  1. I wasn't being sarcastic, I genuinely love it. As for 1/10th the promo requirement, of course it's that much cheaper to make on BL (aside from the exclusive part) than the threshold. They'd be losing money if they gave it out for like $50 of purchases. Lego's been getting cash-grabby in a lot of ways, but this isn't one of them. If the only thing that makes a promo "worth it" to you is a figure, I think you're just going to make yourself disappointed. The point of a set, as it almost always is, is the lego set, not just the minifigs. 100% agree. Feels like lego's decided that the 501st packs sell well and therefore need 3 battle packs in 4 years. It's absurd. The specialist pack was different enough and came out long enough after the standard pack that I was fine with it, but this new one is just 8 months after the previous pack and is just stock 501st with different helmets... not worth it to me. I agree in general, though I'd say the specialist pack is 100% army buildable. Maybe not to the extent of those youtubers who buy like 30 copies, but it's definately a set that having 4-5 copies of makes some sense. I mean, they've swapped out a fig or whatever. This would be completely altering the colors of the set, most of it's prints, and changing the set's design to some extent. That's a HUGE change. It's not happening.
  2. After building the death star promo, I've completely turned around on it. I think it's an excellent promo. It looks great, is pretty sizeable, and honestly I greatly prefer it to something like the homestead, figure or not.
  3. That one, and the imps used LAAT/i gunships in the early years of the empire as well. (Which were just republic gunships painted gray, the classic imperial "our ship is the same as the republic one but with no red" design change) Having just built the Tac-Pod last night, I can definately see that. The good elements of the official design, like the doors and front, are kept, and you've expanded on the design significantly.
  4. I'm gonna be that extremely pedantic guy and point out that there is, in fact, a canon imperial LAAT, but that's extremely pedantic like I said. This is an excellent moc, even without the fact that it's an alternate build of 2 of the Andor set. You successfully made a significantly larger version of the Tac-Pod without it suffering from the standard issues with alternate builds. If you told me this was an official set for Andor S2, I'd believe it.
  5. I am just a few hours into survivor and from the first two planets ALONE there are a billion sets. Off the top of my head, and excluding the mantis: Planet 1 (Spoilers for the opening mission): Planet 2 (Minor spoilers for, like, the first mission once you get to the main area of the hub world? Once you get to the scene from the trailer, that's it.):
  6. Arriving today, I got: The Throne Room diorama: My favorite scene in cinema history, I HAD to get this set. The Andor set: I went back and forth a couple times on this one, but in the order that actually went through, I did manage to get the price down to almost $40 between discounts and VIP points, which makes it worth it to me. All 4 of the freebies: X-wing polybag, spring polybag thing (No idea what I'm doing with that), the coin (which looks very nice, actually) and the death star 2. I was planning on selling the DS2, but looking at the build... I might actually build it. Say what you will about it- I certainly didn't like it when it was revealed- but honestly now that I have it, it looks much better than, say, the lars kitchen. I think if it had just come with an exclusive Jerjerrod or something, people would have loved it.
  7. For minifigure habitat, is there an upper limit? Like, say I had a situation where the build was filled with minifigures, like 12+ (This is not necessarily what I'm doing, as the fig counts for the two habitats I have planned are 6 and 3, but I want to make sure). If it makes sense in the context of the habitat, would it be allowed? Also for the habitat, is the focus meant to be more on the build, the figures, or split more evenly between the two?
  8. Best polybag in a LONG time! desirable new, potentially exclusive figure, and with a nice build too instead of some random bat jet-ski or something. Will definately pick this up.
  9. Hopefully it means you're getting two copies! Jokes aside I know they make that error fairly often (happened to one of my friends with the london skyline once), so there's a chance. It's nice when lego's abysmal handling of orders ends up getting you a bonus. Same with my AT-AT and the tatooine diorama.
  10. Thanks, they all look great! You have a very defined style that reminds me of classic lego, just taken to another level detail-wise. That rebel y-wing is particularly excellent.
