695 pieces currently. A cursory look at BrickLink showed $170 before shipping and handling.

In LDD or Stud.io it's two button clicks. In real life, the ingots will be a problem. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=99563#T=C&C=77 They don't come in a lot of colors, but I suppose those could be easily swapped out with 1x2 tiles.

Great! I know myself and several others are very much looking forward to this!!
-
Will you be willing to share the 3D files when you're done? Alternatively, will you be selling instructions?
-
Love the way you designed the red cockpit!!! Much more elegant than TLG's approach.
-
@Arkeeos you could use the claw piece that OneCase used on his design for the turrets. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=88811#T=C

Mine is 1:2600. Looks like @obijon's is about the same size, somewhere around 14 studs in length. The ISD would need to be roughly 75 studs or 2 feet in length to be at the same scale.

[PRESS RELEASE] 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer
Brick-Wombat replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Star Wars
100% agree. However, those "pro teams" come at a heftier price typically. Pros and cons to all. After some extensive modding, I'm sure 75252 could look even more impressive that it is now. -
[PRESS RELEASE] 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer

Price per piece is an overrated metric. Price per volume or price per weight is a much better metric in my opinion. With as many large pieces this set has, $700 seems about right. -
Very nice! We used some similar techniques, but you certainly captured some details that mine did not.

[PRESS RELEASE] 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer
Brick-Wombat replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Star Wars
A beautiful upgrade over 10030!!! Looking forward to some first reviews! Still have to hand the aesthetic prize to Raskolnikov, OneCase, and Jerac, but I'm sure a bit of tiling and extra greebling could do wonders! Thanks for sharing, @VBBN! -
The Dreadnaught Class Heavy Cruiser is a Star Wars warship well known from the lost Katana Fleet of the Thrawn Trilogy. At 600 meters, it was roughly half the length of a Venator and could be configured with varying combinations of turbolasers, point defense cannons, and missiles. Most of these would be located in the hull "blisters" similar to Mon Calamari ships. I was recently acquainted with the cruiser as I'm reading through the Thrawn Trilogy (Half way through the second book at the moment). Not the most sophisticated-looking ship, but a fun one to design nonetheless. As usual, it's designed to 1:2600 scale. Some additional views in the spoiler below...

Apologies for not seeing your comment earlier @Xelveki. And thank you! However, I'm not going to make instructions, so if you'd like the 3D files, please feel free to PM me.

Thank you. For perspective, I put it next to Kristof's Venator. The Battlecruiser comes in at roughly half the length, 560m vs 1137m. Despite being from different universes, I always love to see ship size comparisons.

Off topic from Lego a bit, but these pictures from the trailer make me think of the lost Katana Fleet from the Thrawn trilogy. An old fleet of warships that was lost/hidden in space only to be found later and used for a big fight. Fun fact, the Katana Fleet used a "slave circuit system" which allowed the ships to be manned by a skeleton crew... sounds perfect for a band of desperate resistance fighters!

Looking sharp!! The red stripe gives it a much more menacing look for sure.

Starcraft has remained one of my favorite strategy games, and I don't think there's a more iconic ship in the game than the battlecruiser. This was built at the 1:2600 scale, which I've become rather enamored with after building Kristof's Venator Destroyer (as seen on Rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-18951/KristofPucejdl/venator-class-republic-attack-cruiser/#info) Time will tell if I build this IRL. I don't think all the pieces are available in the colors shown below.

Anybody know the part number for the round 2x2 dark gray piece in the center of the fuselage?

@bricksmarlin I'm just impressed with the fleet of B-wings you're building! -
Exceptional as always.

[MOC] Mobquet M-68 landspeeder (Han Solo speeder)
Brick-Wombat replied to barneius's topic in LEGO Star Wars
You captured the design to perfection! Nicely done. -
Looks like you created a very rigid built while still capturing a lot of the important aesthetics of the ship. Well done!

@BEAVeR Wow! Thank you for such a thorough assessment! Your suggested improvements are especially insightful, and I'll certainly consider them. You highlighted some of the key things I would like to change or improve in the future. The left/right engine tips don't look very clean at the moment, the hangar build is a bit bland, the trench could use some more variety than just the hinge plates, and my attempt to cover up the gap in the nose with the tiles doesn't blend very well with the angular shape. I'll be sure to post any updates here. And thanks again! @ProvenceTristram Will keep you posted. There are a couple subtle things I need to clean up on the inside, but, if I make this public, I'll probably just share the 3D file on Rebrickable.

@Ellisss_2 Thanks for enlightening me! Goes to show how little I know about the ship. =/ @ProvenceTristram Noted. What type of game is it? The only games I've played recently are SC2, BFV, and TW:WH, so I'm a bit out of touch with the gaming world.
