what to take care of when purchasing Lego from unknown someone
ks6349 replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
In fact, could there be still any signs or clues I can find if the box is once opened (even very carefully) but then resealed? On youtube someone showed that he opened the box with heater stuff like hair dryer and the box is opened nicely. It's so worrying ! -
used Lego from other people / sellers. How would you clean it? What is the cleaning agent I can safely use with Lego? soap? dish-washing detergent? Can I wash the bricks with washing machine? And how would you dry them the most quickly and convieniently

Different markets, different Lego outer box?
ks6349 replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've got two sets for example. 60219 (No number of pieces) and 60184 (Yes number of pieces bought in USA), the touch and feel of the outer box is a huge difference. -
I've got a number of Lego city sets of recent years from different sources. They are probably for different markets because some states the number of pieces while the other do not, and some with Chinese or Asian like characters while the other do not. I found that boxes without number of pieces usually more shiny like polished, while those with number of pieces are less shiny. Do you find the same issue? I don't have the same set from different sources to compare but they are also the recent City set. Or is it just different due to a different set and have nothing to do with the market?

I'd like to purchase some long retired set but ebay is very uncommon here in my country and most of the retailed shops usually only sell new and recent sets. The only way to buy here is to buy through local forums, meet them nearby and trade with cash. I am thinking, if it's still possible that they could cheat if the box is sealed with four original plastic tapes without sign of re-taping? From time to time, I've heard about cases like mini-figures being stolen or in some more severe cases, Lepin or other non-Lego bricks put inside. Is there any way to determine if the box is never opened?

set unopened for many years, any problems?

extreme heat and cold cycle? Winter here could be below 0 degree cel. while summer could be up to 35 degree cel. and if I put the Lego in my car maybe it's 40+ degree cel. Is it extreme cycle -
for example, will the parts like light bricks deteriorate? or will the "glow in the dark” part lose its ability to glow in the dark?

Wish Lego would give up stickers completely and invest on printed bricks. We are happy to pay more for the increased cost.

Do you also think that 10257 (Carousel) is a bit too big
ks6349 replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It's obviously too big IN PROPORTIONAL to other expert buildings e.g. modular buildings, Ferris Wheel and 10261...etc..... compared to the real life situation -
I will certainly not buy this one unless I have unlimited money

Is it possible to glue a slight plastic film like we did it for school certificate on top of the whole sticker sheet first and then use it?

Retrobricker is rebuilding old LEGO sets
ks6349 replied to Retrobricker's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I meant, wish you'll rebuild set 6349 while replacing the retired bricks with new bricks (because I believe some are retired or hard to find) -
Sometimes storing skills are more important than heights and spaces

Ninjago City ? Which set numbers do you recommend? Not a budget issue, but I don't very like Diner and Garage , but I only like Expert buildings that are still available and not retired. -
No third-party design so far which makes me feel that their instruction is worth a penny. For $14 dollars I would rather get a beautiful garbage truck. 60220
