  1. It looks nice, but it's not worth it for me to spend so much on it. I'd really only want it for the figures, since I'm not looking for a lump of black parts to display. Sadly, I'm sure I won't own those figures, since they'll easily go for a huge amount in the aftermarket.
  2. I suppose I am justifying that; and in fact I am. As I said, customizers like Christo are not just copying, they are changing mediums. It's one thing to make a knock-off of a painting, it's another to transform a copy of a 2D painting into a 3D sculpture. But we also should not forget that Christo is not the only customizer who is being stolen from. Many other customizers who make their own non-game-identical designs have been stolen from. And we cannot forget that cost is influenced by demand. Christo sells some of his figures on EBay, where buyers bid for them. All of his figures start their bid at $17 or less, no doubt for cost of materials and printing--it's the high demand that allows the bids to reach over $100 in some instances. And they know he does not sell multiples of the figure at the same time; they too choose to keep bidding the the prices get high instead of waiting for the next round. If you don't feel sorry for the customizers, do you feel it's right what the bootleggers are doing? They don't just steal from customizers, but also Lego directly, attempting to make 1:1 replicas of official figures.
  3. While there are better forums to discuss this, I'd like to throw out my three cents on this (cus I'm worth the extra penny!) A major reason I dislike these bootleggers (aside from the fact that they're selling counterfeit products to begin with) is that they steal designs from customizers such as Christo and others, some of whom I know from the community and have met in person. I very much feel there's a difference in describing who is stealing from whom. As the example was with Christo's Flash, I'll stick with that. I don't consider my Christo Flash (as I own one) a stolen design; even though it is based off of his video game appearance. Christo takes the image from the video game medium and makes it physical in the brick medium. He's making something tangible out of an intangible "image". The difference with the bootleggers is that they are just stealing the tangible objects directly. They take something you can already own, touch, and hold in your hand, and then making an inferior replica, passing it off as their own. I don't feel it's right to suggest the bootleggers are on the same morality level as customizers simply because both use designs from TT Games. Customizers like Christo use TT Games designs. Bootleggers use Christo's designs of TT Games designs. They're different, and one is a lot more in the wrong.
  4. Kinda confused. JLU ended in 2006; and while I love the show and the DC Animated universe I cannot see Lego making anything based on it, at least not anytime soon.
  5. Off the top it doesn't seem like a good way to spend time. Aside from both being Batcaves, they are very different. They don't have the same color scheme, structure, style, or similar sizes. They're just not compatible.
  6. Darn! Darn! Darny Darn Darn! Oh well. I'm mad that he's exclusive, and a villain character since we could always use more of those. Still I have to admit he doesn't seem too accurate to me, at least not with that hair; he was hard to recognize for a minute. I'm more concerned about that exclusive classic Batmobile!
  7. Although not a minifigure itself, some here may be interested in seeing my minifigure scale brick-built Blob figure.
  8. Exactly! Come on; I mean if you're going to have a team made up of a bunch of A-holes, they darn better well match! Otherwise, they'll just look like what, a bunch of A-holes!
  9. Really? Really Lego? I'm not sure what's worse, making new exclusive characters for Comic Con or making an exclusive variant of a character that actually matches all the other characters on his team. And one that actually looks far better than the now crappy looking variant that we (meaning everyone not at SDCC, which is a lot) won't be able to get our hands on--at least not without dropping our wallets for it in the aftermarket. Shame! Shame on you Lego!
  10. It's basically the same design, granted with different colors. Although that game design is not even possible due to a lack of correct colors and the tentacle size is also smaller then what's possible. Thanks. He uses the Hulk polybag minifigure torso.
  11. My latest creation, Spider-Man vs. The Sinister Six, features none other than six Spider-Man villains, many of whom are new purist versions. Vulture, Sandman (Brick-built), Kraven the Hunter (Non-Purist, Custom Legs), Electro, Mysterio, and Doctor Octopus.
