  1. I don't know why everyone is so caught up in the whole "which Ultron is which" thing--we get so many of them that I'm sure we are not missing out on even one variant! What we do need however is an Ultron that is chromed! Nemo loves shiny bricks! I second this. I think it's a great feature--although I do fear for how much space it'll take away from seating within the jet. No doubt it would be easy to mod if need be however.
  2. At least we get some more semi-good pictures. Although that green Lantern battery doesn't look quite right. Makes me so glad we have the Eurobricks reviewer academy! Anywho, I think the pictures do highlight the one thing I hate about this set--the poor leg printing on Sinestro and GL (Actually no, there's many other things I dislike, all of them Sinestro related). I think it's a good example of why side leg printing is also needed; because without it the color proportions are more off than the bootless Flash we have (Who's basically 100% red). For the superhero figures, I feel like Lego is still giving us subpar characters--which is terrible because the superhero theme is all about the minifgures. The problem I have here is that the lack of side printing really affects the look of Sinestro and GL; most of all Sinestro who just looks unfinished (in addition to having terrible hair--with no ears--and yellow gloves instead of pink hands!). I know people must think I bring up leg printing a lot, and I for sure do, but in all honesty I just feel like Lego should not be giving us bad superhero minifigures when the characters are the entire foucs of the line. Regardless, I think the rest of this set is amazing. Space suit Batman is great--and it's surprising that he comes with a flesh head since is space mask has no alternative face. The builds are great, and I love GL's plane, even though it doesn't seem like much of a construct. I could see people buying multiples of this for more GL core members too.
  3. Hah it is Black Mantra! I didn't notice that---granted I only looked at the review for the pictures too...but they're not the best quality either. Come on sets, come out already! I want them so much--and I wouldn't mind reviewing them too!
  4. I have to say I don't understand the intent at all behind making Black Manta's helmet a two piece mold that is forever connected by the tubes. If the tubes are going to make it a permanent connection, why would Lego even bother to make the helmet in two parts? It would make sense if it allowed you to place a head for his human face between the neck bracket; but then you cannot remove the top half from hanging around because of the tube connection. It's really strange. The two parts may allow some movement on the head; since Vader's review claims the tubes are super flexible; although he makes no mention of potential movement. Granted I think the helmet could have been done with removable tubes, which would alow more possibilities for use. Although I have to say, regardless of the intent, the helmet turned out amazing!
  5. Yay pictures! The smallest set looks great for getting Ultron drones in mass--apparently it has three Drones (As you can see, one is split in half across the wings), since the name for one of them also has a x2 after it! The $20 set seems nice too; with a new interesting Hydra soldier. But Hawkeye still has those stupid goggles! He better wear those things in this movie if Lego keeps printing them! The Hulkbuster set is a bit strange for me. Obviously the Hulkbuster is larger than he should be; but at first glance I don't like the new Hulk mold and color. Good things we have the comic/old version. The Hydra base is great and I love that we get Strucker and the white tank--a quick recolor and it would fit well with the current Hydra vehicle we have. The Quinjet is amazing, and I'm glad I'll be able to get this since I missed out on the first one. Also; Black Widow hair! Finally the Avengers tower, which I think is great. It's very different than I thought it would be, specifically in color, but it seems to include a lot. I wonder what the first floor is for though, it looks like something goes there--maybe the truck from the Quinjet set? Hulk?
  6. Oooo! Finally pictures of the Brainiac Set! Martian Manhunter is amazing! He is just spectacular--and so much nicer than the promo version! Everything about him is awesome! I love the face and unlike the other fabric capes, his looks very nice here. It is interesting that Vader notes that MM uses a newer cape for the bottom and the old fabric for the top--which I guess is good for us fans of the old style since we can swap out the bottom for an old blue cape (such as the one used on the promo MM) and still get the great top half. I do agree with Vader's comments on Brainiac--that figure is just plain boring. He really could have used either leg printing or a torso print that did not suggest he was missing leg printing! I think I'm going to add in a light bley hip piece with black legs, since that may make the transition look better. However the thing I really don't like is his face print--since he's angry! Brainiac shouldn't be angry, he's a robot! I really wish they would have went with a neutral expression--I always prefer a neutral expressions in most instances because you can read many emotions into it--now my Brainiac is going to be forever mad! Oh well. I have to say Supergirl is amazing; and here the new fabric cape works well since her hair would otherwise destroy an old style cape. And I'm happy to see her legs have side printing and seem to be very high quality. Oooo...wait...saw Martian Manhunter again...he's perfect. Anyways, the ship is also nice but a bit bare. Still this is a day one buy (like all the other sets) for me.
  7. All though that review seems a bit lacking to me, at least it gives us more images of the Javelin set. I have to say I'm super excited that the Javelin seats four minifigures--especially after it seemed like the back seats were replaced totally by a throwing figure feature. I'm really happy with how the Javelin and the X-Jet have been able to include a good number of seats. I also love the stickers used, especially inside the Javelin; it has a strong JLU Animated feel to it. And I'm happy to see how well the figures turned out; specifically Hawkman. Hopefully he is great in person. But I'm still unsure of the new cape fabric type used on Batman and Superman. I understand the idea behind it, but I don't really like the look of it--since the thicker capes look a bit funny at the neckline.
  8. I'm not a fan of that Darkseid--his torso is cracked up more than his face! I wish they would have went with the classic more common look. Still, I'm hopefully we will get classic versions of all the New 52 suited characters we've gotten; at least at some point.
