  1. I second this. Which we somehow haven't had in 7 years, I think you're on to something. OT Fans: Why have 5 of the past 7 army-builders been clone troopers? PT Fans: Why have ONLY 5 of the past 7 army-builders been clone troopers? For that matter, where's our UCS Boss Nass Bust? Lego hates us personally! Rebels fans: (constantly hitting refresh on #legoleaks waiting for the ahsoka set to potentially include a couple figures who also appear in rebels) ST Fan: (weeps softly in the corner)
  2. There is a nonzero chance that if it's anything like the bugle, there could be a 1x1 round brick or 2x2 dome or something with a Jarro print.
  3. That's fair. I mean I don't argue the godfather is of superior quality to ESB, but ESB's still my favorite film. (Nothing against godfather, I think it's the best film of all time, but... star wars is star wars.) I suppose the senate building could be a good location set, but i just don't see it being MBS. Really the only prequel MBS I could see is Pentaki. Prequel Trilogy CMF series: 1. Padme Amidala (Battle dress): new blaster pistol mold 2. Nute Gunrey: Brick-built mechno-chair 3. Boss Nass (molded head): booma orb 4. Qui-gon Jinn (cloaked, with printed robes and a cloth piece): lightsaber 5. Darth Maul (new cloth pieces, including a waistcape sort of cloth): double lightsaber with the monkie kid part. 6. Clone captain (printed arms and side-printed legs): blaster rifle 7. Zam Wessel (new helmet mold): blaster rifle, alternate clawdite head. 8. Wat Tambor (new head/armor mold): 1x1 round brick with death star plans 9. Obi-Wan Kenobi (geonosis sand stains printed on robes, using the old luke hair): lightsaber 10. Jango Fett (printed arms and dual-molded legs): blaster pistols 11. Commander Bacara (snowtrooper helmet mold, waistcape): blaster rifle 12. Count Dooku (dual-molded legs): Lightsaber 13. Commander Bly (kama and waistcape): blaster rifle 14. Anakin Skywalker (shirtless, with dual-molded arm for robotic hand): lightsaber 15. Darth Sidious (cloth elements): lightsaber (chase figure): 16. Baron Papanoida: cane
  4. I highly doubt it is, but it would be pretty cool, though I'd have the same problem as you. I think we all need to realize that honestly, we have no idea what the 1083 piece set is, we don't even have a price point. Speculating on it is, well, just baseless speculation.
  5. Ugh, fine. One more, but this is the last time, I swear. Because Boba's slave one is significantly more iconic. Because lego doesn't make many sets for film anniversaries, it's not really a thing. Because they have made AOTC sets since 2013 and because if your criteria is "not based on the two main factions of the trilogy" then you could say the same thing about ESB or ROTJ. Because lego has probably found that vehicles sell better than location sets, overall, even if many of us on the forum wish it was the other way around. Granted, that last one's a fairly reasonable question, but c'mon. The rest of these are obvious.
  6. I can't see them doing two repeated figs for it, especially since Cap and Widow have been available in cheap sets for awhile. My guess is Widow's a re-use of either the quinjet or helicarrier one, but Cap is the Winter Soldier version.
  7. Thank you! Thank you! That diorama's got to be coming in some form, the tantive IV hallway is just too iconic to ignore.
  8. No, I agree with you. I'm saying the other dude's comments feel like they're fueled more by the false belief that lego has some sort of secret anti-prequel bias than anything logical. Aight, so this'll be my last response here, since now I'm pretty sure you are trolling. No. TLG does not "hate" any of the films. They are a company. If a movie's sets are selling well, they are more inclined to make it. They could care less about the film itself. A company's goal, as it should be, is to make money, and any sort of anti-prequel bias is entirely inconsistent with that goal. Correct. Apollo Creed's wardrobe carried over from Rocky. Yup. I've suggested this set be made before, but not because of the meme, because it's one of the most emotional scenes in the prequels and the finale of the third film. A high ground qoute would not be what sells the set.
  9. No. The meditation chamber is far more iconic and well-known as a location than the "I don't like sand" palisade among the 18+ demographic. "I don't like sand" is just known as a meme, or worse, an example of how terrible a lot of the dialogue and acting in the prequels was. You cannot seriously be saying that, when faced with the option between a meditation chamber set or "I don't like sand" set, more people in general would chose to spend their money on the haha funny meme. It's not like an impulse buy set, either. The dioramas are a fair chunk of change. I don't like to say people are trolling, but at this point it's either that or the most extreme example of what the "lego secretly hates the prequels" mindset turns into.
