DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I mean Jesus imagery with Superman is kind of just an obvious parallel to draw, if you have a character who always does what he thinks is right and gives everything for humanity despite being something more than human himself, the comparisons will be made. I maintain that while BvS is very choppy, the Snyder movies in general work very well if you view it as an elseworlds story with a fallen batman who is reinspired to be a hero by Superman's sacrifice. Bald people don't actually need to breathe, without hair there's no need for all that oxygen. I mean ultimately kids won't care if Soup isn't directly based on the movie. People tend to for some reason take this as "kids are idiots and zero people under the age of 18 can tell that the minifigure is not an exact replica of the movie figure", but I'm just saying most kids who want a superman minifigure aren't going to turn away if it's not got the exact detailing of the movie version. It's cheap enough that the build doesn't quite matter, just like everyone's favorite yellow sports car in man of steel. -

Officially, but in 2015/2016 the First Order General was availible at some retailers (I want to say Target, but it may have been pre-death - in the us - ToysRUs Ohhh, that makes sense, I agree. Ice Age Man, hell yeah. No way there are two bigfigs in a set that cheap, I'd guarantee both are minifigs. So sad- this could have been the Thanos Car. (Or Thanos Copter, that could even give us a new Hellcat). Yeah, whether or not I get that set is all up to the minifigures. But something tells me we still won't be getting Scale Suit Cap. See that's what annoys me most about these. This is our first major battle in an avengers film where both sides have significant numbers of vehicles. You could make a full wave based on this. But no, instead of a brick-built chitauri gorrila or chitauri tank or a ravager flying motorcycle thing or any of the other vehicles on both sides, it's just rubble over and over. (I will grant the dragon flyer) Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the concept of background builds rather than made-up vehicles, but this is a situation where there are REAL vehicles in the scene. Yeah, no way we get what would have to be a new mold when half the time we can't even get new prints. -
Honestly that set doesn't look good to me at all. Putting aside that it's clearly copying lego- as @Agent Kallus says, this is taking lego part designs 1:1, which definitely sets it as a knockoff rather than 3P- it's just not a good design. This looks like the type of design lego would come up with in 2006ish.

Yeah, exactly! I've been gathering minifigures for a spider-verse MOC for awhile- a way to get spider-man and venom for $5 total is something I'll definitely take lego up on. Easy way to bulk up the ranks. Are you kidding? Two minifigs in a superhero polybag? That's awesome! -

I prefer his comic costume- granted, my purist custom is a bit techier than I'd like, but I prefer that to a costume that sort of removes any of the mystery on "is this guy really the avatar of a god or is he just crazy". Strange is a good shout and I'll add his portal and himself to the set. Morbius has his own special area in my collection, though, and unfortunately I don't own a ghost rider. What DLC for which homecoming set? -

When I was looking through what I owned for my small category entry I wrote off this set as being exceedingly difficult to make anything substantially different out of without resorting to abstraction or microscale. I'm happy to be proven wrong here- you've created a coherent build that actually has some level of articulation and is the exact type of thing lego used to put on the back of the box. -

If the set looked like that, I might have bought it. In keeping with the theme though, here's something I recently added to my own marvel modular: Added two new faces to my Midnight Sons at the base of the bugle. -
DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

His full legal name is actually Christmas Kringle O'Donell Robin, Christopher Robin for short. EDIT: Thought this was the other thread- let me add actual relevant disccusion: Who's buying the soup mech? I personally am not, at least not day 1, just because I don't really want anything in the set so as much as I'd like to see lego DC return I can't really justify spending money on something I don't want so that later on I MIGHT be able to spend money on something I do want. But I do hope it sells well overall. -
The turtle returns. You cannot kill him, merely cause him to return to his shell, from which he shall always emerge stronger, greener, and with more capitalization. Glad to see he's still turtling around, even if it's over on discord. Happy New Year to you too, turtle, and to everyone here on eurobricks. On a completely unrelated note I heard that this guy Megatortise is going to be joining eurobricks as a totally new person who has not been on the forum before. His return caused me to remember that after his second death I said I was going to start Turtle Tuesdays and then I did like one before forgetting, so as a Tuesday... GUYS! Who is going to buy the SUPERMAN MECH? I am. The MECH is what makes superman fly. That's REALISTIC. Not like flying by himself, like a BEE. I like that the set has this guy LEX LUTHOR, even though he is BALD. He is GREEN- like GREEN LANTERN? (I'm actually not, at least not right away, just because as much as I'd like to see more non-batman DC sets, I just... don't want anything from that set, and would rather spend money on other stuff. This january is actually the first year that I don't think a single set's appealed to me- the Ahsoka's Starfighter is cool, but $45 is highway robbery if I buy it.)

