  1. You actually got the figure packs? They aren't available online, though I guess delaying them this late in the game means some will make it to stores. Bought 3 snowtrooper packs, looking to snatch a fourth from amazon or target now that I've got the lot limit from lego.com.
  2. Nice! I'll do you one better: my only experience with the word "mortar" at that point was from clash of clans, so I thought there was a type of store selling literal bricks and mortars. Yup, with no explanation. What the megablock is going on at lego HQ? These are the 4th and 5th sets in the past month to be delayed, not to mention all the packaging and instruction issues they've been having recently, and even cancelled sets like the santa's living room.
  3. And here...we...go! Snagged 3 snowtrooper packs (damn quantity limits, it's usually 5), and it's not up on target or amazon yet so I'll be waiting at least until later today to buy my 4th. The VIP points from the AT-AT alone made more order of 3 just about $10 though, which was nice. No accessory packs, which sucks, don't delay stuff the day it's supposed to release.
  4. Check the ol # on instagram, some fella got ahold of both yesterday. It's an especially weird decision since it's probably going to be the most popular set (I would say the RC microfighter for mando, but it's not exactly hard to get hold of that figure anyways...). You fellas always seem to get the short end of the stick in upside-down-land, it's got to be rough. I'm just gonna check it right after midnight and then wake myself up at 6am and hope for the best, I'm planning on snagging 4 battlepacks and maybe a spider-man set if I'm close to a threshold.
  5. To be fair, the complaints are that we keep getting the same venom figure. A Raimi Venom figure would be AWESOME.
  6. That's what I'll be doing. Do we know if Luke throws the detonator into the body of the AT-AT? Chucking one through the surface hatch into the internal mechanisms seems like it'd have roughly the same effect.
  7. Darn, I was hoping Dagobah would be the cheaper one. It was looking like an instant buy to complete my ESB display, but that'd be like $90.... I'll have to wait and see if it looks like it's worth the money.
  8. Concerning Fennec in sets, I think they'll let her be in a lot of sets rather than restricting her to only the more expensive ones. She is a central character to this show and is being promoted nearly as heavily as boba himself. Most disney+ shows so far have had two main characters, and Fennec is the Grogu to boba's mando, the Kate Bishop to his Hawkeye, the Vision to his Wanda, the Winter Soldier to his Falcon, etc. And given how heavily she's featured in posters and such, I don't see her being relegated to more expensive sets. I don't think she'll be as plentiful as beskar mando, but I could see it being a situation similar to baby yoda, where she starts out in a more expensive set (razor crest/arquitens) before being put in cheaper sets half a year later (ToT/palace/$60 set).
  9. Sure, but you can't act like the first episode is completely disconnected from the rest of the show. Like you say with the mando sets, it's likely there will be figures in the sets from across the show, but you can't act like it's premature to speculate about boba's palace sets or something because they were in the first episode.
  10. March 1 if i remember correctly, no pictures, and the rumors are: Boba and fennec (obviously), the two guards (I'm guessing we get a new head mold or sandwich board part), and two...I think they were called "scoundrels" or "bounty hunters", not sure.
  11. you never know with leaks. AFAIK they're releasing march-may 2021, and since we already have descriptions I'd guess we won't see images until a month or two before release. I finished the AT-AT, get ready for my obnoxiously long comments about it, which I'll put in a spoiler for no other reason than the amount of space they take up:
  12. Bought myself the AT-AT, which took about 10 hours to build. From people who are not me, I got the advent calendar and mandalore throne for Christmas.
  13. I think I've mentioned this countless times here, but I haven't bought a marvel set in two years, and a statue of liberty battle or tobey set would bring my wallet back to them. I wasn't even alive for the first spider-man, but I would 100% buy sets based off the Raimi films, and a statue of liberty battle no matter how much it costs (after a third viewing I mantain that NWH is the best marvel film)
  14. It's spelled utinni, stop appropriating jawa culture! Everytime I look at this, I see more details I missed last time. The saw blade, the thermal detonators, the pistols used as greebles in the feet, the engine used in the arm, etc!
  15. That's very impressive, it's very detailed and weaponized. Lore question, did the jawas build it for him?
  16. Remind me again which source said this was coming? I can't find it on childish landino, fulcrum, or falconfan's instagram pages, and clearly jdubbs is skeptical. Did I just not go back far enough in their post history, or is there a reliable source I'm missing? Are you implying that you have information on this, or just saying you trust the source that much? Yup, and even formerly reliable guys can be misled. Sirvonlego with the v-19 torrent and stuff, or in a different area, a very reliable leaker swore up and down a character would appear in the wandavision show, and they never did.
