Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I seriously hope this is the case. Especially that price tag for the AT-RT, since it would assumably mean it's not as oversized as the previous versions. The Remnant battlepack would be awesome as well, and I wouldn't be surprised if- if they do end up doing a movie wave- we see a new Crest as well. Here's my wave concept based solely on what I know from the trailer, previous mando content, and press reports: AT-RT ($9.99): our first accurately sized AT-RT with Mando and Grogu Imperial Battlepack ($19.99): Incinerator trooper, armored officer, and two remnant snowtroopers. Build is a Viper probe and E-Web Arena Match ($49.99): Gladiatorial Arena build with Swole Rotta, Mando, Embo, and 1-2 other figures. TIE Outlander vs X-wing ($109.99): Comes with Trapper Wolf, NR Astromech, Carson Teva, TIE Pilot, and Imperial Villain 1 AT-AT ($139.99): Slightly smaller AT-AT with Mando, Grogu, Imperial Villain 2, Imperial Officer, 2x AT-AT pilot, and 2x Snowtrooper Razor Crest ($179.99): New RC, larger than the 2020 version, with flat silver and drumlaquered accents. Comes with Mando, Grogu, Sigourney Weaver's officer, Zeb, Embo, and a nonspoiler cameo figure. -
Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

I mean, that was 2013. Cap would now have his helmet, I don't think it's impossible they'd give thor a new mold, and in both cases they'd have printing over a decade more modern. I think they'd be worthy upgrades even without leg printing or dual molding, and it's not like those are completely impossible- at least SOME characters would get them. No problem I agree, I just didn't want to propose a fig lineup where most of the new characters were Daredevil ones because I wanted to try to keep it generally realistic rather than specifically what I'd want (In which case the six would be Dark Red Daredevil, Elektra, Bullseye, comic Moon Knight, and Netflix Daredevil)- though I did slip Moon Knight in there. I don't think Genosha's impossible. It's got some interesting aesthetic choices and was the main base of the X men for a significant chunk of time. Though the main reason is that we're still missing a TON of major X-men characters and it's not like they'd just do another X-mansion D2C in 5 years. I'm not saying it'll be the next one, just that I could see it happening down the line. As for being a location where the sentinals kill mutants in '97... yeah? We've gotten and are getting more order 66 sets, we've gotten Battle of Wakanda sets despite it also ending in a genocide, we've had crispy anakin, we've had a punisher minifigure, etc. They've been based on Genosha for a pretty significant chunk of time in a few continuities, not to mention that it's not like there haven't been slaughters at the X-mansion. -

Allegedly they are 18+, though I still don't think we get a deadpool one anytime soon. That said I think he shows up in the next spider-man D2C, if they wanted to put him in the bugle and were only stopped by the fox stuff. Gwenpool got pushed for a bit but she kind of fell out of the limelight recently, and with Jeff showing up without her in rivals+ living with Kate in the Jeff comic, she's lost the baby yoda to her mando. I think her best chance was a SDCC fig in the mid 2010s. Yeah, that's the one. Built the AoU diorama, it's crazy to me how that subline swings between 10/10 sets (NWH Final Battle, AoU diorama) and extremely disappointing sets (Civil War, both the male and female Endgame dioramas). The AoU set is excellent, it's impressive how well they recreated the iconic opening shot. 8 minifigs and a bigfig is also awesome value for $100 when it comes alongside a pretty solid build. The jeep, tower, and bunker help fill out the set and prevent the endgame issue of it just being generic terrain. Also completely surreal to build Czech Hedgehogs in a lego set. Not even shape facsimiles, actual vehicle deterring czech hedgehogs. -

