  1. I personally think that, like the helmets for SW, while mosaics aren't necessarily the greatest thing I would have wanted from the theme, they do show as you say that Afols are getting more attention from lego, and I'll buy at least some of it ito support Afol-catering lines. I was just confused as someone said it wasn't mosaics when we first learnt zebra was coming.
  2. Well despite @GeneralNumberOne's prophisations of doom for this brand (along with ninjago, mario, star wars, lego as a whole, and, understandably, minions), I think it'll do pretty well especially with sets based off the next batman. The car, batsuit, and cycle all look pretty cool, and if there's a cheap set with batsuit or the batmobile is $30 or less I might make my first lego DC purchase in awhile. Seriously, the batman designs look AMAZING so far, if they transfer well into lego I'll need to pick up at LEAST the batmobile and figure.
  3. I don't understand your logic here. People would be disappointed, but postponing the disappointment doesn't really help them as A: if this forum is any evidence everyone hates this theme already anyway B: As I said, they don't really gain anything by hiding it, as we'd HAVE to know if minifigures are in the sets at some point before the actual release, no one's going to buy one of these thinking that because lego didn't officially confirm no minifigures that they'll appear in the box somehow. Also, from @Falconfan1414 we now know he was referring to mario only coming in the $60 set. @GeneralNumberOne, the lego mario is apparently able to read rfid stickers in such a way that children can do it by slamming the mario on them, has some sort of colour sensor, etc. Combined with said RFID stickers and the large amounts of large pieces, I'd say it's worth $60 in the sense that it's the same amount of profit they make off of it as the average $60 set or something. Not neccesarily worth $60 in the sense that i'd buy it, but it is a cool idea and one lots of children will like.
  4. Huh. I thought back in the early days of knowing "zebra" was coming, mosiacs were one of the first things ruled out.
  5. That looks great! He's on the Mario thread too, maybe more.
  6. I saw your more recent post, and I'm sorry about that, but I just wanted to mention that you don't have to worry about lego losing the star wars license. The theme's selling really well, and lego can afford to take a hit on mario. Yeah, I don't know if the virus scare is getting to them, but some of these are hilariously stupid comments. I think we'll see minifigure sets. There's no reason for the guy in the interview to say he can't say if they're not coming, and some of the sets have a ppp of a normal set. (compared to the ones with insane ppps probably containing the RFID stickers, mario fig, or just those large parts like the pipe and those big rounded square parts that are two plates tall.
  7. I feel like this is a bit pessimistic, it's not the end of the world. We'll see a few delays, maybe some films film in different locations, but I doubt that the virus will cause permanent travel and trade restrictions, nor will it kill off the lego designers. Worst case scenerio lego speaking, the spring/summer sets that weren't already released might get delayed. I don't think anything's really going to be impacted set-wise other than that. And film wise, black widow could be delayed and maybe a few of the other films, but we only know that some of the productions have shut down, and I don't think we know which ones or how many. Cool. I'm probably only getting the stormtrooper and maybe iron man busts though, I can't see the hulk one looking that good. I remember that, it's definitely not a mosiac.
  8. I feel like this might be the slightest exaggeration, they're a pretty big company. They can afford to have some lines of products fail.
  9. Agreed to all of these, some people just want to complain. And based on how he's changed his comment and title to ".", I guess he agrees?
  10. I wasn't saying he's unreliable, quite to the contrary, just that nothing is ever 100% confirmed until lego confirms it themselves. Especially now.
  11. True. We don't know exactly what's happening until lego officially announces it. For all we know, these could be $50, or (shudder) $100. Most likely it's what our reliable leakers have told us, but until lego officially gives a statement, we don't 100% know anything.
  12. It was just a rumor I read, I didn't say I thought it was a good idea.
  13. Reading the actual interview, he says a few times, once specifically in regards to minifigures, that he can't give out information at this time. This reads at least to me as to one of two options. There will be minifigures, but he can't say because they haven't been announced yet. There won't be minifigures and he can't say because they don't want to upset the fans or something. Personally I'm inclined to believe the former as it really doesn't seem like we saw all 13 of those sets with the weird mario thing, if you look at set numbers some are pretty close to $.1 Price per part and some are REALLY far off, and I can't think of a good reason for why they wouldn't let people say minifigures aren't coming if they aren't.
  14. As for the rebel ground support, it makes sens they don't have many tanks, they're by design slow, cumbersome, and not something suited to a rebellion that has to be constantly on the move. I love the battle packs, especially the MT-7 getting some love. Reminds me of the MLC-3 tank MOC I made awhile back.
  15. If production continues as normal, I think it'll be interesting to see if they push back the sets. They also MIGHT release black widow on disney+ (with an additional fee or something). I'm no expert, but I've seen that floating around as a possibility. However, it's possible things will be back to normal by may, so it might not even get delayed.
