LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Have you seen the new one, or is this a guess? Because if it's the latter, since the 2011 shuttle was $60 (also with 4 figs), I'm feeling that this one has to be substantially smaller at $70, since from inflation alone the 2011 set would be $80.25 today, not to mention lego's own price hikes and the general move from larger parts to smaller parts over the last decade. -

That I can agree with. Ideally 2024 2HY has a vulture droid or snail tank with a couple droids and, like, Rex without arm printing or something. Though given this wave, maybe Doom actually is coming! (Which I wouldn't be opposed to per se...) I've definately seen complaints about them, especially the 501st legion and tx-130 sets. Thank you! T-6 fig selection is fine. My guess is the "inquisitor" is Baylon, though if it's an inquisitor lightsaber specifically guess not. Pair of ships is odd. I'd guess a couple starfighters then. Not a huge fan of pairing ships, but at least it's the same faction. Lol. Based on this, 2024/2025 will include: Clone pilot battle pack ($25, build is a giant AT-RT) TIE Defender ($100): Comes with a TIE pilot, Kanan, and Zeb.) and everything else will be a CIS vehicle. I don't think not having a fig automatically makes it an L, especially if it's following on with the executor's revival of mid-scale. If it is midi scale, and the revival of it's more than simply the executor, @Kdapt-Preacher, "Looks like (you've) got competition" (I know, I know, completely different scale in actuality, but non-playscale ships.) -

Also, I find it funny that after all the complaints about getting B1s in every clone set, now that they stopped, people are complaining that they're missing. -

I want the exact opposite, ironically. Honestly they should have just made it two smaller sets. I'm not reading 5 pages of comments today but it seems someone somewhere has info on minifigs from the Ahsoka sets? -

A little confused here. What 2013 set was at that price or piece count? Or do you just mean the amount of CW era sets, or something like aggregate price/piece count? -

I'll add to it that Ahsoka wasn't available in a cheaper set until a solid year afterwards, and if the number of clones in a set is your complaint... c'mon. We're getting new clone legions and commanders left and right. It's literally to the extent that Fox and Vaughn are coming. -

Oh and also I better not hear a single "waaah lego doesn't care about the prequel era" complaint again after we're getting the what, 3rd largest SW set ever based on the clone wars, alongside the rest of this wave. -

Ironically, I want only the Fang Fighter as I already have an interceptor MOC! Fang Fighter VS interceptor looks good, though I wish they just split them into two sets. I don't want to pay $90 for a set that I don't want half of, so I don't think I'll get it. Thoughts on the other sets: Swamp Speeder: The figure selection is strange, but good. However, at the price and piece count, I'd actively advocate for people to not buy this set unless they want more $25-27 "battle packs" with the same piece count as the $20 ones (which coincidentally is the same piece count as the $15 ones...). They'll have almost doubled in price over 3 years if we all buy these. I could be wrong and the swamp speeder could just be using massive CCBS pieces or something, but I doubt it. Keep in mind that with Vaughn and the other troopers, the maximum amount of parts that can actually be allocated to the speeder is 87... about the same as the $15 mando battle pack had allocated to it's build. Gunship: I still don't understand the figure selection, but any gunship at all is good. If the shock troopers are cheap on BL I'll pick them up, but since I have a modded 2013 one, I'm in no rush to buy this set. Ghost: I am very glad we're getting one, even if the figure selection is insane to me. I have the 2014 one, but if this looks good enough, I might end up having to get it, as I love rebels. Venator: I'm sure this will look great, but I'm unsure as to how well it will sell. I know I said you could throw P2 Rex into anything and guarantee it'll sell, but $650 is really stretching it. And right after a UCS star destroyer retires, too. I just don't know if the market is there, and as with the gunship back in 2021, I'd rather have had a playscale one. -

Yup, we got got. That's insane that it's real, I mean... whoah. Those are some WILD figure selections. I will complain to no end about the loss of Zeb and my second favorite legion being locked to a very expensive set, but honestly, they're doing what the fans called for in general, to the extent that with something like the Venator they might be sacrificing sales for pleasing the hardcore fans. My only real complaint is if Rex doesn't appear in any cheaper sets in 1HY 2024. -
DC Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Dude, lego hasn't even gotten the other indiana jones sets to target yet. That entire theme is baffling me. (Also, supposedly Gunn is considering keeping Miller, according to some leaks, which is horrible, but would further imply the set isn't cancelled.) I don't think we have any reason for panic yet. Unlike the ToD, we know this set was being physically produced at some point. More likely they're just waiting for the flash marketing to kick into gear. -

I still don't believe this. Honestly, at this point, and given how absurd these choices are, I might not believe it until images leak even if a more reliable source confirms it. EDIT: Aw, falconfan confirmed? Baffling fig selections then, but we'll see. Might have to pick up that Ghost, figures be damned. -