Right, forgot him. I wasn't counting that one as I was only checking minifig molds- the other molds might count for the budget but I didn't have a way of quickly checking every set for new molds in the build, which might not be easily visible. Ok, so a few more. That was another excellent one. Explains how the status quo of 4 got to the status quo of 5 instead of creating an entirely different galaxy altering event everyone just forgets happens. That was just like 15 minutes on brickset, hence why I missed a few. -
I don't know how to answer this specifically without spoilers, so I'll just say in the comics we explore whether or not Eve's powers have limits, and the results give me confidence that anyone short of willpower incarnate Hal wouldn't be able to take out viltrumites. At best I'd say people like John might be able to channel all of their ring's power and their willpower into a suicide blast that could take out a viltrumite. I don't know that hal could beat Conquest but I agree he could at least take out some low level viltrumites through creative thinking. I agree that the parameters you set up are where the outcome realistically falls. If it's Geoff Johns or other Lantern writers, the Earth GLs survive with almost the entire rest of the corps killed, with Thragg surviving and Conquest dying to a major lantern sacrificing themselves. If Kirkman writes it, it's a massacre victory for the Viltrum Empire because he thinks Invincible lowdiffs base Superman. Personally I think only a few viltrumites are killed off, the guardians are killed, and the earth lanterns pull back to earth to fight alongside the JL with most other lanterns killed or returning to their home planets. I'm not actually sure (all this is stated in the first 1.5 seasons so don't worry about spoilers in this part): Nolan abandoning his post is unheard of, so I don't think any viltrumites would become lanterns. Similarly, we know in most universes it's even worse, where even Mark is evil, so we can assume in a crossover comic it would be the same. Following is stated in 2x5 I think so it's in white: Start: Thaedus is the only potential candidate, but he doesn't strike me as the type of person to become a GL, or someone the guardians would choose, as nice as it would be for, in a way, that tease of a GL Optimus Prime finally come true. End.

Yeah it fell into the marvel issue of "we need massive event crossovers every two seconds" as well as just taking place over less time in-universe yet taking place over more time out-of-universe than the original canon run. Like the stuff that went on between IV and V in the comics was believable because it was like three years and pretty standard fare for star wars, but then they crammed a ton of galaxy spanning crossovers into the year between V and VI. Vader Down was a good crossover that didn't stretch belief- vader getting shot down and the rebels trying to finish him off is a cool premise yet not something it feels like would need to be brought up in ESB. On the other hand, the droid apocalypse feels like something that would have impacted how ROTJ plays out, or you think Jabba would have mentioned "you guys already tried to save Han, there was a whole big thing where Darth Vader fought Han's old girlfriend" What are we at for new molds, then? I'm counting the following: 2 confirmed: 1 new: Dedra Hat 2 resurrected: Clone P2 pilot helmet, K2 torso/head 3 assumed: 1 new: Bacara Helmet 2 new OR resurrected: Plo head, DT helmet. (Figure Plo's could go either way, it'll probably be made out of the harder rubber but it's possible they use the same design for it. DT helmet depends on whether or not it includes the missing jaw) 2+ possible: P1 clone pilot helmet The funny hats from the purple guys who meet with palpatine. That's pretty low compared to previous years: 2025 is 6-8 compared to (and I might be missing some resurrections here): 2024: 15 (8 resurrected: 3 SBD molds, Jar Jar head, Upper Jabba, Lower Jabba, Leia ponytail, Max Rebo head & 7 new: Neel head, beskar trooper helmet, malgus jaw, Nien Numb head, Nubs head, Praetorian helmet, Skiff Guard hat) 2024: 12 (1 resurrected: Hera tails, 10 new: clone visor, Bo hair, darksaber, Luke hair, greenhandsboy hair, thrawngirl hair, ketamine yoda head, Huyang Head, Marrok helmet, Ahsoka tails, Morgan hair) 2022: 13 (1 resurrected: Gammorean head/fat, 12 new: Cad Hat, Cad Tubes, Todo... everything, BD-1... everything, Fat Bib Tails, Quarren Head, droopy Kuill head, Kaminoan head, droidiforgotwasinobiwan head/body, inquisitor armor, Hanbutnotthathan's hat, Obi-Wan mullet.) 2021: 5 (0 resurrected: 5 new: Tech Helmet, Wrecker/Paz Armor, Dark Trooper Helmet/head, Fennec Helmet, Horny Mando helmet.) 2020: 12 (4 resurrected: Dewback, Dewback jaw, Airborne helmet, ithorian head, 8 new: Leia Hologram, KoR helmet 1 (I'm not googling the names), Jannah Hair, KoR helmet , KoR helmet 3, Devoronian head, Aqualish head, Baby Yoda head.) 2021 has even fewer molds, but in general we get double or triple this year's number in the modern era. -
DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

