  1. I don't think so at all- for one thing, they lied about why they were getting rid of him. THAT'S disingenuous, to claim you're doing it for a clean slate and then through a series of retcons and rehires keep a mix of characters and films canon to the new continuity. You even bring up in your own comment that the second season of peacemaker has to retcon the first season. That's... a show having to retcon a previous season of the show is not a great example of a clean slate. I also think- if we're gonna call stuff disingenuous- that it's disingenuous to claim the cameo from the show Gunn's keeping in-continuity doesn't matter but that the black Adam post credits scene should be a barrier to entry? Or that bringing Cavill back somehow means you have to bring back the entire MoS supporting cast? What? Gunn has shown he's perfectly fine bringing actors over from the DCEU- including ones who were prominent or part of clunky films. Therefore, wanting a clean slate or changing the guard is clearly not the highest priority and shouldn't have been a barrier to Cavill's return. This wasn't something that bothered me much at first- seeing the high up actually consistently talk about his plans is fine with me- but he definitely likes to have his name front and center, like in the superman trailer. If he can actually back it up and deliver a great film that isn't in his standard formula, I think he's fine to do so, but I don't have much faith about that. Mile's VA is starting to create his own Canon Event so if it wasn't for how well the first two did, I'd legitimately put BTSV as less likely to release than TBP2. Ahsoka Season 2's not in any real trouble, it just takes forever for disney to put out season 2s for it's non-mando shows. Totally forgot the wonder woman game was even a thing- that's at SW eclipse level of just not happening at this point.
  2. I think we'll be lucky if the basic troopers HAVE pauldrons. Lego is becoming more and more hesitant to use cloth pieces.
  3. I'm almost impressed by the fact that he's managed to make the suicide squad three times. lmao (Honestly I don't think it's a BAD movie per se, but it's so overrated with everyone hyping it up like it's the best movie ever. The dark knight trounces it, and I'd argue the entire Nolan trilogy beats it.) While you could try to weasel the words into not being a direct lie, firing Henry Cavill for a "clean slate" and then not only keeping the majority of the actors on Gunn's own projects, but making the actual peacemaker show in-continuity with the DCU DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE DCEU JUSTICE LEAGUE IS IN THE SHOW is pretty deceptive. The whole "keeping the TSS guys" strikes me not only as a kind of scummy move with the context of firing Cavill, but a bad move overall because you DO need a clean slate. Keeping 1 or two actors wouldn't be terrible if you made it very, very clear that this was a new start. But all this, I like to consider myself fairly knowledgeable about superheroes and movies, but I'm completely lost. Peacemaker is canon, despite the DCEU league showing up in the film? The Suicide Squad part of the universe has the cast all returning, but isn't canon? Is Blue Beetle in the DCU? It really seems like Gunn is too personally attached to his earlier projects to actually make a clean slate, which isn't a mentality I want leading the new DC universe.
  4. Don't. I'm sure the ARC will hit 20% discounts eventually- in my opinion it's not horribly priced, at least for LSW2025, but if you can wait I don't think you'll have trouble getting it later in the year. The Ahsoka Fighter, on the other hand, is one that I seriously hope will be $30 within a year of release, though I am concerned given that other sets I thought were particularly egregiously priced (The X-jet) haven't seen many discounts almost a year in. To my knowledge there are only two the entire year- the Night Trooper BP and the Andor U-wing. We didn't get a figure scaled or UCS tie in 2022, so it isn't without precedent. While we're overdue an Advanced (and as unlikely as a new defender is, it would be nice), it doesn't seem to be in the cards this year. I was going to say "this isn't the case, there's nothing stopping them from making an OT or rebels set" but... yeah, our only chance is Andor.
  5. In 2022, depending on what region you lived in, the only released sets were the 4+ Batcycle vs Harley and the Jim Lee art set. (Otherwise it does win with 6, as there's the 3 system batman sets and the technic batmobile) I don't think that counts, it wasn't really a year of the theme so much as an announcement that the super heroes theme was coming.
  6. At least in the US, at 15 years of age, the Dummy is ineligible to run for president and will remain so until 2048. Merry Christmas! It's a UCS Son of Simp
  7. The sad truth is that DC just isn't that popular and while we're very vocal, there simply aren't enough of us to dictate what type of sets lego makes. They've pretty much written off the theme from anything besides parents who want to get their 4-7 year old kids a Batman thing and adults who liked the older movies.
  8. Why, Life Day of course! Chewbacca will soon be home to visit his family! Merry Christmas, fellow inmates!
  9. Yeah, that is a wild choice for her specifically to wear. Chewie's apparently in a lot but @Agent Kallus did the math and it's Steve, which I should have expected. Merry Christmas everyone!
