  1. I left the sets with two elemental colors in addition to the grey/silver intentionally and I also wanted to try uncommon color schemes (dark blue/blue was never used together in a set and dark red/bright light orange was only used in Malum). I definitely see where are you coming from, though and I must admit the legitimacy of your insights. Thanks for the comment!
  2. Thanks, much appreciated! As for the Toa of 2008, I wanted to see more elemental colors, so I gave each of them a secondary one besides the grey/silver. As with the Makuta, I tried to modify the Mistika sets to fit the Phantoka tagline to have more group cohesion - Hahli's wings were added to Gali as well as Toa Ignika's Skyboard to Onua. In addition to these changes, I also wanted the Matorans to reflect the elemental affinity of their Toa partners, so they wield the weapons of the Toa Nuva from 2003. Sarda proved to be a somewhat efficient replacement for a missing red Av-Matoran. The Kanoka also serves as a connecting motif between the two. The same deal with Idris: imo the Huna and Ruru do bear some resemblance to the adaptive version of Hau and Kaukau, respectively. The only mask resembling the adaptive Pakari would have been the Turaga Dume version of Kraahkan (which I don't have), so I paired Onua with the Skyboard instead of a Matoran. Livelier color schemes with Lewa, Kopaka and Pohatu, but nothing new otherwise, basically. Comments and criticism are still welcome, as always.
  3. Thanks a bunch! It's a really nice piece, would be nice to see more from the artist.
  4. Does anyone know where can the Tahu image promoting the Netflix series be found? Do we know the artist? (Yeah, there are countries where Netflix isn't available.) Thanks in advance.
  5. It's on the left thigh.
  6. Well, in this sense Radiak had been the 'Vahki' one in the first place - I literally just swapped their builds. The Staff of Suggestion was used to mimic the hook part of Vamprah's weapon. It was intentional: I wanted to give the set an accent color to have a more interesting color scheme as well as to have a better cohesion with Kirop/the rest of the team with dual color schemes. Thank you guys for the comments, much appreciated. :)
  7. Some alterations to the 2008 sets with the Mistika half modified to fit the Phantoka tagline somewhat. Nothing groundbreaking, I swapped the body type of Radiak and Gavla to match their respective Phantoka. I decided to give the Mistika Makuta some Shadow Matoran as well - in this case, the Rahkshi head was an obvious choice to mimic the Crast. And a little twist: since I've never liked or bought Gorast, Corroder and Toxic Reapa make a good stand-in to be the green pair of the Makuta. Comments & criticism are welcome. Folder when public.
  8. I have no first-hand experience (yet), but according to experts the sticker sheet material becomes rigid and starts to decay in a rather unspectacular way over the years.
  9. It's interesting to see different stances on the topic - personally, I've always considered them robots and I wouldn't like it at all if they were presented as real people. That would feel really out-of-mythology. But just my opinion, of course.
  10. Even without the tail flapping function, it looks great. I'm kinda tempted to experiment with this siren build as well. Great job!
  11. Umm, that's really nice of you for sure and I might not be popular with this sentiment, but I don't see the point of so much effort and tracking people down for the sake of maybe-tomorrow maybe-descriptions when NYCC is within weeks... but that's just me. Even when it seems confimed and TTV is about to explode.
  12. Likely a mistake imo, even though it's definitely not white at 0:22 either.
  13. My thoughts exactly. IIRC the 2016 thread on TTV was temporarily closed for the same reason.
  14. When someone posts a confidential image, they are rarely aware it's a fake (except when it's for the lulz like in this case).
  15. As with the other topic, my minor modifications to Lewa and Pohatu. My changes applied to the other sets are really negligible, just replacing one or two elements with a different color. Each of my Toa features the brain attack torso to emphasize the group theme (and it doesn't pose a problem since I don't own Onua). In Lewa's case, I didn't like the whole simian vibe with the long arms, so I made them shorter, but I had to figure out how to attach the blades in adrenaline mode. The solution isn't the best, but I'm fine with how it looks. For me, the favored color of the sixth element has always been yellow, so I wanted to reflect that with Lewa's keetorange armor pieces. Folder when it becomes public.
  16. Most of us are eagerly waiting for leaks and I thought I post some pics here in the meantime and showcase my alternate builds of the summer wave. No major changes, just a little more black here and there to have more of a cohesion as a villain team. As I'm not really fond of the two newer skull masks, I also used the skull spider mask on each model. (Pictures are awful in quality, but options are limited as far as photos go.) I envisioned Skull Basher and Skull Warrior as counterparts of Kopaka and Gali, respectively, so I swapped the color schemes and gave Grinder's build to Basher to match Kopaka in size. In return, Grinder got the build (in effect, the legs) of this year's larger combination model. I also really liked VBBN's modifications to Scorpio, so I went with that. Comments and criticism are welcome. Folder when it becomes public.
  17. If the set names are real, "unifier of fire" is rather meh.
  18. Tr. neon green is also a great solution for those who are not fond of keetorange, adding some nice contrast which the tr. bright green can't.
  19. Exactly. VBBN's photos really capture the height difference perfectly. Except for Grinder, of course.
  20. U talkin 'bout LoSS, right? Jokes aside it's pretty subjective of course, but I haven't seen such a hideous-looking set with such a boring and ineffective function in a long time. That chestplate print is just no.
  21. Despite the local factory, no bonkles in Hungary either.
  22. I understand the given pairings, but in terms of design, Triceratops Trapper is much closer to the T-Rex Tracker imo.
  23. Well, the new dinosaur figs look really nice, but the vehicles and the HQ are amazingly underwhelming. Blocky, bland and uninspired with boring color schemes - OK, they are based on a movie, got it, but still. (That truck in 75917! Clearly adopted from the 80s.)
  24. These aren't labeled as Space Wars anymore - where's the consistency with Grievous? : (
  25. LEGO: sets produced by LEGO. End of story.