Enter the paradox that you hoped for Dedra in the U-wing. Guys, c'mon. I get that you want superman sets but this is ridiculous. It's like that looping GIF of peter griffin seeing a dollar, walking over, and getting hit with an anvil over and over. How many times are you gonna burn yourselves? -
The argument would be that Viltrumite bodies are stronger than lantern constructs- we've seen they're stronger than Atom Eve's constructs, at least. You might be able to pop a tumor into your brain but they'll smash yours to mush and then your willpower's broken and the tumor gone. As for the gas, it's funny you bring that up because there actually is a plotline where the heroes have a gas that would hurt the viltrumites but argue over using it because it could also kill all the humans. It's a possible win condition for the GLs if they're A: willing to sacrifice earth and B: able to find out the formula. Even then the stronger Viltrumites have been shown to be able to survive the gas anyway. I think in most scenarios the Viltrumites take this. Now you put them up against supermen I think it goes poorly for them, Robert Kirkman's art nonwithstanding, but the fact that Atom Eve is in many ways a more powerful GL and yet can't defeat even the weakened variants of Mark does not bode well for the corps. To be fair given how much stuff goes down on earth it makes sense that it has a disproportionate amount of GLs.
-
The Aslume has now directly contributed to the economy. We are three degrees away from being responsible for Jared Leto being selected as the Iranian Ambassador to the UN. VAUGELY ALLUDES TO SPOILERS FOR THE INVINCIBLE COMIC We actually might have a pretty solid answer to this- Atom Eve is arguably more powerful than a standard Lantern- I don't know if we've gotten to that point in the show yet but in the comics at one point we do get some pretty solid confirmation that her power is a more powerful version of a GL ring. She also can't defeat even the weaker-than-mark Vincibles. This would seemingly imply that the average viltrumite in the empire could body a GL with low difficulty. DC's biggest chance is going to come through on the differences in the universe's rules. Due to invincible being one story/universe (there are minor differences in the show, the biggest being nothing character Ray turning into character-with-an-actual-arc Rae, but is pretty much just an adaption of the comics), there isn't as much of a history to pull from, and the greatest feats are really just planet destruction and the sun fight. In addition, due to invincible being significantly gorier than your average DC fare, the characters in invincible bloody eachother a lot more often than in DC. The question then becomes, do viltrumites hit a lot harder than kryptonians, or are they just a lot less durable? I think in the end I'm gonna say the Viltrumites take this one. I think many of the more powerful Superman versions would destroy anyone short of Emperor Mark, but given how easy it is for viltumites to break Eve's constructs- someone who is definitely stronger than your average GL- I think the corps are decimated. Or, of course, there's the obvious answer, which is that if Mark's using the yellow suit, the corps is done for. Also, an important invincible related news tidbit that fits with the Aslume, the alternate marks (who are referred to in official, from-skybound writing as "aura farming") have subtitles such as "nogogglevincible", "inmaskible", "Mohawkcible" etc. Unfortunately the only canonized fan name seems to be Sinister Mark, no Gripper Mark (Now the much less funny "sporty invincible") or Omni-Mark (now the much wordier "Omni-Man Invincible")

