LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
So is almost every pilot we've ever gotten They'll get me on this. I'm cloned out but the second the imperial units kick up I'll be right back into the mix. Sure, but on the list of little extra things I'd like to see in sets (I dunno, like major characters coming with hair and helmets (if applicable), more figures in general, etc), "clones having unique faces" is like the very bottom, which I think a lot of people would agree with. -
DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

He wasn't associated with R-rated stuff at the time, all the Creature Commandos will probably be less likely to show up in sets now. -
After the second one, good. I'm not gonna lie I kinda thought you were already the leader of blacktron. You make a good example of being crazy at the end there, this guy believes in dinosaurs? The things created by the Dino Nuggies industry to sell more Dino Nuggies? Brother I was under Konshu's influence I swear, I don't even have the key to that locked box in my cabinet that rattles like lego, do not wick me. Somewhere in the UK there's a classic spaceman in a strait jacket, rocking against the walls going "PART OF THE SHIP, PART OF THE CREW. PART OF THE SHIP, PART OF THE CREW" Big shot Dumbledore putting together a skeleton crew.

Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I think the konshu thing might actually have started before you joined the forum, in the dc thread (of course). IIRC there was some joke made that the lack of an official Mara is because I've been stealing all the Maras from the factory, and I did a whole moon knight bit off it (given the username and all) where I pretending I was blacking out and waking up in denmark or something. Thanks- I like to write as well, but rarely have the energy to put the effort into my posts here that you do. They'd call my bluff and just release the set without bucky. I don't think anyone was arguing with the "licensed themes have licenses taking out a chunk of the budget" point but moreso that Lyichir came in extremely aggressively and just started insulting the thread out of nowhere. I made kind of a daredevil version of your Assembly Square style idea a few years back- it was Fogwell's on the bottom, Nelson and Murdock in the middle, and Matt's apartment up top. Looked like this: I kind of want to revisit it- I've gotten better in the past few years, and the exterior walls, while accurate to Hell's Kitchen, are pretty plain- there are ways to make the building still be realistically NY without being a grimy tan block. -
I agree Best season. I don't care if they made Jay into sick twisted Evil Jay who thinks Little Ceasers Crazy Bread is Normal Bread. The Roman Empire was awesome. Wish I could be part of it again. Specifically the version from the game who walks super, super slowly and flies around with some sort of melee lightning gun. Battle for the shell. Round two. Fight. UCS Fabulous Jimmy Olsen when?

DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

You're on to something. This'll be confirmed when the 2025 D2C is revealed to actually be Lex's Bakery. Yup. I have no hope. Ironically Jarro is the only one I think we have a real shot at since he'd just be a print on a 1x1 cylinder and could easily be thrown in to the aslume set as an easter egg. -

What was your goal here? What was the thought process behind going on the superhero thread and almost immediately insulting the thread's users? Dreamzz had a good chunk of sets on black Friday discount and pretty frequently hit clearance at just about every show they've gone to. I think they've got some good stuff, but a lot of clunkers too, and the sales seem to back this up. I will give you credit- it is true that themes like Dreamzz have a higher budget for molds due to their unlicensed status. But you took someone's semi-joking comment that's main gist was "lego is getting too expensive and dropping in quality" and decided to attack the entire thread? I feel like a good 50% of your comments are just phrasing what I wanted to say significantly better than I could have. I have come to the conclusion that you are Khonshu, and therefore the one making me psychically steal all the Mara Jade figures from lego's factories when I black out. But seriously, very well said to pretty much all of these. My biggest think is the lack of arm printing on the character known for his special arm. That's just crazy. -

Yeah, exactly. I swear whenever lego makes a clone figure people decide legos should be Hot Toys figures. I'm cloned out. There have been so many clone battle packs. I'm happy for those who want more commanders, but I'm out. -
I assume @Murdoch17 was joking, because yeah, I think it's inarguable that those are christmas movies. They're set during christmas, prominently feature christmas in the plotline, and have themes and messages revolving around christmas. We just have to wait for a third account named "splinter alfred" or something to show up. Have faith. Like in-universe, obviously not, because the nazis don't exist in SW. But out of universe, they absolutely were.

Ladies and gentlemen... we got em. You know, if lego changed how they did "venomization" to limited-release marvel sets done up in black with some tendrils added on and venomized figs, I think the constant venomized inudation wouldn't be as bad. They've already done it a few times, just with weird set choices (venom crawler, venomized baby groot) -

JJJ stays winning. I think this really does bode well for Oscorp soon- sure, it'll be longer before the bugle retires, but it's clearly doing exceptionally well. -