  12. Spider-Man vs. The Sinister Six The heroic web-swinger Spider-Man juggles saving the lives of the endangered construction crew and his own life when the coalition of villains known as the Sinister Six attacks! This is my largest Marvel creation to date, and it also features the most Marvel characters in one build. It is inspired in large part by the TV show “Spectacular Spiderman” both in the look of some characters and the setting. This creation also emphasizes the duties of a hero; here Spider-Man is shown not concerned with his own life, but with the lives of the nearby construction workers. Spider-Man shoots webs to help support and protect the scaffolding structure; and he also shoots a web to save a falling worker, all while in the grainy grips of Sandman. Electro Electro gliding to battle on the NY power lines. Originally, the idea for the creation (Which is very old at this point) was to only include a classic Electro and Sandman in the same setting, but upon discovering Lego swapped classic Electro (In the set prelims) for the Ultimate version, I shelved the creation. I also contemplated using a custom classic-styled Electro instead; and trans-yellow electricity was constructed for the creation; but after seeing it was not as bright as I would have liked, I settled on the official figure and the brighter blue color theme. Sandman The morphing sand-monster grows from the ground to capture Spider-Man! Apparently it’s much easier to make a brick built Sandman then a minifigure scale one—or at least that’s what I tell myself. The build didn’t require a minifigure scale Sandman anyways, but the build version did turn out with a Clayface vibe. Incidentally, the Sandman that was constructed turned out almost exactly like a Clayface concept I’ve wanted to build for a significant period; it’s basically just a color swap of that idea. I'm very happy with how he turned out, especially considering I used basically every tan slope I could find, ergo meaning I need to get more! Vulture The Vulture here is based on his Spectacular Spider-Man appearance out of necessity. I would have loved to make a classic green version, but keeping it purist makes that impossible. The trans-red Falcon wings mixed with bat-arm wings however makes a great combination for that costume variant. Kraven the Hunter Getting ready to spear Spider-Man, Kraven the Hunter is the only figure of the group that is not purist; he uses custom legs originally made for my Cheetah figure. Mysterio Mysterio flies above the battle...mysteriously. This figure is a revamped version of my previous Mysterio; however he is not based on any particular version of the character. If you're wondering, the object inside the trans-clear dome is the CMF Nurse scrub hat. Doctor Octopus Very much a mix of the official figure and the tentacle design seen on my previous Doctor Octopus. His larger claws were swapped for smaller ones in this creation, both due to required connections, weight concerns, and a lack of parts. Saving the Day "Everybody gets one. Tell him Peter." "Deadpool senses tingling! Need pizza! " The Sinister Six Enjoy! ~Nemo
  13. Sounds fun! And I'm off on another building adventure!
  14. I've not had problems preordering from GameStop for the game and figure--other than lateness--apparently preorder means the game arrives days later. Last time I did this was for Lego Batman 2. However, personally, I'm going to wait a bit before I preorder. I don't see anything about a preorder figure on the site, and I don't want some mishap to happen where I order now and don't get Plastic Man later.
  15. It's good to see more Justice League members, especially ones like Plastic Man. He looks fantastic, although I do have to admit I wish he was in his more iconic costume. Still, he's a must have.
  16. He also appears to have higher up leg printing for outer underwear. I think that looks great--very classic. I think it's a topic that should be brought up. True, you are right that some figures do not need the printing, but others very much do. To me, the official Flash is incomplete, since he's missing his arguably most defining feature--his yellow boots. I don't understand the lack of leg printing either, especially when you consider basically every other theme features it prominently. I do agree with the renders part; we saw a classic Electro in the spidey-prelim and I want a classic Electro!
  17. Green Lantern, Green Arrow, half the Justice League, Killer Moth...ok maybe not the last one, but for the record I'd take a Killer Moth over anyone!