It is difficult, and one of the examples of the ST's failure to really think about worldbuilding despite being made under the most "spinoff content" management of any trilogy. They did manage to cram 7 seasons and a number of other books and comics into 3 years of the clone wars though, so I think it'd be OK if we got three seasons or so of a sequel trilogy show. It's an issue due to lack of commitment- lego, like you said, is testing the waters, but they don't want to do one of the higher budget sets with a number of new prints/minifigs/molds/etc. A buildable, which has none of these and assumably a higher profit margin as a result- so lego could still scrape some money out of it if it has to go on a significant discount. But by only making sets like this, rather than minifig ones, it could be argued lego's setting the sets up for failure. Multiple official sources have stated it's a year- almost exactly so IIRC. Oh man don't remind me about all those events- I'm glad the comics are getting retconned because none of that should be canon in the first place. There are things that happen that logically would have been referenced IN ROTJ, much less later on- nobody's going to acknowledge in mando that there was a droid zombie apocalypse? Nobody in ROTJ brings up the massive battle and ordeal over Han Solo in carbonite that occurred a few months ago (not that it wasn't a thing in legends, but it was much worse in canon.) And yeah Clone Wars is pretty stuffed too- being an anthology series you can at least assume we're seeing some arcs that occur simultaneously, but it's still really full of events- especially when IIRC Luke and Leia aren't conceived until after the Clovis arc in season 6, so not only does it start sometime partway through the three years, the last nine months take place in 1.5 seasons max. -

This is going to get a bit off topic but I think Resistance's two biggest mistakes were: 1. Releasing DURING the sequels instead of after, like TCW 2008 did. (Now TCW2008 was also hated by a lot of fans early on but people eventually came around.) The gap between the end of the prequels and the start of TCW 08 allowed them to fix some issues, consciously or not- Anakin is actually likeable and charismatic and his fall is a lot more fleshed out by all the extra screen time, we actually get to see more than the start and end of the namesake Clone Wars, the Clone Troopers are developed and the chip concept introduced which gives order 66 a better tragic feel rather than "oh no the clones were all evil", etc. Resistance couldn't fix issues that hadn't even occurred yet. 2. Taking the rebels approach of "small group of new characters starting out isolated from the main conflict" rather than the TCW approach where the main prequel cast were major players. Rebels didn't need to be a Han/Luke/Leia show because it didn't need to "fix" the OT. One of people's biggest issues with the ST was the characters and how underdeveloped many were. Seeing Rey have to go through training throughout the series, Poe become a strong leader rather than get crap from his commanders all through TLJ and then given command in TROS, Finn actually have a stormtrooper rebellion or something rather than be "the guy who screams REY", and/or Rose getting... literally anything... would go a LONG way to "fixing" the sequels. Along that same point, featuring all the ships and troopers from the ST from the get-go would help enhance their recognizability and iconicity, especially those that weren't just recolors of OT ships. The good thing is since they made both mistakes, all a series taking place between TLJ and TROS would overlap with would be a couple of the comics, and we've seen firsthand that lucasfilm creatives have zero issue retconning them at the drop of a hat. (I mean, not good for the comics or health of the canon, but good for this hypothetical show.) That said, as hilarious as it would be to see if the "It's the clones' turn right now" argument remained logically consistent with an ascendent ST era, I don't think we see any significant sequel coverage in playsets anytime soon. Partially because I don't think the two 18+ sets they chose will do well, and partially because even with the billion projects in development, as far as I know we don't have any evidence of a ST clone wars being worked on. TLDR: I don't think the sequels get any significant playset coverage until new projects "fix" them or the kids who watched them when they were little get old enough to campaign for sets online like the prequel fans did. It'd be nice if we could at least get a diorama or 4+ or something to throw the main cast out there, though. -

Joke's on you, I've talked about this before but I was never going to buy Arkham, I just don't have the money or space at the moment. This could have been a $400 Watchtower with a new Red Hood, CW S1 Flash, the Snyder Cut league designs, and a minifigure of every single person with lines in the Dark Knight Trilogy. For now... we did get a batcave turned into a batmobile. Arkham being microscale isn't out of the question. I didn't hate the Knightmare Leto. He still shouldn't have been played by Leto but I thought the dialogue was pretty jonkler-like. I was going to say "this isn't the aslume threat so it means this is your legitimate opinion on the film" but then I remembered what Joker 2 was compared to the first one and... yeah... it probably would have been better that way." -