  10. I don't think this is true at all. 18+ sets are meant to appeal to casual adult fans of SW, just as the 18+ market in general is lego's attempt to crack into the adult market for previous non-lego fans. This is why the dioramas and helmets start out with the most popular eras and characters, they're testing the waters. And there's a difference between asking a guy a question or having him sign sand as a joke and spending $80 on a lego set because haha funny sand line. Same with Bully Maguire. Would it be funny if he was in a set? Yes. Would many people buy a $80 diorama of Bully maguire dancing in front of the elevator doors? Definately not.
  11. I believe you are saying you think an astromech droid would justify a $5 price increase for the microfighter, but grogu would not? I don't think an extra fig- astromech, grogu, or minifig- justifies a $5 price increase, but I don't think that's it. I think due to inflation and lego's own price increases, microfighters just cost $15 in general now. And as a result, I think we're seeing the mechs replace them, since they... I guess will seem more "worth" $15 to people, given the marvel mechs are now $15? I'm not sure. Geez, is it? Time flies, huh? Looking forewards to it, I've soured a bit on SW tv overall since for every masterpiece like Andor we get TBOBF or Kenobi, but Mando is consistently great.
  12. And the BoBf starfighter was revealed not long after that one's episode. I wouldn't be surprised if the mando S3 sets were revealed during or shortly after the show's run as well. Bit odd that it's almost march and we don't even have descriptions of the may sets yet, despite knowing they're in factory production based on that mando figure that leaked.
  13. Do you actually think people are going to buy a set because it references a meme line, especially with that meme line being a meme because of how awful that scene was? More than that, you think "I don't like sand" is one of the most iconic lines from ANY MOVIE? I'd like to live in whatever world you seem to be in. As for botching the AOTC anniversary, that's our fault. All signs seem to point to the AT-TE originally being AOTC based before it was changed to include P2 cody since people wanted him so badly. Maybe in terms of percentage of screen time relative to eachother, but I think they're both on screen for under a minute or two tops. It wouldn't make a difference in lego's eyes, especially considering we literally just got a non canon legion.
  14. "Lego knows N1s sell very well" do they? We generally got 1 every four years or so in that TCW era, but there was a 7 year gap between the last two, with the newest one being a different ship based off one of the most popular television shows of the past decade, and two of the most popular SW characters ever. In addition, that argument is like "Lego must know x-wings sell well so why haven't they branched off to make the medical cruiser from TLJ?". Just because both ships are used by the same organization in-universe doesn't mean they'd sell just as well as eachother.
  15. Ok, hold on. Really. You think some $80 diorama of "I don't like sand" would sell anywhere near as a single one of the existing dioramas? Really? This is... dude. Think about it. The 41st were not really seen for significantly longer than the 327th. As for your stat there... yes, in the weird sample of time during the sequels' release, we got a fair amount of 41st troopers due to the vehicles being made being heavily featured on Kashyyyk. Since then, and immediately before then, we've had a variety of other legions. Don't cherry-pick data. Yes, the two above are notable outliers of sets that would hypothetically sell well. That said, my guess for Jango's is that since Boba's is more iconic and it'd be weird to have both on shelves at the same time, it just keeps getting shafted, especially with Boba's resurgence in the mandoverse. One possible way around this is to have, say, a new UCS slave one, with a system Jango's slave one alongside it, so that way both can be on shelves without feeling like too big of an overlap.