  18. My eyes! They burn almost as badly as they do when I see TNMT movie figs! I think if that was the Vulture we'd get, I'd pass on it. Although I think it's more likely we'd get a comic version anyways--if anything so Lego can not include a hair piece. I don't know what it is, but the superhero line loves bald headed figures. Granted I've not checked, but I bet it's safe to say at least half or more of all the superhero sets have one or more figures without hair accessories. I cannot see us getting an Alfred anytime soon. He really only fits with a Batcave set, so until we get a new one in a few years (movie version or otherwise), I cannot see us getting one. Although I don't see that as too much of a loss--there's far more characters who would be more useful that we don't yet have. And if not a set, I could also see him popping up in a DC minifigure book or something (which I actually think is the same way we'd get a Stan Lee figure); he seems perfect for that.
  19. Then in that instance Joker's implied violence is still far more, well violent. Bane just shoots people and break necks; these things and worse can be found in many other films p, including other properties/films Lego makes sets for. Joker stabs, shoots, blows up, sicks dogs, throws from windows, and lights people on fire...among other things. Implied or shown directly, they are far more violent.
  20. I'm sure the lack of a DK Joker is due to both his physical appearance and his actions in the film itself. For the record, as I've said before, I feel the latter is the more likely reason. I don't care how much people say Bane was more violent then Joker--the Joker put a pencil through someone's eyes for peats sake! Bane just snapped some necks--everyone does that, even Superman. He's not more violent than DK Joker. Anyways, I think it's strange that we'd get one now anyways (granted I don't understand the need for another Tumbler set either), considering Lego already could have made one for the first Tumbler set, which tied directly to the film. They didn't, and it was arguably the best time to include one. Frankly, I could see him more likely showing up as a Con exclusive figure, which he'd seem perfect for, granted that would anger tons of fans who couldn't get one.
  21. I don't think people complained about getting a Man-Bat (Complaining about the design however is another thing), since it seemed expected what with the Monster Fighters/CMF Bat-figs. I do think it's a bit of a stretch to confirm a Scarface fig from this comic. I would love to get one, since he's one of my favorite characters from Batman: The Animated Series (And appears to be based off that costume wise), but it could just a easily be a case of artistic liberty; the comic drawers don't have to stick to set/figs only. I don't know if we'll see him this next wave, but I'd be shocked if we didn't get Green Lantern and Brainiac to tie-in with the game. On the topic of a D2C Marvel set, I think that the X-Mansion has arguably the best reasoning to require such a large set, and I think it would sell quite well; however I cannot see it coming out for a while. Lego missed there chance to have a semi-tie-in with this last X-Movie, so I don't think they'd be willing to put one out now; at least not until the next X-Movie is going to be released. I do think it's got the best chance as a Marvel D2C set; most other options are large towers with strange (Design wise) features--like the Avengers tower, which apparently will have a Quinjet hanger in the next Avengers (And hinted at near the end of the first one).
  22. Well unfortunately that Scarface is not possible without some new body piece--there's no way he could hold that gun, still he could be a possibility. But man, we need a Green Lantern now; it's torture seeing him in Lego movies, games, comics, flashlights; everything but a minifigure!
  23. Looks great, and that was a wonderful video. Hopefully Hothbricks is right on the price of $34, since that would be great. I'm not a major Si-Fi fan, but this set comes with some great things, specifically the minifigures, who I think will fit in well color wise with the older spacemen (Since it's not a "new" color, green has been around for a long time).
  24. Direct to Consumer. These are large sets sold directly to customers through Lego stores and the Lego website only.
  25. The new info we are getting on this set really doesn't make sense. We know it's UCS, which generally means large scale--ergo not minifigure scale. So why would we get two minifigures? And just two? And if the Tumbler is indeed minifigure scale, why the heck is it $200+. No minifigure scale Tumbler would (Or should) rack up that much of a cost. It is large in comparison to other "normal-sized" vehicles, but it's not a space ship. Personally, I don't know how we can trust the source on this development anyways. It's all just hearsay...granted this is the rumors thead afterall, so everything should be taken with a grain of salt until there's offical confirmation. On a side note, how many people would be willing to spend so much for a Tumbler and a Ledger Joker? I don't understand the appeal of this set; everything we've heard about it seems ridiculous to me.