Yeah, I was actually going to mention the turnaround on lego baby yoda because since we know lego didn't get advance notice we can see EXACTLY how long it took to get a set with him on shelves, but as he isn't comparable to Baby Yoda, I assume they didn't exactly rush to get a lego Jeff out when they saw he was like fairly popular online. I've been crying out into the void for a Luna Snow minifigure for a bit now, but Squirrel girl and Magik would also be great choices. (I would have brought up Magik more before as she might be my favorite of that part of the cast as she's like if you gave Dr. Strange portals but only to hell to a russian chic with a gargantuan sword- but I figure Luna's the most likely since she's one of the game mascots so to speak.) I do think it's fairly likely too since they can just put her in a set that also contains mechs and oversized stud shooters. -
LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yup. Way, way back in the day, before I was even on here, I was one of the people asking for more clones. I won't deny my favorite era is the OT, but that's not to say I don't love the republic, and regardless, I also can step back and recognize that the best move is balance, not "the stuff I specifically want dominates the line". The most pressing issue and easiest fix to all of this is just that we stop sacrificing half our playset shelf space to 18+ gimmick sets, but I want to pick the fight I can win. Those 18+ sets do numbers with people who wouldn't normally buy playsets. But with the clone sets this year, on the other hand, I think they're overplaying their cards and the dilution should really show up in force. To be fair, I'd argue neither sequel faction should get the same coverage as the empire/rebels/republic. The support just isn't there yet. It needs a Clone Wars to save it like the clone wars saved the prequels. Especially since with how young kids get on the internet now, only people who watched the sequels as young kids are going to form opinions not influenced by the dominant online opinion (one that I share, but a clouding factor nontheless.) I've outlined my proposal before, but it stems something like this: Roughly 75% of sets are playsets and 25% 18+. Out of that 75%, 1/3 of the sets are based on the original trilogy, with some overlap from related areas like Mando and RO. (I could see an AT-ACT counting here for instance, but not something like a Jyn Erso Mech.) 1/3 of the sets are based on the prequel trilogy or Clone Wars. 1/3 of the sets are based on other content: the Mandoverse (at least what of it that doesn't overlap with the OT) or sequels, as well as the occasional set from other shows. The ratios wouldn't be 1-1-1: if there happened to be 8 OT sets, 11 PT sets, and 7 "Other" sets, it wouldn't be cause for alarm- but ideally any significant swings would be noticed and curbed in the idea phase before actual sets are designed and produced. In a year with new content, a new show gets 0-3 sets depending on the size and compatibility with the lego audience. A new movie gets a wave, ideally one added on to whatever the standard number of playsets is. In both cases, the ratio could acceptably skew significantly due to said new content. I agree, the more I look at it while it does have issues like the engines (which is an issue for me, not sure how they downgraded the look despite the engines being the same size and nearly a decade later), overall it's a much better job at downsizing than many other recent sets. I can understand people wanting a larger one at a higher price point, but for the $70 they're asking, I don't have a problem. A $1000 set, I'd be annoyed if they spent the resources that went into that and didn't design it for a shelf life as long as something like the 17 falcon or 08 death star. -
Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I would be surprised if a Jeff was not currently being fast-tracked intro production. They did Baby Groot twice in a super small timespan so they clearly anticipate demand for cutesy buildable. Now that Jeff has wider recognition I'm sure they're sprinting to get that done. (And if it's all they do it'd be the second time that a very popular video game in a disney IP was launched and lego responded with a buildable version of the cutesy mascot but no playsets. But given rivals is massively popular in the mainstream, not just well received, and that lego's done video game marvel designs for games that ended up being a LOT less popular, I wouldn't be shocked if 2026 or 2027 brought some rivals minifigure designs to the comic based sets, or our first version of characters elevated by rivals like Jeff, Luna Snow, Squirrel Girl, etc.) I admire your persistence. I dunno. I can't remember if the busts are 18+ or not. If they aren't, no way. If they are, I suppose given the bugle's designer statement it can't be ruled out that a comic version could be made, though currently it seems like the figures are probably re-uses and these busts are just more low-budget 18+ line stuffers, so in a deeply sad twist deadpool could be ruled out not by his maturity but by lego refusing to open their wallet a bit. That's fair, although at the same time I think the MCU designs tend to be a lot more detailed and as such stuff like missing leg printing stands out more. A lot of classic comic versions wouldn't need leg printing, just dual molding for boots, and it's not like a lack of dual molded boots is new for marvel. "Origins" back from when it was just spider-man. Those would be good choices too- I was trying not to just make all the exclusive figs daredevil characters. But I think Bullseye and Electra would be good choices. I almost wonder if they'll save deadpool for a riskier D2C like a collection of more obscure locations (Midnight Mission, Nelson and Murdock, Heroes for Hire, etc) or Genosha just because I think he has the most set-selling power out of any possible lego marvel minifigure they could make right now. (Very minor spoilers for the first scene in born again are typed in white below, if you highlight the line you can read them, I couldn't figure out how to do the spoiler tags post update or @Agent Kallus's upside down text thing) Start And after that first scene in Born Again we aren't seeing Bullseye in anything less than an 18+ set, if that, ever. Him clearly not being a match for suited up DD and getting the bricks kicked out of him, yet still using any second of daredevil being off him or any distance from him gained to murder another civilian was the most chilling thing I've ever seen in superhero media. It's an example of how absurd this year is. I'm not saying it's some sort of written rule, you're obfuscating the issue. The fact that this is the first year either ever or since 2000 without imperial troopers in a playset is a big deal. As is the fact that this will be the first year, Interesting point that "night troopers are (basically) stormtroopers". By this logic, in august 2025 we'll have had 4 battle packs of the same figure released over the course of two and a half years. After all, just like night troopers are the same as stormtroopers, all clone troopers are the same, right? All it is is a difference in some colors on the armor For that matter, we don't need galactic marines. If kids want them, they can just get snowtroopers, since they're the same. (This might be a bit blunt, but to be fair so were you. Point being, any kid over the age of 8 can see that stormtroopers usually don't have red cloth, gold cracks, and grey plating all over them.) And as I've mentioned in at least one previous post, my stormtrooper/imperial trooper point is being used to illustrate how uncommon and absurd it is that there are ZERO OT playsets this year. Depending on whether or not you count the rebel scout speeder (I personally would, battle packs never have canon builds), this is either the first or second time ever, in the history of the theme, that that's happened. Yeah that's absolutely fair as well, it's a mix of factors. You want to keep something like the X-wing or TIE affordable but you also don't want your expensive sets to be stuff like the Justifier that no one recognizes. My guess is people were upset when the change was first made and are just moving off inertia and the fact that the rebel pilot helmet change was scrapped. But lego clearly won't be changing the stormtrooper helmet over fan feedback. I hope so but doubt it. Andor doesn't seem like it's gonna have any big marketable surprises- the most I can see in that regard is the Avenger, which I would assume lego knew about when making the U-wing set. Thank you. It's not like I'm saying "we've had the THX-1138 paycheck destroyer with glup shitto minifigure every 7.32 waves and this is the first year it's missing". This is a 25 year trend that also feels like a pretty basic checkmark (any form of the bad guy foot soldiers shown onscreen in the core trilogy) that best case scenario will only be fulfilled by one guy plopped into an advent calendar. (And even then I would not at all be surprised if that was missing. While some form of OT imperial foot soldier used to be more or less guaranteed, 2023 and 2024 both didn't have them.) -