  17. She defeated Doc Ock though, she's super important! She would show up in that set instead of raimi's goblin, not only would it require less new prints than a goblin (and they can avoid that particular criticism, since they'd use the ant-man helmet mold or the invincible iron man mold), but lego tends to like to put those types of figures in these sets instead of more important characters (think of the NWH firefighter). Assumedly such a set, needing a car and some bridge, would be big enough to have 4 figures, since even though goblin is preferable, it's always nice to have some civilians to save. Maybe even a Peter? I'm sure we'll have a statue of liberty fight, even if it's a year or so away. Lego is not going to pass up on that opportunity, it'd be like no baby yoda figures or no endgame final battle set. I think the ranking of figures goes: Guaranteed (if we get the set): Peter 1, Peter 2, Peter 3, Goblin, Electro, a brick-built sandman. Likely, but could be cut for more space: Lizard, with doc ock only slightly less likely than him Depends on size of set (from most to least likely): MJ, Ned, Strange, Sandman minifigure. It's been two years since the last marvel set I bought, but I'd get a statue of liberty battle INSTANTLY. I bought the integrated suit and the standard 2021 suit (to use the arms and legs for andrew) the second I got back from watching the film, and if the Raimi suit wasn't literally $100 I'd get that too. Overall comments on the sets: The polybag is nice, since I wasn't gonna get the 4+ set I'll pick this up for the excellent Ditko suit. Not a fan of the mech subtheme, but I do like that ironman one. The larger Ironman is terrible and feels like a slap in the face as a bionicle fan to see that this is how far constraction has fallen. Dr strange set is nice, since it's something from the movie and not a random vehicle, but I'll have to wait until I see the movie to see if I want the set (While I like doctor strange and wong, I don't know much about tentacle droidika, and America Chavez is quite possibly my least favorite character in the comics, though it's possible the actress will be great in the film and change my opinion)
  18. Selling the promo (Idk if it's still there): I know the skywalker saber went for alot and while the tatooine homestead is currently only around $20, if it's anything like the others it'll trend up to $60-70 after release (I sold a used endor one in 2020 for $70) can offset the cost a little bit, and the VIP points are a lot too, though of course in that case you're still spending that much money, it's just that you'll get other sets cheaper. I know it's not much, but every bit helps, right? I sold my death star for this, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it, but you're right that it's gonna take up a lot of space. It's better than the cantina or gunship in that it's easier to fit on a shelf, but it's by no means easy. The box is currently taking up half my desk, I'm trying with all my willpower to wait to open it until Christmas.
  19. Just got mine today. Not waiting until christmas exactly, but at least until my school is finished. I know if I open that box, I will do no studying for finals until the AT-AT is complete. (Plus, today I see No Way Home)
  20. If I remember correctly they pretty much just say it outright, it's not like it'd be some big scandal.
  21. ....what? "Threatening" sounds a bit weird, it's pretty obvious economics that if the gunship UCS doesn't sell well, it doesn't make sense to follow up with more prequel UCS. Luckily it seems the gunship is selling fine, so that won't be the case anyway, but it's not like they're going "Mwahaha we're going to deny you of your legal right to prequel UCS if you don't buy a million gunships, we're maniacal designers and hate our fans"
  22. That is indeed kylo ren, I suppose. A nice purist custom, though I'm not sure when this would be in the timeline.
  23. To be honest I didn't think it was a tie-in but said so in case people went "hey that's not fair, the pack is only there as a tie-in!!!". Ironically I'm getting the opposite complaint. It seems unfair to count the rest of the year for the OT but not the PT, given that most of the other sets are completely unknown, and "a character they didn't vote for"...what do you mean by that at all? I'm pretty sure the fan-vote character was the most voted, I doubt that MandR managed to entirely sway it to jar jar like he tried too. As said above, I only said gunship tie-in as I assumed if I didn't people would say I was being unfair and that the set only released because it was a tie in. The OT is nearly 45 years old, yes, and yet with the possible exception of the mandalorian it's still by far the most popular area of SW. As for the dioramas, we know that lego likes to test things with the OT due to sales before experimenting with other eras (and with the UCS gunship and mando helmet, we see that they're willing to test into those eras) I definately like the current layout of a smaller and more experimental in terms of set design 1hy focused on the OT with a larger 2hy more varied with eras and mainly comprising standard sets. I also think it's an important distinction that "new stuff" and OT are not mutually exclusive. This is our first trash compactor set under $400 coming, and there are still some big OT things that have either never released or it's been so long that they might as well not exist (try to tell me the only official system interceptor and bomber are fine as interpretations go). I want sets from all eras (I think I have about 8000 posts mentioning my desire for a new AT-TE, and I haven't been quiet about wanting a UCS black one either), but I like the current method they have in terms of when they release sets from those eras. I think you could count slave one in this scale, and I do hope we get a b-wing and some other TIES in this scale as well.
  24. These all seem totally likely to me, I think an echo base, AT-TE, and an Endor MBS are almost certain. (don't come kill me if they aren't in it!) Just some random thoughts: I'd like a slave one around the size and detail of the newer falcons. I want one to have an interior besides the cockpit, and that seems do-able at a $160-ish pricepoint. I really hope we get an AT-TE sometime soon, like I said earlier. I'm making my own at this point anyway, but an official one will probably be cheaper all things considered. I do not like most anime, and some of the visions episodes were the first star wars for me that was so bad I stopped mid-viewing. (I did like the duel but that was more for the classic western/samurai influence), but the Ninth Jedi episode enthralled me, and with rumors of a full series for it coming, I hope we at least get Kara, Ethan, and that sick mech suit of the sort of light side palpatine. And another weekly update/tease, this time coming with a warning: when I reveal my moc wave, just keep in mind that boga would ideally use the bird head element were he an official set (the one they use in those harry potter sets for the dragons and snake dragon thing), but since that element is not in stud.io, I made a....poorly built head mockup. I have four to five sets left depending on if I make any cuts or additions, but as-is I'm hopefully on track to finish by christmas, since with school letting out I should ideally be able to crank out one per day, setting aside a few days for repeated spider-man viewings. As always, image in spoiler as to not clutter the page:
