  1. Are you seriously gonna tell me that this isn't something lego would totally do. I'm pretty sure it actually is supposed to be. Rumor is there's an episode And "what if the tesseract landed in Mohawk territory before the formation of america and gave a girl superpowers" doesn't even feel like a what-if. That's just a different story. Could be a good one, but is it really what if? I feel like they realized half their season one what ifs were just "what if (character) had the powers of (other character)", but they overcorrected. What ifs work best (in my opinion) when they either take a character we care about and do something that changes their person (such as the excellent spider-man as punisher one), or something like episode 3 of season 1. Anyway, to stay on topic, I'm almost 100% sure we will see the Mohawk lady in the CMF, if for no other reason than putting her in instead of someone like Daredevil or infinity ultron seems completely in-character for lego. She's also vaguely captain america related between living in what is soon to be america and being involved with the tesseract, and the last CMF was something like 42% captain america related.
  2. Unfortunately, I think you're spot on. This is egregious to me. If the choice was just to not take the theme in general, I'd be annoyed at whoever made that choice. But the fact that someone decided to cancel it AFTER THEY PRODUCED SETS? Someone should be fired over this. The temple seems to have been as far along as the other three, so my guess is that they did decide something in it "went against brand values" (AKA they were worried about some 14 yr old girl on twitter complaining). Other than that, I think you're spot on. Something spooked them off from making the theme, so they only released the three sets solely to recoup some of their losses and fulfill the contract of releasing SOMETHING. THIS IS ANOTHER THING! They're still releasing the set with Ezra Miller, despite the fact that he's committed a TON of crimes over the past few years. That's ok but Indy isn't?
  3. It's assumably just them being cheeky, since as others have said, he wasn't credited as Gloin in the film.
  4. There are not many times I wish I lived in europe, but this is definately one of them. 212th is my favorite legion and since I have my MOC AT-TE I'm not paying $140 just to get a couple of em.
  5. You guys are severely overthinking this. Look. I doubt lego cares about having the BB and clones on opposite sides. Imp crosshair was in the first BB set. The reason we haven't had many BB sets is a mix of lego's general concern with show sets, the sheer amount of material that's been releasing, the fact that they've already produced a large amount of clone sets, etc.
  6. Wait, that's right. Though it would discredit the plane chase price too. It is pretty funny. Brand values? Yes. Lego's values are 100% being determined at least in part of their fear of a boycott or negative press if they release sets some deem controversial.
  7. Good point. While @kidtheboss611 is right that they could just have given it the wrong name, for a $100 set I think it's more likely that it's a TIE interceptor and correctly named Fang Fighter.
  8. Goodbye, and may the Morb be with you. At this point I'm just bricklinking whichever Indy figure is cheapest. I'm not voting with my wallet as even if the sets weren't overpriced, I don't think lego wants this line to succeed long-term. There is no doubt in my mind that the sales of these sets will have no effect on whether or not we get more. Agreed. $50 is fair, maybe a little on the high side but still fair for pre-price hike lego. $60 is more what I'd expect from price hikes and would push it out of being "worth it" for me, but still could probably sell well. $80 is insane.
  9. I agree in general, but I think that the microfighter will be a shelfwarmer at $16. The snubfighter entirely depends on whether or not the pirates show up more, but mando and grogu are the only draws of the microfighter, and they're just so widely available already. I think most kids at this point already have them, and as such there's no reason to go for it. I think you're spot on about the PR department too. It's either that, or the PR guy believes he's supposed to be doing a parody. Thoughts on mando and BB
  10. Dang. The more we saw of the Lost Tomb I was planning on getting it instead of the plane chase, but not if it DOUBLED IN PRICE? That's absurd. That's... who in their right mind would do that? It's like lego WANTS indy to fail. If that means it's also $50, that'd be fine. I'll grumble a bit, but it's still a fair price.
  11. Excellent attitude to have in regards to this. There's of course reasons to find indiana jones toys a bit uncomfortable regarding subject matter, but, like you say, you've got the option to just not buy them, instead of trying to cancel a set for everyone. I believe he's explicitly saying he's not really mad at anyone, it just doesn't sit well with him so he's not personally going to buy it. (also, bringing up the creator might be a bad move. I still see comments from people trying to get the entire harry potter theme cancelled because they don't like it's creator.)
  12. Watch the Marvels set just be a ton of molded dinos for some reason. But you bring up a good point. even by lego's own standards, even by lego's own standards THIS YEAR, the marvels set is absolutely absurdly priced. Edit; I also love that the thread momentarily devolved into a discussion about the brachio's parts.
  13. Making the best of a limited system is right. These are incredible as always, but you can definately tell that the chunkier parts make these overall not quite as good as something like your wolverine or iron man upgrades. I admire the persistence though, these are still miles beyond anything I could do.
  14. But the price hikes are part of it! I'm not usually one to "but company made money", but revealing overpriced sets the same day that you report a double-digit profit increase is... not a great PR move. I'm not gonna lie I honestly forgot he lived. a price increase of 30% is a lot better than 60%, so that's not terrible. Though as for being the last microfighter, if the mechs fail, it might not be. I wouldn't go so far as a 1x1 tile, but he's definately not equal to a minifig, and I think at this point most mando fans have one. I doubt he's the draw lego's thinking he is. Yeah, I noticed that too. It feels too... modern? More like something out of a prequel film or GOTG than the more original trilogy style/blocky design of the in-show ship. Totally agree about that too, for most people the pirates just aren't that interesting of a faction. I think they'll show up again for, like, an episode or two, but I don't think they're gonna be all that interesting. The AT-ST raider did well back when it was the only way to get Mando and Cara, but imagine if it just came with some Klatoonians. I don't think it would do well.
  15. THANK YOU! I don't get why this isn't such a big deal for people. The snub fighter would have been the standard grumblings about the recent price hikes had it included Greef or even Mando, but with only 2 figs, I feel like it's more clear how bad the value is. I know! This feels like it should be a bigger deal than people are making out of it. They increased the price over 50%! I think because $16 is relatively cheap, even if it's insanely overpriced, it's going to fly under the radar and lots of parents will probably still get it, not realizing how absurd it is.
  16. We don't know for sure DoD is cancelled, but if it is, my guess is the plane squeaked by just by being farther along in production. Exactly. The circumstances of the reveal of the April sets will decide whether or not we're getting DoD sets. Also, aw no man, don't tell me you've got an ideas project for that in your signature.
  17. Lego's done stuff like this before, most notably with the infinity war figure pack promo back in the day. If sets release after a desirable promo, such as the May the Fourth promo, there's a chance people will buy stuff they otherwise wouldn't for the promo, then buy the new sets anyway. (Course, that'd imply the promo will only be available on the fourth itself, but I can't think of any other reason for them to do it and I'm a bit cynical towards lego now due to this $16 microfighter.) We know there's at least one generic mando coming, my guess is we'll see a new Bo-Katan as well. Lego will not make a new darksaber mold. For some reason, they really seem to think that the lightsaber in black is fine. My opinion on the new sets: Snub Fighter: I'm almost glad it is only 2 figs, because it feels so overpriced that with 2 figs you can at least tell. If an exclusive Greef or something was included, it'd still be overpriced, but I think it'd sell a LOT better. As is, I don't think this set does well at all. No characters kids care about, and not a particularly interesting ship. N-1: Jeez, $16? Really? That's a $6 increase for 10 less pieces and what, Grogu? The fighter itself also looks off to me.
  18. The front is better than the official set.
  19. Don't joke about this, or they'll do it. No one's ever cared about the key chains, I don't think that's what he meant.
  20. Dangit I was gonna say that. Re- the Goat news, Uh oh. Can't imagine what the news is, but the wave's already hanging on by, what, the Swamp Speeder and Yavin? So my guess is one of those has some bad news regarding it.
  21. Totally agree that they really need a third character, especially one from the good side. But I mantain that the Anzellens would need a new head mold. Sure, you could hypothetically just make the beard, goggles, and hood printed, but I don't think it would look very good, especially considering their faces are already quite ET-like to begin with.
  22. Wait, what? That's absurd, and that set is not going to sell well at all. Even if it was just adding Mando, a character pretty much anyone collecting LSW already has, it'd be enough to justify the set more. But only two figs in the entire set is CRAZY.
  23. Sorry for necrobumping this, but I figured it was better than starting a new thread. L-R are Electro from NWH, Goblin from the NWH final battle, a WW1 captain america (which isn't MCU I guess but I just really wanted to use the Jay Garrick helmet for a Cap), and a very minor Bucky modification swapping out the head. Oh, and all are purist, including the cap (standard brown starched cape looped through the arms).
  24. For what I can only assume HAS to be the longest gap between posts for a eurobricks user, you've sure made an impression with your return. This is an excellent UCS model, and a very unique idea. You've captured the shaping very well.
  25. Unfortunately, I was delayed in returning home by this week's storms, but I still wanted to make SOMETHING for the contest, even if it wasn't what I had in mind originally or if it couldn't technically be entered. Just a small build of STAR labs for Flash to relax in. Though currently he seems to be speeding around trying to figure out why all the screens have gone black. The build's got the STAR labs desk, the spot for his suit, and the little display for Jay Garrick's helmet, placing this within season 2 of the show (back when it was good). Like I said, this wasn't what I originally wanted to enter, nor was it particularly time-consuming to make or does it include many interesting details or techniques, but I wanted to make A vignette along the lines of the contest.