Nope, no bad batch- haven't had anything since 2022 or not based on season 1, actually. Oh, you mean the magazine foil pack of the mandalorian character? Sure. Fine. There are still no OT imperial troopers in playsets this year, but yes, an armored character affiliated with the empire appears in a region-locked magazine. Yes. You cannot upload leaked images but there's no issue discussing leaked information. Most of the stuff this year is evergreen. We got plenty of clone sets the last few years. This year has THREE playsets based on "current stuff"- the Andor set, Ahsoka set, and RTG set. None of the clone sets- which comprise the vast majority of the year's sets- are based on new content. Sort of, it's weird. There's a Blade of Dorin Microfighter but that's the only thing we know 100% for sure is an ROTS (or at least something like the ARC-170 where it fits both ROTS and TCW) set. Other sets that are connected but not necessarily 1:1 ROTS include: Probable UT-AT: There's a $150, 830 piece set coming with Ki-Adi, Bacara, and the Galactic Marines. Initially rumored to be a UT-AT, there are rumors this may instead be an RFT, although personally I assume it's just them calling the UT-AT a republic tank to generalize the term like lego enjoys doing. 327th battle pack: Rumored to include an AT-RT, which wasn't present onscreen in ROTS on felucia, but c'mon. It's a battle pack. The figs are ROTS figs. MTT: The MTTs do not appear in CIS coloration in ROTS, so it's not an ROTS set, but it does include Aalya and Bly to go along with the 327th pack so it bears mentioning. All in all it's looking like ROTS is getting a better anniversary playset wise than any other recent anniversary, with the possible exception of 2023 if you want to count the "clone wars anniversary" for the clone wars as a concept/era rather than the 2003 microseries that received no coverage that year. As for TFA, no, no playsets at all. A few 18+ subline sets- a helmet and midi-scale shuttle I think. Yes. No one area should dominate the lineup. I agree. Currently one area is dominating the lineup this year. I also agree that the larger issue is the massive amount of 18+ sets. I think under the constraint of half the sets being 18+ lego should have had more playset variety, at least ONE playset based on what is literally the core trilogy of star wars, but yeah, if we replaced half the 18+ sets with some OT and TFA stuff 2025 would look much better as a year. If it's the guy from the trailer the Lex head might actually not fit terribly poorly, unlike most people it's used for, which is really funny that they chose their other generic one-sided white guy head instead. I think it's possible it could fit the entire crew of six. Obviously only one pilot can sit on top (For $70 I wouldn't expect them to get it to fit two, to be fair), but then I think there are four seats below, and it looks like at least one side has room for Baze and Bodhi's backpacks. The only issue is K2. It appears that there's a row of studs behind the backwards-facing seats in the image where he could be placed. He'll likely have to lean over at the waist, but I think you could fit him in there. I would also bring up that the 2016 model, while having more accurately opening doors, is notoriously difficult to fit figures in the underside of. With the pintle guns present you're hard-pressed to get even 4 guys below while closing the doors, and even removing them, your max is going to be one pilot and 5 below, and you'll have to remove Baze and Bodhi's backpacks. -

I think I'm reading this comment wrong: We have one unhelmeted stormtrooper variant in the Andor set. No stormtroopers in mando playsets this year- only one mando playset, actually, IIRC, and no imperials in it. There are no bad batch sets this year. Not sure what you mean by the imperial commando polybag. The closest I can think of is the Shadow ARF about 15 years ago, which was a clone trooper? Definitely not too early to call, we've had the list leak already and there are no OT playsets this year. Sure. That one is a good point. There are still some OT sets in stock. But nobody's saying that's not the case. -

Sure, but I really don't think it's necessary. We've had them printed on before. As for the rest, I don't know why that'd mean anything for the comic variants specifically. Marvel characters never get all the dual molding or printing they need I don't see why that matters specifically for the comic based versions. Maybe eventually (Though we've only ever had one Bugle and have technically had an oscorp before), but having a $130 oscorp on shelves this summer kind of deconfirms oscorp for 2025 and likely 2026. As for the figure count, between the 6 new characters/characters with new prints the bugle had and the 9 part-re-used civilians, not to mention the characters that would already be repeated (Invariably Spider-Man, Venom, and Green Goblin) and characters they could pull from existing sets, I think we could have had a solid setup. Using the same new print budget as the bugle, we could have something like: 6 New: Kaine, Scarlet Spider, Moon Knight, Electro, Lizard, Norman (goblinized face on one side of his head) 9 Re-used from civilian parts: Wilson Fisk, Harry Osborn, Liz Allen, Flash Thompson, Ned Leeds, 2x Oscorp Scientist (Miles and Otto or something I dunno), 2x Oscorp Security 9 Re-used from other sets: Anti-Venom, Hobgoblin, Spot, Morbius, Julia Carpenter, Spider-Man, Venom, Mary Jane Watson, Green Goblin That's a total of only one figure less than the bugle with the same number of new prints. Yup. For all the issues about marvel, DC is a hollow shell of it's former self. I think it's annoying that they gave the most recent mech the Insomniac logo but the figure's still the same. I do think Insomniac or Rivals would both be good new options. -