As a kid I liked them in universe- I used to imagine that the technic grey pin was the delivery system and the transparent cone was the explosive- but they worked the worst out of all the LSW shooters. The technic cannon I was a big fan of- anytime a ship is known for having a large cannon/packing a real punch, if a technic cannon can fit inside it, it should be used. It's by far the strongest missile they've had. I also wasn't fully opposed to the six-stud shooters, they just overused them waaay to much when they first came out for a part that had to be integrated into the build a lot more than other ones. (Also, you're never getting that ammo back and they look bad without them... maybe I am fully opposed to the six stud shooters) I do like play features in the ships- they don't have to be all that complex either, I was a big fan of the 2015 Naboo starfighter being able to be refueled. -
That is a hot take - I suppose on some level it's good that the US weren't the only ones with nukes, but the soviets, aside from just being generally one of the worst regimes in history, brought us so close to the end that there were literally moments where a single Russian sub officer voting no was all that prevented nuclear war. The first two home alones are cinematic masterpieces, proceeded by an unknown number of terrible reboots. I'm sure it was, but I don't know that we would actually have just turned around and nuked the soviets if they went "no we actually want all of germany not just half". I doubt we get a Supergirl Mech in 2026 after a Superman mech in 2025, but it would be spectacularly on brand for lego DC to have those be the only non-batman sets. Yeah but I heard since it was a corpse they didn't have to charge Mr. Eternal's estate. We gonna talk about adding multiple cat women to the outsiders? Can't believe Turtle was right all along and Splinter was working with Batman. I'm sure we'd get some sort of tie in for any batman movie not rated R, but I think everything else depends a lot on the Superman movie. I wouldn't be surprised if even if that did well, lego still held off for another movie or two to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It's also darkest before it continues being equally dark.

Honestly at this point, I'd either like a new set of astromech molds at a more accurate size, or for lego to stop pretending they cost as much to produce as a minifigure. Its four basic parts, only two of which are printed. I don't necessarily agree with your wider point on the theme or the way you're phrasing it, but I agree that I'd like to see more bomb chutes and other more unique attacking play features in lego sets. The stud shooters and spring shooters are great add-ons to increase playability on a model to small to integrate other play features or lacking those features in canon, but every non-microfighter Y-wing should have some form of bomb drop feature, for example. -
I feel like while it doesn't have the appeal with kids to be a standard theme, lego at the very least needs to snatch it up to do an Icons enterprise at some point. I think midi-scale ships and dioramas of the bridge for each ship would also do very well. On that topic, I'd like a midi-scale Orville. I would love it if lego managed to snag the DC license. It's so weird that they're only legally allowed to use like 4 batman characters otherwise Gunn, Zack Snyder, and Scott Snyder show up and beat the designers with a crowbar. I am once again asking for lego Void Rivals. While it takes place in the universe of the transformers, it has proven itself as it's own entity able to thrive without them, and is the best new worldbuilding I've seen in years. Only other thing I think I'm missing out of my dream sets would be Eragon (book based, there is no movie). I guess turning Dune into a full theme would be nice.

You're close- I think he's using it to buy whey. my evidence is the other set with Red Hulk where he's absolute batman sized. Captain America 4 is hilarious to me because at this point the movie could be pretty good and do fairly well at the box office for a post-endgame marvel movie and then still lose a ton of money just because depending on your source it's either closing in on OR SURPASSED the budget of Infinity war and Endgame COMBINED. For a SOLO FILM. And not even a "solo film" like No Way Home or Deadpool and Wolverine, to my knowledge there are zero big cameos in this movie beyond Harrison Ford refusing to grow a mustache and Giancarlo Esposito being typecast. To be fair, I'd consider it a character assassination if he DIDN'T decide that a functional planet killer was enough to move Alderaan to war. Yeah, exactly. It's not a shining moment of morality, but there really was no good way to end the combat- by all estimates, the civilian death toll would have been just as high or higher as the Japenese government was essentially brainwashing their civilians to think american soldiers were literal demons and encouraging women and children to attack them. Although I think we still would have had atomics, seeing how far in development they were- somewhat more horrifyingly, I think without a combat usage in WW2 either side could easily have pulled the trigger in the cold war. Lord knows we got about as close as one can get even in the actual timeline of events. Yeah, exactly. Mon Mothma's Legends characterization- essentially teetering on the edge of authoritarianism because she was so scared to trust anyone else with the burden of the decisions she had to make during the war- was so much more interesting to me than her kind of stupid canon decision to just gut the new republic military. I think it's a good move long term, but it needed to be accompanied by something along the lines of MASSIVE incentives for sector or system militias to vastly increase in power, whether it was tax exemptions for systems that would use a portion of the saved credits to build up stronger defense fleets, or even just arming their citizenry. The idea of just crossing your fingers that we wouldn't need the military doesn't feel at all reasonable, especially from the mother of the rebellion. Ah- I think it's uninhabited in canon and legends at that point in the timeline, but I agree that at least in theory Tarkin wouldn't particularly care if there had been innocents, seeing as he blew up a nonmilitary planet shortly beforehand. The question is if the 2025 thread will actually have anything to be on-topic about. As they usually open a few days after the january sets release, if current rumors are true, we could just call it "Arkham Asylum 2025 rumors and discussion thread"