Odd, I can't believe it's the TNG cast and not the Origional Series with Kirk and Spock.

LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I would guess it'll be a third of the size of the last system one, or even less. I almost wonder if it's really a 41st battle pack that comes with a "turbo tank" in the way that the 332nd pack comes with a "swamp speeder" (Although to be fair the latter isn't as terribly far off from the canon size) -

Yeah, exactly. It'd be a great opportunity for legends characters or visions/visionaries characters (funny that both continuities had non-canon anthology series with similar names) I was counting it as .5 but the 332nd pack as a full one. Painting your commander's face on your helmet doesn't change the fact that you're part of the 501st any more than widening the stripes on your helmet and throwing some extra gear on does. -
DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

Is TSS canon to the DCU? I think people VASTLY underestimate the general audience's ability to understand the concept of multiple universes. They've seen three spider men in the same movie, they know Wolverines can be in different continuities with the same face, I really don't think it would be an issue at all. Yeah, I never liked the Tales of the Multiverse show. The comics have had some good storylines, but the show felt like it just had some weird ones. Lois Lane's Superwoman was a cool episode concept, but every subsequent time she showed up felt like a wasted slot we could have used for a new concept. It was also waaaaay to comedic. I don't mind the occasional party wonder woman or "what if Alfred became Doomsday" episode, but there were too many, and a weird focus on OCs - I have no interest in watching Cat Grant and Detective Chimp's kid, or that random Nordic tribesman they gave a mother box to. (Actually, scratch that, that sounds hard as hell. Nordic invasion of Apocalypse would be awesome.) Oh, don't get me wrong, the rock absolutely deserves blame as well for his attempt to run a coup in the DCEU. You must be jonkling if you think a New Gods sequel is ever gonna happen. You had me in the first half, not gonna lie. Your mistake is believing that lego is focusing on the batman universe rather than on batman himself specifically. Any character besides Batman, Jonkler, or Harley Quinn is extraneous. -

The thing is Bucky redeeming himself in his eyes to become captain america is vastly more interesting to me than what actually happened in TFATWS What I'd want to see happen from a narrative level is either Sam or Bucky gets the true cap shield and the other two have different looking shields made out of non-indestructible material (say we give john a black and red shield and Sam or Bucky the classic non-round shield), but given that Sam and Bucky are both friends with Wakanda now, assumably they could just ask for a few copies of the original. I don't know how accurate that poll really is- F4 hasn't started it's marketing campaign yet, and unless they started sending out the surveys a few days ago, I doubt Superman's trailer was even out yet either. I think it's more a case of the one with a marketing campaign in full swing beating the ones that haven't started marketing yet. I'd hazard a guess that if they redid the poll right now, superman would leap straight past CA4. -

I feel confident that 2026 gets us Bly and a new Neyo, and I wouldn't be surprised if the turbo tank had a new Gree. I'd argue most commanders besides Rex and Cody won't be recognized by casuals, but after the three above, you're out of characters that were in the movies at all, or prominent CW ones like Rex. The only ones left are characters with minor appearances in the animated series or ancillary media. First of all you are absolutely correct that more casual fans only know Rex and maybe Cody. As for clone fans... never. The amount of people I've seen claiming how much we "need" characters like Doom and Thorn, characters who were in just a few scenes in a single show, it's crazy. Some people won't be happy until we have every skin from battlefront two (Lambent Seeker when?) Doom would be a great May 4th GWP if they still did figure ones- a very obscure character that some fans would still be like "oh, cool" for. I'd be kind of annoyed with them making a retail set to include him and his legion again. I know they're the most famous legion, but I totally agree. They aren't 3.5 battle packs in a 4 year time period level famous. -

You might be the first person I've ever met who doesn't like Steve, but I agree with the overall point. Bucky was given vastly more setup. Sam could have worked as Cap (even by himself, though I will once again shill for what should have happened, which was them deciding no one man could be steve and Sam, Bucky, and John ALL become cap), but TFATWS really fumbled the ball. I think the failure of The Marvels does ultimately come down to it just not being a film people wanted to see. I don't think it just failed because the MCU was declining and they didn't give her a more famous supporting hero. Brie Larson's been a great actress in other things, but I do think that whether it was the script or direction or what, her Captain Marvel wasn't great. Some people say she was too arrogant, but I think it's the opposite- personality wise I've read plenty of comics where she acts like Tony Stark. I think they needed to go all-in on the hotshot pilot personality. Eh. I don't really like the setting, I feel like if you're gonna do 60's amazing fantasy style, go all in. No streaming fights on twitch. The theme is a good representation of that for me too, if you want to do 60's spider man, make it feel like 60's spider man. If you want to do that more modern style, do that. I will say though I loved the bit where he cracks a brick into a guy's skull and everyone winces. They won't address it further than that in the show, but that man is DEAD. This spider man killed a guy. It doesn't matter so much if the audience knows all the specific versions of the characters, but that it's the only place left to go if you're trying to make bigger and bigger crossovers. (Also, just the promise of seeing the avengers interact with legacy characters who've already shown up, like Tobey Spider-man and Hugh Wolverine, is probably intended to be the main draw). If Endgame had everyone from the MCU, telling the GA we're gonna get everyone from ALL the marvel movies is the only place left for the franchise to go in terms of size. One could argue it should just focus on being good rather than just big, but that's not a lesson marvel seems to have learned from films like NWH and DP&W that were both. (Or just add the Rivals cast in) -

