  1. Yeah. Don't know what that's about. Though you are forgetting the 2023 DC winter wave... right? right? The mouth uses a 1x2 semicircle jumper plate in reddish brown, which is coincidentally what I needed for a MOC I just finished. I see this as an absolute win. I dunno. I think the simplicity of the brickheadz style makes the humans look fine, kinda like Funkos. That said, you can get more detail on helmeted characters for sure.
  2. I prefer the Milano, but I'd rather this than just another ravager bird. This movie's gonna make me cry, isn't it? That trailer clearly hints at (to the extent I'd almost consider the trailer a spoiler) the death of at least one guardian. (I won't say who, but it should be obvious who the trailer's hinting at killing). I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the only OG member to survive was Quill, or Quill and Groot.
  3. It's definately miles's car (see: the spider eyes), but "Lego wants you to run over Miles and give the car to morbius" may displace automorbile for the best comment on this thread. (Sorry, @PGBQW) I agree with your sentiments (if not your ratings. Too generous to the mechs and hulkbuster, and the Morbius set is unironically an 8/10 minimum IMO. At least the stupid vehicle actually looks kinda sic). I will say between the hulkbuster and quinjet my wallet is looking at me suspiciously. both great sets, but the Hulkbuster's overpriced and the quinjet, while good value, is still pretty expensive. Good news: They won't. Look at the feet for Rocket and GR. Anyway, massive news I don't think anyone's picked up on.... THE HULKBUSTER HAS KNEE ARTICULATION. Based on the design you should be able to hinge them, with the clips in the back providing the angle and the mechanical arm to 1x1 plate with bar connections providing extra friction.
  4. I'm almost sure now that it's a stud with a 1x1 round tile on top. I think I can see it, and I can't see why they'd make a new piece. I didn't realize there was a person alive who hadn't seen Morbius. Ah, that sucks. I'm glad the gauntlet is full (I've already got one, but it's nice for people who don't), but the ninjago core limb usage is terrible. Removes articulation and overall just looks worse. Spiders also have fangs, though. Add that to the 4 headlights shaped like spider eyes, and I think it was always a milesmobile. So he can drive the desert to talk to vulture about something to do with spider-man, I think. Intriguing. Regarding the mechs: Hulk Mech: 4/10. Could have been something. Could have been banner in a mech that looked like hulk, or a bigfig in a small exo-suit. Instead it's a hulk minifig in a pretty generic mech, that's even worse than normal due to the ninjago limbs. Rocket Mech: 5.5/10. Could have been a groot mech. I like the gun arm, and I like the new rocket, which is why it's higher than the hulk one. Ninjago limbs bring it down from what would be a 7 or maybe 8. Thanos Mech: 6.5/10. Ninjago limbs bring it down from what could have been as much as 9/10. Double sided sword, nice shoulders, full gauntlet. Only issue is the... you guessed it... ninjago limbs.
  5. It doesn't matter, Quantumania was moved up. The issue is that the set may not have been as far along as production as it would need to be for a Jan 1 release.
  6. Here are my thoughts: Miles Morales vs Morbius: 9 Morbillion out of 10. Incredible. The design is. The figures are. The packaging is. The printing is. Jokes aside, it is a good set. It's a pretty solid car design, and something I'll be mocing into a normal (but sic) car. I'll use the crystal blade for a bionicle figure, and the figures are excellent. I don't have a miles yet, and Morbius is of course excellent to have for the memes. For $25, I'll buy it day one. Ghost Rider Mech: 4/10. Disgusting. The mech is worse than a standard mech, the bike is awful, and there's no figure scale bike for GR. Not to mention, only one figure in a $35 set? I'll bricklink Ghost rider, and that's it. Hulkbuster: 7/10. Ooooh, I want to stop myself from buying this set. I already have a hulkbuster mk2, but this is such an excellent design. Unfortunately, the figures are awful. 2 repeat outriders, ugh. And Okoye and Bruce, while somewhat better, are just not personally characters I care about. I think I will be able to avoid buying it, unless it hits a really solid sale. EDIT: Ew, $50. That's a definate no from me dawg. Quinjet: 8.5/10. Dangit marvel! I'm already buying a ton of SW this year, plus Indiana Jones, LOTR.... but this is an excellent set. The stand is nice, the swappable decals are a nice touch, and that quinjet design is near-perfect. My only gripe is the blue windscreen. The figure count is... not perfect, but not terrible. 4/6 avengers and loki. The figures themselves have an excellent Loki, Iron Man, and Black Widow, as well as a fine Captain America and a not-great thor. (I haaate the head they've been using recently)
  7. Thanks for the bump. I've sent you a PM, I just need your email to send the files. Thanks! I'm looking forwards to making wave 2 early next year. I agree a Batgirl would have been a good choice, probably for the batcave.
  8. That reminds me, I have to buy that before it retires. I haven't collected any of these suits with the new helmets yet, but once I do, I think I'll be swapping the helmets for the original ones. I like the one-piece helmets, but I don't like the new one. Unfortunately, yes. I really hope it's different though.
  9. I'm still holding out hope for the entire 2012 lineup. I think 5 minifigs, a bigfig, and 700 parts for $100 isn't completely out of the question, even if it is a bit optimistic.
  10. Didn't think about that, but I'm not sure it'd be a huge issue. The Soviets have been gone for decades. Sort of an Empire/First Order thing. That said, lego's pretty squeamish about that stuff sometimes, so maybe they would remove them. Or make them super obviously soviet with the red star and stuff, which would be nice. Definately would be nice to have a Mac figure. Though he's not a triple agent, he was just lying about the double.