  10. It's got to be one of the spider-men. TLBM Batman would be a threat, but he's got a ton of minor variants with different faces.
  11. These surprise me the most- they're right in that nostalgia for middle aged men catagory, and lego's usually heavy on that. I actually have the leaked plans for the DC CMF 2: 1. Batman (blue and LBG suit with the yellow oval logo): walkie-talkie 2. Batman (all-black suit with yellow oval logo): Batarang 3. Batman (blue and DBG suit with black bat logo): grappling hook 4. Joker (Dark Purple suit with TCW Dooku hair in green): megaphone with "bang" flag 5. Joker (medium lavender suit with tarkin hair in lime): revolver 6. Joker (arkham jumpsuit, TCW Anakin hair in green): handcuffs 7. Harley Quinn (red/black jester outfit): buildable hammer 8. Harley Quinn (red/black biker style outfit, blond hair with pink and azure dyed ends): buildable hammer 9. Harley Quinn (red/blue corset, red/blue dyed hair): Buildable hammer 10. Mr. Freeze (sand blue suit with mysterio helmet): Buildable freeze gun 11. Batgirl (LBG suit with Gamora hair and mask): Batarang 12. Penguin (Black suit, light nougat skin tone, old top hat): 1x2 tile with $100 bill pattern.
  12. You boldly assume they won't just put the same wolverine figure in sets for five years.
  13. Batgirl having no relation to batman is really, really funny. Oh, my bad, I blacked out and woke up in a different country again last night, that might have been me suiting up as Khonshu's Mando Knight once more. Eagerly awaiting Christmas day for my new pipe bomb. Beautiful. It's him. It's Man.
  14. Thank you! I was inspired by the old channel "Brickbros UK", the guys who ended up making the Tron set and then disappearing :(. They used to be really good at making alternate builds that increased the footprint of a set. Thank you! I agree, the dropship is very compact. Thank you! I thought it would be fun to give it a canon backstory, but with a wheeled vehicle in star wars, I added a bit of comical flair- here it's spoofing some old spy tropes.
  15. UCS Kyle Rayner's fridge. No figures are included.
  16. Ah, so it's the second one, they're all dead and Batman decided to send Barbara to school so she can learn how to not die like all the robins did. Not that sinestro, the paragon of fear, is not also an issue here, but Dexstarr is a CAT, Hal. How are you worse here than in the comics? Did santa dummy send me the death threats or the pipe bomb? He really needs to sign his gifts, Blactron's assassins were very cordial with their poisoned christmas cookies.
  17. I mean so would I but you've seen this wave.
  18. I'm surprised no one's brought up that most of the droids could be B2s. We've seen blue/grey colored MTTs deploy them and it would explain why it's a smaller number. My guess is the set's going to be something like: 8 b2s, 2 B1 pilots, 1 tactical droid, 2 clone troopers.
  19. I don't hate the 2019 or 2017 models, but I have to agree that the 06 one is the best.
  20. Batman was cursed with the obscure superhero condition "XY chromosomes" and therefore barred from joining the subline. Flash sneaking in ended the theme. I like the idea of Blacktron as this threat that just keeps re-emerging no matter how many times different hero factions defeat it over the centuries. I never watched the show, partially because I didn't realize it was it's own show and thought it was just a lego thing, but do they give a lore reason for the general setup of the theme? Are the robins also at the academy and just background characters, or is it therefore implied by omission that batman's run out of robins and has realized he should probably send his next protege to a school instead of directly putting twelve year olds in front of enemy fire? For a time, I considered sparing your wretched little subtheme, but now, you shall witness... it's DISASSEMBLY!
  21. I'd submit the argument that at $50 for 341 pieces, the turbo tank would have to have like 8 minifigs to be "worth it" The previous MTTs also came with very few minifigures- while lego doesn't count B1s as full minifigs, I think they certainly count them as figures in some capacity. I don't think it'd be impossible- especially if those figs are, say, ARC Jesse and republic crosshair - they know they'd get sales... Ouch, that's really aggravating- check the parts list- I wonder if it's intentional or if they've mixed up the trans-brown/black colors. Over the past two decades or so since the last UCS AT-ST, sets now contain a dramatically larger amount of significantly smaller pieces- I wouldn't say the larger piece count is evidence against it being a straight remake. Though I wouldn't say no to a new bunker...
