be amazing, but as it stands right now we don’t know enough characters’ patronuses from the books to fill up a 22 minifigure series, and most of those are cut out of the movies entirely, making it unlikely Lego will do them (and I’m still salty about the giant energy pulses and the amorphous blob they turned Kingsley’s lynx into). Take out the characters who wouldn’t have a unique outfit to go with it (Snape) and those with animals that simply wouldn’t fit in the bags (Harry, Ginny and Lily) and you’ve lost some more. Theoretically, you could make up the numbers with Fantastic Beasts characters, but since JKR has stated that revealing Newt’s patronus would be a spoiler, Lego won’t have the material to work with for years. It’s much more likely that we’ll get Hermione’s, Ron’s, Luna’s and maybe Ginny’s patronuses in a DA set. That being said, Umbridge’s courtroom outfit is begging to be made in a cmf (that ridiculous knitted cat scarf) but that’s another scene that could be made into a set.

Just saw the sticker book cover on Instagram. Really hope that otter becomes a real piece. (the Expecto Patronum set has spoiled me, I need all the patronuses now)

I love all of these newly revealed alternate faces. I was planning on skipping the mummy because her face was a little too goofy looking for my tastes, but the reverse side is making me reconsider. The mountain biker’s glasses are pretty cool too. It’s also great how the fox suit girl and dog park attendant have really uncommon expressions for their reverse sides - I don’t know when I might need someone with an ‘I just smelled dog doo’ face, but it will be fun to have.

This really excites me. I’ve wanted the carriage to be realized as a set since I was a little kid, and it’s great to know it’s well executed - especially since it’s the first set of the theme reboot not to feature Harry in it. Hopefully it, the Clocktower and the Patronus set sell well to let Lego know we really like them doing new scenes and characters.

You’re probably seeing a lot of marketing for Marvel and Star Wars in certain stores because of Endgame and Rise of Skywalker, but that doesn’t mean Harry Potter has been horribly affected. Barnes and Noble, for instance, has a very extensive Harry Potter section that appears to be pretty permanent now, with the new sets currently front and center (in contrast, the Star Wars section that cropped up before dying out after episode VIII came out has yet to reappear). New merchandise is being released all the time regardless of if a movie is coming out, Wizards Unite just came out, Hogwarts Mystery is still going strong after over a year with weekly updates, and the illustrated edition of Goblet of Fire is just the most notable new publication to be slated for this fall. Lego might not have officially confirmed more waves yet, but I’m pretty sure Harry Potter as a theme is safe (plus there were four set numbers for the theme leaked with a bunch of other 2020 info a few weeks back).

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

That may be your personal primary reason for being interested in the CMFs. But from a commercial standpoint it’s much better for Lego if they get new molds that they can reuse over and over again out of it. That’s why most non licensed CMFs have a decent number of modern characters in them, despite the fact they could be ‘shoehorned’ into a City set, and one of the reasons they consider licensed series a good investment. There are plenty of ‘normal’ hairstyles and accessories that have become commonplace in sets after being introduced in a CMF, it’s likely one of the reasons the theme gets such a nice budget for new molds. -
- Sadly I don’t think we have much of a chance of getting a worm mold out of the Harry Potter theme, since the scenes with them were cut from the movies. - So far we’ve gotten Picket printed on Newt’s torso and represented as a ‘leek’ piece. I think bowtruckles are just too small and spindly for anything else. - I definitely wouldn’t mind the Zouwu or Kelpie from CoG making it into sets. And if the kelpie came as part of a Newt’s House set I’d be ecstatic. Grindylows seem like a decent chance too if they ever go back to the second task of GoF. - The Phoenix mold back in 2002 was amazing, I’m really hoping for an updated version. - I’ve been crossing my fingers for a DA scene with more patronuses ever since Harry’s stag leaked. And considering that the molds for Ron’s Terrier, Luna’s Hare and Ginny’s Horse all exist already, the only new mold they’d need to make is Hermione’s Otter. And the ‘Patronus lesson’ in the OotP movie is also when Umbridge breaks into the Room of Requirement so it’s a perfect choice for a set. :) I’d also like to put in a word for centaurs, which I think we have a good chance of getting next year, and I know even people outside of Harry Potter fans have been wanting Lego to do for awhile.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Accio Lego replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It’s not pointless, it gives them the extra budget to create those new molds, and as a result gives the main theme more characters to use in sets that they might not have ever included otherwise (the superhero theme doesn’t have unlimited budget after all). That’s something that Lego has been using the CMFs for for ages. Lego isn’t going to stop doing it just because you think the cmf minifigure with extra printing and dual molded arms that came with a unique accessory is suddenly ‘pointless’ because Lego used their new hair/mask piece to include a simpler version of the same character in a $60 play set a year or two later. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

Oh yes, Lego is so good at utilizing the rich collection of DC characters that the only solitary set in the DC section that doesn’t have Batman taking up one of the character slots is the Aquaman movie set. And the only heroes available in sets right now that aren’t part of the core justice league line up or the bat-family are Shazam and Mera (from the previously mentioned Aquaman set). I’m not a die hard DC fan, but even I think it’s a little ridiculous that it took the Lego Batman Movie to get several new heroes and villains that theoretically according to you could have been ‘shoehorned’ into any old DC set years ago. Give us Teen Titans and Young Justice and Arrowverse. Take the opportunity to give us characters from the JSA, Outsiders and Birds of Prey. Take advantage of the mold budget to give us lanterns, Kid Flash’s cowl hair combo, Doctor Fate’s helmet and all those other unique parts that belong to characters that you don’t want to budget into standard play sets. Basically, I see how they could make it interesting. -
Who knows maybe next CMF will have him with that skull hookah he uses for divination
