  1. Yes, but there are so many other characters that there are more people demanding. And given how there’s been two 8 year gaps between each of her appearances... I don’t think we’re likely to see her again unless the theme goes on long enough to warrant another Quidditch set.
  2. Agreed. Besides, locations like the Burrow, Privet Drive and Gringott’s could easily be done as Deathly Hallows sets. (And frankly, getting a complete Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade that isn’t D2C scale isn’t going to happen).
  3. Yes. A version of her without her hat and black robes would be perfect. That’s what she wears in the battle of Hogwarts after all.
  4. I’ve compiled my own set of lists, one of which includes every named character in the movies, but pasting that here would make for an obnoxiously long post. It also depends on whether you’re talking about characters we haven’t gotten yet in the reboot, or characters we haven’t gotten yet overall.
  5. It’s not really all that different from any other movie trailer, you don’t want to give away the meaty parts of the movie, but you’ve got to at least hint at what’s going to happen. The issues come when a merchandise manufacturer oversells the teasers they’re given in the trailer but then don’t follow up with a wave of the spoilery fan favorite stuff after The movie gets released (Funko has done that quite a bit). We can only hope Lego will do what the did with the first movie and go back and give us at least one set featuring the real stars of CoG.
  6. There’s a specific process that product ideas have to go through to get approved and made into sets. Getting 10000 supporters is part of it, but each set also goes in front of a review board that gets the final say on if it becomes an official set or not. Most of the sets that go up for review ultimately get turned down for various reasons (Lego doesn’t give specific reasons for each set but they have published general lists of examples in the past. Ranging from ‘our production lines couldn’t handle it’ to ‘too unstable or unsafe’ to ‘third party wouldn’t license their IP’ among others). The ideas project you’ve specifically linked wouldn’t be allowed these days because Lego has since made a rule against proposals based on preexisting Lego licenses. Whether or not Lego pays attention to popular ideas subjects when planning new sets is anyone’s guess. (But it’s been theorized that ‘we already had a similar set in the pipeline’ has been the reason a couple of good submissions have gone unapproved)
  7. Part of me wants to point out why the Grindelwald move happened, but ultimately this isn’t really the forum to discuss it in. And in the end, Lego made that their CoG set because that was probably the only scene where they had enough info so the final product would be screen accurate. Same way the chupacabra and baby nifflers featured in a bunch of Funko merch despite only appearing in minor scenes while the Zouwu only got made as a con exclusive. And while it’s fun to speculate on what we might get next year, we really are flying in completely blind as to what Lego will prioritize. All the other Harry Potter sets were based off of movies that got full waves when they came out - meaning they were mostly remakes with just a couple of new concepts. For movies 5-8 it’s the exact opposite. I’m actually excited to see what Lego will do.
  8. That might be more hinged on the fact that JKR is writing the scripts. In the books you’d hear or see a character mentioned offhandedly in one book who turned out to be extremely important a book or three later - the screenwriters for the Harry Potter movies didn’t seem interested in keeping this up, just letting important characters pop up once they actually had lines. We’ll see if JKR’s style will work out in the Fantastic Beasts movies.
  9. I could also see them doing the front of the LeStrange crypt with the Zouwu as well, she travels around quite a bit. Newt’s basement and the Grindelwald rally are the other big options for sets. Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing if they’ll do anymore Fantastic Beasts sets, since the last two weren’t exactly the bestsellers that their Harry Potter counterparts were.
  10. Don’t forget Nagini and Skender - they had some really fun character designs and it’s been implied they’ll have future significance. (I also wouldn’t mind an updated Tina with her new look).
  11. It bears remembering that the fox/wolf tail is thicker and hangs closer to the body than the tail that Monkey King uses - which is also the same one used in TLM2 series. It’s possible that the long skinny monkey/cat tail is just considered more fragile or made in a different factory.
  12. I think any randomness with TLM2 was because it was the first series with the new packaging. There wasn’t any reports of random inner bags with Disney series 2.
  13. The most obvious opportunity is if they ever remake the Troll Attack set, since that’s really the only time in the movies when we really get to see the Hogwarts Halloween decorations. It would make for a great little twentieth anniversary set in 2021.
  14. Hasn’t it usually been the ones with fabric pieces? That means probably Shower Guy and Monkey King.
  15. Meh, the fireplace is a holiday classic that gets redone in the City calendars pretty frequently. I’m not surprised they reached for it when they had to put a calendar together quickly. And plenty of options for micro builds just means that you’ve got plenty of opportunities for future advent calendars.
  16. I assume that the inner bags somehow allow them to speed up/ streamline the packaging process - perhaps the extra waste is offset somewhere else in manufacturing? It would be nice if Lego could explain the decision.
  17. True, it’s a different license than what they’d need for physical sets, but it at least shows there’s some sort of line of communication open.
  18. Speaking as a very casual fan who really only got into DC because of Young Justice (which then prompted me to go and watch all the old Justice League animated series), I’m probably only going to pick some up if they have Young Justice characters. Artemis and Aqualad in particular are personal favorites. And Lego definitely has some sort of license for those versions of the characters (and the cw ones) because they’ve appeared in the Supervillains game.
  19. It was a digitally edited ‘watermark’ that one of the original leakers put on their image. There are other leaks of the sheet with the real 16/16/16 numbers.
  20. Oh yes. But would the kilt and ferret sporran be printed on or a fabric piece?
  21. Two very true points
  22. ... and cats, and dogs, and some convenient new patronus moulds too Yes, none us will buy any new Harry Potter sets unless they make Hermione’ otter patronus
  23. So Lego put the pictures of series 19 up on their social media today and after 8 hours I thought it would be interesting to see how many likes each of them had on Facebook (since fb allows you to like the individual pictures in the post separately). The following are from most liked to least liked based on when I checked (note: this is nowhere near the order they showed up in on the post) Dog Sitter - 296 Jungle Explorer - 233 Pizza Guy - 220 Fox Suit Girl - 193 Gardener - 192 Video Game Champ - 182 Shower Guy - 172 Galactic Bounty Hunter - 167 Programmer - 156 Monkey King -154 Bear Suit Guy - 153 Fright Knight - 151 Rugby Player - 110 Mummy Queen - 106 Mountain Biker - 105 Firefighter - 77 i don’t think anyone will be surprised that the Firefighter is in dead last, and the fact that the animal molds occupy 4 out of the 5 top spots isn’t shocking either. But I personally didn’t expect the Programmer, Monkey King, Fright Knight, and Bear Suit Guy to basically be neck and neck (I’m guessing they all have very different fan bases).
  24. I highly doubt they’d do separated buildings again, given their new dedication to screen accuracy and the fact that they’ve demonstrated that they know that most of the shops share walls with the micro scale gwp.
  25. I’d be down for a Lady Adventurer - would make for a sweet new hat+hair combo piece