  22. Hot take: Batman forever is less enjoyable than Batman and Robin. Batman and Robin is overwhelmingly, comically bad, to the extent that it's hilarious, but Batman forever's just... bad. It's not BORING, like some other bad films, but it's neither a good movie nor is it comically bad, so it's just kind of... there.
  23. But toy commercials in the 90s. I don't know how many kids these days are big fans of the Schumacher films as opposed to modern glorified toy commercials. Those movies aren't exactly shining examples of staying power. This is actually canonically how ninjago ranges are decided. There's a six-sided die with each ninja's name on it, a second die with some price ranges, and a third one with mech/jet/car/motorcycle/combo vehicle/dragon. If the die gets stuck on an edge or something we get a villain themed set or a temple respectively. THE DIE IS CAST
  24. Yes, exactly. Also note the lack of an anniversary label. While it seems ROTS will have the most representation for an anniversary of any recent film anniversary, the sets are all just "ways to get clones" rather than great representations of the film itself. (I'm also salty that my prediction of the May 2025 UCS being Anakin's ETA-2 never came to pass) I'm sure many of them do like ROTS, but yes, I can imagine the firestorm that would occur if the august wave wasn't full of clone sets and was instead something like a senate duel and/or mustafar set. I mean we already had complaints when we only knew about the ARC-170 in terms of 2025 ROTS sets. I'd completely missed the connection that the Kylo helmet and shuttle were probably TFA anniversary tie-ins. But yes, I agree anything for Rogue One is unlikely, especially with the fact that Andor's getting some attention this year. I suppose a midi-scale krennic's shuttle and/or death trooper helmet are possible.
  25. With this, I tried to make more of a Speed Champions/city styled set rather than a star wars one. But I of course still want it to fit into canon! So here's the storyline here: Luthen Rael, as one of his facades to launder money to the rebellion, owns a Neskar racing team- similar to podracing or riot racing, Neskar racing is based on an ancient, pre-repulsorlift motorsport. However, something's gone wrong. The Imperials, Crimson Dawn, and the Hutts are all attempting their own intrigues into the newest Neskar racing season, and as such Luthen Rael has inserted his man, Cassian Andor, into the race under the guise of being his new driver. Cassian must uncover and foil the myraid plots at work, and if he's lucky, win the race to net some extra money to funnel to the rebels. Will he be able to pull it off? Here's an overview of the set. The main build is the racer, built like a Speed Champions car, with a garage facade and small crew transport also included. Let's take a closer look at that racer: This is the Neskar racing vehicle Luthen sponsers- while it uses the archiac concept of wheels as part of the tradition, it includes some innovations such as retractable blasters to distract or knock back other racers. This sort of vehicle also includes a rear-focused deflector shield to block hits from racers behind it. It rolls very well for something built from a set without wheels (and barely containing axles- these aren't even all attached the same way!), though I confess even without the blasters it still has a very sci-fi feel. Here's a quick look at the internal controls and seat, as well as the blasters in their retracted position and the spoiler lowered. Alright, here's the left side of the garage. On the left, we have the crew transport in it's fueling dock (attached via a technic pin). The vehicle itself is somewhat basic, but it fits a crewman and driver. In the middle we have the fueling cell, with a line for the fueling pump (shown above with a crewman pumping fuel into the racer). We also have a (non-sliding) door through which Luthen is entering to meet with Andor. Here is the central section. On the upper left, we have the support crane, currently lowering a spare fuel canister to the ground floor. The bulk of the central section is simply an archway through which the racer can be driven. (It can fit through in either mode although it's recommended to lower the spoiler to increase clearance. Note that on the right wing of the garage there is a hinged step to allow for someone to step from the wing to the central segment's roof. The hinge allows the step to fold up if a kid wants to hinge the wings and central section into a straight line. Here's the right wing all folded up. For now we'll just focus on the center, which has a set of dials and readouts to monitor, a removable plate with some chemical barrels, a crate, and fire suppressant, and above it a tool rack (Containing a click wrench, welding tool, crescent wrench, and breaker bar). Alright- on the left side we can now see that the panel can be opened to reveal a hidden stash of weapons (A blaster pistol, riot shield, and two halves of an electrostaff), and on the right, we've extended the retractable stairs to allow access to the upper level. And finally, here are our figures. On the left we have Vern Lojek, the maintenance chief for Luthen's crew. He isn't part of the rebellion, but a personal friend of Luthen's who knows enough to not ask questions about his new pilot. Next we have Cassian Andor in a Neskar driver's outfit (which bears some similarities to a brightened Corpo uniform). And on the right is Luthen Rael, the sponsor of the racer and a leader in the nascent rebellion.
