  1. Now that I agree with. Figures are a minor part of UCS sets: the AT-TE "not having good figs to pair with it" is a bad argument as to why we wouldn't see one. For the first part, I think that was fan expectation. Everyone thought it would be Cody when the set was clearly going to be based off AOTC. The second part is definately a dumb statement by the designer, but that's nothing new. (My personal favorite is "fallen order is too violent, that's why it doesn't have sets.") I've actually never heard anyone complain about the model itself before, but if that's your complaint with the set, it's a valid one. What specifically do you dislike about the design?
  2. I keep seeing this, and can't for the life of me figure out why the gunship was a "fiasco". Sure, having a commander instead of a pilot is annoying. For a UCS set, it's a very minor detail. What else makes it a "fiasco", the boxart? Not necessarily, but as it was the Amazon exclusive, just as Vader's Castle was the year before it, my guess is that it definately was. We know lego was extremely jittery about the live-action shows at first due to their failure with rebels, so it makes total sense that any large mando set would be an exclusive, like vader's castle, due to the fear of it not being as popular. Also, consider the Mando+Baby Yoda brickheadz. That's one where we can assume that they definately didn't have the set in development before the show (at least half of it, anyway), and fast-tracked production once baby yoda broke the internet. That set was $20, and they couldn't get it out until August 1st. The crest was $130 and came out just a month later. I think it's almost certain that the Crest was in development before the show as an amazon exclusive, and once baby yoda appeared, a minifig was hastily developed and thrown into the set. Actually, if I remember correctly, at some conventions or something, people noticed that the baby yoda fig was clearly a prototype, while the rest of the set was complete, which corroborates the above theory.
  3. Think about this for a second. When lego was developing the Razor Crest - before Mando released, as it's a larger set- they were 100% not planning on making a UCS one. Lego, until Mando became a smash hit, was notoriously worried about SW TV after their failure with Rebels. There is no possible way that a UCS RC was in development before the release of the show. After mando became a surprise hit, they fast-tracked sets like the Brickheadz, and of course quickly made a baby yoda to throw into the system RC, but we didn't start getting a large number of mando sets until mid-2021. There is NO WAY they were planning on making one of the largest SW sets ever on Mando before it became a hit, since they weren't even comfortable making UCS on the prequels or sequels at the time. Yeah, but he does have a christmas print, unfortuantely.
  4. Not that an AT-TE is entirely unlikely, but this is a perfect example of patterns being coincidences. There are more system set slots open than UCS set slots, so generally speaking, if something's popular enough to get a UCS model made of it, it's most likely going to have been on shelves as a system set in the past few years. You can't seriously tell me that when lego was designing the Razor Crest they were planning on a UCS one coming. A $650 Venator still feels like a pipe dream if I'm being honest. It'll be cool to see, but I'm shocked they didn't go for a cheaper choice like an ETA-2 or ARC-170 first. The gunship must have sold like hotcakes for them to be THIS confident in prequel UCS. The AT-TE is, depending on which source you use for the AT-AT, either only 3-4 meters shorter in length, or 2 meters LONGER. (AT-TE at 22 meters, and AT-AT at either 20 or 25.9, according to wookiepedia. Both AT-AT lengths being for the main version, too, not the larger one from Rebels and Fallen Order.). Now, it is significantly shorter in height, but also has more legs and is bulkier, and of course most of the part count of the AT-AT is going into the top section, not the middle of the legs. $850 like the AT-AT would be a stretch, but something like $650 seems like about where it'd be at lego's current pricing.
  5. Just finished the Well of Souls moments ago. Here's my thoughts: The figures that we get are pretty much perfect. Indy is excellent, Marion is excellent, Sallah is excellent, the Mummy is excellent. My only complaint is more about the fact that we got the Mummy instead of Belloq or Toht, especially considering that these might be the only sets we get, but it's a super small nitpick. On a shelf, it looks significantly better than I was expecting it to. That said, the statues sort of dominate the look of the set, and I'll probably remove them. The wall looks very nice as well. My main complaint with the build is the keetorange used for what's supposed to be gold elements. It works on the statues... it looks rough on the archway, and it's TERRIBLE as a 2x4 on the ark itself. It's awful. Would it have killed them to make an extra part in pearl gold? There are also quite a few stickers, though it's nothing especially egregious. The place this set really shines is play value. The functions are excellent, between the snake-dropping one and the statue that takes out a wall, the mummy drop function, etc. I could definately see kids having a lot of fun with this. All in all, I think I will be disassembling it and remaking it into a display for the figures, but for that 6-12 age range, it's an incredible playset. I hope kids actually get their hands on this, and watch the films! Lego Indiana Jones had just finished by the time I was old enough to see the movies for the first time, and I would have killed for something like this to have been available then.
