LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It actually is for the 20th anniversary of clone wars 03, as you later admit, but if it was, then the battlefront 2 set wouldn't be any less of an anniversary set than the helmets, as they're both based on the clone wars era. So you admit that they're using the 20th anniversary branding, which therefore means it's the anniversary of clone wars 03. Arbitrary or not, that's different than it being the anniversary of clone wars 08. I get why we aren't getting 03-specific sets, but it'd be nice if they threw 03 figs into stuff. For example, they could put Fordo or armored Obi-wan in the swamp speeder, or something. It'd have been nice. I don't believe you. Name every year. ^And this guy literally lives on Concord Dawn, @Agent Kallus. Still gonna say they aren't real wars? -

Technically speaking, Sloane's inclusion means the set is based on one of the short stories. So if we split hairs enough, it goes back around to not being ROTJ based. But yeah no it's an ESB set where some designer decided to chuck Sloane in and a different guy decided to plop the ROTJ anniversary label on it. 1. Does Red Five appear in ROTJ? If we're getting technical, then we're getting technical. 2. Also, the CW anniversary it's advertising is the 20th anniversary of Clone Wars 03, so by your logic, if the 501st BP doesn't count, neither do the helmets, as P1 cody and P2 Rex weren't in the 03 clone wars show. And as @jdubbs keeps telling you guys, lego really doesn't put much stock in anniversaries. 2. Sure, they have. (Though you contradict yourself here. Kenobi's starfighter doesn't feature any clone troopers and released in 2022). But I don't think that's an issue in any way. Most prequel fans like the clones. Clones are popular. They sell. If lego replaced clone set slots with non-clone PT sets, I have a feeling that we'd be getting a lot of comments here saying they're "wasting" the prequel slots and that it's a horrible crime X clone wasn't included. -
Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Blade was delayed far enough out that lego probably didn't have sets in development, certainly not far enough in development to have them still release at the original time. Even when/if blade releases, I don't think sets are guaranteed. It's not the most family-friendly property, so even if the movie is gonna be PG-13 I don't think we can count on sets. Be nice to get some though. -

I appreciate the optimism, but I'm glad you understand it could be literally anything. A gunship is possible, but don't get your hopes up. Like you said, it's just mere speculation. MASSIVE W for me and @Goofster Oh man, clearly coincidental patterns that show up are some of my favorites. This one guy used the fact that every time a TX-130 was on shelves, an AT-TE would be on shelves during that release window to say that the may 2022 TX-130 proved an AT-TE was coming... and then was RIGHT? I remember saying that it was a stupid piece of evidence at the time, but he was right, coincidental (yes) or not. -

That's an absolutely wild leap in logic. You mind telling me how a 1397 piece count means it's most likely a gunship? -

Shazam: Fury of the Gods was... somehow.... the second or third best DCEU movie ever? It had no right being as good as it was. I REALLY wish we got at least one set. A wave would be nice to get the full Shazamily, but at the very least I would have loved a set something like: Fury of the Gods ($49.99): Large Ladon dragon build with Shazam, Mary Marvel, Anthea, and Kalypso. Even then, we'd miss out on Freddy, the Wizard, Hespera, and the other Shazamily members. Not to mention the end cameo, which we still haven't gotten that outfit of yet. -

No sources, not even semi-reliable ones have so much as HINTED at a gunship, guys. One is probably gonna show up eventually, but there's no reason to believe it's this year. -

It's fake, though some serious effort was put into it. I was fooled at first too. -

Mando doesn't lose his right to the sword since he was ambushed and trapped by a mech droid. The Rahkshi didn't beat him in an honorable duel. Likewise, Bo-Katan simply picks up the blade and doesn't actually win it in combat. It's been implied a few times now that part of the scourge of mandalore was caused by Bo-Katan not being seen as a legitimate ruler due to not winning the darksaber in honorable combat but simply accepting it from Sabine, so she's hyper-wary that she can't simply HAVE the blade, but needs to win it in honorable single combat, likely with witnesses. -

There's a 92 polybag, maybe it's the batman returns suit. -

I mean, if that's the only continuous element, maybe it's just based on a different scene involving TIE interceptors. I assume they'll show up again. -