You gotta let this one go. It's been 6 years. The accident wasn't your fault. (But in all seriousness, they aren't changing back. The rebel pilot helmet turned after one set- it's pretty clear the family guy helmets are here to stay.) Sure. That's fair. If they drop a stormie or something in the AC, while it'll still be insane that there isn't a single OT playset, at least we won't have broken the 25 year imperial trooper streak. Yup. I would be tempted to agree with this argument if not for two major points: 1. The OT is what started it all, it's still the most iconic part of the franchise. The people who don't really know star wars still know Vader/Stormtrooper/Yoda/Luke. 2. It's not like this year has no OT playsets because there's just so much variety. We aren't getting a single playset for two of the three trilogies. This isn't "there's just so much content to cover" it's "one specific faction is dominating the year" I mean Rogue One and solo contained fairly large numbers of identical costumes- officers, TIE pilots, stormtroopers, AT-ST drivers, etc. Night Troopers/Hat Stormtrooper weren't designs in the OT and don't really look like standard units either. -
I'm impressed that you're keeping this updated, you've made a lot of great designs. Keep it up!

DC's big win of the past few years is that we finally got Superman back in a set instead of just batman and jokers. Superman. Imagine if marvel got to such a sorry state that everyone cheered over seeing Iron Man show up in a set. Same. We've had this one for nearly as long as the Ultimate version. After the Worldwide suit was only used for a couple years I was hopeful we'd start swapping the design every now and then, but we're in year 5 of the current design. -

I was initially just going to say it's the first year since 2018 with no retail releases of imperial stormtroopers (With a grey area for 2022) but while I was researching to confirm I found out about that, I realized it was the first year ever without any OT imperial troopers (or first since 2000 if you don't count the minifig pack) and included that broadened statistic. In my view the night troopers and shield guys don't count because they're incredibly specialized units (I could end up being wrong on the unhelmeted ones). If we got normal death, shore, shock, etc troopers I would have been more lenient. As for the $1000 death star coming with stormtroopers, that means nothing as far as general availability on shelves (I specify retail in my thing, but really even if this was availible at Walmart I'd feel the same.) Precious few children are going to get the $1000 death star. For any person who is spending $1k on a lego star wars set, I hope to GOD they know what bricklink is at that point. My point is, this isn't like some sneaky wording to deliberately obfuscate the issue- the reason there's no OT imperial troopers in playsets this year is because there are no OT playsets this year. I think that really is a big deal. I guess I can see that point of view, but I still feel like the standard TIE is more well known. That said, from the perspective that they knew the theme would be going on for some time, I can understand not wanting to dump out the three most iconic ships in the same year. This is why I'm withholding judgement, it was just about the worst angle it could leak at. At least if it was the underside of the ship or something most people would agree there's not enough to make a judgement off of. And they just gave them to Thrawn too. I have to assume creating a new leg print is at least roughly equivalent to the cost of using an in-production set of dual molded legs, so I wonder why they made that choice. (I don't wonder why they aren't factoring in the ugliness of printing light colors on dark ones, though. At this point we can pretty confidently say the figure designers are deep in "everything is fine" land with those printing issues.) -

Alright. We'll put aside that I wouldn't count a minifigure pack as even remotely close to a $1000 set. So sure. Instead of the first ever, it's the first time since the second year of the theme, a quarter century ago, when it was just starting out. Yeah I think they would both have been good choices. and if they didn't want to use the U-wing on a $100+ slot anytime soon I think this is fine.