  6. Gonna be honest, I don't get why people don't like this. It's a significantly visually different iron man suit from the comics, and we don't get many comics figs nowadays. I don't like the new helmet, but for some reason this one's working for me.
  7. I like it, very sleek, and a genius way to make an unmistakably Chiss character without any parts from the expensive Thrawn figure!
  8. I kind of want to see that squad, as I also made a squad using those figures (though really I just tried to make an ARC trooper and standard trooper, and used the spare parts for a different heavy and a sort of infiltrator-looking trooper). Oh, yeah, I purchased that pack a couple days ago alongside the Well of Souls from indiana jones. It's my third copy, and third LSW purchase of the year, I love the set! $20 is a little steep, but I can't pass up those excellent trooper designs, wide range of customizability with all the accessories, and a battle pack side build that's actually canon and not some random speeder (even if it's a bit small.) I almost always build something else with the side build parts and then scrap it into my parts collection after a bit, but these ones are going to get kept around until/unless I get my hands on a more size-accurate AV7.
  9. At the same time, I feel like they go too far secrecy-wise. I mean, would it really have ruined the show if there was an imperial trooper battle pack with those designs? Or for a set of Axe Wove's Gozanti to have released? I'll grant you may be a spoiler, but even then, I feel like an August set with that character would be fine.
  10. I don't think they've ever recycled a dictionary fig, they only do that for those piddly little magazine type things.
  11. I'd argue the 2006 batcave isn't even the best of our current batcaves, but even if you disagree, a $450 one HAS to be better than it. Lego's done some weird stuff recently, but there's no way they make a worse set for quadruple the price.
  12. Still no idea why this wasn't the follow-up to the gunship. If the Venator also does well, I'm almost 100% sure we see this and the ETA-2 within the next 3-4 years. Yup, Havoc Marauder is great. I refuse to re-attempt that damnable Ventress Fighter, though, even as a microfighter. It's one of the only sets I've begun production on but been defeated by. I'll throw a Nu-class shuttle in to oppose the marauder for now, though the spot will be soft-open. I like the maul idea, but I think I'm actually gonna do a microscale temple as the diorama, as I don't think I could do it justice at polybag size. Any idea as to which Jedi I should throw in? Also like the quote idea, that'll definately be on the radar for next year. I don't want to make any commitment to doing it now, but I like the microscale idea, so if I've got time I might come back for it. Near-finalized list: Havoc Marauder Microfighter ($9.99): Tech (S2) (SOFT OPEN-YOU CAN SUGGEST A REPLACEMENT TO MY IDEA) Imperial attack shuttle Microfighter ($9.99): Imperial Crosshair. Teddythespoon's Microfighter duel pack: Anakin and Sebulba's Podracers ($19.99): Anakin and Sebulba Mandalorianknight's New Republic battle pack ($14.99): 3x new republic fleet trooper, 1x new republic bridge crew. Build is a 74-Z in rebel colors with a small terminal for the crew. (Yeah, this one's me. I want a NR trooper pack.) ARC2149Nova's 212th troopers battle pack ($19.99): 3x 212th trooper, 1x 212th airborne. Build is a BARC Speeder Arrowbricks's Coruscant hanger duel ($19.99): Coruscant hanger with collapsing door. Comes with Dooku and Yaddle. Teddythespoon's Imperial V-wing Starfighter ($24.99): Imperial V-wing with 2x TK trooper and 2x Clone Commando Arrowbricks's Naboo Fighter Vs vulture droid ($59.99): Young Anakin Skywalker, Naboo Fighter Pilot, Padme (battle dress), 2x b1 battle droid, 1x B1 commander. ARC2149Nova's ARC-170 Starfighter ($79.99): Captain Jag, 2x clone pilot, Republic astromech, Plo Koon, Commander Wolffe, 2x buildable droidikas. Big_daddy and Per_SW's Z-95 Headhunter and TIE