  11. Consider yourself lucky. 4-5 days and my order hasn't left the warehouse...
  12. -appears out of nowhere -posts multiple UCS quality mocs in rapid succession. -refuses to elaborate further Seriously, this is excellent! I agree with @TeddytheSpoon about the cockpit, it's immediately recognizable and very well-done, as is the rest of Dengar's ship. You got any more ships lying around?
  13. Well that's good to know. Time to order like 30.
  14. The newer classic space helmet in black is about to get a lot cheaper on BL, they're in the dreamz sets.
  15. Congrats on what will certainly be first place! It's not quite what I thought they meant by "no bigger than a lambda shuttle", but technically speaking this is no bigger than a lambda shuttle. Seriously, this is the type of moc I'd expect from someone like starbricks after months of lead-up, not as something made for a contest in, what did you say in the other post, 5 days? It's mind-bogglingly good. It's a UCS set, pretty much. The part usage is great all around, and really stands out in places as excellent. The scale is of course incredible as well, this thing is a beast.
  16. I knew something was off, that's totally what it is. It looks like a kid in a costume. You must have missed back when Star-Lord, Bucky, and half the resistance shared a face, or Cap and Hawkeye in the same wave. (And later Han) Lego does this all the time. That said, I think that one fits the character pretty well.
  17. I'll second that. While I personally like fallen order more, I think it's the best SW content of the disney era from a critical perspective. It's leagues above everything else besides RO in terms of character, story, cinematography, etc. That said, not a TON of good opportunities for sets, especially with the age rating. The only two clear options have been discussed to death- the Fondor and the imperial speeder as a battle pack. I could see both coming, but wouldn't expect either. We don't know. A lot of sets have been getting cancelled and postponed both over the past few years. That said, if it was structural or processing reasons (and I can't imagine it was due to controversy, they've done another palace recently), it'll probably show up eventually. Maybe they were having trouble with the new Jabba mold or something.
  18. Yeah, I'm planning on swapping the head/hands for his RO variant, maybe the hair too. The figure in the set looks almost like a senator or diplomat. Syril's even worse though, if you didn't put the name on the box it'd just be a generic corpo. Doesn't even have the orange on the cap. It's insane to me that we don't have one, since they have to know he's desirable and there are so many ways to put him in a set with little risk. A Mantis microfighter, a small duel set with him and an inquisitor, throwing him into an imperial vehicle set, I mean, c'mon, you could've put him in the BD-1 set too. Not to mention that they could just finally give us the Mantis with the whole crew... Yeah that's what, 4606 pieces? 5155 if you count battle for endor. It's definately possible, but man, I wish I had that kind of time. EDIT: Totally forgot that some stores don't care about street dating. Everything but the x-wing's been found significantly earlier.
  19. Before taxes, but doesn't count VIP points.
  20. Yeah, wow. This is significantly better than the marvel ones. For $25-30, I might have been tempted. For $35, though, I'll pass.
  21. The bike set is whatever. Sure. Fine. Fun way for kids to get Cap and Widow, and the bikes aren't as oversized as they could have been. But wow, those constraction figures are horrifying. They are quite possibly the most cursed-looking figures since galidor. They don't even look lego.
  22. Dunno, but I remember missing out on the Revan polybag years ago. I remember not being able to get the mandalorian battle pack in 2020. I remember not being able to grab the executor when I woke up this morning. I'm not sure why you seem to think things don't go out of stock day-of, they very much do.
  23. It's cost them at least one sale this time. I remembered that the 5x points on the Andor set was only in-store after my initial purchase attempt, so now I'm just getting the throne room. (I was extremely on the fence about buying the andor set)
  24. Because time and time again that's 100% not been true. Not even just desirable sets that you'd just have to wait a few weeks for restock or to get somewhere else, but GWPs you'll never have a chance at again. And of course, even getting back into the site, my cart won't load. I think I'm done for the night. This is absurd and they really need to fix it.