..without Ahsoka, though. Which I think is another point in favor of it being fake. If they went out of their way to make a figure selection like that, why exclude the main character of the arc, who's also the focal point of the synergy? Be like if we got a (20th anniversary sized, not the measly $50 one) Jango's slave one last summer to tie in with Obi-Wan kenobi... but it didn't come with Obi-wan. First off, like @Brickroll says, welcome back! Second, I don't believe so. Thorn instead of Fox is possible, though I'd be surprised if he was missing his signature minigun. But I feel that promobricks, were this list real, which I'm still inclined to think it's not, would be able to tell Palpatine from Clovis. -

The only reason people are saying the gunship is legit is because a random redditor gave the same figure selection back in January... meaning promobricks just read his post. Most likely none of them are real. Really, it's the Venator that does it for me. C'mon guys, you really think they're gonna do another UCS star destroyer almost immediately after the last one retired... with clone wars figures... including Rex... What did the goat guy do? Was he the one who did the sonic "leaks" in march as april fools? -
DC superheroes MOC wave: The Brick Knight Returns
Mandalorianknight replied to Mandalorianknight's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thank you! The next wave has 5-6 location builds, with 2-3 of them being the central part of the set and 3 being side builds. (I know I said I was gonna wait longer before the next one, but I've been procrastinating on actual work by doing this.) Only 2 left, the flagship set (A large batwing with some side builds) and a diorama. The wave's taken an interesting turn since I started it, and is now meant as a movie tie-in wave for a movie that doesn't exist. Sort of like the old Shadows of the Empire star wars marketing campaign. -

There are a billion characters with darker skin in canon who are alive after the OT ends, I mean Lando himself's interacted with the ghost in the past for one thing. For another, the joke list was clearly implying the set was Ahsoka based, so that slot was probably supposed to be some new character, promobricks just missing that we haven't had any leaks regarding new main roles for men fitting that description. maybe, I don't think we know the actor's race, but his costume's been described as something that would definately have grabbed promobricks' attention more than "dude with dark skin." (If you want to know, it's But anyway, the list is most likely fake. No reason to speculate on the character that probably doesn't exist. You mind telling us the figs? No pressure if you can't, but it'd be nice to get some actual info today from somebody. @DuckBricks so far has had the best April Fool's with his Morbius review, but most lego personalities and reviewers have done something for April Fool's day. LAN itself even got in on it. Given the list itself, either MandR is overdosing on copium, or he's in on the joke. -

I HIGHLY doubt lego was given access to that scene from Mando S3. ExACTLY. Ok so first of all, Saw is absurd. The man is dead long before Ahsoka, and I know lego's made some weird choices recently, but making a Ghost based on rebels and including 2 members of the ghost crew and 3 characters with minimal roles in the show, from different episodes, is a bridge too far. -

Given inflation alone, if they rereleased the exact same ghost today as they did in 2014, it would be $115. Keep in mind, that ghost had 4 minifigs and a pretty lackluster interior, just the cockpits. Add to that lego's own price increases, adding figures/detail/enlarging it for an interior, and the potential inclusion of a phantom, and $170 is pretty realistic. Of course, this particular ghost is fake. -

There are two ways to do an effective april fool's joke like this. What you say, where it's something 99% of people would dislike, making it easier to recognize it's fake, is one. The other is something just extremely absurd, so even if it's highly requested, people realize it's fake (I.E. they say the gunship is the 1083 piece set, but it's only $80 and has 10 figs including Rex, Fives, and Jesse.). What promobricks has done is really annoying, as it's highly requested sets, but not quite absurd enough for everyone to realize it's fake, and the figure selections being less than ideal muddies it further. You're completely right, though I'd offer different reasons mainly based on the figure selection of the other sets, as I've gone over in previous posts. Plus the UCS venator itself screams fake to me, even if the gunship sold spectacularly, I couldn't see another prequel UCS being finished before 1HY 2024. You gotta remember that they have to see sales, not just immediately but long-term, before greenlighting another set, and then they actually have to develop it. I wouldn't be surprised if something like a UCS venator was in some level of production already, but seeing it before the Gunship retires is unlikely to me, as is the massive leap in price point between a gunship and venator. I don't remember if promobricks expressly said it was based on Ahsoka, but c'mon. Jacen and a new character being in it means it HAS to be Ahsoka (and again, this stuff's fake, man.) -