Predator (Celebration Exclusive "Truth in legends", $99.99): Each fighter has a display plaque, with the Z-95 plaque fitting Corran Horn and the TIE predator plaque fitting Gunn Yage. A middle display plaque has the quote "There's always a bit of truth in legends" with figures of Mara Jade, Galen Marek, and Darth Revan. YourLocalB2's Jango Fett's Slave One ($119.99): Slave One has interior cockpit and cargo bay. Fits Jango Fett, Boba Fett, Taun We, Lama Su, Obi-Wan, R4-P17, 2x Clone trooper (in red fatigues) Arrowbricks's Republic Acclamator Star Destroyer ($169.99): Admiral Yularan, 2x clone officer (No armor), Adi Gallia, Neyo, and 2x 91st trooper. A speeder bike fits in the lower bay of the ship. Maybe 2. We'll see what I can fit down there. Arc2149nova's Battle on Mustafar ($59.99): The "High Ground", lava river, and fallen tower. Comes with Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. a small drawer behind the "high ground" allows for swapping between 3 quotes: "You were my brother, Anakin! I loved you!", "You were the chosen one!", and, of course, "It's over Anakin! I have the high ground!" YourlocalB2's Executor Bridge ($89.99): Executor bridge with crew pit and upper level w/hunters. Two swappable quotes: "Bounty hunters. We don't need their scum." and "No disintegrations". Comes with Boba Fett, Dengar, 4-Lom, Zuckuss, IG-88, Bossk, Admiral Piett, and Vader. Mandalorianknight's UCS AT-RT and BARC Speeder ($199.99): Display plaque for each. Comes with 1x AT-RT driver and 1x p2 clone trooper, each with arm printing. Is this a joke? Yeah, a little. Doesn't mean I'm not making it. GWP: TIE Reaper polybag GWP: Jedi Temple Diorama: Comes with a jedi, yet-to-be-decided. By far my biggest list yet, and that's not counting the potential third quote set. I'm excited to get started.
  13. Ah man, they got Fluffy? RIP. Because Promobricks doesn't want to risk getting their contacts fired, so they have to be careful. They leak what information they can without implicating their sources, and while that means sometimes we get info on stuff pretty far away, it also means sometimes we just have to be patient. Promobricks might well know what the marvel sets are for later this year, or have more details on some of the ones we know are coming. But they're likely worried that not enough people know that info, and that publishing the info could lead to them losing their contact.
  14. Wave 2-if it happens- will 100% be The Mandalorian, a Luke variant, and some variation clone trooper, likely one that's not in a battle pack, but not exceedingly difficult to get. I'd put money on it. Same way I'd say I'm confident we get a Mando diorama next year if those continue. Excellent episode with very clear battle pack potential. I'm also so incredibly happy for , who's made his love for The Mandalorian very clear. I'm glad he got to be part of it.
  15. $85 coin is a weird choice, just do a promo fig or mini build, but sure. Looks cool. I'll get the throne room on the 4th so I will end up with this and the X-wing. That death star though... does not look great, especially for a $160 threshold.
  16. C'mon, man. Have some decency.
  17. It's a gamble. My guess is the next AT-ST will indeed be a standard imperial one, but it's possible lego waits until 2025/2026 to make one. That said, the 2016 walker is still excellent, and there's one on BL for $40 in the UK that's complete (missing figs, though.) Surprisingly in the US at least there are quite a few at $30-50 with and without figs, which surprised me, as I would have expected it to go up in price more. Thank you! It appears the ship is canon in 3 variants, though I'll probably make the four-engine-d legends one as opposed to another Clone one or the weird 2-engine one from Commander. They're all good, but I had to draw special attention to the Havoc Marauder for dunking on the official set. What's funny is you could probably even keep the 2021 set's $99.99 price point and just omit the speeders while still allowing for a larger ship!