  16. Uh, you're forgetting the best robin. Jarro is Batman's favorite son.
  17. I might not agree with some of the "embarrassing" terminology, but you aren't wrong. Brickset definately supports that analysis. However, we can at least try to track lego's logic: Prequel films: Got big waves around the time of release. However, prequel sets dropped off almost completely around 2008, as lego produced a massive amount of clone wars sets, which contained many of the same characters and vehicles as that trilogy. Following declining numbers of TCW sets, we got large AOTC and ROTS waves in 2013 and 2014 respectively. From 2015-2019, 33-50% of sets were based on the upcoming films, meaning the overall number of Skywalker Saga sets took a dive, and since the OT tended to sell better, it got the lion's share of what remained. Following the end of the disney era of films, and lego's recognition of an increased uptick in prequel fans due to those who grew up with the trilogy reaching young adulthood (this dovetailing with a drastic increase in the number of young adults buying lego sets), we started recieving an uptick in prequel-era sets, specifically those including highly-requested p2 clone troopers. But again, due to the overlap in material, we still aren't getting many sets specifically for AOTC or TPM. Rebels: This one is super clear-cut. TLG released a massive rebels wave in January 2015, anticipating the series to be as immediately popular as clone wars was. However, likely in part due to featuring a cast of characters and vehicles the audience wasn't already familiar with, the sets sold fairly poorly. This led to very few sets being produced for later seasons, and those that were produced primarily focusing on vehicles from existing PT or OT material. Fan support for the show, however, increased as seasons went on, but lego's experiments with post-TCW TCW sets led them to believe any post-finale rebels sets would sell poorly. Given that they're listening to fans a lot these days, rebels sets are possible, but it's more likely that rebels characters and vehicles will find themselves packaged as part of the Ahsoka series. Bad Batch: As is documented even with Mandalorian, after the failure of rebels, TLG was extremely cautious with TBB, only producing one set. Inexplicably, we also got a $170 set based on a vehicle from one episode of the series, but other than that, few sets have been produced. This is likely in part due to TBB's vehicle overlap with the prequels and clone wars, but could also imply that the shuttle wasn't doing the numbers necessary to receive many more sets. ROTJ: Honestly I dunno, I feel like we've had quite a few ROTJ sets. Endor has definately been lacking a bit in recent years, but that's again most likely due to the 5-year period in which lego focused on new content, as well as the focus on Mando and clone trooper sets these past few years. Book of Boba: This one's not really neglected, per se. It got two sets around launch last year and it hasn't been long enough to judge whether or not they'll be producing more. Given the poor reception of the show, though, the only set I could see us getting is some final battle set with a rancor, the droid, and cad bane. TROS: I mean, after their initial waves, we've got very little for all of the sequels due to their poor reception. This one doesn't require much sleuthing.
  18. Not to say that it's the $650 set, because it definately isn't, but... about as much as any other MBS set, right? It's not like people were clamoring for the interior rooms of cloud city or a larger bar for mos eisley any more than people want the geonosian architecture. An arena would have interesting beasts (hopefully brick-built), and a recognizable structure, plus probably a midi-scale ship gunship, given that the last 2 MBS sets had vehicles included.
  19. She has? ....oh. Huh. That is... wow. That is Cassandra in name only, huh? Think you might have the wrong thread. The spiderverse films are marvel. Is he different in the arkham games? I've seen his design, but I don't believe I've played Arkham knight.
  20. Is he that obscure? I feel like he was just discussed in the thread. But yeah, that's him. i don't actually think Cassandra or Jean-Paul are going to show up (both probably too obscure, and lego gets spooked easily enough with anything religion-related that I doubt we'll see Azreal) Up until this moment I literally thought he was made in like 2010. (Update: some quick googling shows he first showed up in '87, but didn't really do anything until 2007ish where he became the new robin? Which I suppose makes sense.)
  21. Was Damian created in the 90s? If so, it definately could be either, so I'll make this a little more specific:
  22. Both correct. The third one shouldn't be much harder than the second. (Also, to clarify, I have no idea whether these are coming or not. Just figured I'd make that abundantly clear before these figures suddenly become "confirmed" on instagram)
  23. Wait, this doesn't make sense. Alexsandr doesn't fit with any of the other clues. Are you saying you aren't, in fact, Agent Kallus? Let me try my hand at a few of my favorites: A real marksman, who prefers firearms to crowbars, With the rest of the family he often spars, For what happened to him, Joker holds the blame, If Amell's Queen wore maroon, he might share his name. Similar to a certain devil, though she prefers to wear black, trained by one of the bat's enemies for her form of attack, She's never showed up in films, though she's more than able, at one point, taking bruce's familial situation as her label. A child of the 90s, if in form not in function, righteousness guides his violent compunctions, Sometimes an enemy of the batman, sometimes a friend, upon his blade criminals shall meet their end.
  24. That's nuts to me. I always thought people considered the Phantom Menace the worst one. The set amounts are probably due to overlap in material with TCW, which in it's early seasons got massive amounts of sets. Doesn't seem likely we'll get much more anyway, as lego does seem to have noticed that most people prefer P2 clones, so any republic/CIS vehicle would most likely just be clone wars or ROTS based. "Be careful what you wish for, Parker" $650 set is, in fact, UCS Naboo field (No buildings, just the field) with those stupid cow things, Padme, and Anakin.
  25. I honestly didn't know the Luke in that set was exclusive. I just really like that set. Yeah, this MBS arena discussion is even more Hopium filled than the gunship. At least with the gunship, the piece count makes sense and it would make sense for lego to release it this year, even if there is NO ACTUAL EVIDENCE that the gunship is coming. Geonosis, on the other hand, actively has the price point/piece count working against it. My guess is we'll see another smallish to mid size prequel MBS before we get anything near $650. Maybe it'll be a geonosis arena. Maybe not. But this set is almost certainly either a death star or a vehicle of some sort.