No problem, that's fair. I get what you're saying, but I still don't fully understand it. Peacemaker features the DCEU justice league- whether or not it was comedic, they are directly shown and interacted with in a show Gunn has designated as canon. Black Adam isn't canon. The post credits scene could have been The Rock looking directly into the camera and saying "Look, it is the version of superman played by Henry Cavill, any future films containing this actor as superman are therefore continuations of this, the black adam cinematic universe, formerly known as the DCEU" and it wouldn't matter because black adam isn't canon to the DCU (and most of the GA didn't see it or won't remember it existed). If you are expecting your audience to understand that the cast of a movie can be carried over as the same characters in a different canon (Blue Beetle, various suicide squad characters), why not one more? This one's on me- I know I've seen it somewhere, but I can't find specifically where Gunn himself said those exact words. That said, Henry Cavill said it was due to "changing the guard", which is a pretty similar sentiment. I'm not saying it's super unique or anything, but not every director does it, and he is one of the ones who definitely does. He's done a great job with the guardians films, I'm just saying that given that all of his other recent superhero projects have been the same basic concept as the guardians films (TSS, Peacemaker, Creature Commandos all follow the same general concept, down to lovable animal (or plant) sidekick.) -

Thanks. TRUE No yeah exactly he hasn't committed any crimes or anything so I don't think there's any reason yet to be super concerned, but it's something to put on the radar. Personally I'd be more likely to buy a comic one just because I haven't seen the movie- I don't know if I'll like it or not yet. If the movie's great, maybe I won't care whether it's a comic or movie set. If it's not good, I'd prefer a comic set. Especially as it pertains to lego I don't think anyone can reasonably state that that's the reason most people dislike the swap. We don't have a figure of the normal comic silver surfer yet. It's totally reasonable to be annoyed that his first lego minifigure will likely actually be a her, and therefore we probably won't even be able to use the head or torso for customs of him. (If we even get a silver surfer figure at all lol) To be fair, I just don't know where else they can logically go to expand this. Team ups/crossovers sell, they're running scared over their very inconsistent performance since endgame, and while RDJ and Chris Evans are returning for Doomsday I can see them thinking it won't be enough for Secret Wars. The only way to expand the crossovers is to take what NWH and DP&W did to it's ultimate conclusion and include as many MCU and pre-MCU marvel heroes as possible. -

The guy who plays Miles in the spider verse movies keeps hitting on Hailee (Gwen, also the best human in the transformers movies) despite her being engaged and uncomfortable with it, and while I don't remember the exact details I think something similar happened with the lady who played Liz in homecoming. Ohh, since he specified Miles I didn't realize, but I guess that makes sense. -

Lol. (But realistically, while obviously we'll still get figures of comic or Spidey and Friends miles, I doubt this even stops us from getting specifically sony spider-verse miles for two reasons: 1. It's not that bad yet. His behavior's terrible and is the exact sort of thing I've had to deal with in real life, don't get me wrong, but it's not yet criminal or particularly explicit. Hypothetically speaking, you could just have him and Hailee record their lines separately (and/or remove the romance subplot between the two, which honestly I'd root for even without the BTS stuff. They just don't need it.) 2. Sometimes the studios just kind of... don't care? Like sure, usually they're pretty quick on the trigger if someone tweets something they don't like, or more justifiably if there's any allegations of criminal conduct, but sometimes they're just fine with it? Ezra Miller is the craziest example because he did pretty much every crime and DC just didn't care (though lego did drop him) but it's not the only time they'd just rolled through and kept someone on despite concerning or criminal behavior.) He's just angry that he's the only spider-man to not have his love interest fall for him IRL Given that Mephisto is responsible for breaking up Peter and MJ's marriage, I think this actually works as a legitimate theory that he created or influenced Paul as part of his interest in keeping Peter and MJ apart. -