  18. Ironically the one most likely to be released is set smack dab in the OT. (That said, it seems to be a loose heir to the empire adaption, so there's a LOT of stuff they could bring in from that in legends. Chariot assault craft, skipray blastboats, the Wild Karrde, Karrde's base, etc.) Even so, the only one I'm willing to let myself be 100% confident in is the Filoni movie, due to it's tie-in to mando and the fact that it's being made by a SW veteran. If Indy 5 is received poorly, based on Lucasfilm's usual strategy, Mangold will be let go from his film if the film even survives. And while the Rey film has an actress on board, I'm still not confident that it gets made.
  19. Not that I don't agree on a more general level that KK should probably have been removed after the sequels, but I am almost 100% confident that she has absolutely nothing to do with the specific indiana jones merchandise we're getting. I feel like if lego had the opportunity to say they canned it over "values misalignment" or whatever, they'd do it instantly, as they've had no problem saying so in the past. I think the main rumor that an element of the set wasn't working right is probably the truth. I do wonder what level of control Lucasfilm exerts over this. Since Hasbro is making a solid amount of ToD figures, and of course a lego ToD set managed to get pretty dang far in development, I doubt lucasfilm had some directive against ToD sets, but I wouldn't be surprised if they requested KotCS material be kept to a minimum. At the same time, though, you'd think they'd want the merch companies pushing DoD hard, which makes me think the toy companies have some real say in what gets made into sets. From a film perspective, you want as much direct tie-in merch around as possible to build hype, but from a merch maker perspective, you want to focus on the stuff you KNOW people love, and therefore will sell.
  20. Quote set is genius and added. I'm torn on Jango's Slave one as I really want to do it, but the list is already almost entirely prequel sets, but... actually, yeah, we're just gonna do a prequel-centric wave. I really want to try Jango's Slave One. I'm up to the challenge! We've needed them all (I mean, we technically had Neyo, but he needs a unique helmet) for awhile, so done. Those are the figs. This is how the list is looking now. Just missing some microfighters and the GWPs, which I'll leave open for now, but I think I am gonna start working on the MOCs themselves now instead of waiting until after the May 4th contest. (OPEN) 2 microfighters Teddythespoon's Microfighter duel pack: Anakin and Sebulba's Podracers ($19.99): Anakin and Sebulba Mandalorianknight's New Republic battle pack ($14.99): 3x new republic fleet trooper, 1x new republic bridge crew. Build is a 74-Z in rebel colors with a small terminal for the crew. (Yeah, this one's me. I want a NR trooper pack.) ARC2149Nova's 212th troopers battle pack ($19.99): 3x 212th trooper, 1x 212th airbourne. Build is a BARC Speeder Arrowbricks's Coruscant hanger duel ($19.99): Coruscant hanger with collapsing door. Comes with Dooku and Yaddle. Teddythespoon's Imperial V-wing Starfighter ($24.99): Imperial V-wing with 2x TK trooper and 2x Clone Commando Arrowbricks's Naboo Fighter Vs vulture droid ($59.99): Young Anakin Skywalker, Naboo Fighter Pilot, Padme (battle dress), 2x b1 battle droid, 1x B1 commander. ARC2149Nova's ARC-170 Starfighter ($79.99): Captain Jag, 2x clone pilot, Republic astromech, Plo Koon, Commander Wolffe, 2x buildible droidikas. (OPEN) 1 retail polybag set, like a small vehicle or something (OPEN) 2 GWP style sets: a small 40-ish pc polybag and a 100-200ish pc set. Something like the Lars Kitchen or Endor diorama set. Almost done, just a couple small slots left!