  11. I mean, it's supposedly called battle of wakanda. ....where did you hear that? I haven't heard of anything remotely like that.
  12. For some reason the commies have never been seen as as big of a nono as the nazis. Always thought it was weird, since the Soviets not only killed more people but killed decades more recently. Not that I'm advocating for lego not making commie figures (or them putting swastikas on children's toys, though more accurate nazis in other costuming ways would be nice). I don't think so. We have no indication the set was cancelled, one non-leaker (no offense @Pulp Detective) saying they might avoid the commies isn't much of a rumor in that way. I think the reason we don't know what it is is that it's either a D2C like you say, or it was just not seen by whoever saw the other three. Also love your mocs, especially stuff like the Lizard bigfig and hulkbuster.
  13. I still think the Quinjet has a shot at the full avengers lineup of that movie, but we'll see. It won't happen, but it'd be hilarious if the hulk was in the Infinity war hulkbuster set, since back in 2018 there was the trailer fake out and even fake merch of him in wakanda/breaking out of the hulkbuster.
  14. An alternate opinion? Unacceptable! Jokes aside I'd be ok with a couple sets if we got a large amount of sets for the classic trilogy as well. (Hobbit sets are fine too, though I didn't like the movies as much as the book. A CMF could be fun, with each dwarf and variants of Bilbo and Gandalf. This seems to be the case in the US as well, just from personal experience. I really don't know what they were thinking releasing them so far ahead of the new movie (or making so many sets. Both Indiana Jones and LOTR have a nostalgia/staying power that Avatar really lacked.) IIRC they were always called "soldier" or "pilot" or "guard" too, it's not like the boxes had "Nazi stormtrooper" or "KGB officer" on them.
  15. Or as @PGBQW put it, the "automorbile" Jokes aside I legitimately want to buy this set. I lost my Miles, totally want a Lego Morbius, and I mean, c'mon. A morbius car is hilarious.
  16. One thing I was thinking is that it'd be cool if they alternated LOTR and IJ. So one year/half year we get a LOTR wave, the next we get an IJ wave. It would help a few things: -Afols' wallets. That's not a joke, it's a legitimate concern. People only have so much money, and if lego does a slower flow, they could have greater sales overall, rather than if they push both themes too hard at the same time and they both fail to sell as well and are killed off. -the source material issue you mention. LOTR has more, but still not enough to do an evergreen theme realistically. (Unless they really dip into RoP, but personally I didn't like it and hope they don't do that) -Lego's own budget. Both themes would require a bevy of new prints and parts (LOTR might be more heavy in this, but if we're doing Indy right we'd need artifact molds and whatnot), and again restricting the flow could help them. Obviously with them being owned by different companies it's not like there'd be an official split theme, but it couldn't be that hard for them to do something like that. We know next year Indy is getting system sets and LOTR is getting a D2C, so all they have to do is swap it for 2024.
  17. Yup. I remember seeing that leak for the first time, and everyone thought the Airborne was cody because of how blurry it was. And what you say about the exclusives is about what I remember as well. We knew final duel was coming, just not that it was the final duel (IIRC people thought it would be exogol for awhile, but it was just speculation, no actual rumors or leaks), but the transport came out of nowhere. A Dec 1 reveal makes sense. They really have clamped down on image and description leaks this year. On the other hand, we've had names and prices for most 1hy sets in various desirable themes (Indiana Jones, LOTR, SW, Marvel, etc) for a long time now. (I mean, Rivendell was just recently, but that set could come as late as june)
  18. The set is just 65 1x6x5 panels in LBG (representing panels cosmo can telekenetically move) along with cosmo. The large pieces offset the low piece count. Of course. I was just saying they couldn't put her in the advent calendar due to not having new molds to use in those sets.
  19. I highly doubt it. Alternative builds for star wars haven't existed in non-book sets for, what, around 20 years now? Lego's able to just go "yeah, our product is in a box. Buy it."
  20. My theory is that Kevin Bacon didn't give his likeness to be used for merchandise. As for Cosmo, advent calendars have never had new molds.
  21. I've been saying it for forever: out of the two themes (maybe even LOTR too), only one will become evergreen or semi-evergreen.
  22. We need more small sets. As a kid I loved the $5 and $10 ninjago sets. Now the cheapest actual set you can generally get is $15 (aside from gimmicks like microfighters and mechs). And it's not like we've had 200% inflation over the past decade or so. This is my current plan as well.
  23. No, you're right. They do make sets for adults now besides UCS. Some diorama type sets would definately work within their wheelhouse.
  24. For me, Indy 5 and Lotr returning is enough to bankrupt me. We already know about some great SW and marvel sets coming (501st battle pack, GOTG3 ship, final duel diorama, lego morbius), so a $500 Minas Tirith or something is going to make me have to sell my kidney. I mean, it makes sense. Indy 5 and avatar both have new movies coming out, which is guaranteed to draw at least some attention to sets. (Personally I do not think avatar 2 will do as well as everyone seems to think it will, though). LOTR has... an adult-oriented show that'll have been out for half a year or more by the time the sets release. Kids aren't gonna know about LOTR in the way it was in the general audience's mind when the Hobbit movies were releasing.
  25. I was trying to make a joke about how the old battle packs used to be around that cost, although it apparently didn't work. I was in your position for awhile. I gave up and have decided it will be my christmas present to myself this year. Figure the Bugle's close-ish to retiring and the soonest they can get a NWH set out is apparently summer 2022, so I have some time for my wallet to regenerate.