  9. You know you didn't need to quote all of that right? We know what you're talking about. --- Anyways, it's a sad day since there were no new sets out early at my Toys R Us. Thanks for the review just2good. That set looks great! I love how Captain Cold turned out, although he may have a bit too much lines on his face for me--but it still seems to fit the character regardless. Grodd looks amazing too, although I'm still not a fan of the forehead printing; and the Banana guy is just too amazing! Wonder Woman is spectacular too, and while I initally disliked her jet, I think it looks amazing in those pictures. I do find it shocking that we get a new Batman cape however. That seemed to come out of nowhere! I don't know how I feel about it, since I think it's a bit too thick on the neck area; and overall it's not a sharp looking.
  10. Guess I'm going to check my Toys R Us tomorrow! Grodd looks great, and so does the movie faced Batman! FYI, for those who may not know, if you buy sets from Toys R Us early, such as these new DC sets, they won't be marked up yet--Toys R Us generally puts the new sets out before the street date with their normal price, and only jack up the cost once everyone else starts selling them. But, the plus being you can get the sets early without paying more!
  11. Don't get your hopes up. Deadpool is both not a super family friendly character and not part of the MCU (as he's owned by Fox), so don't expect any directly movie based sets for him. We didn't get any sets for the last X-Men movie and we also don't get sets for the Amazing Spider-Man ones or Fantastic Four. The most we could hope for is a comic set that includes Deadpool which is somewhat tied to the movie (Like the X-Men Sentinel set)--but even then, we already got a Deadpool figure two years back--and frainkly he was basically perfect then anyways. So no. I think it's a safe bet that Deadpool will bring nothing to Lego.
  12. I didn't even realise that the calender had started! Well I guess it's ok for me, since I didn't win anything yet, but still. Either way, now I'll be watching!
  13. I agree. I really dislike the 52 Waller, and she doesn't make too good of a figure here. Although we get Boomerang--who is great and its' about time we got him! I think it's a bit annoying that most of the Squad characters are just rehashes in new suits (Heck I'm still upset that most of the game's line up is just variants--it's not 150+ characters when 20 or so are Batman variants!). Did we need another Deathstroke? Who would be the third version (technically) with the Arrow pack. Did we need another Deadshot? I wish they should have given us more new characters instead. Clock King would fit well with this group ala JLU, and so would Rick Flag.
  14. The winter banner looks very nice. Although I will say this taller version was a bit of a shocker! I guess I'm just not used to it, but I do like how the taller size makes the images more clear and less cluttered. The figures don't seem stuffed in there behind all the necessary stuff like titles and search boxes on this one. Now all we need is a new updated Liccensed banner!
  15. No. We just have the first three out now. I don't think the other three are going to come out until next year.
  16. I was able to pick up one of these exclusive figure boxes from my Target today; after searching for a while. They were hidden at this small secondary Lego section at the back of store/toy section if you are wondering. They rang up as $15, although there is no price listed for them on the shelves nor did I see anything about buying $50+ of Lego to get one free. Incidentally there's also new Snowman polybags out too apparently (They almost got me with that!). Advice for those buying at the store--use the opportunity to select a "good" box. I put back a few boxes I looked at after seeing that the Superboy arm print was not perfect (as some have already noted), and after a few quick checks I found one I liked.
  17. That looks amazing! I cannot wait to see these Lego sets! I really hope we get some water Dinos and some park structures, since I love the modern lab/theme park atmosphere. And although it seems out there, I really hope we get a monorail--if we are lucky there's an important enough scene with it to force Lego to revisit the monorail--that would be spectacular!
  18. Finally downloaded the first DLCs after having the game since it was released. Aside from giving you some more characters, I found them all pretty disappointing. The "missions" we're not very good and were incredibly short. They were basically the equivilent of the Deadpool missions from Lego Marvel, but they were not as interesting. The 75th Batman mission was really boring, basically just destroying things; and the DK mission was very anticlimactic. The most interesting one I think was the MOS mission, since it felt the most like a level, and all the Russell Crowe jokes. That being said, the figures you get are pretty good. I had a huge laugh when I found out the Dark Knight Returns Batman was a bigfig. Azrael and Sinestro Batman are cool too, but the rest of the 75th Batman variants are mostly throwaways. Plus, what the heck TT; seriously, no B:TAS Batman?! The other great DLC figure is Batman Begins Ra's, who has a hint of his Lazarus pit past when he slams his sword down, which is awesome. I just hope the next DLCs turn out better all around.
  19. All I want for Christmas is... ...for my superhero minifigures to finally get some offical boot printing.
  20. For my latest creation, I made a purist Ares to fight Wonder Woman:
  21. Wonder Woman vs. Ares The god of war, Ares, has kidnapped the Amazonian Queen Hippolyta—and it’s up to the queen’s own daughter Diana; otherwise known as Wonder Woman; to save her and all of Themyscira from the mighty god’s wrath! Enjoy! ~Nemo
  22. This is for sure the best reason to suspect that there won't be any play features. A mini-quinjet being included makes me think of that old 10030 Star Destroyer or (more likely) the 10221 Super Star Destroyer. We are getting a massive hunk of bley and some scaled down ships with it. I think the best we can hope for is that we do get one or two minifigures (there's no way we'd get more) that like in the SSD can be placed inside. Although I have to admit, even if it had play features and figures, I don't think I could swallow that $350. There's just so many other Lego sets coming out I'd rather get collectively than spending so much on one flying ship.
  23. I have to say I love this set! The feel of the whole thing is great; I think a cool classic detecitve office is a great addition to the modular line. And even though I don't own any modulars, I could see this being my first one. It just seems to fun!
  24. I had the exact same thing at my Toys R Us today. Seems a bit strange when one store can get 200 Racoons and another get zero.
  25. That D-Rex is amazing! I'm for sure going to pick it up. I love the color scheme on him; it's very unique and I could see it looking amazing in snow themed creations. And I have to say I'm also happy that the T-Rex is the old Dino version; I passed on those sets, and I regret doing that now, so it's a great lucky second chance at getting one.