Same. I'm very excited to see what this looks like. The Mando is a good point. Maybe they felt like it would be bad to only include the characters from the scene, so they're adding ones from later episodes? Definately is. I mean, like, sure, but this is just baseless speculation, isn't it? We've seen nothing indicating such a set is coming, so even if it seems reasonable to assume it will be made eventually, it's just an assumption. -

Yeah, it's definately a bobblehead. Maybe it'll look better from other angles, but this one isn't doing it for me. I'm fine "breaking my one rule" and just slipping white paper between the head and cowl. Also, WHY? Keaton's batman doesn't even have the white eyes. I've had this problem with a lot of the batman figures. Just give them the correct eyes. We're not allowed to do so here, search #legoleaks on instragram. And welcome to eurobricks! -

Hopefully something like that. Otherwise no reason to have a cockpit. They backtracked it later. We don't actually know how much time has gone by, and they seem determined to keep it that way, at least for now. -

On his behalf I accept your apology. You can't just go around implying people don't like Morbius (2022) What, I thought the only good ones were the fallen Strange and infinite Ultron ones! But as for being the face of what if... I mean, does she need to be? It's an anthology show. It's the right horse if I want an excuse to firebomb a house. I hope we get some more concrete info on the summer sets soon. We still don't even know if the cycles set is TWS or AoU. -

Good that you specified Morbius (2022), as opposed to 2 Morb 2 Bius (2024), Mighty Morbin Power Morbiusus (2026), or Morbius 4: The search for El Muerto (2028) As a side note, not to minimod but let's just everybody calm down a bit. Ok I know what I just said but I will personally firebomb the home of whichever lego exec does this. I swear, if we get a third captain carter in as many years... -

I'm 99% sure it's pearl dark grey. The lighting makes half of the hilt look lighter in the photo, but you can tell it's PDG on the half by mando's arm. Good, my padawan, good. Now you must travel to the Denmark system to complete your training. Yeah, I thought the same, though maybe it was just lighting. I think a rusty brown would be a better color scheme, but this makes it a much better parts pack IMO. Arguments can be made for the grey ball, or the whitish-grey one WITH RED! or the grey one WITH BLACK HEXAGONS! Full of color! -

I'm pretty sure it is. Weird that it mentions a "cockpit with space for a lego minifigure", because A: the pilot doesn't seem to be included and B: Where? Where on this is there room for a lego minifigure? Clearly not in the cockpit. Does it mean the cage thing it has Mando in? I don't see that either, though there isn't a good angle to tell. -

Yup, that's an instant buy. Bo and Mando look incredible, and wow, that crab mech is amazing. It doesn't much look like the show to me to be honest, it seemed more rusted, but the build is incredible. If you read my posts you know I'm no constant defender of lego, but man, I can forgive any inaccuracy. That looks AWESOME. Only real complaint is the Darksaber isn't great, and being a new mold it's all we're gonna get. -

Only if we get The Hunt For Red October 2 and in the process of filming, Alec Baldwin's Jack Ryan shoots and re-kills him. Totally agree. Amazing value, especially nowadays. I'm definately picking this one up. To add my own meme to the mix: -

Dunno if it's a steal, we'll have to see the set, but definately awesome to get a new Bo-Katan and a way to get the updated Mando without the stupid microfighter. Bo-Katan is quickly becoming a favorite of mine, and I don't have her current figure, so I'm excited for this set. Totally agree about Fenn, as low as our chances are. He was one of my favorite rebels characters, alongside the other "auxiliary member" type characters like Kallus, Wedge, and AP-5. Excellent armor too, which given your PFP I'm guessing you agree with! Hmm. She ages pretty well, I don't think she necessarily needs a new face. Definately new helmet and armor prints, though. My plan as well. Wait, how do we know that her father died 51 years before mando? If it's a reference book or throwaway line or something, I could see it being waved off to get her and mando closer in age. Avatar: the way of the living water (Avatar: This is the way?) -
Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
They don't know any more than we do. Revive? I don't think his appearance in a set would change anything if there's a short round spinoff coming or anything. Also, and this is totally unrelated... I don't want a spinoff show or movie about other characters. Indy isn't a franchise like star wars where the focus is on the world. It's just the guy, it's Indy himself. A short round comic or something could be cool, and I'll admit short round is a much more tempting prospect for me than the other obvious choices and rumors (shia back in the day, ravenwood, Pheobe waller-bridge's character, etc), but I don't think you can have Indiana Jones without Indiana Jones.