I think we've had August price points and started to get hints as early as February before. I agree, but I think it's moreso about the fact that aside from the helmet the figures are literally identical. It's not lego's fault, that's how pilots are, but it'd be like if they did a $70 X-wing with all the characters being background rebel pilots with the same face. I think for $70 the price is not terrible, but if they'd included a desirable figure it would have gone a long way towards making that feel worth it. You throw in, like, Dooku and Plo or something and I'd buy it day one instead of my current plan to wait for a discount and/or see how much my MOC would cost to make physically. -
Aside from the fact that that's pretty subjective, it's not just THAT they let him go, it's that they overtly lied about why. There's no reason to do that. I don't think so, and it's not just a "change in management", it's rebooting the universe. To me, keeping only the stuff you did while letting everyone else's stuff die seems pretty selfish, especially if you pretend you're cutting the rest to have a clean slate. It really isn't the same thing though- they were always in a murky area canon wise. The netflix shows were certainly written as if they were set in the MCU, regardless of whether or not they were given canon status. Peacemaker was not only explicitly written as part of the DCEU, but literally has the DCEU justice league appear. Making it part of the DCU is less like officially saying Daredevil is MCU canon and more like if they rebooted the MCU, then said Daredevil was canon to the new one. I mean it's even worse than that it's like if the MCU avengers showed up to arrest Fisk at the end of season 3 and THEN they said it was canon to the new universe. Obviously palpatine is evil, but he himself isn't really all that volatile. He's able to hide that he's a sith from jedi masters despite being in a room with them consistently for over a decade. I think you're going too far in response. Sheev is calm the vast majority of the time we see him, and while it's a front, he acts respectfully whenever he's not in full-on "now, jedi, you will die" mode. That doesn't really say anything in regards to the extent of how evil he is. I don't know exactly what you meant, but I'd point out that Alderaan was more or less defenseless. They had a planetary military force, but it wasn't exactly a powerhouse- it'd be like saying Cleveland is a military target because it has a police force (for now). He is, he just had a bad day in society. He didn't say migrants- I don't really understand what he's saying beyond that he thinks you could bend the OT into a "the empire was right" perspective- but I think this probably references the sham alliance between the two worst factions that ended with the nazis fighting a two-front war- although I'm pretty sure Germany broke the truce and did that to themselves. I second this fully. Sorry- I wrote my comment before yours appeared.

I agree, but I also think we just have too many clone trooper sets on shelves at the same time, especially in terms of battle packs. That's entirely possible. A part of me almost wonders if Plo was meant for the ARC but was cut for budget reasons, though I wouldn't say there's enough evidence to seriously consider that theory unless/until the year fully goes by without another Plo appearence. He's consistently been the best fake leaker (Partially because he's admitted multiple times to being a faker so he's not really trying to fool anyone as much) -
I still can't forgive the new DCU guys for axing Cavill for a "clean slate" then turning around and saying the suicide squad guys are all coming back and that most of the peacemaker show is canon, somehow. There was like a few month period between the end of the weird post-Snyder hodgepodge and the Gunn announcement where some suit said they had a 10-year plan focused on Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, and I mean like c'mon that's the obvious move how are we not doing that.

Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah, I figured, I was just already digging through my files for the Mustafar one so I figured I'd show it off. Thanks! I am going with one of these. -
I mean, we could speculate whether or not anything in the trailer seems like a Soup mech or power armor for Lex. We don't know it but I'd bet on it that we won't. That mold is a big signal to me for the downfall of the theme. We got type 2 and 3 cowls at the same time for a number of years, depending on which was better suited to the specific man, but the type 4 seems to have replaced both.

First, while I agree it's possible Plo will be in something else, lego has had microfighter exclusive figures before, so it can't be ruled out. The fact that the microfighter is coming first also is a point in favor of him being exclusive or at least not directly planned for something IMO, as if he was planned to be in a more expensive set I can't imagine lego wouldn't want that out first so they could draw sales for that before making Plo more widely availible. For the second part, honestly, it absolutely is just you, there's really zero logic behind lego releasing a cancelled torrent. That set is so old it would be incredibly out of place in a 2025 lineup. Not to mention a few other things- lego has been overwhelmingly P2 focused in the past half-decade, so at the very least I'd assume they'd change the figure lineup. And with the amount of content there is overall nowadays, even with the amount of republic vehicles we get, I don't think the torrent sees the light of day at all anytime soon. But it's been so long since the cancelled one that if it did, it'd be a new design sharing at best passing similarities to the cancelled one. Agreed- the design philosophy has evolved. Even if we ever did get a new Torrent- which I doubt is happening anytime soon, even with the amount of republic vehicles we get, there's just an astronomical and ever-expanding amount of content to cover- I'm confident it'd be a wholly new design. Yeah that tracks. Not all of the death troopers were protecting your Dedra- some went with Thrawn and ended up causing Sabine to use the force after they were killed. As a side note- Sabine's a great character, if I had to have a Dedra it'd be her, but I really hope they reveal that her using the force on Peridea was moreso due to the planet's intrinsic force power. I really like the idea of a non-force-sensitive jedi learner and don't like the idea of retconning characters to be force-sensitive. It'd be like if they made Han Solo a jedi.