  21. @TeddytheSpoon, that's a super interesting idea, I might try my hand at one later. Yours is very good, with that mix of desirable figures, generic ones, and mini-builds. I was going to say that two exclusive figs is too much for SW, but they have started spreading the prints out to different characters, so I think Cobb and Kuill are definately possible (Say Cobb has unique torso and head prints, and Kuill just has an exclusive torso, or something.) If it's OK with you, I want to throw all of the quoted into my MOC wave for the summer. Great suggestions. I've taken the Duel and Acclamator and added them to the list. The Aldhani heist is a maybe, as I saw a solid MOC of it awhile back and don't want to be influenced too much by it. Naboo Starfighter Vs Vulture droid is good as-is, but what do you think of splitting them into Mando's N-1 and putting the Vulture droid in a set with an ARC-170? I don't really have a preference either way, so it's up to you. If you're good with it, I'll throw this into my MOC wave as, like, a "retail exclusive" or something. This is how the list is looking now, assuming @Big_Daddy and @ARC2149Nova are OK with their ideas being made into MOCs: (OPEN) 2 microfighters @TeddytheSpoon's Microfighter duel pack: Anakin and Sebulba's Podracers ($19.99): Anakin and Sebulba (OPEN) 1 battle pack (I'm thinking new republic troopers from Ahsoka unless anyone's got another idea) @ARC2149Nova's 212th troopers battle pack ($19.99): 3x 212th trooper, 1x 212th airbourne. Build is a BARC Speeder (I did a crab droid in a battle pack for the first MOC wishlist wave, and don't want to repeat) @ArrowBricks's Coruscant hanger duel ($19.99): Coruscant hanger with collapsing door. Comes with Dooku and Yaddle. @TeddytheSpoon's Imperial V-wing Starfighter ($24.99): Imperial V-wing with 2x TK trooper and 2x Clone Commando (This has become the semi-battle pack) @Big_Daddy's Z-95 Headhunter (Celebration Exclusive, $49.99): Mara Jade, 1x New Republic pilot, 1x New republic soldier, 1x NR astromech (NR figs with appearances based on Empire at War). (OPEN) 400-600 piece system set. @ARC2149Nova's ARC-170 Starfighter ($79.99, or $99.99 if it has a vulture droid.): Captain Jag, 1x clone pilot, Republic astromech, Plo Koon, 2x buildible droidikas. (If vulture droid: Commander Wolffe, 2x wolfpack trooper.) (OPEN) 1000-1300 piece system set. @ArrowBricks's Republic Acclamator Star Destroyer ($169.99): Admiral Yularan, 2x clone officer (No armor). 1x jedi, 1x named clone, and 2x clone trooper. Someone tell me who. @ARC2149Nova Battle on Mustafar ($59.99): The "High Ground", lava river, and fallen tower. Comes with Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. a small drawer behind the "high ground" allows for swapping between 3 quotes: "You were my brother, Anakin! I loved you!", "You were the chosen one!", and, of course, "It's over Anakin! I have the high ground!" (OPEN) 1 quote set (700-1000 pcs) (OPEN) 1 retail polybag set, like a small vehicle or something (OPEN) 2 GWP style sets: a small 40-ish pc polybag and a 100-200ish pc set. Something like the Lars Kitchen or Endor diorama set. A great start, only a couple opened slots. I've got some ideas to fill them if necessary, either new ones or throwing in more of Arrowbricks's bad batch sets. Current setup is 7 prequel era, 1 legends, so ideally the OT/mando era would have the remaining slots.
  22. Alright, so these are all fair points. They also bring up the point that it's difficult to say what exactly is and isn't an anniversary set. (Boushh and the brickheadz both obviously are, since they're based on ROTJ and have ROTJ packing, but in general.) For instance, I think even if the dioramas didn't have ROTJ anniversary packaging or plaques, most people would count them. The Executor's plaque makes it an ROTJ set, but were it missing that, would we count it? The bomber, in my opinion, doesn't count as an ROTJ set, since the figs aren't from it, even though it has the packaging. For AOTC, does the starfighter count? It's based on the film and correlates to the anniversary, but didn't have any packaging recognizing it. Regardless, no matter how you decide what is and isn't an anniversary set, ROTJ's anniversary has had significantly more for it than any other SW media anniversary in recent times, which was my original point.
  23. Maybe he does have info, but the way I read this is just speculation, and since Hasbro's action figure choices are wild anyway, I think it's just more likely no one's made the Thuggees yet. There are Thuggee-adjacent action figures like hypnotized Indy, too, so I wouldn't count them out yet.
  24. I mean, we're getting 3 ROTJ anniversary sets (2 dioramas and the midi-scale one). Beats out the anniversaries of pretty much any other movie in recent times. CW03 got the same number of sets, but based on the era, not the show itself. ESB got the AT-AT and some convention exclusives, and AOTC got nothing (though I'd hazard a guess the AT-TE was meant to be one before being changed to a ROTS set to fit cody).