Quarrie and Jacen are red flags, but I think the more obvious thing is who's missing. Ahsoka herself isn't guaranteed to be in every set for her show, but it'd surprise me a little if she wasn't in the first 2-3. More importantly, the show's got a wide selection of villains leaked, and even if big blue and his new troops don't show up for spoiler reasons, there are a number of other villains, and even with lego's wacky figure choices recently I can't see them making Jacen and Quarrie, who haven't been in any reliable leaks IIRC and as such, considering who they are, probably aren't more than cameos (if quarrie appears at all, because this list is fake), but not all the main villains. -

Supposedly it was just the gunship, and given how promobricks seemed to be trying to be semi-realistic with the other two sets, my guess is they chose to use those figures exactly to get people thinking it was real. I highly doubt lego skips out on a gunship pilot again. The ghost is one of the ways to easily show this is most likely fake (potential ahsoka spoilers, though they're more anti-spoilers than anything): I don't think we'll see Ezra and Thrawn in the sets, unless they find them early in the show which seems doubtful, but the lack of an Ahsoka or ANY of the rumored villains is pretty telling. -

The figures are the most outlandish part to me (well, aside from the UCS venator being the coming UCS), so I could see this, but I think it's much more likely they're just straight up fake. Dude Ashnflash literally had a fake set built to review alongside other youtubers, compared to that, writing a couple paragraphs is nothing. Promobrick's major issue, if it is indeed fake like I think, was making the leaks be for the gunship and ghost. Those have been speculated on for awhile now. It'd be something else if they said, like, UCS Glup Shitto statue with the 1083 piece set being Geode and the 1394 piece set being an 18+ diorama for Young Jedi Adventures, but picking two vaguely realistic and extremely requested choices is going to make some people believe it, even if the figure selections read absolutely fake. -

Yeah, it's the standard TK trooper. I remember back after season 1 the most wishlisted set here was a V-wing with Omega, a TK trooper, and a commando. My guess is this time around it'll end up being Echo's ship. Solo wave (I'm gonna skip rogue one since I literally MOCed a full wave of sets for it about 6 months ago). The amount of new imperial troopers we got from this movie was crazy. Microfighters: Lando's Millenium Falcon Microfighter ($9.99): Lando Calrissian TIE Brute Microfighter ($9.99): TIE pilot Han Solo VS Moloch's speeder microfighters ($19.99): Han Solo and Moloch Battle Packs: Cloud Raiders battle pack ($14.99): 2-seater swoop with Weazel, a rodian cloud rider, a mimbanese cloud rider, and the cloud rider with the mysterio helmet looking thing. Range Troopers battle pack ($14.99): 3x range trooper, 1x cold weather gunner. Build is a small outpost with turret. Duel: Duel on the First Light ($24.99): Dryden's museum room (with mando armor and other decorations) with Qi'ra, Dryden Vos, and Han Solo. Standard system sets: Escape from Kessel ($34.99): Kessel vault and corridor, along with coaxium cart. Comes with Han Solo, a Wookiee prisoner, and 2x kessel guards. Mimban Encounter ($59.99): AT-DT and a build with a trapdoor into Chewie's pit. Comes with Han Solo (army uniform), muddy Chewbacca, 2x mimban stormtrooper, and 2x mudtrooper. TIE Brute ($79.99): TIE Brute (In between 2021 and 2018 ties in scale) with TIE pilot, 2x stormtrooper, imperial officer, Beckett (imperial uniform), and L3-37. Conveyex Robbery ($139.99): Conveyex train (double-sided) and a small length of elevated track. Comes with 3x range trooper, 1x viper probe, Val, Beckett, Rio, Han, and Chewie. Lando's Millenium Falcon ($169.99): Using an updated design that doesn't have those gaps along it. Comes with Han Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, Qi'ra, Beckett, L3-37, Dryden Vos, and 2x Crimson Dawn guards. Also, I'll be starting the annual community wishlist MOC wave in about a month (maybe a little later depending on what the May the Fourth contest here is about this year), so if anyone has any sets they want to see made, let me know! This is the template I'm planning on using for the overall wave layout: 2 microfighters 1 microfighter duel pack 2 battle packs 1 200-ish pc "duel" set in the style of the starkiller base or mustafar duels 1 "semi-battle pack", or a 300-400ish pc set with 4-6 figs 4-5 standard system sets ranging from 200ish to 1500ish pieces 2 quote sets ranging from 500ish to 1000ish pieces 1 retail polybag set, like a small vehicle or something 2 GWP style sets: a small 40-ish pc polybag and a 100-200ish pc set. Something like the Lars Kitchen or Endor diorama set. -

They said they don't lock characters to UCS sets anymore, and that seems to be the case. All characters from UCS (Not MBS of course) sets these past few years have been in system sets either a couple years before or after their release. My guess is if this is true, which it isn't, rex would only have arm printing in the UCS set, to keep that variant desirable while still letting fans get Rex without paying hundreds.