  16. You are incorrect. We need dexter jettser's bust, or a UCS gonk droid, or the super-mega-ultra-501st battle pack.
  17. Yup, we did, i forgot the august wave. And i was meaning more the first rogue one wave, although you bring up a good point about that at-st. (I also can't imagine many people disliked rogue one, it was more meant to explain that depending on your opinion not every wave will appeal to you.) oops, forgot about that. I thought we only had solo, january, and the wave of brickheadz that came out about the same time as cloud city and the porg. Surprised I forgot, that x-wing was my favorite set in recent memory (helmets aside). That is disappointing then.
  18. As do I, I think @Ultron's gripe is that we've gotten so many of it. I don't really mind, it's only been two years and we've had a variety of other spider-men and women coming in the same sets, so it's not like we're lacking variety. That or he's just salty about sokovia, and that meteor plan of his.
  19. @Markalus brings a few excellent points to this, which I'll repeat. 1. Why would you have to be 17 to watch ANH? Most people I know saw it as kids, and are definitely still working age. 2. I'm not sure how it is in Croatia, but there are a MASSIVE amount of americans that are 60 or above. I believe about 1/5th of the population. And life expectancy is well over 60, so I'm not sure where this "if even alive" came from. 3. I'm not sure where you work, but it's commonplace for lots of people with desk jobs to put display pieces like these on their tables. 4. (in relation to your quote above). The majority of SW fans like the OT the most, and it's generally been the most well received. (the prequels having massive problems with dialogue, acting, visual effects, etc, and the sequels having their plot problems and...whatever canto bight was). Therefore, these sets have appeal to the majority of star wars fans, instead of a FO stormtrooper or a P2 clone. My point is, the way the demographics work out, you can easily tell who lego is trying to target here. It's apparently not you, but the 4+ sets aren't targeting you either. And as I've mentioned, we had a wave of no system-scale sets back in 2018. In fact, it's a similar situation, except the april and "summer" waves are swapped. 2018 only had 2 system scale waves, same is this year. We're not getting "robbed" a wave of sets, it's the same as people who don't like brickheadz that year, or (besides the AT-AT) people who don't like the PT this summer. People who hate the sequels probably didn't like those 3 waves of sequel-only sets, and those who disliked rogue one probably weren't happy with that wave. There's a difference between personally not liking something, like , or deciding that the existence of these sets are terrible. As @ARC2149Nova says, lego can't make sets that appeal to everyone. To me, it sounds like this year is pretty diverse. Wave with representation from all three trilogies, but having mainly sequel sets and smaller play-focused sets in january, OT-focused wave aimed at adults in april, PT focused wave that has both a clone army builder and multiple other TCW sets, but also another AT-AT and the Night Buzzard, so once again representation from all trilogies. We even have more Mando sets coming!
  20. Thank you! There's alot of people that decide that any wave not specifically appealing to them is an affront to the lego brand. Grievous's helmet would be so cool to see as a set. I like that they're starting out with ESB sets for the 40th, but agree that this isn't what the majority of AFOLS want. And I think it's because they're not trying to appeal specifically to AFOLS, but just adults in general. People who might not buy legos normally, but remember the OT from their youth, and will buy the helmet to put on their desk or something. You have to remember that the OT is the overall most popular (and I think almost certainly the best) trilogy of films, so the majority of sets based for adults in general will be for that. With the prequel kids growing up and seeing those films through the lens of nostolgia, we'll probably see more prequel UCS sets soon, like the gunship. Eventually we'll see more sequel UCS, or high republic (if it gets films), or what have you as the generations that grew up with those films become adults.
  21. Yes, probably, unless a game comic shows it off or something. he had the same suit from 2012-2018, so using the same suit for two years isn't a downgrade.
  22. Hahaha, I wish i picked up on that earlier. Same here. I need a waluigi figure, just for the sheer irony. He may not have been a smash fighter, but at least he'll hopefully get a lego figure. I also recommend checking out the "waluonicle" i forgot who made it but searching the term gets you images of it. I'm sure someone's picked up on the fact that mario has electronic elements and what appears to be some sort of charging port on the bottom. If the yellow buttons are 2x2s round tiles or just molds instead of 1x1s, this could be some weird tie-in and (hopefully) not the real mario figure. Because I'll be very happy with normal minifigures and fine with licensed heads, but not that monstrosity.
  23. I would hope so, that helmet is far superior to the old one. As @BigGuy4U says, they could also reveal it later. I don't think we 100% will know when it's confirmed to have been cancelled until april 15th comes and passes without the set coming out Thanks! I updated my post to get the brickheadz date right.
  24. My problem is the price, and to be honest I don't really care about hulk either. All I want is the chitauri leviathon and rescue, but since that's what everyone else wants, too, (plus nano-gauntlet), it's hard to find on bricklink.
  25. i mean, they don't exactly bar people under 18 from buying them. I think it's more of an interest thing, they're appealing to people who were around when The Empire Strikes Back came out, at least partially. And that's why lego didn't make the boba fett and stormtrooper that detailed.
